November 20th, 2023. Entry from Dr. Lopez's personal journal.

Today was rather chilly, when I stepped outside earlier this morning. The sun barely showed as it was covered by thick clouds that looked as if it was going to dump snow at any moment, something I very much dreaded ever since November came around for I am not a major fan of snow. Between on how difficult it is to walk on half the time, how it covers my car and driveway up to the point I'm nearly late for work by the time I'm finally done shoveling it, nearly makes me slip whenever I'm either walking downhill or on unplowed roads.

That's not to mention the bone-chilling cold that really strikes you when it's really windy.

Thankfully for my shake; it never snowed. Which really shined the light on my morning that I then spend the rest of it by heading straight to the local coffee shop for my regular Carmel Flavored drink, after retrieving my drink from the drive thru, I head on over to work, where I officially arrived there at about a quarter to eight.

After parking at my usual spot near the front of the building. I entered and greeted several of my fellow coworkers such as: Susan, Mary, Joe, and Peter before finally entering my office, located on the third floor at the far right. Situating myself at my desk, I immediately begin work on several paperwork that's been neatly stacked on my desk before my first patient for the day came in on their scheduled appointment.

They were my usual patients from: Seth, Mike, Stephanie, Joey, Jessie, Danny, and Katie. Who are all lovely people that I came to know over the years of therapy, but right after Katie's appointment, I saw that on my schedule; the parents of Lincoln Loud was next.

Before you accuse me of not liking him, I must make myself very clear that I find the boy to be a very nice kid. I just feel bad for him because of the delusions he unfortunately suffers from.

A further explanation I believe is in order. You see; Lincoln was born as a only child, but despite this fact Lincoln has came up with a sad, but yet festival world where he has ten sisters that are all in different ages, mainly five older ones and five younger ones with him right in the middle. From what I can reduce; the reason why he placed himself as the middle child of his fantasy family is because he wanted to have the responsibility of being an older brother, while also having older sisters to watch over him.

Now the fantasy is one thing to worry over, but what he portrays as his sisters is something else entirely that definitely deserves much more attention for his sanity's shake. You see; his sisters are all actually old mannequins that his mother had kept in the attic of their house. They were all once her late mother's and since her father's retirement home wouldn't allow that many mannequins in his room, they were given to her instead.

But to further pinpoint on this whole strange phenomenon, I must very clearly point out that Lincoln's very worrying behavior didn't start up until he was ten. According to his parents, he had woken up on the morning after his birthday, went up into the attic and brought down all of the mannequins where he places two of each in every upstairs room that wasn't the bathroom or his room. When his parents went up to use the bathroom later that morning, they found him standing in the back of a mannequin line.

Being understandably creeped out by their son's strange behavior, they asked him on what he was exactly doing? In which Lincoln casually tells them that he was waiting in the bathroom line for his sisters got there first.

For weeks after his sudden shift in behavior, his parents tried in vain to snap him out of it by at first gently telling him that they were nothing more than mannequins. However it seems that his new behavior has also given Lincoln selective hearing for he simply wasn't hearing it and proceeded to continue on with this new reality he made up.

Through these delusional episodes; he once uploaded a video of the mannequins for a school contest that freaked out his fellow classmates which then weirded them out when Lincoln then uploaded a whole bunch of embarrassing moments of himself. He also fought himself for money, caused a mess at the grocery store, but perhaps the strangest of them all was when he kicked himself out of the house and dressed himself up in a squirrel suit because he believed that he was bad luck. When his parents found out about that, they quickly brought him back inside the house, but then found him back outside, sleeping on a bunch of leafs the next morning. Then when it came to the squirrel suit, they had to forcibly take it off of him during their trip to the beach, out of fear that Lincoln was going to get himself heatstroke.

