Sans was sleeping, having a decent dream for once. "Sans, get up!"
"Just a moment, bro."
"Nonsense." Papyrus pulled Sans off the bed, causing his skull to crack at his socket. "Oof, what the hell?"
Papyrus kicked Sans, "Get up you 1hp, lazy sloth. It's amazing you haven't died already." Sans stood up, "Now listen here, I am a decent mmm mmh."
Papyrus' and was over Sans' mouth, "You are not decent. You couldn't beat the kid that lives here if your life depended on it." Papyrus kept his hand where it originally was despite Sans' fingers clawing into it. "Mph hmp."
"This proves why." Papyrus forced Sans against the wall with that very hand. "You can't even get me off of you, pathetic."
Sans was still trying to force Papyrus off of him when he was slapped on his injured eye. "Maybe if you weren't such a lazy slacker, you could manage!"
Papyrus let go of Sans and walked towards the door, "Your ass better be down here in two minutes or I'm removing the bed!" The door slammed when Papyrus left the room. "And no shortcuts!"
"Fuck off!" The door slammed open, "What did you say to me!?" "I said, Fuck off! You are not the boss of me!" Sans found himself held up against the wall, all the pressure on his neck, which Papyrus was gripping tightly, "I am sick of your bullshit." Sans found himself carried down the stairs and thrown to his station, Papyrus not letting go until he was there. "If you move from your station, I will chain you to them from now on!"
"I'm getting dressed. I'm working in my pajamas. Especially in the snow!" Sans went to shortcut only to be pulled back, "What the-" When he looked down he was chained to his sentry station. "Papyrus!"
"I warned you. Don't try to shortcut your way out of this one." Sans' teeth would've shattered if they weren't stuck in place. "It's freezing out here!" Sans shivered, covering his body with his arms.
Papyrus smacked him, "That's your punishment. Maybe you'll learn. I'll be back when you have a sentry change. Don't plan on eating today." "I'm not a child, asshole!"
Papyrus strangled Sans' neck, taking away his breath, "Maybe I wouldn't have to treat you like a child, if you didn't have a mentally of a child." Papyrus dropped Sans and walked away, "It's pathetic I'm your boss, older brother."
Sans shivered throughout the day, starving, from lack of food. "Damn Papyrus, stupid chains!" Sans did try to shortcut when Papyrus let him out of his chains, to be grabbed by him midway through, causing both to fall on the ground.
Papyrus pinned him face first in the snow with his foot, "Take your punishment, you lazy pathetic sloth." "Mph hmp." Papyrus yanked Sans up by the pajama shirt and threw him at the next station, before making the chains tighter. At least Waterfall didn't have snow, Sans guessed.
After Hotland's shift, Papyrus unchained Sans and yelled, "Walk home, and you better not stop at Grillby's. Or I'll throw your bed out!"
Sans, rubbing his socket and not willing to piss his brother off more walked home, embarrassed because of only having his pajamas on.
Soaking wet and cold, Sans entered his house. "So you can follow directions, amazingly enough. Your clothes are on the couch. Get dressed and sit down, we will discuss some things."
"Of course, boss." Sans changed while Papyrus was making food, before sitting on the kitchen chair.
"I know you are aware you are the most pathetic monster underground." Sans nodded. "1hp, sure you can dodge, but forever! Sans, you are a target. I can't protect you, but if they realize I don't give a shit, maybe there's some hope!"
"I can defend myself, asshole!" Hot spaghetti met Sans' injured eye, "Ah!" He screamed while he took the burning food from his eye, "What the hell!?"
"You can't even defend yourself against pasta. You're pathetic Sans. You need me. You took care of me, let me take care of you."
"I don't need protection!" Slap. "You weren't able to feed yourself or get warm all day. I didn't give you jackshit. If you can't win against your own brother, who can you win against?" Papyrus looked Sans in the eyes, "Sans, I could have dusted you if I wanted."
Sans thought about the horrible day, "Okay. I guess maybe I'm an easy target." He was easily able to be chained, and forced to work in pajamas. Could others do that to him, he supposed so.
Sans felt his skull being rubbed, "Now you are learning how pathetic you are. Go clean up and I'll have dinner ready."
"Sure thing, boss." Sans cleaned up for Papyrus, wondering if maybe he did need protection. He did have 1hp. And sure, he could dodge, but Undyne is a stretch.
Monsters kill each other without second thought, and he's never killed anybody, all escaped before he could. Maybe he is pathetic.
He decided if his brother could keep him from being dusted, he could be a little more obedient.
When he was having dinner with Papyrus, he was given a pat on the back as Papyrus left the table, "Good boy, Sans. Maybe you can handle something yourself after all."
"Are you gonna-" Sans saw the look his brother was giving him and gulped, "Never mind, boss." "Finish your sentence!"
Sans thought hard, "Are you gonna let me do dishes?" "Knock yourself out." Papyrus left the kitchen, "I'm going to watch Mettaton's show and I better not hear a complaint!"
"Yes, boss." Sans mumbled while doing dishes. "How does this help me stay alive again!"
"Are you stupid!? If they think I don't give a shit, which I don't, they'll leave you alone." Sans washed another plate, "I didn't think it was a stupid question." "That's how you know you're stupid."
That night Papyrus gave Sans a mantra to complete, "I am Sans. I have 1hp. I am pathetic. I am easily dustable. If not for my brother, I would be dead. I am thankful for my brother and will serve him with respect." That took some arguing and another blow to his eye, Sans gave in.
It took about three months before Sans was completely compliant to Papyrus' demands. Throughout those months Sans would mess up every now and then to be punished whether physically or loss of privileges, but eventually Sans just gave in so he wouldn't be dusted, whether by Papyrus or any other monster.
"Sans, get up!" Sans was immediately up, "Yes, boss?" "Make a decent breakfast. I have to get my armor fitted. Don't screw it up." "Got it." Sans mumbled as he tiredly stumbled down the stairs in order to make eggs.
Papyrus ate them, "You are a decent cook, but we should teach you how to not burn them." "Yes, boss."
