Today was a perfect day to help the citizens of Adventure Bay out. Marshall was at the farm, helping Farmer Al herd chickens, the pigs and Bettina into their pens. Only this time, the dally would start having bad luck with clumsiness, unbeknownst to him.

"Thanks for helping with the herds, Marshall!" Farmer Al called out to him.

"You're wel-woooahhhh," Marshall slipped on a wet sponge and fell sideways toward Emma and Corny's pen. Hitting his head on the gate, it swung open, letting the pigs escape.

"Emma, Corny! Come back!!!!" Farmer Al yelled at his pigs while running after them.

"I'll help!" said Marshall, immediately tripping over the same sponge.

"I'll round it up…myself…but thanks…for asking," Farmer Al panted.

"Oh… okay then," said Marshall in a slightly downtrodden voice. He took off, watching Farmer Al fail an attempt to catch Emma.

Marshall found Alex, Julius and Julia playing beside Mr. Porter's Cafe. He sprinted over to them, only to make Mr Porter trip over the dally. Because the dally was going so fast, he knocked over the apple stand and tripped over the sandbox edge.

"I'm good! Sorry for making you trip and knocking your apples over, Mr Porter. I'll clean the mess up for you!" Marshall said. The kids were giggling at his clumsiness.

"We'll help!" chimed in the kids.

"No thank you, Marshall. I can clea-" Mr Porter got cut off by a prolonged splash in the face.

"Sorry…" Marshall said faintly. He tried getting closer to the splattered pies but rolled on some apples and crashed back-first into Mr Porter's face. Marshall's cannons reactivated, spraying more water in Mr Porter and his cafe.

"I'll clean the mess up myself, Marshall. You can play with the pups," said Mr Porter, standing up and scratching his left ear briefly.

The dally went home with a misery storm over his head. I can't do anything right! I'm just a big fat mess and always will be.

"Hey, dude! Come play volleyball with us!" Zuma called out.

Marshall hesitated. "Uhh, I don't know…I don't want to ruin your day after ruining Farmer Al's and Mr Porter's day already."

"Aw, show us what you got, bro," Rubble encouraged, passing the ball.

"Uhh, ok. Here comes a spike!" Marshall rolled the ball over to his friends and bounced it. Leaping, he spiked the ball downwards with all of his might. Maybe a little too far down. The dally witnessed all his friends get tangled up within the volleyball equipment, somehow including Skye. She was right next to Marshall when he spiked.

"Nice spike, bro," Chase muttered with an annoyed tone. The volleyball posts toppled over, along with the tangled pups.

"Sorry pups. I'll help you out!" the dally shouted.

"NO!" The others shouted even louder. This caused Marshall to recoil and cower. As the pups untangled themselves, Ryder approached The Lookout with two large cartridges.

"Hi, pups! As soon as you are all done untangling yourself," Ryder giggled at the mess Marshall created. "Come inside to try out Pup Pup Boogie 2!" The pups all howled and ran towards The Lookout. "Oh, and Marshall, you might wanna clean the volleyball equipment up before you go in. I can help you with the posts if you want," Ryder said, turning to Marshall.

"Oh, uh, thanks, Ryder. I've had a bad klutz day today, so your help might help me avoid more accidents," Marshall said.

"I'm glad to help!" Ryder replied. He walked away with the volleyball poles. This left Marshall to put the net and ball away.

Unfortunately, his klutz streak would continue, even with Ryder's cleanup help. Rubble's water bowl laid in the middle of the doorway, tripping Marshall over yet again.

CRASH

A black, white and dark green blur flew mere centimetres in front of a grey dog with an unknown breed as the side screens got impaled. Rocky yelped and recoiled as he watched the main screen cut to static.

Marshall was still flying through the room after destroying Rocky's train simulator cab. Unfortunately, his trajectory was aimed straight at the TV. "Look out!" the dally yelled. Like Rocky, the other 4 pups recoiled after turning to see the same black, white and dark green blur flying right at them. With one tremendous crash, the TV was impaled, with some of the TV guts visible. Marshall fell to the ground with a groan. He looked up to see his friends, relieved by the lack of injuries, but was horrified by the damage when he turned to look at the TV. "S-sorry.", the dally whimpered.

