A few hours went by after Benjamin returned to HQ. He was worried about him being found out about killing the two Nazis and a heavy weight was placed on his shoulders. He made his way to the place where Ezra and Lucas were staying. Two guards stood outside the room and allowed him access. When he walked into a small confined space and a bunk bed in the corner of this room, he saw the floor covered in colored drawings of dinosaurs. Lucas saw his father as he ran towards him with his arms wide open.
"DADDY!"
Lucas threw himself into his dad's embrace and began hugging him tightly.
"My little boy I missed you so much." Benjamin said with such happiness. "Where's Ezra?"
"He said he'd be back he had a meeting to go too. Want to see my pictures? I've been drawing like crazy. Uncle Ezra says it would help to get my mind off things." Lucas said.
"Sure let me see your drawings." Benjamin said.
Lucas immediately pulled out one and handed it to his father.
"Here I drew this one for you daddy." He said with a huge smile on his face.
Benjamin reached out and grabbed the white parchment as he opened it up. Inside was a Tyrannosaurus Rex colored in a vivid red.
"A T-Rex?" Benjamin asked confused.
"I drew a bunch of dinosaurs and I drew the ones with people that I think best fits them." Lucas said as he began picking up a bunch of other papers off the ground and shifting through them.
"Where did you know how to draw these?" Benjamin asked.
"Uncle Ezra brought me some picture books and he knew I liked dinosaurs so I made these." Lucas replied.
He handed off a stack of papers to Benjamin. Benjamin looked through each one.
"A blue Triceratops, a yellow Pterodactyl, a black and gold Brachiosaurus, a white Pterodactyl?" Benjamin asked.
"No the white one is a dragon. But I didn't know how to draw a dragon so I drew that." Lucas said staring at his dad. "Come on look at the others!" He egged on.
"A light blue Dimetrodon, an orange Ankylosaur, a purple Pachycephalopod, and a crimson stegosaur. These look amazing. I love the vivid colors of the dinosaurs." Benjamin said with a smile on his face.
"They aren't just dinosaurs. They are to be robots looking like dinosaurs." He said as he began pointing out some of the dinosaurs.
"Why did you draw robotic dinosaurs?" Benjamin asked.
"Well these giant robots fight giant monsters. I'm not good at drawing yet but I thought about having these robots combine to form one giant robot! I thought it would be cool! These giant robots fight to protect people kind of how you, Ava, and Jordan fight to protect us." Lucas said. He grabbed a couple of the pics.
"The blue one is Jordan, the yellow is Ava, the red one is you, the black one is Uncle Ezra, I don't know what I'm doing for the white one I feel like that one is kind of evil. The white one scares me actually." Lucas said.
"These are great drawings buddy. What about you though? What dinosaur robot are you?" Benjamin asked.
"Oh I was in the middle of drawing it actually! I'm this one, but I can't pronounce the name of it. I just think it looks really cool! It kind of looks like a Triceratops." Lucas said as he handed a red with some black and gold drawing to Benjamin. Lucas had written the name on the side of the paper.
"Styracosaurus. What's this thing you have drawn in the background?" Benjamin asked.
"A carrier. This robot isn't like the others it can form one giant robot with just the thing it pulls. Unfortunately I don't know yet if I want it to use the other robots to combine with it." Lucas said as he began drawing something else.
"Why did you draw yourself like that?" Benjamin asked.
"Someday I want to be the one to pull for this family. I want to grow up to be stronger than you dad so I can be amazing. I want to be strong like you and brave as uncle Ezra." Lucas said as he began kicking his feet up and down on the floor.
"I can keep the T-Rex one?" Benjamin asked.
"Yeah the T-Rex is the leader! He's the strongest one right? That's how I see you. Strong and brave and leader like." Lucas said.
Benjamin folded up the drawing and placed it in his pocket. Benjamin began to get ready to leave.
"I'll see you soon Lucas." He said with a tender smile.
Lucas ran up and hugged his father from behind.
"Daddy you're not going to be a bad man are you? You're going to be a hero and save us all aren't you?" Lucas said with tears building up in his eyes.
"Where did you get that from?" Benjamin gasped.
"Ava and Jordan said you were going to be like a superhero. That you would save all of us." Lucas said. He gripped his father tightly as he was scared that this may be the last time he'll see his dad.
