Author's Note: Alright gang, we're about to get this story rolling but a quick reminder what version of the Scooby gang we're working with, well we are sticking with a mix of what me and Lord Primeval think fits best with them.

Design wise they (along with the Mystery machine) look like their directed to video versions from Zombie Island-Cyber Chase.

Fred is still the De Facto leader of the group and is a master trapper.

Daphne is the second in command of the group and finances the groups travels (Due to her family being rich)

Velma is the brains of the group and cares deeply for her friends and solving mysteries and gets suspicious of potential suspects.

And for Shaggy and Scooby….well not much changes for them, they are still the lovable, gluttonous, scaredy cats we all know and love.

And as for the Ghostbusters, not much change but we are keeping in the style of season 1 and 2. Okay enough reminders, let the story begin!

Two days later….

Early in the morning in New Your City, all is the same as it is at night; all hustle and bustle. As such one would see the wave of bright yellow Taxi cabs among the variety of cars going about their business, so one would not turn their heads at the sight of a medium blue van with green accents and orange flowers bearing the words Mystery Machine on both sides of the van.

In the front seat of the van was the driver, Fred Jones. Daphne Blake in the middle of the front row, and beside her sits Velma Dinkley.

"Well gang, here we are; New York city!" Fred grins as they drive through Time Square.

"It sure was a long drive, but it was sure worth the wait to be in the Big Apple," Daphne chimed in while marveling at the sight of all the signs and people walking by.

"Better not say that around Scooby and Shaggy, they might try to look for an actual big apple," Velma chuckled.

She looked towards the back seat where their other friends sat.

Shaggy Rogers and Scooby Doo were busy looking out the windows of the van, each with a camera in their hands.

"Like, normally we would Velma, but Scoob and I are keeping our eyes peeled for a photo-op of Spider-Man," Shaggy said keeping his camera at the ready.

Scooby Doo moved to the other side of the van with his camera.

"Reah! and the Ravengers, roo!" Scooby added.

"And if we're lucky Scoob, we might even see the Fantastic Four!"

"Guys, Spider-man, The Avengers, and the Fantastic Four are all comic book characters," Velma informed them. "They're not real."

This caused the pair move away from the windows in disappointment.

"Rats!" Scooby groaned as moved to put the camera away inside one of the drawers.

"Oh, careful Scoob, that's where I put the photos of our trip to Gotham City," Shaggy said.

He quickly moved to the drawer to pull out a set of pictures, one of which had a picture of the two with Batman and Robin.

"Ah, man Batman didn't smile. Why didn't you tell me Scoob?

"Rowy Raggy," Scooby said putting the cameras away then the two joined their friends in looking out the front seat.

"It was sure nice of your folks to lets us know about the convention here, Freddy" Daphne said. "Though I'm not too crazy about the name."

"What's wrong with the Occult Con?" Fred asked.

"Cult Con?!" Shaggy said.

"Rult Ron?!" Scooby said at the same time.

The pair shivered as they held onto each other in fright.

"Not CULT Con, OCCULT Con." Velma remarked with her left eye brow raised, "It means relating to the supernatural."

"Like, how's that any better?!"

"Relax guys, it's just a convention for fans of horror and supernatural things; like Movies, Tv shows, books, history and legends," Fred explained. "My mom recommended it to me since the last time I phoned her."

"And it's a good thing that she sent us one of their pamphlets," Velma said.

She pulled out the pamphlet for the convention, unfolding it.

"According to this, the convention will have a preview for the latest remake of the Critter Getters movie."

"Critter Getters?!" Shaggy grinned as both he and Scooby's terror was replaced with joy. "That's like our favorite movie from our childhood!"

"Ray!" Scooby nodded.

"I heard it's going to have an all-female cast," Daphne added. "Nice to have some main female leads in movies nowadays."

"There have been main female leads in movies in the past, Daphne" Velma rolled her eyes. As she continued to read the pamphlet while Scooby looked over her shoulder.

"It's also going to show old monster movie costumes from the late 60s, real life artifacts from around the world, and just look at those celebrity guests; Ghouly Ramsey, The Hex Sisters, Lorraine and Edward Warren, Loyd Auerbach, Michelle Belanger, David Fontana, with booths dedicated to MUFON, ASSAP and-"

"Row!" Scooby snatched the pamphlet from Velma.

