Author Note: Beforehand, this happens after Legend of the Fallen, so prepare for minor spoilers. Plus Ultra! also is *technically* connected, but not actually canon to the timeline, so that one won't have any spoilers. Again, they are only minor, and I'm sure nobody cares anyways.
"And one coffee to-go, please!"
The blue Toad nodded and began tapping on the register. She gave him a quick bow and turned to the window behind her.
"One coffee, and one Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate to-go!" She faced back to him. "If you wouldn't mind waiting..."
"Oh, of course not!" King Olly sat down on a cushy chair.
King Olly Shokunin of the Origami Kingdom, the elder twin of Olivia Shokunin and the proud son of the Origami Craftsman, was folded to life with-and born with-a special technique called Fold of Life. He had gotten too powerful when he found his paper was not only faded but also written on, and turned his fear and anger to his creator. Olivia, with the help of Mario the plumber, snapped King Olly out of his dark daymare and he tried hard to prove he would be worthy of a Kingdom. He and Olivia discovered that they were the reincarnations of Origami Folk from the past named Mani and Sandi. Olivia helped him get past that (As he found Sandi, the one he was reincarnated from, was the younger sister of Mani, who was also a female.), and he had even managed to earn the respect of the Toads when Pech left him to care for her Kingdom while her and her friends were at the Flower Kingdom. She had done that as a test of faith, and was very pleased to see he succeeded. She gave him back his stamp, and he brought the Legion of Stationery back to life.
He noticed the Toad move back to the register, and she moved to the one next to her to serve the red Toad who had come over when King Olly was ordering. She was working by herself, for now, but was doing a fairly good job at it. She examined the two cups. "'King Olly?' Your drinks are ready!"
He came over and accepted them. "Thank you so much. I know how busy you are, Sharon. Especially with Mason going off to College."
She smiled. "Once he's out, I won't need to work so hard. I appreciate that, King Olly. Benedict should be going on shift soon, so he could help with the registers."
King Olly adjusted his grip on the drinks, nodding. "If you ever need anything, you just let me know. Alright? I know this isn't my kingdom, but I was born in it's borders, so it counts."
Sharon laughed. "Let me serve the next customer, King Olly!"
"Ah! Sorry!" He moved away. "And Happy Halloween, by the way!"
"Thank you! And same to you!" She waved to him.
King Olly turned and started towards the door when he slipped on a small puddle of water. He managed to catch himself and Olivia's hot cocoa, but not his coffee. It splashed against the female entering the shop, the brown spreading across her black dress.
"Ah! I'm so, so sorry!" He grabbed handfuls of napkins and handed them to her. "I just slipped and dropped my coffee all over your beautiful dress...Argh!"
She was a pale, flat-chested female with a hooked nose and upturned, amber, slit-pupil eyes. Her silver hair was in a hush cut, it falling to her hips. The dress was floor length and dragged on not far behind her, and an orange crushed wide belt hung loosely at her hips as well. She grimaced at King Olly as he shoved the napkins into her gloved hands.
He bowed. "Again, I am so sorry! I would clean it off myself but..you're a female and that would be uh...pretty awkward..." He stood straight. "Again, so sorry."
He went to the door, hitting her shoulder with his. He stopped and looked at her to see her amber eyes staring back at him, and then left.
Author Note: Alright, this is my first hand at a Halloween story, based off of something Draco and I did that I decided to revive. I'm not good at writing scary things since I'm scared of a lot of things (^^;), but I'm going to try. (Well, it's not really a scary-scary story, but mildly? I don't know.)
Anyways, Fanfiction has some weird bug where I can't see the views on my newly-posted stories so...
Um, Stay Fresh! (Splatoween, maybe?)
