Thanks for Resch for the conversation about "hot firemen" that led to finding a picture of a fireman that made me think, "I could see Wheeler as this." So I shared the picture with Louise who suggested I should go with the inspiration. I joked that "maybe a Hallween fic is needed," and here we are! Felt like a good time for another "holiday" fic. Hope you enjoy it!
Summary: Wheeler's Halloween costume gets some attention. Not appropriate for kids!
The Planeteers were invited to a costume party and decided to go as a theme and chose first responders. Kwame and Ma-Ti were dressed as police officers. Gi and Linka were a team of paramedics. Wheeler thought he would make a perfect fireman. Everyone else was ready and waiting for him at the Geo Cruiser.
"He better never complain about us taking too long to get ready for something ever again!" Linka tells Gi.
"Yeah, seriously. How long does it take to put on pants, boots, and a jack-whoa," Gi stops mid-sentence.
Linka turns to see what has gotten Gi's attention.
"Bozhe moy," she says under her breath.
The red head is walking towards them wearing the helmet, boots, and pants with suspenders…and nothing else. The pants are big and baggy, hanging low on his hips. They would be around his ankles if not for the suspenders. His broad shoulders holding the red suspenders, his muscular arms swinging at his sides, his chest, his abs, every well-defined one of them: The eight that were visible and then there was the "v" that teased just above the waist of the sagging pants.
Linka realizes she's staring and covers by yelling at him.
"We are waiting on you and you are not even finished getting dressed!"
"I am finished."
"Umm, ok. I'll be the one to state the obvious," Kwame says. "You're missing the shirt and jacket."
"Yeah, I had my buddy who works for FDNY send me some retired gear that he can no longer use so it would be an authentic outfit and not some tacky store bought thing…no offense," he says, taking in his friends' costumes from a costume shop. "Problem is, he's a little taller than me, so the jacket was like, six inches past my hands and falling off my shoulders, so I couldn't wear it."
"What about that FDNY t-shirt you wear around the island," Ma-Ti points out.
"Yeah, but I mostly wear that when I'm working out. It's in the laundry now and I don't have time to wash it, so I figured I'd improvise and go as a Fireman Calendar." He pulls a piece of paper out of the large pockets and attaches it to the front of his pants with a paper clip. It simply says, "October" in his handwriting. "I'm Mr. October. Not to be confused with New York Yankees' great, Reggie Jackson, who has the same nickname for his clutch post season performances."
"That's actually pretty creative," Gi admits.
"Thank you! What do you think, Babe? Would you 'FALL' for Mr. October?"
"Nyet. Now we have all wasted our money because we cannot go to the party if you are going to be dressed so inappropriately."
"Relax. It's not like it's a kids' party. We were invited by Bambi Blight. There's gonna be a bunch of Hollywood types there, some probably wearing a lot less than me."
"Oh, so that is it. This is to get her attention," Linka seethes.
"Actually, it was to get yours…I think it worked," he says, winking at Kwame and Ma-Ti.
"I am staying out of this one," Ma-Ti says as he gets in the Geo Cruiser, followed by Kwame.
"Besides, haven't you read the latest? Bambi is dating Derek Dawson," Wheeler informs her.
"Come on, Linka. Wheeler's right," Gi says. "Bambi and Derek met on her last film and have been seen around town quite often. They even arrived at the premiere together. Plus, those Swedish twins that co-starred with them might be at the party."
Gi steps in front of Linka and unbuttons the top two buttons of her top so that it matches hers.
"And these were meant to be worn like this, according to the picture."
"I am not going," she says, crossing her arms.
"Fine. More twins for me," Gi says, joining Kwame and Ma-Ti in the Geo Cruiser.
Linka turns and begins walking back towards her cabin.
Wheeler sighs and mumbles to himself.
"You're so infuriating…but you asked for it."
He catches up to her and swoops her up, throwing her over his shoulder in a classic "fireman's carry."
"Put me down!" She smacks his back. From her vantage point, she can see down the back of his pants. His boxers have flames around the waistband. She considers reaching down and giving him a wedgie, but before she has a chance, he's carried her into the Geo Cruiser, plops her down into a seat, and buckles her in.
She opens her mouth and is about to lay into him, but he puts his hand over her mouth and says,
"Not a word or I'll have to give you mouth to mouth to shut you up."
She closes her mouth and exhales loudly through her nose to express her ire.
"Let's go Kwa-man!"
A few hours later, they arrive at Bambi Blight's mansion where they are greeted by the actress and her new beau.
"You made it! I was worried you'd get called away on a mission…and you came as heroes…but of a different sort."
"And you two are Wheeler and Linka," Gi laughs.
