Chapter 1: The Birth of the Prince

Year X775, June 18th

It was nighttime in Fiore, near the border of Seven, with the stars twinkling in the sky and the moon shining brightly. The nocturnal creatures roamed through the forest, while the people slept soundly. However, not everyone was resting.

In a giant village surrounded by trees, the lights were on, festival equipment had been set up, and many people had gathered in front of a large mansion. This mansion was home to the village leader and his family, and tonight, a new member would be born.

Inside the Mansion

In the leader's room in the mansion, screaming came from within. A woman's voice cried out, a voluptuous woman with brown eyes and long scarlet hair. She wore a white hospital gown and screamed as she gave birth to her baby.

"Keep pushing, my lady; you're almost there," one of the nurses said to the laboring woman. "She's right; I can see the waist. Just one more push," another nurse said. "Aaaaaahhhhhh!" The woman screamed again and pushed one last time. Then another voice rang out in the room.

"Waaaaah! Waaaaah! Waaaaah!"

"Congratulations, my lady, it's a boy!" the nurse exclaimed as she held a newborn scarlet-haired baby boy. She and the other nurses cut the umbilical cord and began to clean him up. "A boy?" the woman asked as she breathed in and out, trying to catch her breath after giving birth. The nurse gently passed the child to the mother.

She managed to put on a smile as she looked at her newborn son. "My son, my baby son, I have a beautiful baby boy," she said, with tears of happiness in her eyes. She felt like some darkness in her heart had been fully purged, she truly felt like a human again.

She then looked at her baby boy. His hair was scarlet just like hers, but darker. Though as she looked at her son, he almost seemed to remind her of someone else.

The thought of another red-haired baby came to her mind, and she felt a lot of guilt. That was ten years ago, so why was she thinking about it now? Her thoughts were then broken when the door of the room opened, and a man in his mid-30s entered. He had tan skin, stood around 6'6" tall, and was muscular. His long, spiky black hair and spiky beard contrasted sharply with his ruby red eyes, which could send shivers down your spine if he glared at you.

He wore a black haori over a white shirt, gray pants with shin guards, and black combat boots. Despite his face appearing intimidating, you could see the care in his eyes.

As he saw his wife holding their newborn child on the bed, he grew a smile. "So, how is it?" he asked his lover as he walked over to her. The woman smiled, "It's a boy, and he's healthy." She spoke with care in her voice.

The new parents smiled at their baby boy as he slept in his mother's arms. He opened his eyes, revealing crimson red eyes like his father, but retaining the sharpness of his mother. He looked at his parents with curiosity, and they greeted him with loving smiles. "Hello, my son," said the man. "Gugu, gugu," replied the baby. "What are you going to name him, Tylzerd?" she asked, revealing the man's name. Tylzerd thought for a moment before deciding on a name.

"I'll name him after my ancestor, the man who built this village, Jarek." Tylzerd said, naming his son after his ancestor. Once everyone heard the birth of Jarek, and it was a celebration that day. Celebration their leader's child's birth with a festival of the village's hero and founder.

They celebrated this day because over 400 years ago, their founder founded and built the village on this day, June 18th. During a devastating war, the founder, Jarek Stracolt Sr. went in search of a place to build a home for those who had lost loved ones. When he found an area suitable for building a new home, so his people can be safe, he named the village "Kakureta." A village surrounded by trees.

Year X777, July 7th

Two years has passed since Jarek's birth, and life was great for the now two year-old. He has caring caretakers, amazing chefs, and the most loving parents. His father was the chief of the village and his mother was the chieftess. Things was looking great for that two year-old, even if he can't understand what's going on. But something happened one day.

Jarek's mother gave her son a bath after finding him playing and covered in dirt and mud, which understandably caused her to lose it like any other mother. As she was washing him off, she could have sworn she saw his arm shining. It was almost like a sparkle.

She thought that it was because of the soap and water, but as she looked closer at his arm, her eyes widened in shock and horror. The reason why his arms were shining was because they were... tiny scales.

Tiny dragon scales.

