In The Eye Of The Storm

Set during Season 3. In which the Stalker has a better way of getting his message across. With Jason McCord alone in the house the night the security goes haywire it's easy to take him, beat him half to death and leave him alone in the dark.

Or another Hurt Jason! Fic.

Chapter 1-Nothing Personal.

In which security goes black, Jason is alone and Elizabeth and Henry step into their worst nightmare.

His parents were out.

Which was good because right now Jason really didn't want to speak to either one of them his father especially. So much for this promise that he was going to ensure that their relationship was not the same as the one his Dad had with Grandpa. Nothing had even been on that fucking account and his parents had treated him like a child.

His sisters were out too.

Good.

He hated both of them at the moment. Alison for ratting him out like the dirty rat she was and Stevie for being so endlessly fucking optimistic. He couldn't help himself. She was the one who had never wanted anything to do with this life, she had been the one who had insisted that their mother was a war criminal and God only knows what else and now she could see the advantages, see the clear way into Harvard through their parents she was all game for it now.

Okay…so maybe Jason was being a bit unfair. But he was alone in the house because his fucking parents didn't understand that he wanted to have a life free of constant danger and he was furious. He was furiously finding fault with each member of his family and he wanted nothing more to do than to sit here in the dark and endless hate them like the normal petulant teenager he was.

Come to think of it why was it dark? They still had lights on didn't they?

He stood up cracking his neck. His pyjama's were flannel and his grey shirt made it cold. He frowned only just noticing that the heating had gone off. It was winter and he realised that he was suddenly very cold and in a dark room.

Wonderful.

And the ice maker came on. He frowned turning as ice spilled onto the floor.

For a second he stared non plussed and then the lights flicked on and off. The dimmers in the kitchen went suddenly really bright and really, really dark again and he stepped into the kitchen only to find that nothing seemed to be working. He stepped into the kitchen fully just as the lights went out and the microwave began to ding and fell over the ice bashing his head on the edge of the counter and twisting his ankle.

He jerked upwards and staggered as the lights blinded him.

Something was wrong here he thought grimly as the sink suddenly exploded with clogged up water. If he was anything less than really creeped out he would have laughed at how long it took him to get to that point but he wasn't so here he was.

He shuddered a little staggering to the side. His ankle and his knee were throbbing and suddenly he realised what was wrong…

Where was security?

There was a panic alarm in each room something Jason thought at the time of moving in was insane but his parents had insisted. Ironically this was the one thing they had agreed upon with his Mom's security detail. The bulletproof glass was another story. He leaned around the island and pressed the button, that usually was enough to make security kick down the door but there was nothing.

Nothing.

And Jason McCord knew then that something was very, very wrong.

He was about to make his way to the door to get the goons in black when there was a banging noise coming from the back door.

He whirled around fully expecting Jack or one of the other agents that he knew to come in guns raised but there was nothing the door had been blasted open and cold air was coming through but there was nothing.

For a second he didn't get it and then like every horror character in the movies he suddenly felt a presence behind him. He whirled around to see Alf one of the security guards and he could have wept in relief. Alf was a new hire, he was one of the ones that had come with this security threat, someone who worked out of the FBI and who his mother was insistent they spent time with and he opened his mouth only to shut it again.

Alf was smiling but it didn't meet his eyes. He had very pale blue eyes and dark hair. Jason had two older boy mad sisters he was very good at noticing things like this mainly because Stevie and Alison didn't shut up about them but there was something about his smile right now that reminded Jason of when he was six and he had been bullied into watching Jaws by his sisters. He had been unable to sleep for a week after that crawling into his parents bed and terrified that a shark was going to come up the bathtub drain and eat him alive and that was the same feeling that he had now.

The same sick feeling that he had now.

"Alf" he said slowly but the man held up a hand and Jason who was stood there with a twisted ankle and a busted knee his house rebelling against him suddenly fell silent.

Suddenly despite the way he had been feeling towards them recently he found that he wanted more than anything else in the world his Mom and his Dad. He wanted to be six again and there was nothing that couldn't be cured with a hug from his parents and his Dad letting him crawl into bed with him and promising him that the evil shark was not going to get him because his Daddy wouldn't let him.

He wanted that back.

"I am sorry Jason" Alf said quietly. "I truly am and I know you wont understand it but…this wasn't personal. I need you know that. I want you to know that. Nothing personal"

And then he came forwards and Jason tried to scream but the smack on the back of his head, across his face sent him staggering into the kitchen island and he blacked out before his body even hit the floor.

It had not been a good night.

Conrad's fundraisers were sometimes quite interesting to be fair. Sometimes it was nice to let her hair down, wear expensive clothes and drink champagne. However usually with these things there was always some kind of international crisis kicking off and so that usually put the damper on it.

