Sakura looked carefully at the papers. The call history wasn't anything special. The contact names were just either her husband, kids or her friends. It wasn't really hinting at anything. It looked pretty normal until she finally saw it. Her eyes widened at the sight. A name has been called over 50 times in a week.
"TMS."
She grabbed her phone and dialled the number and as she expected that the number doesn't exist anymore. Sakura knew that the killer probably destroyed the SIM but there was still a chance that the killer was dumb enough to not destroy it. Sakura then dialled another number and just after a ring the other person picked it up.
"Hello?" A voice said from the other line.
"Hey I need your help with something." Sakura said.
"I see. What is it?"
"I want you to find someone. They don't own the SIM anymore. Would you be able to find them?"
"I think so."
"Excellent! I'll send you the information."
"That won't be necessary."
"Huh?"
"Open the door Sakura."
"Wait don't tell me you're-"
Sakura jumped of the bed before runnings toward the door and as soon as she opened the door she was met with a girl with lavender eyes and short dark blue hair.
"Hinata! What are you doing here?" Lia asked.
"Me and Hanabi made chocolate cake. We both wanted to you have some too so I came to deliver it." Hinata said.
"That's so nice of you both. Come in already."
"Thanks."
After entering Hinata handed Sakura the cake which Sakura put in the freezer. After that Sakura and Hinata both went in to Sakura's room to talk about the case.
"TMS? Hmm...I'll try my to find this person but no promises." Hinata said.
"That's fine. The fact that you are already doing this much for me is enough." Sakura said.
"What are you talking about Sakura? Friends should help each other in need."
"Thanks Hinata."
"No problem."
"Oh by the way did you know that Ino and Sai were on a date today."
"What!? No way."
"I have finally something to tease Ino about."
"Don't tease her too much tho."
"I can not promise that."
"Hahaha. Well then I'll be leaving."
"Ehhhhh but you just came."
"Uh sorry but Hanabi's waiting for me you know."
"Oh that's right."
Sakura handed Hinata the papers that contained the call history. After that both of them made their way to the entrance. Sakura opened the door for Hinata. Hinata walked outside the apartment and then turned to Sakura.
"So I'll see you later." Hinata said before hugging Sakura.
"Hmm goodbye Hinata. Take care." Sakura said.
"Same to you."
And then Hinata left. Sakura went to her room. Just when she picked up the paper that the information on which places Marry had been to her phone rang. She grabbed her phone and looked at the contact name. It was unknown. And without much of a thought she picked up the call.
"Hello." Sakura said.
"Hello Sakura! It's me Sasuke!" Kyle said in panic.
"Sasuke-kun? What's wrong?"
"It's Kora! His trial is in 4 days!"
"What! No way! Are you serious!?"
"I am serious."
"Sasuke-kun it takes 3 days to get DNA of the hair and it takes at least 2 days to get blood DNA and then we also have also have to match them. Even if we do it as fast as we can it will still take 4 days which is the day of the trail. And there is no guarantee that we will get the results it time."
"What will we do!?"
"There is only one solution. You have to drag the trial out as long as can until we get the results."
"That's gonna be hard. Really hard."
"Huh? Why?"
"The prosecutor is Hideki Tanaka."
"Oh no. You're kidding right?"
"I am not Sakura, I am not."
Hideki Tanaka a very famous prosecutor. He has never lost single case in his 27 years of being a lawyer. He doesn't care if you're innocent or not, the only thing he cares is about the verdict to be what he wants. Sakura knew they were doomed. Not only did Thomas have more experience than Sasuke, he was also someone who would forge evidence or destroy evidence if he felt the situation didn't favour him.
"Sasuke-kun, we are doomed! He will end the case in the first trial!" Sakura said in a panic.
"Oh you didn't even hear the worst part yet." Sasuke said.
"What?"
"The judge of this case is afraid of him."
"Seriously!? What are we doing Sasuke-kun!? What are we going to do!?
"I don't know Sakura!"
"Sasuke-kun, in no way in hell can we let him know hair. He will destroy it if he finds out about it."
"I know. But will we do? I don't think I'll be able to drag the case for a long time."
"We don't have a choice Sasuke-kun. I'll talk to Sai about the DNA now. Goodbye."
"Goodbye."
As soon as the call ended Sakura called Sai. But unfortunately for her he didn't pick up. She called him again. No answer. And the again. No answer. Now she was getting worried. She called him again but no answer. And finally after calling for the fifth time he picked up.
"Hello, Sakura." Said Sai.
"Hello, Sai! Are you okay!?" Sakura asked.
"Yeah I am fine."
"Then why weren't you picking up!?"
"Oh I am sorry I was taking a bath."
"Ah is that so."
"Well what happened why did you suddenly call me?"
"I want DNA results in 4 days."