Benjamin slowly turned around and kneeled down to be eye level to his son.
"I guess I'm something like that. I'm going to be back Lucas. Don't ever fear, you're dad, Ava, and Jordan are going to give it their all just like those superheroes you hear so much about." Benjamin said rubbing his child's head.
"You promise I'll still see America with you right? Mom wanted to see it and I want to be there to see it too." Lucas said crying.
Benjamin held up his pinky finger to him.
"I promise you that I will get you to see America with me. That's a superhero promise." Benjamin declared.
Lucas wrapped his pinky finger around his father's.
"It's a promise!" Lucas said with a huge smile on his tear stained face.
Benjamin gave a huge hug and kissed his son on his forehead. Before leaving he took off his Jewish Star necklace and wrapped it around his son. "I want you to hold onto this. It's a lucky charm you could say. This was given to me by mother and has been passed down my family. I was told by my mother that whoever wears this will find the strength they need to get out of any major situation they are in. It's been helpful to me up to this point and I think it's time I passed it on to you." Benjamin said.
"Thanks dad!" Lucas said with glee.
Benjamin walked out of the room and headed towards his bunker where Ava and Jordan were located.
Ezra was released from a medical room he had sweat pouring down and he got back to his room to see Lucas wasn't around. "Where's Lucas?" He thought. He was so exhausted from the physical training and experiments that he could barely stand up. He found the bed and laid in it. He passed out and as he was dreaming he saw himself back in the same lab with the needle being injected into his arm. He was going through the process to be a super soldier. The pain from the substance being injected into his arm spread throughout his entire body. He felt immense pain and in the strapped bed he was in, he broke the restraints. He looked at his hand and saw that it had now changed to a type of dinosaur claw.
"What the hell is happening to me?!" He screamed.
He was able to get out of his trapped bed ripping all of the needles out as he saw a reflection of himself where he wasn't even human anymore. He looked like a humanoid dinosaur and as people began to surround him his veins ripped out of his body as they began slashing at every inch of the room that was now filled with the screams of the people he massacred. Ezra walked up to the mirror appalled at his new form. He placed his claw onto the glass.
"Who is the monster that exists in this mirror? It's not me. That can't be. That can't be me…" He said in despair. He kept a frown on his face but the reflection in the mirror looked back at him with a huge smile.
"I am you now. I'm going to give you the power to wipe out everything that breathes." The creature said back in a snarly voice.
Ezra saw something in the background of the reflection and as he slowly turned around he saw all of his friends, his nephew lying on the ground. The white room now covered in red and on the ground at his feet was Benjamin who's hand was wrapped around Ezra's leg.
"I don't want this…This isn't real…" Ezra said about to breakdown.
The claw of the creature inside the mirror reached out and placed his hand on Ezra's shoulder.
"Be careful of the power you seek. You might just get more than you wish for." The dinosaur creature said.
"Who…Who are…You?..." Ezra asked.
"I am the one that is more terrifying than the threat you are currently facing. I am the one who will turn this world back to more of a prehistoric age. The name is Mesogog." He said.
Benjamin on the ground looked up at his brother.
"Fight it Brother…" He said weakly.
In the split second Ezra's mind became clouded as he lifted Benjamin off the ground.
"We wouldn't be in this situation if you just took your powers and killed Hitler. All of the wasted opportunities and you dare ask for my help." Ezra said as he squeezed Benjamin's head until it exploded. Upon exploding Ezra snapped his eyes open and screamed into the dark room space.
"NOOOOOOOOO! BROTHER!" The guards outside the door came rushing in with their guns drawn at Ezra who was clutching his head screaming in agony.
One of the guards came up to him with the intent of knocking him out and as he raised the back of his gun Ezra delivered a jab to his crotch before putting his arm in a lock and using the body as a meat shield. He began running towards the other Nazi guard who opened fire on the shield hoping to pierce through his ally and stop Ezra.
Ezra shoved the meat shield at the last guard and as he did he grabbed the gun off the corpse. The last guard shoved his dead comrade off only to see the barrel of the gun forced into his mouth.
"You guys are monsters. This entire country has been taken over by filthy monsters. I'm going to kill every single one of you." Ezra said as he pulled the trigger and the guard had blood splatter everywhere around his face.