The pups looked at the TV in horror, but quickly glared at Marshall, full of rage.

"Sorry? Sorry?! All you do is go about life destroying whatever you please, even after you apologize! How could you even be sorry for destroying my train simulator," Rocky growled. He glanced at the TV guts and continued with his rant. "The TV, and countless other destroyed things because of you!?"

Skye was about to scream trash at Marshall when she froze up, falling into a flashback.

Skye was walking down Adventure Avenue during one of her rare downtime days. One of those days where she, or any of you, spends free time alone. Her train of thought was derailed when she heard trash cans being knocked over. The cockapoo ran over to investigate but found nothing. She put the trash back into the bins and put the bins upright before walking away, continuing with her train of thought.

Meanwhile, a grey French Bulldog and a golden Great Dane were crouching behind a fence with a hole in the bottom. An Alaskan Malamute stood atop the left building from where the other two were crouching. They all watched Skye round the corner of the alley.

"Dwayne, knock the trash cans over again, and come back immediately," the French Bulldog whispered, pointing to the Great Dane. "Gasket, attack whoever tries to put the trash cans back up again," the French Bulldog continued over his poorly made pup tag.

"Roger that, sir!" Dwayne loudly whispered back.

"Won't I twist my ankle, Hubcap?" Gasket asked over her pup tag.

"You've done similar jumps in the past. Shut up and do as I say!" Hubcap quietly growled.

With that, Dwayne pounced on the trash cans, sending all of the bins flying. Skye turned around as she watched trash rain all over the place. Stupid racoons, she thought.

A shadow fell onto the cockapoo. She looked up and saw something grey and dirty white careening right at her. Skye tried to roll away from this grey missile headed for her, but Gasket caught her by the rear legs. Skye let out a blood-curdling howl upon being bitten hard in the tail. The Malamute proceeded to leave three deep gashes near the cockapoo's croup, leaving her fighting for consciousness.

"No more gashes, Gasket. We need her to be alive so the PAW Patrol can get her for ransom, or even watch her die if we feel super evil," Hubcap shouted, running towards Gasket. "Carry her by the tail, Gasket. Bite her in the leg or tail if she tries to escape. Dwayne, carry her by the collar. We can both bite her forelegs if Gasket bites this mutt," he finished. They heaved Skye by the legs and collar and flipped her upside down for extra discomfort.

"What's wrong with you three?! Why did you injure me for fun?!" Skye growled, her voice and attempts to escape gradually weakening

"Ready guys? One…Two…Three…Heave h-"

POW

Hubcap and Dwayne's head were crushed by two paws. Pup-fu style, the unknown figure whipped them into the trash tub, slamming the lids shut in the process.

"Marshall!" Skye yipped as loud as she could. Still, her voice sounded just below indoor-room volume.

"HOW DARE YOU THROW OUR LEADER IN THE TRASH!!!" Gasket howled.

"Excuse you! How dare you beat my friend up! If no one is gonna teach you to be nice, I'll teach you how to at least halt your trouble-making plans!" Marshall retorted, barely avoiding being charged at.

"Curse you all! You mutts are useless to the Paw Patrol and were never loved. I'd sug-Oof!" Gasket yelled while getting kicked in the shoulder.

"Take this!" Marshall yelled, giving that final triumphant kick in the shoulder at Gasket. This caused her to fall right into another trash bin. Again, the dally slammed the lid shut and kicked both containers towards the river.

"Marsh…ull," Sky muttered before fainting from blood loss.

"Skye, SKYE, ARE YOU OK?! WAKE…up?" Marshall yelled before seeing the pool of blood beside the cockapoo. "Not good, not good. Arf, bandage roll!" The dally quickly but carefully carted her into his ambulance after wrapping Skye's lower body

"Ryder, Chase, come in! Skye's been injured by some thugs by the name of Hubcap, Gasket and…uhhh…one other really tall jerk. She's unconscious, but I've wrapped her up and have alarms for worsened health. Fortunately, she doesn't need a blood donation. And yes Chase, she's currently okay, according to my medical equipment" Marshall said over his pup tag while driving. He was somehow driving faster than a Dodge Charger's top speed.

"Hmmm…those names sound familiar…" Ryder thought out loud.