My heart really sympathizes for the family, especially from the talks of the boy with the mannequin sisters from everyone in town. This needed to end now before Lincoln's life is destroyed forever with him ending up in a care facility. Believe me when I say that we tried everything to get him out of this world from gently talking to him, giving him medicine, to even sending him away to a Summer camp in hopes that some time out with his friends out in the great outdoors would help clear his mind.

Unfortunately; none of those methods worked, which leaves only one drastic option left: getting rid of the mannequins.

Lincoln may not like it. In fact, he may have a full blown breakdown, but it has to be done in order to save his future sanity.

So that's what I, along with Mrs. and Mr. Loud came up with during our meeting today. The plan was that while he is still at school, they will throw all of those mannequins out straight to the local dump and then who knows what will happen next? Whatever it is, they will prepare for it and keep on trying to restore their son's sanity.

This is all I have for now. I will update this journal tomorrow night.

Closing her brown journal gently. Doctor Lopez sets down her pencil on the top of the desk and stretched her arms up a bit before getting herself up from the wooden chair and looked over to the digital clock on her bedside table. It's very close to six thirty and with her husband out on a current business trip in Great Lake City, she can cook dinner just for her.

She would've loved to go with him to Great Lake City, he even suggested it for they could've had a fun time together over there. Unfortunately due to her own work here at home, she couldn't go with him, which honestly did disappoint her a bit, but she also sees the positive side of that she would have the entire house to herself. She does miss her husband, but he'll be back by Wednesday afternoon so she will see him again in about two days. Until then, she will enjoy the peace and quiet, along with free reign of the TV.

Heading downstairs, Lopez slowly stopped halfway down them, when she suddenly heard the sound of banging from inside the walls. Listening closely to the bangs; they have a certain rhythm to them which quickly discredited the house simply settling or a branch hitting against the house. Her best explanation for the bangs is that a animal; most likely a squirrel or mouse got inside the walls to get out of the November cold, which wouldn't be the first time this happened, in fact this pretty much happens every fall. Lopez doesn't really mind it, unless of course the small animals managed to get themselves into the actual house, then it's a problem.

Being satisfied with her explanation of the mysterious bangs, she continues on her way to the back of the house where her kitchen is located. Opening up the pantry, she scans around inside it until finally finding the spaghetti noodles on the middle self, right next to the jar of pretzels.

Taking it, she places the box on the counter, took out a pot and filled it up with water, where she then places it on the stove and began to boil it. While waiting for that to be done, Lopez then takes out her phone with the African lion case and decided to look at several news articles to pass the time.

From what she read: a new book store has opened up somewhere downtown, which she will definitely check out sometime later this week, on the next page; the new Bigfoot vs the Wolfman film has surprisingly gained good reviews and the Thanksgiving parade is promising several great floats this year, along with several Black Friday sales, and much to her dread snow is supposed to start falling this Friday.

After that last horrible article, Lopez sets her phone down on the counter and went to check on the boiling water which was really bubbling now. Satisfied with the results, she next carefully pours in the spaghetti and began stirring. She didn't get far, when the sound of the backdoor knob jiggling gains her attention. "Huh?"

Turning off the stove, she listens carefully to the jiggling that seemed to get more aggressive with each passing second. Whoever was outside her backdoor wanted in and she highly doubted it was for a nice visit or to borrow a cup of sugar.

Thankfully for her though, she has installed cameras for just in case something like this happens. Royal Woods may be a nice little town with zero crime, but that didn't mean it doesn't happen. Quickly grabbing her phone off the counter, Lopez wastes no time on switching to her backdoor camera.

Through the camera feed, she sees three dark figures with two standing there, while the other one is messing with her doorknob. She couldn't make out any details on these figures due to how dark it was, but that didn't change the fact that there are unknown people trying to break into her house.

Wasting no time, Lopez switches over to her phone contacts, where she speed dials 911, which thankfully she didn't have to wait very long for someone to pickup on the other end. "911. What's your emergency?"

"There are three people trying to break into my house! I need help right away!"

