Prologue: The Twist in Fate

At a playground, The Children were playing around with either friends, Family or there pets. The sound of laughter was heard through out the field aswell as genuine noises made around by the rides in the playground.

But, One child stood back through all this and just looked at all the children playing around with happinesses. She had blonde hair that were tied into a pony tail and was wearing a sun dress with a white skirt. She also held on to a Yellow Teddy bear. She is Chloe Bourgeois. The daughter of the Mayor and Famous Fashion designer. Right now, For so long she had been watching the other kids her age enjoy the happiness and joy around the playground that was making her feel even more down.

'Why, Why can't I feel this.' Her thought lingering on to this as she was goung back in certain memories that were still stained in her mind. The time her mother left her out and went out for her own career on Fashion Designer. She could still remember the back that was turned to her as her mother left and didn't even bat an eye at her.'Am I, Just a disappointment to her that she doesn't even see me back. Or not even giving a Goodbye.'

For the past days after her mother left. She had been thinking that she had been the cause of her moving away and making the family split apart. Her Father didn't blame her as he tended her crying heart,But. The Damage was done and nothing could have been done to ease it. She tried to think on what else to do. She had no friends, No one that could help her in her endeavours she was feeling.

"Hey, Wanna play"

She stopped in her thoughts as she thought she just heard something. As a matter of fact she did! Those words spoken to her right now. She turned to the right ti see who called her out or was it her imagination. But, It was someone.

Standing beside her was a boy her age. He looked foreign with the looks as he was japanese. He had small brown hair and blue eyes that were like a ruby gem. He wore a simple small pants and white shirt that had kanji written over it. He had his hand in front of her as he was asking her.

Chloe was not to understand this. A boy came out of no where and was asking her a question or was it a request. She wasn't that stupid to understand any of this. But, She had her own thoughts as to understand."Um... Are you asking me?"

"Yup!" With a loud P he said that."So, Wanna play with me! There are good. rides hear and I think it be good to ride with you on them. So what you say!" He asked her in excitement.

Chloe didn't know what to say as she was trying to understand the situation."Um, I don't think that's a good idea. You can ask someone else to play with you as there are many and also they have other friends." She muttered.

"Whats the point in that. You look like you wanna have some fun aswell but you can't cause your holding your self back. Why do that and lose your own chance." Chloe was surprised hearing this as he grabbed her hand by surprise."Come on, Lets play."

"Hey wai-" But she was pulled along as he guided her to the rides.'What is happening?! why is this guy trying to do. Should I call for help.' As she was pulled along she thought about it but stopped as she let him continue.'Lets see how this plays out and then I'll see what he's up to.'

So she and the boy both went on the rides as she and him first went on the swings. She and him had started to go on and on fast as like a competition was on or something. Chloe didn't even know what she was doing and why but for some reason she was enjoying it. After the swings they went to the see saw and then the slide. Because of the hight of it she was afraid of coming down but just as the thought came to her the boy incouraged her and told her it be ok. She hesitated at first but then nodded as she went down the slide. And it was amazing to feal the thrill as she slides down. The boy then took her to the ice cream man, She thought she was going to pay but to her surprise the boy already had money and payed for both of there icecreams.

They sat on the bench as they eated there treats."It was fun today. Wasn't it!" He asked her as he ate his mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Chloe couldn't help but agree."Yeah, It was fun. I didn't know the excitement of going down a slide and even on Swings."

"I know what you mean. Its always fun to ride it with someone else as it gets to give excitement in it. By the way I forget to introduce my self. The names Riko, Narumi Riko. Nice to meet you."

So thats his name."I'm Chloe Bourgeois. Why did you say your last name first. Is this some sorth of tradition?" She asked as the boy nodded.

"Yup, In my culture. Introduce your self with your family name first and your name last. It's way to introduce your self to others."

"So, Your Japanese then. I knew your looks were familiar. So why are you hear?"

