A snowstorm raged outside, making the dark skies yet more desolate. It was truly a lonely night. "Come on, Tails! It always seems you're too busy to hang out anymore." Sonic whined. He had about as much as he could take of Tails ignoring him.

"Dude, we had bros night like… last week, and it's already late. Work with what you got. I don't have quite the free time I did seven years ago." Tails rebounded.

"You know what? It sounds like you don't wanna be friends anymore. If that weren't the case, you would tell me why you can't."

"I could tell you, but you wouldn't believe me." Tails countered.

"That's what you said last time, you child. Ya left me alone with Knuckles last time, and it hurts being all the brains in the room." He complained, before hanging up on Tails.

He was slightly offended by Sonic hanging up on him, but he didn't have the time to be upset. "What did he say?" Amy asked, walking up to him.

"He's considering just dropping me and not being friends anymore." Tails sighed sadly.

Amy sighed also. "If spending time with him means us seeing each other less, I understand. You've been best friends for over a decade, and I won't get in your way."

"You aren't the problem, princess. We are." He explained, kissing her cheek. "If I told him about us, he'd sooner kill me than forgive me. The entire time, you two were meant for each other, and I am the one in the way."

"You're leaving a lot to chance, aren't you?" Amy figured, grabbing both of his hands. "I'm not going to make you pick between us. How about you cancel this tonight and hang out with him? He wouldn't suspect as much if you did that."

"Impossible." Tails decided. "You're the one who broke me out of prison, helped me with all my problems, and brought me out of depression. I'm all yours, not his." He wrapped his arms around Amy and pulled her in for a kiss, which she was beyond delighted to return. Amy threw her arms around his neck and they embraced.

A good time later, they broke their kiss. "I'm all yours, Miles." Amy confessed.

"All mine, princess." Tails repeated, finding joy in that. He leaned his head on her shoulder as she did the same, practically cuddling standing up.

"Care to get on with it, Miley?" Amy begged. "A two hour film's not gonna watch itself. My chances of getting home by midnight are rapidly dropping."

"Who said you needed to get home tonight?" He flirted, winking at Amy. He grabbed her hand and led her into the front room. He had Codependent Design ready to go.

"Miles! You're making me feel some sort of way…" Amy scolded. She joined Tails under a thick blanket on a huge red beanbag chair he had set up. Almost immediately, she leaned into him. She wouldn't give up that feeling for the world.

Tails threw his shirt off excitingly, setting her head directly on his chest fur. "Fluffy enough for you, princess?" He teased. "You wouldn't have it any other way."

"Mhm." Amy mumbled. Tails started the movie as the two got comfortable with each other. As would be expected for a romance, as certain scenes played, Tails or Amy would get cuddles or kisses as it felt right.

Both were sufficiently taken care of for the first half hour of the movie. Both also anticipated the next romantic scene, whether to give or receive some affection from the other. Amy was almost asleep in Tails' lap, maneuvered into a sleepy state by his stroking her quills. Just as she was about to close her eyes, Tails adjusted his position on the beanbag. At the same time, the vampire scene rolled on screen.

Amy, who flinched at the mere sight of blood, turned to Tails, burying her face comfortably in his chest fur. Tails laughed. "Too scared, cupcake?" He teased.

"I just wanna be loved on, Miley." She pleaded.

Tails looked down at her and smiled. She was cute and just wanted to be doted on. How could he say no? Tails grabbed the remote to pause the movie and set it back down. He smiled seeing Amy curled up in his lap. He raised her front quills to kiss her forehead, returning to running his fingers through her quills.

It didn't seem real to Tails. Here Amy was, his girlfriend, and not Sonic's. He briefly paused, holding one of her quills. He looked at the pink fur between his fingers and still couldn't believe his luck. Amy turned to face away from Tails, still in his lap. She whimpered slightly, indicating her desire for Tails to keep petting her.

"Really pushing your limits, eh cupcake? You spoiled little brat." Tails jeered, feigning annoyance. It warmed his heart to hear Amy chuckle at that; she loved it. He never understood why she liked being talked down, yet never questioned it. He quickly glanced over at the vampire on the screen and got an idea.

He gently started to kiss the right side of her neck, making her slowly get up. With Tails' right arm around her, she couldn't fully sit up. Tails kept at it, getting rewarded with sighs and giggles from his princess. He was really going for it, causing yet more pressure.

"M-Miles…" Amy stuttered. "Feels so good!"

Tails was encouraged by this. He wrapped both of his arms around Amy, gently starting to bite.

"Miley!" She gasped. "Watch yourself!"

