Clinging to the remains of a ship with one arm and holding onto the unconscious body of a blond young man with the other, was a redhead in a soaked blue dress

The waters were mostly peaceful, no strong waves threatening to drown the pair. In the distance was a ship sailing through the waters

"HEY!" she called out to the ship she spotted nearby. "OVER HERE!"

Fortune seemed to smile upon her as the ship progressed closer to the pair. Of course that could be mere chance, so Marin kept calling to the ship, hoping that she was seen or heard

When the ship was by the two, a pair of ropes tossed to the side. "Tie the rope around yourselves!" she was instructed and she quickly did so to Link first before securing herself and giving the signal

There was the sound of struggling as the crew pulled with all their might. Marin could hear what she assumed to be the captain berating his crew. "Put yer backs into it!" he yelled at them from above her

"Cap'n, they're too heavy!" came the shouting of a crewman

"What's wrong with ya?" the captain berated as he too joined in the heaving to no avail. "Wait, it's not working, we need leverage. One set of men at the mast, and one set on each side. Got it?"

Multiple "aye ayes" could be heard as the crew took positions and pulled again. This time, Marin could feel herself and Link being pulled out of the water

When they made their landing, Marin just panted as she gazed as Link's slowly breathing body

"Shiver me timbers," came the voice of one of the crew. "That's Link!"

"Lass, what happened?" the captain asked, concern in his voice

Marin turned her gaze towards their saviors and saw a group of skeletons dressed as pirates. If Marin were a normal person, she wouldn't be calm in the presence of pirates. But these pirates not only saved her, but they were concerned for Link. That was reason enough to trust them

"We were in a storm," she answered, tenderly brushing some hair out of Link's face. There was no need to explain further

"Aye, there was a storm just last night," he muttered. "Yer lucky to have survived," he told her

She turned her gaze back towards Link and smiled. "I consider myself lucky when I met him," she mutters

The captain understood well enough. That was the face of someone in love

"We have no provisions, so I can't offer much aside from shelter, but we can set you on land," the captain told her, earning a nod in return. "Thank you," she replied

"And that's how we got here," she explained to Link, after she had managed to calm him down and convinced him they weren't on Koholint

Link believed her tale. He never told her about the skeletal pirate crew so she wouldn't know about them if she was trying to trick him. He let out a soft hum

"What?" he heard her asking

"I'm just disappointed I slept through all that," came his reply. After one long dream, taking too long to wake up didn't brighten his mood

"You once told me that you'd like to travel before settling down," she said, getting his attention. "What about it?" was his response

"If I was a sea gull, I would fly as far as I could. I would fly to far away places and sing for many people," she said wistfully before meeting his eyes. "I can't fly, but I can travel"

"Wind Fish," he said quietly. "Marin, what are you trying to say?"

"This lifetime," she began, "I'd like to spend it with you. If you would have me"

AN: Marin hasn't seen a Stalfos, since they're dungeon enemies and not overworld ones, so the concept of animated skeletons doesn't freak her out as much as the idea of pirates does. Besides, there's a friendly ghost living inside a grave, so undeads aren't up there on her weirdness sensor