Ezra pulled the gun out of the guard's mouth as he finally snapped back to himself and scared of what he had just done. "What did I just do…I just…I…" Ezra turned around to look for Lucas but couldn't find him anywhere. "It's night time. Where is Lucas? He might be with Benjamin and the others. I should go there." Ezra wrapped the gun around him as he began running out of the room.
Ezra began running down the dark hallway trying to find his family when he ran past a doorway that was opened and a faint glow emitted from inside. Ezra stopped as he took a peek inside this giant room. The room had walls filled with different animal and living thing body parts in liquid color filled containers. In the middle of the room was a throne and behind it was a giant glass container. Levers and buttons galore filled the panels that were directly under the colored containers.
"What is this room? What's up with all of the dead animals in these containers?" Ezra said as he began inspecting the room. He began touching the glass containers curious to see if the creatures inside were even alive but nothing moved. He noticed at the top of the machines was tubes connected to the glass container that was closed.
In front of Ezra was a blue sheet of paper and on it were a bunch of white drawings and instructions in German but the thing that stood out was what was written at the top of the paper in English.
"Project: Tyrannodrone. Is this entire facility designed to create some kind of monster?" Ezra said as he began looking at the different drawings and scribbles. He could read some of the writing and understand the German language but what was difficult was the sloppy handwriting on the paper. "Looks like it's going to be an army that the super being can control so that way the Nazi's don't have to lay down their lives on the battlefield. Tyranno? Why would they want to name something after a dinosaur? Wait Lucas said something about Tyrannosaurus being the king of the dinosaurs. So maybe using the word Tyranno is just a way to bolster Hitler's stature of ruling the world. Drone could easily be used as a slave. But the way to create a Tyrannodrone is unclear because I can't make out the requirements for it. But as it appears you need to use some kind of DNA splicing or something to create one. But what is the foundation for the DNA to bond with?" Ezra wondered. Ezra was so absorbed into his thoughts he didn't hear someone come up behind him until a gun was placed to his back.
"I see you found my Geo Randomizer Laboratory." Hitler said.
"Just what are you playing at Hitler?" Ezra asked.
"I'm playing World Domination my boy. You filthy Jews are a plague in this world. If you weren't a viable choice of being my super soldier I would've blown your brains out right now." Hitler threatened.
""What's the foundation for the creation of these Tyrannodrones? Is it us Jews?" Ezra asked.
"What would you do with that information if I were to give it out to you?" Hitler asked.
"It's obvious you would change Jews into something hideous to fight this war for you. We would also be the first to die on the battlefield so none of your precious vermin of a human beings get hurt." Ezra said.
"You're right. The Jews are the foundation for this experiment but only certain ones can be used. Tomorrow I will be wiping out a bunch of Jews in the camps at Auschwitz but a handful of the ones that are to be used for this experimentation will be turned into Tyrannodrones. The experimentation will not be done here but in Auschwitz. This lab is just a smaller version of the real one I have under the ground of the imprisoned camps. The ones who will be wiped out will be placed in a special gas chamber and I will be there to see the life of thousands of Jews be screaming to their lowly God for protection. While the others will be placed in a separate chamber to bring out my new army that will be under my control and yours." Hitler said.
"Mine?" Ezra asked.
"The Tyrannodrones will be controlled by you as well for they have the same strain that is used in the experimentation to be injected into your body to give birth to my super soldier. It's not just DNA I'm using but some of the energy from that cube that reacted to you when you touched it. My elite team of scientists were able to drain some kind of energy and have been able to replicate it to give power to whoever the cube chooses." Hitler claimed.
"Heh do you honestly think I'll go along with your plan? Once I become a super soldier I can easily wipe out everyone. You sure you want some filthy Jew to be a threat to you?" Ezra threatened.
"I'm not worried about you turning on me. The cube has already shown me that whoever transforms into my super soldier will give me full control over them. Once the experimentation is successful you will perish and a new programmable mind and entity takes over. Sorry to say that you will cease to exist." Hitler said.
"What?! You've got to be joking!" Ezra said as he quickly spun around to try and fight Hitler but his opponent bashed his gun across his face and knocked Ezra out. A guard stationed outside walked into the room. Hitler looked at Ezra on the floor.
"You show great promise that I will be the ruler of this world. Tomorrow at the crack of dawn we begin my steps into total annihilation of the Jews. Guard is the subject ready for experimentation?" Hitler asked.
