Author's Note: It has always bothered me how easily Angela gave into Jane during the scene where she tells her to grab her stuff because she's no longer staying at Maura's. Especially since she already viewed her as family at this point. Honestly I felt like that wasn't Jane's thing to decide.

"Ma, get your stuff."
"Jane Clementine Rizzoli!" Angela replied sternly.
"What? Your middle name is Clementine?" Maura asked.
"Thank you. Thank you very much."
"I thought it was pretty."
"You're not staying here anymore."
"What... this isn't necessary."
"What, because your family is so screwed up, now you need mine?" Jane snapped.
Angela opened her mouth to let out a sigh or a protest but nothing came out. Jane looked at her.
"What? You're the one who always says that blood is thicker than water. So, choose."
Angela hesitated, her gaze shifting from Maura to Jane.
"Hello? That's water. I'm blood."
"Enough!" Angela yelled.
Jane's anger softened as quickly as it fired up. Maura looked between the Rizzoli women, slightly startled.
"I used to believe blood was thicker than water but I don't think that anymore. Not after all Maura has done for me. Maura is family. She let me come and live with her when I had nowhere else to go. I am not going to stand here and be pulled around. I am not going to choose sides."
Because to Angela, Maura was like her daughter too. And she couldn't leave one to please the other. She almost regretted what she said when she saw the hurt in Jane's eyes but she stood her ground.
"Okay, you know what? Suit yourself. Sit here together and drink your excrement tea."
Jane turned away and let herself out of the house. Deep down, she knew her mother's comment was true. But she was too upset and hurt to accept it right now.