Tails took a short break. "Come on, cupcake." He begged. "If you hated it, you wouldn't smile so much!" Just like that, Tails continued at his previous spot, incrementally starting to bite like a vampire. He could feel Amy squeeze him when he did so, but she never resisted. She let Tails continue for just a couple minutes more before she started to push him away. He got the hint and stopped.

"That was crazy hot." Amy whispered, making him blush. "You should try the likes of that more often."

"As you wish, princess." He responded, getting up. "I'm gonna get us some popcorn."

Amy pushed him aside, laying him across the beanbag. "Allow me." She explained. "You really woke me up, Miley. I'll get us some drinks, too."

"You sure? If you are, I won't stop you."

"Yep. Won't be a minute. Try not to miss me too bad." Amy laughed. She kissed his forehead in return, got up, and left for Tails' basement minibar, starting some popcorn and grabbing a couple of sodas from the fridge. Tails had about gotten comfortable again before someone knocked on his door.

Without much thinking, he answered. To his surprise, there stood Sonic, looking unimpressed.

"Tails, I could see through your blinds you're watching a movie." Sonic complained. "If you didn't want to hang out, you could have told me. You didn't have to make crazy excuses like 'you wouldn't believe me.' Also, don't you have a shirt?"

"Again, it's not quite what it seems." Tails reasoned. "It's more complicated than that."

"Yeah? Explain it to me then." Sonic pouted, crossing his arms.

"Miley? Where'd you go?" Amy asked, coming back up the stairs to not find Tails where he was just seconds ago.

"Miley?" He mocked. "Look buddy, you coulda told me you had a girl over, and that woulda been fine by me. To drag my intelligence into this… it's unappreciated." He entered the house unprompted, with no respect to Tails' privacy.

Almost immediately, he was confronted by Amy, turning a corner. "Hey, Ames." Sonic greeted casually. He turned back to Tails. "So, who's the lucky lady?"

"About that girl-" Tails began, before again being interrupted.

"Amy, come here." Sonic ordered. Amy did as told. "You've got a large mark on the side of your neck. Listen, if Tails made that bruise-"

"It's not a bruise, man." Tails retorted quickly, without thinking.

"How does he" Sonic breathed. He noticed both Tails and Amy looking at each other, frightened. "Know…" He finished. Sonic put together Amy's voice and the girl who called to him. "IMPOSSIBLE!"

Tails pushed his way past Amy to face Sonic. "Sonic, you were not supposed to know about us. If you're gonna get mad, take it out on me, not her. Please." He begged. "I know she was meant to be yours, but I got in the way anyway." Tails started crying. "I couldn't help myself!" He sobbed, clinging to Sonic.

By the time Sonic looked up at Amy, she was staring right back at him. "You were not to break in here." She charged. "Regardless, I got tired of waiting for you. Be as mad at us as you want."

Sonic wrapped his arms around Tails. "There's no such thing as meant for someone else, buddy. Amy and I were never actually together." He explained. "In fact, I'm quite happy for you two. Never would have seen the two of you coming, but here we are. I'm not mad, Tails. I'm both impressed and satisfied."

"You mean… you want us to be together?" Tails asked, sniffling. "I thought you wanted Amy."

"Never have." He retorted bluntly. "I'm glad someone worthy enough to take my place has. She's been looking for a good man quite some time now. I'd say she's found one." Sonic let Tails go, yet still ruffled his bangs playfully.

"I'm the reason why guys' night hasn't been happening." Amy explained. "We figured you'd never forgive us if you knew Tails and I were a couple."

"I know now, and I'm okay with it. Less time you try to keep yourselves under the radar, the more time I get with Tails. Amy's all yours! Go official if you want to!" Sonic concluded. "Overall, my congratulations to both of you and sorry for breaking in." With those words, Sonic left. Tails held onto Amy, trying to stop crying.

"We're safe now." Amy comforted him, rubbing his back. "There is nothing to be afraid of. He likes us together, and honestly, I do too. You're all mine, Miley." She kissed his nose.

Tails blushed, clearing his eyes one last time. "Thanks, Amy. I needed that." He said. "Although I am the one who gave us away. 'Not a bruise,' what was I thinking?"

"Haha. I'm not afraid to have us known as a couple anymore. Besides, you left a mark - showoff." Amy taunted, running her finger along the mark on her neck flirtatiously.

Tails grabbed the popcorn bag from the table as Amy took the sodas. He held her free hand with his and led her back to their beanbag. "I don't have a mark." He flirted. "Care to try on me, cupcake?"

"If you insist." Amy replied with false concern. She was looking forward to this. "Someone where everyone can see you're all mine…"

CONCLUSION

Again, this was fun! I'm thinking about starting a series called "Crushes Revealed," in which one or more characters figures out someone's crush. Should I go for it?