"Yes! And we have the whole team. Three more of our friends are you, Kwame, and Ma-Ti and a fourth is Captain Planet!"
"We cannot wait to meet them!" Kwame says.
"They'll be so excited to meet you," Derek tells them.
"Nice costume, Wheeler…or should I say, Mr. October?" Bambi says with a laugh.
"Thanks," he flexes. "Linka loves it."
Linka rolls her eyes.
"I hope I've made a convincing Linka," Bambi asks the blonde Planeteer.
"You did it before for a movie. You have done it again, very convincingly," Linka reassures her.
"Hey Bambi, just out of curiosity…are the twins from your last movie here?" Gi asks, hoping to provide a distraction for Linka.
"Yes! They're actually dressed as Kwame and Ma-Ti."
"Noooo! We can't flirt with them if they look like those two!"
"Hey! Trying not to be offended," Ma-Ti jokes.
"You know what I meant! It would be too weird."
They're interrupted by a buxom brunette dressed as a not so angelic angel.
"Bambi, are you going to introduce me to your friends?"
"Maxie, these are the Planeteers…the real ones."
"Nice to meet you," she says pretending to be addressing the whole group but holding her hand out to Wheeler. "I have a fire that needs put out. Do you think you have a hose that's long enough?"
"Maybe the Water Planeteer can douse you?" Gi warns, polishing her ring on her shirt.
"Or the Wind Planeteer can blow you away," Linka adds.
Trying to keep the peace, Bambi says,
"Why don't you all go help yourselves to the buffet. There's an open bar if you want some adult beverages or water. Maxie, will you come with me and help me figure out how to get the music going? I can never seem to get the speakers to connect."
After saving her friend from the wrath of the female Planeteers, Bambi gets the music going with a selection of Halloween songs.
The Planeteers have sat down with their dinner plates.
"I'm gonna grab a beer. You guys want anything?" Wheeler asks.
"I am sticking with water if the rest of you would like to drink. I can fly home later," Linka offers.
"I will stick with water as well, to co-pilot," Ma-Ti says. "I will help you carry the drinks, Wheeler."
As they stand in line at the bar, they're approached by two men in dresses.
"Hey handsome. Buy you a drink?" The taller one asks Wheeler.
"Uhh, they're free, sooooo…"
"Ok, fine. Then you can buy us drinks."
"Umm, ok. Have as many as you want," Wheeler replies, playing along.
"I think he's trying to get us drunk!" The shorter one says to his friend.
"That's not necessary. We'll dance with you stone cold sober. Just let us know when you're ready to continue your strip tease act. We'd be happy to help."
Ma-Ti can no longer hold in his laughter.
"Surely there will be a good song that would be perfect. Something from Rocky Horror Picture Show, perhaps?"
"Perfect!"
"Sorry fellas…err, ladies…my uh, girlfriend is the jealous type. I'm already in the doghouse for my costume choice, so I need to be on my best behavior and not draw any more attention to myself," he says, pointing over to Linka who is glaring at him. He waves and she responds back with a single finger salute.
Ma-Ti and Wheeler's admirers laugh.
"Oooh, she's a feisty one."
"She should've never let you leave the house looking like that."
"Come to think of it, she did try to keep you at home with her, but you decided to force her to come to the party," Ma-Ti reminds him.
They're finally at the front of the line and place their drink orders.
"Well, if you change your mind, we'll be around."
They get back to their table and deliver the drinks to their friends. After finishing their meal, they get up to free up the table to for others who may need a place to sit and eat and begin to mingle amongst the crowd.
"Babe, I need a favor."
"Whatever it is, the answer is 'nyet.'"
"Come on…it's an easy one."
"What?" She asks, annoyed.
"Pretend to be my girlfriend to keep the vultures away."
"It did not seem to bother you when the slutty angel was giving you attention."
"That was also unwanted attention."
"Like hell. Look at yourself. You knew what you were doing. I even said before we left that it was not appropriate."
"That's what you said. But your eyes said something different. You actually like my costume."
She takes a step closer to him and raises up on her toes to get closer to his ear. He holds his breath as he waits for her next move.
"You only want me to pretend to be your girlfriend?"
"I'm ok with it being a real thing too."
She responds by pouring her glass of ice water down his pants.
"Shit!" He hisses as the ice-cold water trickles down his legs. "Not a place you wanna give a guy frostbite. I might need a paramedic to warm me up."
She huffs and says,
"I will send a drag queen over to help you."
She turns and walks away.
"Here we go again." He follows after her and once again scoops her up and carries her over his shoulder. "I don't want a drag queen. I want a Russian princess."
"Put me down!"
He ignores her and maneuvers them through the crowd.
"Sorry, s'cuse us folks. Rescue in progress."
