It's been a month since Sonic and friends managed to stop the metarex but it was at the cost of Cosmo's life but everything soon went back to how things were. With
Eggman trying to take over the world and Sonic always managing to put a stop to his evil plans. Shadow's adventure in space ended and he finally made it back on
Mobius and Maria was both happy and angry. She was happy that Shadow's second sacrifice wasn't the end of him but she was still mad at him for trying to attack
and kill Cosmo. He had even attacked her despite her pleas for him to stop. It took some time but they managed to make up and Maria wanted to tell Shadow
everything about his past but refrained from doing so because she was afraid that Shadow would want revenge on the humans again. She was conflicted and so she
called her two best friends for advice on what to do. Bloom and Helen listened to her troubles and were honestly not sure what they could say.
"What should I do? Should I tell Shadow about what happened in the past or should I keep it a secret from him? I'm so confused" Maria said
"From what you told us, you're afraid that if you told Shadow the truth then it'll turn him back into wanting revenge but you can see that he really wants to remember
who he is" Helen said
"Yes, but I don't know what to do" Maria said
"Perhaps you should tell him" Bloom said
The two blonds looked at the redhead and wondered what would make her say that.
"From what you described it seems like Shadow knows you but at the same time he doesn't know you. Bits and pieces of memories are still there but he doesn't
recognize those memories nor does he understand why he's having these flashbacks in his mind" Bloom said
Both girls remained silent and waited for her to get to the point. They trusted their friend because she was smart and knew what to do most of the time.
"Maria I recommend telling before someone else does. What if someone like Eggman claimed to know about his past? People with amnesia are gullible most of the
time. So it's better to tell him now before someone brainwashes Shadow into thinking he's someone else" Bloom said
"But what about-?" Maria asked before cutting herself off.
"If you're worried about Shadow wanting revenge against the humans then we'll just stop him like we did before" Bloom said
"But I don't want to fight him!" Maria said loudly
"I'm not saying that we will fight him, I only said that as a what if scenario" Bloom said
"We'll be happy to lend a helping hand if you're having trouble" Helen said
"Thank you girls" Maria said
Everyone went outside and that's when the sky got covered in red clouds.
"I didn't think it was supposed to rain today" Maria said
"Those clouds look ominous, something feels off" Helen said
Bloom could sense negative energy from those clouds. Several holes in the sky opened up and it looks like creatures fell from the sky and then started to attack
everything in sight. Some of them appeared in front of Bloom's mansion and started advancing towards it.
"Who are you and why are you invading?" Bloom asked
The black creatures just snarled and lunged at them only to be kicked back by the redhead. The three girls started to fight back and managed to get rid of them all
that were at her house.
"Is an alien invasion really happening right now?!" Helen asked loudly
"And all those innocent people out there that can't defend themselves are getting in the crossfire too" Maria said
"We need get out there and defend the people from these attacks" Bloom said
"But where do we go first?" Helen asked
"Westiopolis is the closest city lets go there first" Bloom said
The three of them ran towards the city and managed to help out defeating the black creatures and saw Shadow was there too.
"Shadow!" Maria hollered
The black hedgehog turned around saw that it was Maria that was calling out to him.
"Maria, what are you doing here? It's dangerous" Shadow said
"I know but I have the power to defend myself " Maria said
Bloom noticed that Sonic was there too and that didn't really surprise her since he would be the first one to take action at the first sign of trouble.
"Yo Bloom, I guess you noticed the invasion too" Sonic said
"How could I not? Some of them appeared in front of my house" Bloom said
"What about the others?" Helen asked
"Well Tails is currently looking into who these black creatures are. Amy helped with the evacuation of the citizens" Sonic said
"What could they want from our planet though?" Helen asked
"At this point it doesn't matter. They made the wrong decision to invade our home" Bloom said
"I couldn't have said it better myself" Sonic said
Tails soon appeared and came here with some news.
"Tails, did you find out anything about the invaders?" Sonic asked
Tails shook his head because he still didn't have any luck on finding out who they were or what they were but he did find out what was happening on the high way on
the city.
"There's a tank that's filled with weapons that's headed out of the city and it belongs to those black creatures" Tails said
"A black tank huh? Well it's time to stop it" Sonic said
A weird starfish thing with an eye appeared before them and gave them information.