"Ryder, sir, they're the Ruff Ruff Pack!" Chase gasped. "They cause trouble by destroying public property, stealing stuff and even…*sniff* beating dogs up. Marshall, you know what happened to my original brother, but Ryder, he…he was beaten to…to death," Chase sobbed.

"Oh Chase, I'm so sorry for you! Feel free to come snuggle with me tonight if that helps you," Ryder emphasized.

"No, I want to sleep with Sk-I mean sleep in my pup house, but thanks for your offer, sir!" Chase responded, quickly correcting his mistake. Marshal just sniggered.

"I might have injured those thugs in return and sent them into the forest, but listen! It was for self-defense!", Marshall hastily added as he drifted into the Lookout's parking lot.

"If they assaulted our teammates or you, I forgive your violent actions. Let's talk more about what we should do about Skye inside," Chase said before he and Ryder hung up. The dally ran inside while carefully carrying an unconscious cockapoo on top of his pup pack.

"Hey, Marshall. Good job rescuing her! I think her injuries are severe enough that you'll need to stick close around her for the night or the next. That doesn't mean you need to sleep with her to monitor her, but I'd suggest parking your truck across from her pup house so you can act quickly enough should her health worsen," Ryder suggested

"Thanks, Ryder. I was thinking of something similar. I'll get the portable devices and get her to bed,"

"And if you try to hit on her or further injure her, I'll feed your liver to Everest," Chase half whispered-half growled in Marshall's ear.

"Don't worry, I won't do anything to her unless the device alarms go off," the dally quietly laughed. He ran out to get his portable medical devices but ended up tripping on a water bowl and sending him crashing into Skye's pup house on the way in.

"Marshall?" The cockapoo groaned groggily.

"Hey, Skye! I'm glad you're awake. I'm setting up some medical devices to hook onto you, then you can sleep," Marshall loudly whispered.

"Sure. Can you get me some water?" The cockapoo whispered back.

"I'm setting up my water dispenser. Once I'm done, you can put some water in your dish. Here," Marshall replied. He lightly kicked the water bowl towards her and landed chest first on the pup house entrance ramp. "I'm ok!"

"Thanks, Marshall," Skye said. Marshall started walking out when he heard another whisper. "One last thing. Do you mind sleeping with me? Just in case I start feeling worse," She asked with puppy eyes.

"Sure! Anything to make your recovery better," Marshall softly replied happily.

"Thank you, Marshall. You are such a great friend," Skye replied before resting her head on Marshall and falling asleep.

"Goodnight, Skye. I hope you recover fast and well," the dally whispered before he too fell asleep.

"You'we not worvy of being in the Paw Patwol if you'we gonna destwoy our fun evewy day!" Zuma barked.

"AARRGGHHHH! Ouch, who bit my tail?!" Chase yelped.

"OWWW, hey, what the heck, Skye?!" Rocky yelled

"SHAME ON EVERYONE!" Skye screamed, startling all of the pups including Marshall. "Except you, Marshall.

"I can't believe you are talking trash about Marshall! Especially you, Chase! You're supposed to be Marshall's best friend, not his worst enemy! We've seen Marshall's clumsiness for years, and now you yell at him? I'm appalled that you can forgive him for breaking the trampoline and tennis ball launcher but you can't forgive him for breaking Rocky's train simulator and TV! Yes, I'm a little mad that this TV is destroyed, but I don't act like it's the end of the world like you 4. We can play Pup Pup Boogie and watch Apollo upstairs! What you're all doing is wrong! Any further negativity towards him could drive him away from the Paw Patrol. Even worse he could," Skye gulped after her exceptionally loud rant at them. "Die at his will. I EXPECT AN APOLOGY FROM YOU ALL TO MARSHALL RIGHT NOW! Otherwise, I can call Ryder and he can give-"

"Woah woah woah, Skye. What's with all the screaming?" Ryder asked

"We're toast," Rubble whispered to Zuma. The Choco lab nodded in worried agreement.

"Who knew Skye could turn this aggressive?" Chase whispered to Rocky.

"Ryder! Chase Rocky, Rubble and Zuma were bullying Marshall for destroying the TV and Rocky's railway simulator. I was gonna threaten to tell you about the bullying, but you came in just as I was making that threat. I was also about to join in, but stopped myself after remembering he stood up and took care of me," Skye angrily cried. Marshall secretly crept out to cry in his pup house.