He pointed at the page saying 'special guest stars.'

"And the RhostRusters too!"

"Like, the REAL Ghostbusters?" Shaggy said eagerly.

He looked at the pamphlet showing the images of the four Ghostbusters.

"Wow, like that is so cool!"

"Rool!"

"They're not that cool guys," Velma said taking the pamphlet back. "They're clearly a bunch of crooks!"

"How can you say that, Velma?" Daphne asked. "Those guys are professional ghost hunters.

"Which started happening the moment those guys started their business six years ago," Velma snapped.

"You've got to admit, Velma," Fred added as he made a turn. "Ever since then, strange things have been happing in this city."

"Oh no, like we know where this is going, right Scoob?" Shaggy moaned.

"Reah," Scooby sighed while sitting up and wrapping one of Fred's old ascots around his neck. "Rooks rike re rot a rystery on rur rands."

This caused the gang (minus Fred) to laugh at the imitation.

"I don't sound like that," Fred said. "And besides the only thing we are here in NYC is to see Occult Con... and some sights if we can. But the real mystery here is finding out where the convention center is, exactly?"

"Didn't the pamphlet give a name?" Daphne asked.

"I believe it's the Javits Center," Velma answered.

"Like, where is that?" Shaggy asked looking out the window, "This city is so big it's hard to tell?"

"Don't worry gang, we'll find it," Fred said. "Just keep your eyes peeled for anything."

"Yeah! Like, especially if there are any ghosts around..."

Shaggy nudged Scooby as the two frightfully kept watch outside for any signs of the supernatural.

The Mystery Machine drove past a small Gym building, not even taking a look at the large crowd of people just standing around and watching the building.

The gym was completely empty, various equipment left abandoned on the floor. The radio kept changing from the latest pop song to intelligible static.

Over by the leg extensions, Egon slowly waved his PKE meter in the air.

"It's definitely somewhere close," he said. "There's no chance it left the building yet."

"What do you think we're dealing with?" Ray asked nobody in particular, "Class 5? 6? It's obviously a Full Roaming Vapor, maybe-"

"It's BIG and MEAN," Winston interrupted. "That's good enough for me!"

The group spread out, Neurtona Wands at the ready. The workout room was unearthly quiet. Peter Venkman slowly walked up to the snack bar, keeping his eyes open.

"You know, when most people in this city are late for an appointment," Peter spoke up. "It's because of a Giants game. When WE'RE late, it's because of three Full Torso Aberrations, two poltergeists, half a dozen imps, a possessed coffee maker and a granny in the crosswalk."

"Yeah, Peter's kinda got a point." Winston said in response, "the ONE day we have important plans and suddenly business starts booming. We're already an hour and a half late!"

While Peter leaned his body against the counter something caught his eye. One of the large dumbbells was slowly beginning to rise up into the air. Venkman held his neutrona wand in both hands, ready to fire up a proton stream as he snuck up to it. The dumbbell lifted itself suddenly at an angle, like an arrow pointing to Ray.

"Well, maybe it might be a smart idea to run a few tests when we get back," Ray said. "It could be another fluctuation in the-"

"HIT THE DECK!" Peter shouted, running towards Ray.

Peter pulled Ray down to the floor just in time as the dumbbell launched itself, missing Ray's head by just two feet. A sudden, low laugh echoed across the building as the ghost slowly became visible.

The ghost was a translucent orange color with glowing green eyes. It's legless body ended in a long, snake-like tail attack least three times the length of it's massive torso. The specter's upper body was extremely muscular to the point of absurdity, with hands bigger than it's head. The top of it's head had a mohawk-like fin.

"Thanks for the save, Pete!" Ray said.

"Never use weights without a spotter," Peter smirked.

Ray and Peter rolled out of the way of the ghost's huge fist before it collided with the linoleum floor. It smiled a massive grin, showing it's crooked, yellow teeth. Ray was the first to fire a proton stream at the ghost, who dodged it.

The next shot came from Winston, who missed by an inch.

"Pretty spry for such a big target, aren't you?" Winston said.

The ghost took a dive towards Egon. He ducked.

The orange specter phased through the floor, leaving a puddle of green slime.

