A/N: Hey! I just thought of this idea now, and I had to share it. This was inspired by sideshowjazz1's many stories like this, Totally Awkward World Tour, Total Drama The Skilled Prodigy, and all other stories like this, good or otherwise.
Premise: Hope and Hayden are two totally different people. But when they both audition for Total Drama, the fact that they're twins- and nobody realises it- they realise that this is the perfect opportunity for a win.
Oh, and another thing. The story takes place in 2023, not 2006/7.
Chapter One: Why We Auditioned
Hope
I think me and Hayden were destined to be born to two different people. We have no similarities in appearance except that we're pale-skinned. He has brown hair, I'm a blondie. He's on the short side, I'm taller than average. He's charismatic, and I'm awkward. My parents sometimes joke that we're more cousins than twins, since my aunt had a miscarriage right when we were born. And if my aunt was gonna have one of us, it would be Hayden. That would be great. I mean, I love my brother, but he sure as hell likes to use up all the storage on our phone with stuff like Twerk Race 3D, Become A Queen, and one of those weird choices stories that seem to have the girls in a maid costume and the boys looking at their butt- according to all the commercials.
"Heya, Hope! Do you think you can 'hope' I make it onto Total Drama?" Hayden asks, running into our room.
"Wait, wait, wait," I say, running in too. "What's Total Drama?"
Hayden replies, "A reality show. On an island! They're looking for two people, after two of the contestants had to leave immediately. And the auditions are closing in an hour!"
I'm curious about this. A reality show? "Hey, how can you audition?" I ask him. "Seems fun, maybe I'd like to try it."
"Go to https. .ca. That's where they're doing the auditions," Hayden explains. "But there's a bunch of other main character wannabes auditioning too."
I chuckle. I've met plenty of main character girls at school. "Hey, can we both audition on one clip?" I ask.
Hayden thinks to himself for a moment, and I see a lightbulb go off. "They'd sure as heck accept twins. That would be peak drama! And it is Total Drama," he says. "Let's do it!"
"Okay, is the camera on?" I ask. "You do know how to upload videos to your files..right?"
"Duh," Hayden says. "You think I don't know how to upload files? And the camera is turning on in ten seconds. Quick, sit down!"
As I stumble and sit, the camera turns on. "Hey, I'm Hayden," Hayden says.
I add, "And I'm Hope. We're fraternal twins, which means we don't look alike. And we think it would be good to join Total Drama!"
Hayden continues, "Hope and I both have unique personalities. Hope is kind but quiet, while I'm charismatic and theatre-loving."
"Please accept us!" We both say, laughing as the camera turns off.
Hayden
"That was genius!" I exclaim to my sister, Hope. She seems like she really likes the idea of Total Drama. "Maybe if you auditioned for the school play last year, you would've made it!"
"Whatever," Hope says, rolling her eyes playfully. "There's a difference between acting and auditioning."
I nod, knowing she's correct. "I think the results will be in tomorrow. I wonder who will get picked."
Hope says, "If it's us, our mom will never let us go on. And there's a rare chance we'll get picked anyway."
"Exactly," I say. "But let's send in the audition, just so we can say we did." I go to the camera, and take out the- whatever the thing that saves data is called. I then put it into the computer, and it saves.
Hope seems shocked that I can do this. "Wow..you actually can do that."
"Yup," I say. I then go to the total drama website, and put in the link, while also giving our emails, proof of our ages, and then I submit the form. "Holy shit! There's two thousand applicants!"
Hope laughs. "You're acting like some of them aren't AI bots?"
"Says the person who uses character ai and chats with teenage on-" I start, but Hope covers my mouth.
"You know my mom dosen't like character ai!" Hope exclaims. "You can't talk about it, or I'll talk about choices."
That shuts me up. I know Hope hates those games, and she's the favourite twin. "Alright, alright." I fake zip my mouth, and smile at her. "All quiet for me!"
"DINNER!" Our mom calls. We get up, and run to the table.
"Big appetite, huh? Must've been a big day today, right? Last days are always like that," our mom asks.
Hope says, "Totally. Nathan got into a fistfight with Other Nathan, and it was INSANE."
"Wait, I missed that?" I ask. "Who won?"
"Other Nathan," Hope says. "Lots of drama."
I sigh with relief. "Great, I bet Stephen that the other Nathan would stand up to Nathan."
Hope rolls her eyes. "Oh great, a black market," she mumbles.
"It's not a black market! Remember in fifth grade, when Mr Hugo made us give him our shoes for the stapler? Now that's a black market," I say. "Not a simple bet."
Our mom sighs. "You two always have to bicker. Hey, I'd love to tell you guys some news!"
"What?" Hope and I ask.
"Today, I signed you two up for a summer program at Uptown Playerz as a camper!" My mom says.
Hope and I look at eachother, upset. Uptown Playerz is where eight year olds play laser tag. And even worse, We'll be the eldest people there!
I say, "Please, no," just as Hope exclaims, "What the hell, mom?" We both look at eachother, and snicker.
"Come on, you loved it there," Our mom says.
I yell, "WHEN WE WERE EIGHT! We're grown up now."
"Exactly!" Hope adds. "Please, don't make us go!"
Our mom sighs, and looks at us. "If you promise to not sit around, I'll give your spots to the Oakley children next door."
"Great, those two will love it more than us," I say. "Thank goodness."
As the two of us eat, I get a ping. "Hm?" I ask, opening my phone. Just then, Hope gets the same ping and opens it too.
"No phones at the table!" Our mom says. But we're already going to our emails. I look at mine, and I gasp in shock.
It's from THE TOTAL DRAMA EXECUTIVES!