"Family Business, My Dad was offered a time hear in Paris to look at some cases that have been on along."He proudly said as Chloe gave him a questionable look."My dads a super awesome Hard Boiled Detective! He solved cases that were to hard for the police and even had his own agency in matter as he solves cases for others who come there."

"Hm, Sound like his your idiol then." Riko looked at her with excited gaze as she said that."You bet he is! He even had fought a Spider monster back when it attacked a musical theatre!"

Now this got Chloe to look at him like he was crazy."Spider Monster? Really?"

"Yeah! I'm not even making it up even if I wanted to. Chloe you gotta believe it. When me and a friend of mine went to the theater to see the proformance. The creature attacked there and was in capturing the singer. But, My Dad was there and guess what he used the surroundings to his advantage and used it to defeat the Spider monster. The Monster got away but my Dad managed to stop him there and that. It was amazing!" He explained to her with every details. Chloe didn't know to believe him or not."After that, I and my friend have both made a Vow that we will become Hard Boiled detectives together like my dad is."

"So, Your Dad is like a super hero then." Chloe said as Riko nodded."Must be great to have an idol father. My Dad is the Mayor and he gets me the things I want, But, I don't know if he actually be my idiol."

"Why's that?"

"..."

"So, No biggie then. You cant tell me later of you want." Riko told her as he can respect her privacy."So, Why were you all alone there."

"...I didn't know if i could make friends. And I thought that they'll use me for my dad reputation." Riko could see her look."Don't worry then. I'm not gonna use your dad's reputation for my needs. What kind of hard boiled I be if I do that. And what kind if friend I'll be aswell."

Chloe heard that and looked at her in surprise look."Friend... Do you actually mean it? But we just meet today. How can we be friends."

"It's easy, My Kaa-san always told me that stranger are those friends who you haven't meet yet. I came hear to make friends and your my first then." He held his hand up towards her and holding his treat on the other."So, How about it."

Chloe looked at his hand and thought about what he said. He was genuinely telling the truth and he also was saying was right."I don't know for sure it will work." She thought down.

"There's no reason to feel down Chole, I get it that your afraid or not feeling it but its all right to feel it sometimes. But, I promise you this that I won't let you feel down. Your my first friend and I'm hear to help you. So just give it a try and see what happens." He truthfully told her as She thought about it. He was right. She could give it a try instead of holding her back. If she didn't then she'll keep on losing it.

She slowly got her free hand towards her as she accepted it. Riko smiled as he shook it."Yes, So for now on we are friends!"

Chloe looked at him cheering around and accidentally dropping his ice cream. He soon was now on the ground in despair. She couldn't help but giggle at his antics. But, In her heart she felt something. she felt a certain kind of goodness in it as she felt joy in accepting his request.

"Riko! Its time to go my boy!" They looked ti see a man standing in a white business suite with a fedora on his head.

"Hai,Tou-san! Come on chloe let me introduce you to my Dad. Your gonna love him." Riko said excitedly as he grabbed her hand as she didn't complain at all. She was pulled with him as she and him reached the man."Tou-san! Tou-san! Meet my new friend. We meet today and she and I are best friends now!"

The man chuckled as he patted at his son antiques."Well, Looks like you have a keen eye. Hello young on. How are you?"

Chloe greeted the man as she could feel a bit nervous around him but held her self well. The man gave her a kind smile as he didn't have any ill attention."Hello there, Its seems my son had made you a friend aswell. Hope he didn't upset you or anything." His accent was different but at the same time ok. Chloe just shook her head at his question."Well that's good. I was actually wondering who he will befriend."

"And you knew then! you can guess that easily." Riko cheered as his father pat his head. He then took Chloe hand."Say Dad, Can me and Chloe go on another playdate. Please!'

Chloe gained a surprised look as she heard those words. What more surprising was the father nodded in approval. This caused chole to lit up in joy and happiness as she felt before. She finally made another friend and the one who was willingly want to be by her side.

Now, Her fate took a turn as once was the girl who grew up to become something she's not. Now taking change into becoming someone who will change others fate.