"An easy feat when you literally weigh nothing," Egon said as he brought himself back up.

The Ghostbusters placed their backs against each other, neutrona wands pointing outward. They've seen this trick before and knew what to expect.

Everything was quiet for almost a minute until the ghost emerged from the floor, opening it's large jaws to swallow an entire rack of weights as it flew up.

"THREE O'CLOCK!" Ray shouted.

The foursome swiftly aimed at the ghost's direction and fired. The thing ducked and weaved past the streams. It took a deep breath and spat out one of the weights it swallowed at an incredible speed.

The phantom continued to launch slime-covered metal disks, forcing the Ghostbusters to scatter.

Winston managed to take cover behind a treadmill, right behind the ghost. While it was distracted trying to aim at the others, Winston aimed at the specter's long tail.

His aim was true. The stream wrapped itself around the ghost's tail. It turned around as it noticed what was happening.

"NOW, GUYS!"

Ray was the first one to throw another stream, then Peter. With three streams upon it the orange ghost began to struggle and growl. Egon threw a trap on the floor and pressed down on the button, opening the device as the other three attempted to pull the ghost into position.

Egon fired his own stream to aid them. Four proton streams was enough to move the ectoplasmic hulk over the trap. Finally, the trap began to pull the ghost in. It panicked as it was sucked into the light.

The doors on the trap closed. It was captured.

"Good work, guys!" Ray said, "Now let's grab the trap and head out for the convention!"

"Fine by me!" Peter said as he quickly snatched the trap from the ground.

The group hightailed for the entrance.

"Better turn the safety lock on that trap, Peter." Egon said, "It's going to be a while before we can get it to the containment unit."

"Yeah, I got you."

They made it to the cash register, where an employee cowered behind the desk.

"We got 'em!" Winston said as he passed.

"Jeannine will send you the bill!" Peter said as he followed.

Egon said nothing as he passed.

Ray stopped at the register as he noticed a rack of protein bars in front of the counter. He grabbed as much as he could hold in his hand while he counted dollar bills in the other.

"We gotta go, Ray!" Winston shouted.

Ray just dropped the money in his hand onto the counter and ran off with his loot.

The young man behind the register slowly rose up, shaking like a leaf.

"Th-th-hat's it," he stuttered. "I'm demanding a raise!"

The Ghostbusters ran out to the parking lot, the Ecto-1 waiting for them. The crowd parted as they approached, cheering.

Winston unlocked the trunk, which was full of ghost traps, as Peter tossed in their latest catch.

As they did, a familiar green ghost phased his way through the rear car door. It spoke in gibberish at the group.

"It was a tough one this time, Slimer." Ray said as he opened the car door, "Thanks for staying behind and watching the car, couldn't risk leaving those traps unguarded. Now we're off to-"

"HEY!" Slimer said, crossing his arms.

He looked at Ray with a grumpy expression.

"Oh, don't worry," Ray responded as he dug into his pockets. "I didn't forget the deal..."

Ray pulled out the pile of protein bars he grabbed earlier.

"Here you go, you've earned it."

Slimer happily snatched up the loot and flew into the car. Ray followed in after.

"You actually bribed him?" Peter said.

"I promised him something to munch on if he kept an eye on the traps," said Ray. "And...that he wouldn't slime you before the convention."

As the car started the siren roared. Slimer began shoveling protein bars into his mouth, not even taking the time to unwrap them.

"I think it would have been better to just leave him back at the firehouse," Peter said.

"It was Jeannine's idea," Winston replied as he turned the wheel. "Kids love mascots."

"Is it too late to get a gorilla for a mascot instead?" Peter sighed.

Winston drove Ecto-1 with haste as most of the other cars pulled to the side. Only a few more blocks to go until they would get to the Javits Center.

Author's Note: How's this story going so far for you guys? As mentioned before in the prologue this story has been in our minds for quit for awhile we just didn't fully realized the plot yet until this year.

Now Lord Primeval is more into Ghostbusters lore then I am so he is in charge of all things Ghostbusters for the fic while I handle the Scooby Doo stuff.

Hope you enjoyed some of the easter eggs we left here, and perhaps you'll see more when the next chapter comes when the group arrive at the convention.

What will they see?

Will they meet?

And what will be there to…..spook them? Stay turned.