"What!? Are you kidding!?"
"No I am Sai. I need the results in 4 days."
"Sakura that's too fast!"
"We have no choice Sai."
"Wha-why!?"
"You know a guy got convicted for Marry's murder right?"
"Yeah."
"Well his trials in 4 days."
"What!?"
"You heard me. And we need the results to prove him innocent."
"What If he's not innocent?"
"Not possible. I trust Sasuke Uchiha's judgement. I know it's stupid to trust someone's judgement whom you haven't even known for even a day but I just do. Besides I also feel like it couldn't have been him. I am not only trusting Sasuke but also myself. Please Sai, I need your help."
"I'll try best Sakura but I can't guarantee anything."
"I know. Thanks Sai."
"Bye, Sakura."
"Bye."
After ending the call Sakura sighed. She didn't know what do to do anymore. Everything is a mess. Having Hideki as the prosecutor was a nightmare. On top of that the trial was in 4 days. She looked at the papers in the bed. She grabbed them and put it inside the bag they were originally in before opening the closet and the small door again and putting it there after locking both she lied down in the bed. It was a long day. From the moment she got this case she couldn't seem to catch a break. She closed her eyes fully intending to go to sleep just the her stomach growled from hunger. Her eyes shot open and she finally remembered that she has ate nothing other than breakfast today. She got up from the bed. She took the cake that Hinata and Hanabi made out of the freezer and put it down on the table. She then grabbed a spoon and a plate from the kitchen. After putting the cake on the plate she began to eat it. It was a very delicious. After eating the cake she washed the plate and spoon and threw the cardboard box in the trash can. And then went to her room and finally let her eyes rest.
2 days later
Sakura sighed for what seemed like the 10th time in 5 minutes. There was still no lead in the case and the date of the trial was only two days away. She didn't even bother looking at the names of the places Marry's been to because of the stress of the trial. She knew she should but she really couldn't bring herself to. Suddenly her phone rang. She looked at the phone to see it was Hinata. She picked up her phone before answering the call.
"Hello, Hinata."
"Hey Sakura. I have a bad news."
"What is it Hinata?" Lia said in a tired tone.
"The SIM was registered under the name of Akiko Yoshihara. And guess what she was given 1 hundred thousand Us dollars for her to get the SIM. And when the murder occured she was in France so there is no way she could have done it. And the person she gave the SIM to came in wearing big sun glasses, a hat and mask. Tho one thing we found out about the murder is that it's a girl."
"So Kora is definitely innocent."
"Yeah. He is."
"What should I do Hinata? I don't know what to do anymore."
"Don't worry Sakura. It's going to be fine."
"Thanks."
"Bye."
"Bye."
Sakura grabbed the marker and wrote down that the Killer was a girl on the board. And she erased the suspect from under George and Kora's photo. Of course there was still a chance that they were involved but they still didn't commit the murder directly so removing them out of suspicion seemed like a reasonable choice. She then picked up the paper that had the names of the people who entered the park on the day of the murder. Two of the blonde were kids, a girl and a boy both of them had short hair. And among rest of the three there was a guy with shoulder length hair so it couldn't have been him and then the other two girls had had long hair. Both of their DNA was already sent. Sakura knew it wasn't any of them. But it didn't hurt to check in case the killer did that on purpose to make her believe it wasn't any of the people who are present in the footage. Sakura found that highly unlikely.
2 days later
Sakura was biting her finger. Her finger was red from bitting too hard. Today was finally the day of the trial. She was still waiting for Sai to hand her over the files. Sasuke has already left for the court. She was in Ino's apartment waiting for Sai because it was closer for Sai. She felt someone move her finger from her mouth. She looked up to see it was Ino and next to her was standing Hinata. They both looked at her with a concerned face.
"Sakura it's not good to bite your finger." Ino said
"Yeah you should not hurt yourself." Hinata said.
"Ah...I am sorry. It's just that I am too worried. I don't want someone innocent to be convicted of a crime he didn't even do." Sakura explained
"I understand that but there is no point in hurting yourself." Ino said.
"Mhm you should take care of yourself or else how will you solve the case." Said Hinata.
"Thank you guys." Sakura said with a small smile.
Suddenly the door bell rang. Sakura immediately shot up from the chair and ran to the door with Ino and Hinata following after her. She quickly opened the door and Sai was standing there panting. Sai almost lost his balance but Ino grabbed his arm and helped him stand again.
"He-hey I g-got the DNA re-results." Sai said while panting
"Thank so much Sai! You're the best! Also sit down and drink some water!" Sakura said before grabbing the papers and running down the stairs.
"Into take Sai inside and give him some water I'll go with Sakura." Hinata said.
"Okay." Ino said.
"Sakura wait for me!" Hinata yelled while running after Sakura.