"I mean it, Yankee. Put me down or else!"
"Or else what?! I think I have all the power right now."
She takes the opportunity to do what she didn't have the chance to do earlier, reaches into his baggy pants, grabs the waistband of his boxers, and pulls with all her might, giving him a very good wedgie.
"You're gonna pay for that," he promises.
Wheeler comes to the pool house, clearly empty since the pool has been closed for the season. Decorations and pool accessories lay in the corner. Cabana furniture fills the rest of the room. Wheeler sets Linka in a large chair with a thick turquoise cushion and braces his hands on the arms of the chair so that she's trapped.
"Guess I'll just have to hang out in here to protect myself from the unwanted attention."
"Fine, but why do you need to hold me hostage?"
"For the wanted attention," he says, slowly standing up and watching her eyes pass over his body until they meet his.
"We could have had a whole island to ourselves if you had not insisted on coming here."
"Don't act like you'd have done anything about it. You wouldn't have then, and you won't now." He reaches into his pants and returns his boxers to a more comfortable position before putting his hands on his hips, daring her to deny it.
Linka reaches out to pull off the "October" sign and tosses it aside.
"You know my birthday is in a few days."
"Yeah. You can unwrap your present early if you want," he leers.
"You keep challenging me. You think I will not do anything."
"Why should I think you will? All these years…just waiting on you to make what you want to happen next known. I already know I have."
She pushes herself up out of the chair and runs her hands up along his suspenders. Once she reaches the top of his shoulders, she hooks her fingers under the red straps and eases them down his shoulders, letting her fingers trace his biceps. The weight of the gear combined with the fact that it was already too big on him to begin with has it easily dropping to his ankles. She turns him around, switching places with him, and knocking him off balance as his feet get twisted in the pants and boots. He drops down into the chair that Linka previously occupied. He kicks his feet free and spreads his legs so that she can stand between them.
Linka leans forward until their lips meet. Their hungry mouths begin to consume each other. Finally. No interruptions. Needing something to do with his hands, he puts them on her hips and pulls her forward. She straddles his hips and settles over top of him. He breaks their kiss momentarily.
"Just remember, you dumped cold water on me and there may be a slight degree of shrinkage."
"Have I not been successful in warming you up?"
"You have…but feel free to try harder."
"Are you just going to sit there and do nothing while I do all the work?" She teases.
"Just didn't want to scare you away," he says as he closes the short distance between them to resume their kiss.
"I am not going anywhere," she responds against his lips.
Wheeler's hands trail up her sides from her hips and begin to slowly undo the buttons of her top and then push it off her shoulders. His fingertips skim over the newly exposed skin. He moves his lips from her mouth to her neck. She melts into him, her body flush against his as she allows her own lips to press against his throbbing jugular. His hand goes to the back of her head, and he pulls gently on her hair.
"I don't wanna stop…but I don't wanna do this here."
"I agree," she sighs and slides her arms around his back as she rests her head on his shoulder to regain her composure.
He puts his arms around her and holds her to him, turning his head to press his lips to her temple.
"We need to get out of here."
"Can't we just stay a little longer?"
"Nyet, I meant the party. We must have the others think that we cannot stand being here any longer and leave to go home."
"So we ruin their fun to have our own?"
"Would you rather stay here a few more hours and waste more time?" She asks.
"Screw them and their good time. You get the Geo Cruiser fired up since you're the designated flyer. I'll find the others and let them know we gotta go and thank Bambi for a great party."
"Ok."
She puts her shirt back on and straightens her outfit, fixing her hair and making sure her buttons are all done correctly. He steps into his boots and pants and pulls them back up.
"Hey," he says, reaching out to rest his hand on her cheek. "Nothing changes when we get back to Hope Island, right? This is just 'pause,' not 'stop,' ok?"
"Da. Keep that outfit on and come to my cabin."
"You got it," he says, leaning in to kiss her. "Gonna be hard pretending to be mad at you the whole flight home."
"Why would you be mad at me? I am the one who has to be mad at you…and I am used to that, so I can play the part easily!"
"Wow, ok. So that's how it's gonna be. You're making this easy to give you the silent treatment then," he teases.
They put their plan into place. Ma-Ti sits in the co-pilot seat, Gi sits behind her with Kwame behind Ma-Ti, and Wheeler sits in the very back. Most of the flight was silent. Every once in a while, one of the others would comment on some of the other costumes. When they finally landed, Linka was the last to get out of the Geo Cruiser as she shuts it down.
"Do you want to talk?" Gi asks Linka before she gets out.
"Nyet, thank you. I am just going to go to my cabin and do some reading.
Outside the Geo Cruiser, Kwame has a similar conversation with Wheeler.