"Thank you for stopping yourself and standing up for Marshall. I'll have a word with everyone else. You're such a good pup," Ryder said, rubbing her head. "As for you four, you aren't as good of pups as Skye. I'm disappointed in you for what you said to Marshall. I'm appalled that you even acted mean in the first place."

Skye realized that Marshall was missing. During Ryder's lecture to the other pups, she ran over to the dally's pup house, which was thankfully there.

"Hey Marshall, Skye here. Can I talk to you?"

He responded with a brief moment of silence followed by a sniffle. "Oh alright. Just make sure you don't let anyone else come in who isn't ready to apologize." With that, Skye gingerly lifted the door and slid inside. She locked the door in case the others came bursting into Marshall's pup house without knocking.

"Thanks for standing up for me, sis," Marshall whimpered.

"You're welcome. I'm sorry if I startled you too much when I was yelling at the others," Skye whispered.

"Marshall, come in, buddy!" Chase shouted over the dally's pup tag before getting cut off.

"They're right. I'm a walking disaster! All I do is mess up and end up being everyone's party pooper. I don't even know why I'm in the PAW Patrol if I'm this much of a klutz," Marshall quietly sobbed.

"No, you never mess-" Skye began before Marshall's pup tag glowed again.

"Wahhhhh, pwease, pwease fowgive us fow bullying you!" A loud sob could be heard from the other end.

"Do you need more time?" The cockapoo softly asked. She was met with a nod. "Marshall needs more time. Come out when he's ready for your apologies. That means your words will need to wait, Ryder. Tell Chase that I won't consider dating him because he hurt one of my best friends," she savagely finished off before deactivating Marshall's pup tag.

"Marshall, they were just angry and didn't know how to react properly. They don't mean what they said. You heard them trying to apologize. We also need you on the team, and we would never feel the same if you left. Marshall, we love you so, so much."

"Th..thanks, Skye. I still feel like a klutz."

"Aw, your clumsiness is nothing to be ashamed of. Well, unless you somehow knock Everest's liver treat dispenser off a cliff. Then she might rip your guts apart," Skye giggled a bit at this thought. "We'll still love you for who you are, flaws and all."

"sniff...really?"

"Yeah! Like I said, they just handled their emotions poorly."

"sniff…th…thanks, sis. It's good to hear that I'm still loved," Marshal whispered, hugging Skye afterwards and accidentally squishing her against the pup house door.

"Anytime…ugh…Marshall. You're…ugh…squishing me…"

"Sorry, I thought you were a bug that needed squishing," Marshall joked after releasing Skye.

"Haha. Are you ready for the apologies?" Skye inquired with a giggle. Silence answered her for a few moments

"No, I'll ta-yawn-ke a nap and process everyth-yawn-thing in my sleep", Marshall sleepily replied.

"Alright. Let me know if you need me or Ryder for anything. Sleep tight, and remember that we still love you, flaws and all," Skye whispered. She unlocked the door and started heading out.

"Skye, wait!"

"Yes?"

It took a moment to compose himself. "Can you sleep with me tonight? I may want someone nearby in case I still feel down after my nap."

"Sure. I'll do anything to make you happier," Skye replied with a smile.

"Thanks so much sis. You're the new best friend and unofficial sister I could have asked for," Marshall whispered before falling asleep with teary eyes. Skye fell asleep, resting her head on his.

A/N: This one-shot was inspired by Marshall Gone Missing by HavocHound, specifically the what-if part where Skye defends Marshall amidst the bullying. However, I wanted to use a different and more brutal scenario for Skye's flashback, so I didn't look like I was copying HavocHound. Let me know how I can improve my stories or if you want me to extend this story to explore Chase, Rubble, Rocky and Zuma's apology or even a Skarshall (Marshall x Skye) romance story. However, I'll heavily discourage attacking criticism and only encourage constructive criticism.

What Rocky was doing before his train simulator was wrecked was driving a real-life retired KCR Light Rail route (on his train simulator of course). You can read more about Route 506 on the HK Rail Fandom (but make sure to turn english mode on at the bottom of the page).

Thanks for reading my first-ever fanfiction, and have a fantastic rest of your day!