"Yes. We have brought him in as questioned. Bring the child in!" The guard said as a couple of Nazi soldiers was holding each of Lucas's arms. Lucas was kicking and screaming to break free from the Nazis.
"LET ME GO! DADDY HELP! GET OFF ME!" Lucas screamed.
The guards dragged Lucas past the collapsed Ezra on the floor.
"Uncle Ezra…Uncle EZRA! HELP ME UNCLE! WHY ARE YOU JUST LYING ON THE FLOOR?!" Lucas was screaming as tears ran down his terrified face. Hitler put his hand up and began stroking his chin.
"Scream all you want but no one will hear you little boy." Hitler chuckled.
The guards threw Lucas into the glass container as the door quickly closed. Lucas got up off the ground and began pounding on the window but no matter how much he screamed no one outside the glass could hear him. Lucas was becoming more terrified with each hit to the glass.
"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?! WHAT HAVE WE EVER DONE TO YOU?!" He screamed inside but not aware that no one could hear him.
"Begin the mutation." Hitler said.
Some of the colored containers began to move up as the liquid began to drain and move through the pipes. Black smoke began to fill the space around Lucas. Lucas stopped pounding as he tried to cover his mouth. He began stumbling back into the middle of the room as he began coughing. The smoke filled his lungs and his body began changing. The entire space was filled with a thick black fog. Lucas fell to his knees as his body began a rapid change.
"…Daddy…Mommy…" He said before the smoke began clearing and what was left was not Lucas but a monster that was called a Tyrannodrone. Not a piece of Lucas was left, except the necklace around the neck that Benjamin had given him.
"Take this filthy Jew to the experiment table. We are pushing up the experimentation time." Hitler ordered.
"And what about you sir?" The soldier asked.
"Leave me alone with this Tyrannodrone."
The soldiers did as ordered and Hitler bent down to the floor to be eye level with his creation. Inside the glass the Tyrannodrone was shivering and twitching.
"My first successful creation, what a magnificent creature you are." Hitler said astounded. Hitler opened the glass door as he stared at the motionless creature.
"Nod your head once for yes and twice for no. Can you hear me?" Hitler asked.
The Tyrannodrone nodded once.
"Good. Now stand up."
The creature stood up as commanded.
"Follow me." Hitler said.
Hitler walked down the hallway and into the lower depths of his giant mansion until he came up to a room filled with at least two dozen Jewish people. They all coward to the back scared and Hitler opened up the door.
"You are free to leave but on one condition." Hitler said.
"Wh-Wh-What condition is that you monster?" One asked.
"Get past the thing at the end of the hall." Hitler said.
A snarling echoed throughout the hall that caused everyone to stay where they were.
"If you won't come to the creature, then I'll bring the creature to you." Hitler said as he snapped his fingers.
The Tyrannodrone appeared at the door and slowly walked inside. Hitler closed the door but left it unlocked. Everyone began freaking out.
"Kill them." He said.
The Tyrannodrone immediately began to massacre everyone in the room with no effort as the black creature was being covered in blood. A splat of blood landed on Hitler's cheek as he took out a handkerchief and wiped it off.
"I already share some of the blood of your wretched ilk. I don't need anymore." He said as he tossed the cloth into the room.
The Tyrannodrone had its arm inside a woman's chest and violently threw her corpse onto the ground. The creature then turned to face Hitler.
"That'll do. Stay here and wait for me. I will need you soon." Hitler said as the creature kneeled to the ground and threw its head up letting out a loud roar.
Benjamin was sitting drinking a glass of water in the rooms specifically for him, Jordan, and Ava. The other two were asleep but he was up wondering how much he might've messed up if he was caught for killing the commander and the Nazi soldier. There was another thing weighing heavily on his mind which was the mother and the two kids. He couldn't get the image out of his head of the girl's corpse with its hand stretched out to the dead sibling.
"I'm so sick of all of this. Everything is just so sickening." He said as he rubbed his eyes. He was in a depressed state as he kept reflecting on his actions.
Benjamin got up and refilled his cup with water as he sat back down. He was just so tired but was punishing himself from sleeping. Tears were slowly running down his face as he was internally beating himself up for everything at this point. Jordan walked into the room to see Benjamin sitting there in silence and with his face tear stained. Jordan sat in the chair across from Benjamin.