"We have already collected the chaos emerald in this city. Our mission here is complete, now get going" it said before fleeing
"W-what was that thing and it was able to talk too?" Maria asked
"That thing seems to know me" Shadow said
Maria was shocked and so were the rest of the gang.
"Hold on, Shadow what do you mean it seems to know you?" Sonic asked
"It doesn't concern you, Sonic" Shadow replied
"Shadow how does it know you?" Maria asked
Shadow remained silent for a moment before responding.
"I don't know how it knows me, but it said to collect the chaos emeralds as promised" Shadow replied
"So if they're after the chaos emeralds then whatever it is that they're up to can't be good" Helen said
"Black creatures are attacking any major city they come across too we need to act now" Tails said
"Tails is right, we can't just stand by and talking like this when there are people out there in danger" Sonic said
"All of you are free to do what you want, as for me I'm going to collect the Chaos emeralds" Shadow said
"Hold on, Shadow you better not be thinking about giving those emeralds to those aliens" Sonic said
"What I do with the emeralds is my business not yours" Shadow said
"Seriously Shadow! Don't give them the emeralds" Sonic said
"No one tells me what to do" Shadow said
Maria got in between the two hedgehogs to stop them from fighting.
"Please don't fight!" Maria said
"I'm out of here" Shadow said as he walked away.
"Maria, I think its best that you stay by Shadow's side" Bloom said
"Huh? I mean sure but why?" Maria asked
"If that alien truly does know Shadow then he might try to manipulate him into doing what he wants. You're job is to keep Shadow from doing those exact things"
Bloom said
Maria now understood and nodded and ran after Shadow before she would lose him.
"As for the rest of us we need to split up and take care of things on our own" Bloom said
"She's right, it'll be much faster that way and taking out the black creatures will be easier if each of us are in separate locations. We can communicate with each other
later down the line" Tails said
"Sonic you should track down that tank near the high way" Bloom said
"You got it" Sonic said
"Helen, you need to get to Knuckles and ask him for help" Bloom said
"But there's a chance he'll refuse because he would just say he need to guard the master emerald" Helen said
"Just tell him if the world is destroyed then the master emerald will also be destroyed" Bloom said
Now that she thought about it that does make sense and nodded before heading off to find Knuckles.
"What about you Bloom?" Tails asked
"I'll be gathering up some forces of my own" Tails said
"You mean the chaos children? But Bloom not all of them trust you" Tails said
"Then I'll just gather up the ones that do trust me" Bloom said
"Well okay but be careful" Tails said
"Same to you" Bloom said before running off
The redhead was running along the open field and got into contact with Chris.
"Chris can you read me? Chris?" Bloom asked
To her relief she got a response.
"Bloom? What's going on? Where are you?" Chris asked
"I'm in Greenhill zone right now" Bloom said
"Are you okay? You've seen the invasion right?" Chris asked
"I did and I need your help to gather up many of our friends that can fight" Bloom said
"I'm on it" Chris said
Meanwhile Helen was with Knuckles and managed to convince him to fight the aliens. They were at some Glyph ruins and there aliens everywhere. There were black
worms shooting out missiles from their mouths but Helen managed to find out that their mouths were their weak points and kicked one and it fell down in defeat.
"These ruins feel weird" Knuckles said
"I know it feels ancient" Helen said
The black arms were reawakening the temples and both heroes managed to stop them in time before something bad would happen.
Sonic, Maria and Shadow were on the highway and managed to spot the lead tank that Tails mentioned before.
"That must their lead tank, now lets take it out" Sonic said
"The blue hedgehog performed a spin attack but the tank was protected by a forcefield and it block his attack.
"It's protected" Sonic said
"Shadow let's help him" Maria said
"I need to find the chaos emerald" Shadow said
"Please Shadow? Please help us" Maria said
Shadow looked at her and just sighed. For some reason he couldn't refuse a request from Maria.
"Fine, I'll help" Shadow said
"Thanks a lot Shadow" Sonic said
"I'm not doing for you I'm doing it for Maria" Shadow said
"I still appreciate the help though" Sonic said
The three of them kept attacking the tank and noticed the normally blue barrier turned green and realized that they were breaking through. Shadow and Maria
launched some Chaos spears and the shield was down.