"Are you ok?"
"Fine. Just the usual BS. I'm just gonna listen to some music and chill the rest of the night."
Wheeler walks ahead and goes to his cabin.
Kwame and Ma-Ti wait for Gi to see how her conversation went with Linka and she just shakes her head.
"Do not worry, my friends. They are fine," Ma-Ti reassures them.
"Yeah, I know. They always work it out," Gi says.
"No, I mean now. They are not fighting. Quite the opposite."
"What do you mean?" Kwame asks.
"I used my ring to reach out to Wheeler. The feelings I was picking up from him did not match the way he was acting. Same with Linka. I think we have been tricked so they can have a treat," Ma-Ti snickers.
They stop their conversation as Linka exits the Geo Cruiser.
"Goodnight. Sorry for ruining your fun," she apologizes on her way past them.
"It is fine. Halloween was never a holiday I paid much attention to. Have a goodnight," Ma-Ti says. "I do not think we should spy on them, but I would not be surprised if one of them slips into the other's cabin later."
"Those sneaks! I have a half a mind to go knocking on their doors!" Gi says.
"No. This is something we have all been waiting for. Something that needs to happen for all our sanity! I say we change out of these costumes and meet up in the commons room to watch some cheesy Halloween movies. Nothing scary."
"Ok, fine. I'll get them back later! Relentless teasing!"
Linka was pacing in front of her door when there is finally a knock. She opens it while his fist is still raised and ready to tap on the door. She grabs his wrist and pulls him through the doorway.
"What took you so long?" She asks.
"I was waiting for the others to go away. They were lingering on the beach. I figured they were making plans for the rest of the evening. I wanted to give them time to change and meet up again so they wouldn't catch me."
"Should I be concerned with how good you are with sneaking around with girls?"
"You should feel comforted in knowing that we can do this sneaking around for as long as you want," he says, putting his arm around her waist and pulling her to him. "Assuming you liked what you saw in the pool house."
"I did," she replies, once again pulling the suspenders off his shoulders and letting the pants drop.
He steps out of the boots and reaches for her shirt, watching appreciatively as he reveals her to him with each button that he undoes. His lips soon explore what his eyes have just memorized. His hands cupping and massaging whatever they can reach. He lifts her and she wraps her legs around his waist as he carries her over to the bed and lays her down in the center of it. Her fingers tangle in his hair as his lips move down her body, over her bra, down to the belt buckle of her pants. He begins to remove the obstruction. She raises her hips to help him in his task. He takes a moment to admire the beauty laying before him in nothing but a matching bra and panties, the black silk contrasting against her pale skin. Linka reaches out to take hold of his shoulders and pulls him down so that she can kiss him. He settles into the cradle of her thighs and rocks into her, causing her to whimper into his mouth. He's encouraged by the fact that she seemed to enjoy their current position and the way he was moving against her.
Wheeler takes the next step and unhooks her bra, freeing her and granting him access to areas yet to be explored. He breaks their kiss to look at her and dips his head to brush his lips over her creamy skin before taking her into his mouth.
"Bozhe moy," she gasps.
"You're even more perfect that I ever imagined."
"This moment is perfect."
"I can make it better."
He barely finishes his sentence and proves his point to her by caressing her through the thin silk covering her. She grabs his hips and pulls him forward by the waistband of his boxers. He pushes them off his hips so that he's completely naked.
"Uh uh…no more wedgies," he warns.
She giggles and begins pushing her own underwear down, hoping that he takes the hint and helps her to get them the rest of the way off. He happily obliges. His fingers skim back up her legs, teasing her, causing her to inhale sharply.
"Sorry."
"Nyet…more."
He covers her body with his, kissing his way up her neck until he reaches her lips. As he teases her mouth open with his, the passion of their kiss taking over, he positions their lower bodies so that they're aligned, and he prepares to press into her.
"Ready?" He sighs against her lips.
"Da."
He buries himself as deeply as he can and waits for her to begin encouraging him to move. She rolls her hips forward and continues to do so to get as much out of their connection as she can. He withdraws and penetrates slowly, alternating between long strokes and short bursts. It doesn't take long for them to find a compatible rhythm that has them both falling over the edge together in a flurry of breathless declarations of love whispered against each other's lips.
He rolls off her and wraps them in the sheets, planning on a night of content slumber.
"Wheeler?"
"Hmm?"
"For the record, you did have a hose long enough to put out the fire."
That was the last thing he expected to hear her say and bursts into laughter.
"Do you want to let that Angel know, or should I?"
"She will just have to keep wondering! Only I will ever know." Linka joins him in laughing and curls into his side until their laughter subsides and they drift off to sleep.
The End