"Hey man what's wrong?" Jordan asked.
Benjamin hadn't told his friends what he had done earlier on in the day, afraid that he would upset them or something worse happening. With Benjamin's emotional state he knew he wouldn't be able to handle it.
"I just am tired. I don't know what to do with myself anymore." Benjamin responded.
"I'm assuming it has something to do on your first mission earlier? You seemed fine before leaving." Jordan responded.
"It was fine I guess…" Benjamin said avoiding eye contact.
"What happened?" Jordan said as he sat in front of Benjamin staring at him dead in the face. "Did you do something to jeopardize us?" Jordan said staring intently.
"I…I didn't do anything…" Benjamin said.
"He's lying." Ava said walking into the room.
"My wife is pretty good at finding out liars. I need you to tell us the truth." Jordan asked as Ava stood behind him with her arms on his shoulders.
"I killed the commander that was with me by impaling him into the wall and I slit the throat of the soldier that was with us." Benjamin confessed.
"Are you mentally retarded or something Benjamin!?" Jordan said as he stood up.
"They wanted me to kill the two children who were grieving for their insanely ill mother. I couldn't do it. I just couldn't." Benjamin said crying.
"Ben none of that means anything, if Hitler finds out we'll all face the penalty regardless if we are needed for being Hitler's protectors. I thought you were all about your family. You were even willing to leave every single one of us Jews behind if it meant your family could be saved. Now you decide to have a change of heart and at the worst possible time?" Ava asked.
"Do you understand what me and Ava have to do now? We have to report you. If we report you we can save our families and ourselves. It means they'll have to find another red guy but we are looking out for our family as well. This is Hitler and the Nazis we are dealing with. If you haven't noticed this man has slaughtered so many of our people, has imprisoned them, and is willing to use us as tools…No as stepping stones and then throwing us to the side when we aren't needed. We are literally holding onto one hope and that's whoever is going to be the super soldier and persuade them to attack him and his army. But in order to do all that all of us need to play our parts, and if that means we have to kill our kind we need to keep our heads down and do it. The life of the many requires the lives of the few." Jordan lectured.
"But I'm not a monster. I'm not going to kill innocent people and an argument can be made for adults if it comes down to it, but I'm not going to harm a child. I tried to save the one child's life and I was too late. I could've saved both children in that mission but I froze up. I watched the one get murdered and the one I tried to save bleeding out. I'm not a Nazi and I'm not Hitler. I don't want to add to the list of lives that have to die for my noble and selfish reasons. Being a part of this force has caused me to open my eyes and I want to save everyone as much as I can. I'm prepared to lose my life in the process." Benjamin said.
"Do you think we don't understand that either? Do you think we find pleasure in slaughtering our own people? Their screams and cries for help wakes us up in the middle of the night. The people we had to kill or watch were once our close friends, people we went to church with, we sat and ate dinner with, and ones that helped make our lives prosperous and joyful. We never wished for this and none of us ever asked for this. You're not the only one suffering here Benjamin!" Jordan roared while tears quickly fell down his face. Ava stood silently as she too was having tears fall.
Benjamin got up and walked to the door. He grabbed his face mask and put it on.
"Where are you going Ben?" Ava asked.
"I need to be alone. I'm going to go and see my son and my brother." Benjamin said as he walked out the door.
Jordan turned around and faced Ava. Ava stretched her hand out and wrapped them around his. "Do you think I was too harsh?" He asked her.
"I don't think that is something we should be concerning ourselves about right now." Ava said.
"This whole situation is messed up." Jordan replied.
"I know dear and I wish I could take it all back and make sure this doesn't happen to anyone ever again but none of us can even with the power we hold." Ava responded.
Jordan kissed his wife and as their lips separated from each other, Ava began to walk towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Jordan asked.
"Mistake or not, Benjamin has been your friend since you were children. He was your best man at our wedding. He's practically family to you and I think we should go after him. As harsh as you were he is the one who the red stone has chosen to give its power too. We all need to stand together and not break each other down." Ava said.
"You're right. Let's go." Jordan said as they began to make their way out the door. Once outside the two heard a scream that echoed through the halls followed by gunfire. Panicked the two quickly made their way to the location of the screaming and when they arrived six Nazi guards were in close combat with Benjamin.