She backed away from her child in horror, as her past came back to haunt her once again, and it was affecting her son. "How, how is this possible?!" she cried out. 'There was no way that my other side would be passed down, so how, HOW!' She mentally screamed. Then she remembered she felt something, a magical energy during Jarek's birth.

She paid it no mind, because of the birth of her son and thought that it was just her imagination; but as she tried to sense the same magical energy again, she eventually did, and it was coming from her own son, and the energy felt exactly the same—that of both a Dragon and a Dragon Seed.

Jarek's mother was beyond shocked; she had absolutely no idea how this could be possible. Her son is a human and dragon hybrid, which means he was born with the power and magic of a dragon. Which means she is truly no longer human.

Jarek was confused by not being bathed by his mother, he turned to look at her, seeing her horrified face. He tilted his head in confusion; why was his mother looking horrified? He didn't know or understand.

"Mama," the redhead baby babbled as he reached out to his mother. He's mother just looked at him with terror in her eyes. But she didn't see Jarek, no she saw the redhead baby again and all of her past and nightmares came back to her and the darkness has returned inside her. All she felt was so much regret and a thought came in her head, thinking that she doesn't deserve this perfect life.

So when night hit, she decided to leave her perfect life, leaving her village, husband, and son behind just as she had done with her first child, 12 years ago. She left because she wanted to protect the ones she loved from herself. "I'm such a coward."

She cursed at herself in sorrow as she ran. As she was running, she stopped and looked up to the sky, sending something. Then her face turned from sorrow to serious.

"...I smell dragons."

Five months

It's been months since his wife has left him. Jarek, though only an toddler, knows what is going on. He knows that his mother has left, but he just doesn't know why. Tylzerd simply stares up, wondering where his love is now.

He remembers how he met her. 10 years ago, it was a normal day in the village, then a strange but beautiful woman came along injured. He and his villagers treated her, then he and the woman got along then eventually the two got married and years later got a kid.

He saw snowflakes falling from the gray sky and looked down at his village, watching it slowly turn white under the blanket of snow. He could already see children in coats and snow gear, already playing in the snow with happiness on their faces, as the parents watched.

He then imagines his son as one of the children and his wife as one of the parents; that puts a sad smile on his face. Then he felt something or someone pulling on his pants legs.

He looked down only to see he's two year old son looking at him with saddened eyes. "Papa, when mama coming home?" He asked him. It was a never ending question.

"I don't know kiddo, I just don't know", he responded the same answer. Every since his beloved wife had disappear (or better yet left), Jarek has been asking the same question to his father which his father always gave him the same answer.

Jarek looked down with a sad expression; he truly missed his mother. He couldn't help but to think that the reason why she left was because of him. Ever since that day, she had acted strangely around him; did he do something to make her leave?

Noticing his son expression, Tylzerd picked his son and put him on his shoulder. "But where ever she, I know that she is safe and well." He said comforting he's son.

"Really?" He asked.

"Really." Tylzerd replied.

This made Jarek smile a little, which Tylzerd noticed and smiled at. "Who knows, maybe one day in the future, she'll come back to us...or if not, you or I might even encounter her one day ourselves."

"Really?!" He asked again but this time with excitement.

"Really." Tylzerd replied while chuckling.

Having said that, both father and son looked down at the snowy village below and saw the rest of the villagers enjoying the snowy day. Seeing the happiness of the people, Jarek smiled widely, revealing his sharp canines. He then took a deep breath and shouted.

"HEY MOMMY IF YOU CAN HEAR ME THEN I'LL SEE YOU AGAIN AND WHEN I DO WE'LL ALL BE HAPPY AGAIN!!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs which surprised his dad, for a toddler he has a strong voice. But hearing his son saying all that he couldn't help but smile.

Outside the village, on a hill, stood a figure wearing a cloak and gazing down upon the village. Hearing Jarek's voice, the figure allowed a small smile to appear on their face.

"I know we will, but we won't be happy," the figure said as it was revealed to be Jarek's mother, who is better known as...

Irene Belserion, The Queen of Dragons and The Sage Dragon.

Irene then turned and walked away. "See you soon, my little prince." she said while walking off. One day, both the queen and prince will cross paths once more after a terrible tragedy, and they will begin a new destiny together.