"Alright ma'am, what's your address?"

"9459, Afton St. Please hurry along, they're starting to get aggressive!"

"Police will be right over, ma'am." Hanging up from the other end, Doctor Lopez checks back to her security cameras. The figure that was jiggling on the doorknob is now banging aggressively against the door, while behind the mysterious figure; two more figures have stepped up besides the other two.

Now Lopez was somewhat confident that they wouldn't be able to break down the door for it has two powerful locks installed, but it was in her best interest to have something to defend herself with. Slowly reaching over to the knife rack, she pulls out the sharpest knife, then went on down to her husband's study where she pulls out a handgun from the top-left desk drawer.

To be frankly honest; she really wasn't much of a fan of her husband owning a gun, but now she is very glad that he does indeed have one for now she has something that will scare the intruders away if they somehow managed to get into the house. She'll only fire it, if she really has to, which hopefully it wouldn't come down to it.

Looking back to her phone, two more figures have joined in on the crowd standing in her backyard, making them a total of seven now, which really began to scare her for they certainly have brought numbers with them and she wasn't so sure if even a threat from both a gun and sharp knife would deter them all to retreat. Now she really hoped that the police are closing in on her house at this very moment.

However upon really looking at them, Lopez takes notice on how all the figures are extremely similar in height with each other, right along with looking extremely similar to one another. It should be impossible for no one could look this much alike, unless they were all identical twins of course, but really, what were the odds that seven identical twins decided to break into her home? The answer is extremely low or none.

Whoever these people are? She has to keep a level headed mind for that's the best thing to do when it comes to an extremely dangerous situation such as this. If she starts panicking, she'll surly make a mistake that could very well cost her life.

Exiting out of the study, her next state of plan was to hideout somewhere until the police finally arrived. More banging then came from above her, she doesn't even have a chance to glance upward, when the vent gate burts open and something small, but heavy landed right on her back with arms clamping tightly around her neck, while legs wrapped around her chest.

The sudden constricting hold, forces her to drop both the gun and knife. Gasping for breath, Lopez couldn't scream from how tight the hold was. Desperately she shakes her body to get the attacker off her, while also tightly clenching the arms which strangely felt like plastic. The vice like grip however tightens up even more, getting her out of thinking of that little detail as she continues to thrash around with the color draining from her face, her movements soon begins to slow down, and her overall vision slowly began to darken.

Falling backwards from the lack of oxygen, Lopez crashes her back against the wall, inadvertently loosening up her attacker's death grip. Using the last of her strength, she reaches behind her and manages to take hold of her attacker's shoulders and threw them as hard as she can right against the other wall. Being finally free, fresh air goes into her causing Lopez to cough and wheeze, while also clenching onto her now bright red throat.

Briefly looking up to her attacker, she sees them thrashing about on the floor before getting up to its full height. She says it because her attacker wasn't a person, it was unbelievable and horrifying, it was a child sized, naked mannequin with faceless features.

Going on complete autopilot, Lopez reached for the gun, then aimed it and fired at the head, shattering it into pieces as it fell to the floor completely lifeless.

Regaining her senses and most importantly her thought, Lopez crawled herself over to the laying on its side mannequin. This couldn't be real, she must be dreaming or hallucinating from the lack of air after her strangling, but by touching its plastic arm, she sees as well as feels that this was indeed very real. Just how and why? She honestly doesn't know in her life, but somehow it is happening and now there are mannequins attacking her. The weirdest attackers she has to admit, but regardless she needed to do something about this before.

The sound of footsteps approaching then stops her mid-thought. Looking slowly to her left, Lopez spots another, a bit taller mannequin covered in ash from the fireplace standing at the end of the hall.

Breaking into a run with its arms stretched out. Lopez let's out a scream before firing at the leg, shattering it with deep cracks that completely knocks it down, but didn't stop it as the thing now aggressively crawled towards her. It just gets to her feet, when Lopez fires another round into the head; killing it or turning it back into a normal mannequin, she wasn't completely sure.