Tonight for all the money in the world she would wanted to skip it. Henry had said as much but Russell (rather snidely) Elizabeth thought, had pointed out that it was her fault that Conrad had to throw a fundraiser at all because if she had kept her mouth shut then he would already have the nomination of his own party and all the money that came with it.

Which she was big enough to admit was true.

So here she was.

It didn't help that Stevie and Allie had both begged off. Stevie and Jared to be fair had, had a date planned for weeks in advance and Allie had been invited to be a part of a study group. They had agonised over leaving Jason alone but her little anarchist had made it very clear that he was mature enough to stay at home.

She knew Jason was mad at them. Knew that he was mad at Henry specifically. Jason and Henry these days were fighting all the time and she hoped it was because of the stalker and not because of anything else. She loved both her boys she did but they were too much alike and right now it was showing. She was struggling to get through each day at the moment, she could feel it sapping her of her strength. God knows what it was doing to her children who half understood what was going on and half didn't. She knew they'd have to tell them all the full story. Jason's reaction was proof that this lame excuse of security infringements wasn't going to work for long.

Just maybe tonight though, she thought as she leaned her head on her husband's shoulder and let security drive them back, just for tonight maybe there could be peace.

Suddenly Mike did a sharp turn with the car and Matt who was in the front seat swore sharply. Elizabeth who was half asleep in that drowsy way that three champagnes and three hours sleep did to a person jerked awake suddenly as if she had been waterboarded.

"What's wrong?"

"Madam Secretary—"

"What's wrong Mike?" she said sternly in her best do not fuck with me tone, Daisy thought she had learnt that when she had become powerful but Elizabeth had trained this skill when she had, had three kids all under the age of ten.

Mike twisted in the car to look at her.

"Ma'am with have an issue in the house. A security issue"

"What kind of issue?" Henry asked sharply. "Jason is in that house and he's alone"

Mike paused and then perhaps knowing that she was seconds away from opening the car door put his hand up.

"Ma'am please. We are searching the house. It looks like two of my agents were taken out by unknown forces and the permitter was breached without the alarm going off and—MA'AM!"

But she was already out the car Henry scrambling behind her and she pushed past the agent standing in front door even as Matt and Mike both swore at her to stop. She didn't care…this was her home, this was where her children slept, this was where she was raising her family and she had left her son alone tonight because he was fifteen and she had thought that he was old enough and in reality she was wrong because this threat was large and ugly and vile and—

She pushed into her house and stopped dead Henry crashing in behind her and she scrambled backwards her hand finding his. Jason right now needed the CIA agent that she was to read the room and not the terrified mother.

She took in the ice and water that was rising out of the sink, she took in the lights and she could see it, the alarm being overridden and she looked around and then her eyes zoned in on the edge of the island where just this morning she had made breakfast.

"That's blood"

"Ma'am we don't know—"

"That's blood"

"Yes Ma'am"

"Where is my son?"

Mike turned to look at one of the agents who was sat on her sofa clutching ice to another one's head.

"Ma'am we don't know. We…we think he was in the house and someone bypassed the alarms and—"

"HANG ON A MINUATE—YOU TOLD ME THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE YOU TOLD ME THAT THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS SONG AND DANCE WAS THAT MY SON WAS PROTECTED NO MATTER WHAT? THAT MY CHILDREN WERE SAFE AND NOW YOU CANNOT TELL ME WHERE MY SON IS?"

Damn she was yelling. She was yelling good too. Henry had not said anything, in fact Henry was staring at the edge of the island where the blood was as if it was the secret of the universe. She couldn't look at it. She didn't think that she was ever going to be able to look at it again. For Elizabeth her emotions were all tied up and tied down and all over the place. She couldn't think, couldn't get her brain to work or her heart to stop thudding in her chest and it was easy for her to be angry because angry was so much better than the panic and the pain that was gripping at her too tightly to be able to breathe.

"Ma'am I know…I know this is upsetting—"

"Oh believe me you have not even began to see me upset" she snarled. Mike nodded as if he could understand what she was feeling and that only served to make her more upset because there was no way that he could understand what she was feeling right now.

"He's not here" came a voice to her left.

"What do you mean?" her husband said and she turned to him only to find that he was staring at the stairs as if he expected Jason to come down them seconds later.

"He's not here" one of the agents said. "Ma'am we need to locate both your daughters and we need to get you to a safe place while we conduct an investigation, this house is not secure—"

"What do you mean he's not here?" she repeated through gritted teeth.

There was a pause and Elizabeth was hyper aware that her husband was watching her. She didn't even need to check in with him to know what he was thinking and feeling.

"What do you mean?" she asked again preying that she was hearing it wrong.

"Ma'am. I think we have to assume that your son has been kidnapped"

Yeah. That was what she was afraid off.

And there you go, next chapter is on the way.

Next Chapter-Henry attempts to digress what has happened as Elizabeth and security try to asses the significance of the breach. Henry's POV of this chapter basically.
