Jack O'Neill sat next to Samantha Carter in her lab. They had been home when the call came. Something urgent that only could be fixed by Colonel Carter, Jack hadn't paid attention because he was frustrated as soon as he saw who the caller was that was popping up on Sam's phone.

He knew before that this day couldn't go uninterrupted. Why he knew? Because it was them and because it was the SGC. For once in their lives it was quiet around the universe, but surely not today.

He wasn't around as much as he used to since he retired. Sure he was a consultant when needed and he made use of his position more often than not to stick around the base, but he loved to have time for his other interests.

For one he bought a dog. They bought a dog.

He was fidgeting with something on Sam's table, he didn't know what it was, but it could be taken apart and had a pin at the end which he was able to flip, and that he did.

It was driving Sam nuts, but she tried not to say something. She knew how tense he was and she couldn't blame him. She also wanted the day to go slightly different.

She worked as fast as she could.

Flip. Flip. Flip.

She groaned but Jack didn't notice.

His mind was wandering again. The dog was one of two things he had planned on when he retired. On the second one he was still working. Because as he once said to Cassie years ago: every kid on earth needs a dog.

So one out of two, who cares in which Reihenfolge he did it.

Flip. Flip. Flip.

"Argh... Jack!" Sam groaned frustrated.

"What?" he asked, really not knowing what bothered her.

"Give me that, before anything happens." she said.

"Why? Could it blow up?"

"In your hands? Possibly!" she said and he made a frustrated face. "No Jack, but it's driving me nuts, I don't want to be the one responsible to harm you. This flipping around, I can't concentrate and I think it's in your interest that I finish this as soon as possible."

"You're thinking just right. Ok, ok, I'll behave."

"Thank you!" she said erleichtert and turned back to her work.

10 minutes later she was done. She sent the files to the General to let him know she was done and would be leaving now.

Turning to Jack she let out a breath and said. "I'm done."

"Really?"

"Yes!"

"You're finished? We can leave?"

"Yes!"

"So, we can go and finally get married now?"

"Yes, Jack. We can go now!"

She shrugged out of her lab coat to reveal her white dress underneath as she looked at him.

He looked good in his suite. She kissed the tip of his nose and took his hand.

"Come on Jack," she said, squeezing his hand and winking at him. "Let's get married!"