Slowly getting back up to her feet, Lopez kicks aside the down mannequin and heads back into the kitchen. From here; she pulls out her phone again and this time there are about nine of them total, with all of them banging against the door just like a group of zombies. She could hear the door straining against them, but she is sure that it will hold.

Suddenly one of the mannequins breaks out of formation and walked a couple feet away to her backyard garden. Picking up something from the garden, it then walks on over to the kitchen window, which made her look up and see it stopping just inches from the window. The mannequin turns out had picked up a rock, which it uses to smash through the window and struck her directly on the head in the progress.

The stinging pain hurts beyond believe as she fell to her knees. Reaching up to her forehead, Lopez pulls her hand back to see fresh blood covering the bottom half as it also began to leak down to her left cheek. Looking back up to the window, three of the mannequins are starting to crawl themselves in. Raising the gun again, she fires more rounds, hitting them each in the heads.

Although they were down for the count, two mannequins swiftly replaced their fallen comrades. taking aim again, Lopez pulls the trigger, but nothing happened, the gun had ran out of ammo much to her terror. The mannequins managed to climb themselves halfway through the window, leaving her in complete desperation on wondering what to do now?

Looking to the knife, she throws it with all her might, it flies through the sky with slow rotation until striking the right one in the face, bringing it down. The other one however paid no mind to its recently fallen buddy as it continues to crawl itself into the house.

Being completely defenseless now, there was only one thing for Doctor Lopez to do now. She runs for the safety of her bedroom, where hopefully she can hold up in until the cops get here. Reaching the stairs, she heard the plastic feet landing on the kitchen, reaching halfway up the stairs she then heard them running, steadily getting louder to her position. Getting to the top of the stairs at last, she breaks for the bedroom, getting inside just as the footsteps reached the top of the stairs.

Slamming the door, she quickly reached over and blocks the door with her desk chair and then stood back against the far corner of the room. The door bangs violently nonstop, which grew louder and louder as if the plastic humanoid was slamming against the door with its shoulder.

On the final slam; the chair fell down. Lopez's eyes widen with sweat mixed with the blood going down her face, knowing what was going to happen next.

Slamming open the door, Lopez let's out a blood curdling scream as the mannequin runs at her with its arms stretched out.

Finally arriving at the house three minutes later. Five police officers stormed themselves into Doctor Lopez's house. Upon stepping in they take notice on a few things such as the two headless mannequins in the downstairs hallway, four other mannequins laying on a broken window with a knife stuck in one of them right along with warm spaghetti on the stove in the kitchen, but most troubling of all is on how quiet it is inside the house.

"Police are here! If there's anyone in the house, come out right now!" One of them called out, only to receive nothing in response.

The homeowner must be too terrified to answer, most likely in fear that the home invaders might be pretending to be a police officer to lure her out. With that being said, they all must be on guard just in case the intruders are still here.

So three officers continue a careful search downstairs, while two other officers slowly went upstairs; where they immediately find the wide open bedroom door with the legs of a chair on the side.

Coming into the bedroom; they quickly took notice of the clear signs of an intense struggle that had happened in here from the picture frames and digital clock on the floor and to the messed up bedsheets. A gut feeling hits them as they connected the puzzle pieces to what had happened here tonight and it wasn't looking good at all.

One of them then glances over to the slightly opened closet door. Despite not wanting to, his curiosity slowly drives him towards the closet doors.

Opening it very slowly to the point it made a very creepy squeak. The officer felt the life leave from him as right there, hanging from a belt is Doctor Lopez with her eyes slightly open and tongue hanging out in a frozen state of terror.

Through her eyes, Dr. Lopez saw a giant pencil drawing the scene in some sort of cartoon style. Witnessing all of this made her really question whether her reality was actually real.
