In New Matropalipse, a building was on fire as Batman and some others worked to save people.
"That's everyone!" said Supergirl while flying out with two kids in her arms.
"All that's left is the fire," said Batman before tossing a few pellets into the flames. Upon contact with the fire, the pellets exploded to release a foam that extinguished them.
"Alright kids, who here likes balloon animals?" asked Harley while she sat with a bunch of children. At the same time, she took out some balloons from her pocket and began to blow them up.
"Thank you all for saving us," said a woman to Batman.
"It's what we're here for," said Batman.
"Yeah right," said a man that walked up with a half empty beer bottle in his right hand.
"We all know that you capes only do this for yourselves, why else would you still hide your faces from all of us?" asked the man.
"Hey pal, we saved all of you from burning alive," said Harley.
"Yeah?" asked the man.
"Well how do I know that some psycho bitch didn't start the fire in the first place?!" he asked while looking at Harley.
"Everyone calm down," said a police officer who walked up with some firefighters and other cops.
"We'll get to the bottom of this fire," said the lead fire investigator.
"You may want to start with the man who's covered in burns," said Supergirl before flying over and grabbing the drunk's wrist before pulling his sleeve up to reveal scars all up his arm.
"And seeing how these are healed, they aren't from this fire but still make you a prime suspect," she said.
"Fuck you, alien freak!" said the man as he dropped his bottle while going for a knife on his belt. However, Batman managed to grab his arm before he could reach the weapon and pinned him to the ground.
"I can't believe he actually tried that," said Supergirl.
"I think this helped with his confidence," said Batman as he revealed that the knife was made of kryptonite.