"I think I'll give this tank my ring of approval " Sonic said
Sonic took out a power ring and spin dashed into the tank and broke right through it and the tank was destroyed.
"Yes we did it!" Sonic said
"We saved everyone in this city" Maria said
The three of them managed to make it into the deeper part of the city and found starfish alien again.
"Alright, you whatever you are! Who are you?" Maria asked
"Way to be intimidating Maria" Sonic said with sarcasm
"Foolish human, you stand before Black doom" Black doom said
"Black doom huh? And I thought Shadow was edgy" Sonic said
"Sonic" Maria said with a disapproving tone
"Relax I'm joking" Sonic said
"Look here, I want you hand over that chaos emerald or else you'll be sorry" Shadow said
"You would really fight me? Someone who's superior to you in every way?" Black doom asked
"All I need is the chaos emeralds to find out the answers to my past that's all and if I have to blast you to bits to get what I want then I will" Shadow said
"Very well, Shadow, if you manage to fight wrath of the black arms then I will give the emerald to you. COME BLACK BULL! BURN THESE FOOLS TO ASHES!" Black
doom said
A giant flying creature appears before them and roars at them.
"That thing is so gross!" Maria said
"Now that's what I'm talking about bring it on!" Sonic said
Black bull started its attack by breathing fire on them but the three of them dodged his attack. It shot several fireballs at Maria, who countered them with her chaos
spears. Shadow used a homing attack on the creature but it had so much blubber that his attack bounced right off like it was nothing.
"That blubber absorbs most attacks" Shadow stated
"Then we need to find a weak spot" Maria said
Sonic managed to jump on the creature's back and grabbed the horns on its back. it started to buck to get Sonic off and the blue hedgehog was laughing like he was
having the time of his laugh.
"Giddy up partner" Sonic said
"That idiot" Shadow said
Maria almost wanted to agree with Shadow but refrained from doing so because she was worried about Sonic getting hurt.
Black bull then rammed into a building and hit its eyes on a pole causing it to screech in pain.
"It's eye, that's its weakness" Maria said
"Looks like Sonic can be good for something after all" Shadow said
Shadow used chaos spear and attacked its eye directly causing it to back away in pain and unleash a ring of fire on the ground. Shadow and Maria jumped up to avoid
it used homing attacks to hit his eye. Sonic joined in on attacking the eye and this was enough to take down the monster for good. Shadow managed to collect the
chaos emerald that the monster had on it.
Sonic soon ran off to help others, leaving Maria and Shadow alone with each other again. The duo found themselves in Central city where there were more Black
arms. There was a purple device om front of them and Maria started to inspect it.
"What is this thing?" Maria asked
Shadow then heard the device ticking and acted quickly before it was too late. He dashed towards Maria, grabbed her and teleported away with Chaos control .
"Shadow? What's wrong?" Maria asked
The blonde's question was soon answered when the purple device exploded. She gasped when she realized that she was inspecting a bomb.
"Thank you Shadow, you really saved me" Maria said
"Stick close to me and don't touch anything" Shadow said
Maria looked down, she felt bad for causing Shadow so much trouble.
"I'm sorry for causing you so much trouble" Maria said
Shadow remained silent for a moment before answering her.
"I worry about you and just want you to remain safe" Shadow said
Maria nodded and smiled because she knew Shadow still cared about her even with his amnesia.
Meanwhile Knuckles and Helen found themselves in central city noticed some of the purple devices go off and realized that they were bombs.
"Those black creatures are planning to annihilate this city too. We have to stop them" Knuckles said
Tails was helping out with taking out the black arms but then his communication device went off and saw that it was Helen who was trying to contact him.
"Helen? What's up?" Tails asked
"Tails, we need your help" Helen said
The two tailed fox could tell by her voice that she was panicking.
"What's wrong?" Tails asked
"The black arms set up several bombs in central city and we don't know how to deal with them" Helen said
Tails couldn't believe his ears when he heard that the black arms have planted several bombs throughout central city.
"How long until they go off?" Tails asked
"A few minutes" Helen said
Tails now knew that he had to do something to help but wasn't sure what because he was in a different location and wouldn't be able to make it to central city in time.
He had to think and fast.
