Hey, this is my second fanfic I'm very excited about this one.

Hoping to make the chapters long with maybe less regular posts. This story will be a long one as I dive into what would happen after the trio leave Hogwarts and begin their own lives, but with a huge (and very dark) twist!!

p.s-some of the facts or anything that happens in my fic won't all be canon or true to the franchise so don't come for me hahaha, but do leave suggestions I'm always willing to adjust my storylines and characters.

It had been 5 years since Voldemort's defeat. Nothing had quite felt the same since, as if the world was empty. In a good way of course, everyone could live without fear of being caught, tortured, attacked or even killed.

And yet comfort for the golden trio did not come easy. They had only now started to overcome the trauma they faced growing up. Going to sleep each night without a looming dark figure hunting then down each second of every day was a start, having eachother for support only cemented their friendships.

Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley are now dating, they have been for quite some time. It was inevitable of course, and everyone knew it. Harry decided not to return to Hogwarts to take NEWTs and yet still became head Auror appointed by the Minister for Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt. Ginny had continued her passion for Quidditch as she now plays professionally for the Holyhead Harpies. The pair couldn't be happier with each other as they share their own place in London, not far from their friends of course.

A similar story tells for Ron Weasley. Currently in a strong and very loving relationship with Hermione Granger, Ron also decided to not return to Hogwarts like Harry, unlike his girlfriend who couldn't be more keen to sit her NEWTs. Ron had been appointed as an Auror by Kingsley but instead of working his way up the ranks like Harry did, it was too much for Ron who was brought back to the pain he felt from the second wizarding war, where he had lost his brother Fred Weasley and many others who he had cared for deeply. Instead, he decided to join George Weasley at their shop Weasleys Wizard Wheezes which thrives at the top of a lively diagon alley. Hermione had aced her NEWTs and was appointed as Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcements, a title well respected and recognised by her peers. She continues to fight the prejudice of her blood status and even though this is no longer an issue for witches and wizards like her, it doesn't help being constantly reminded of one's differences every day through a mark on her skin. Yes it still hadn't faded, even as hard as Hermione had scrubbed at it.

Luna Lovegood decided to explore her interest in Magizoology, discovering numerous magical creatures never introduced before to the wizarding world. She stays on the outskirts of london, fluttering from place to place bringing her myriads of trained beasts along the way. Luna had stayed in contact with her friends from Hogwarts, after everything they'd been through it would be rude not too, and regularly met up with someone deeply special to her, yes it was a boy!

Neville Longbottom follows in his friends footsteps as he also becomes an Auror, wanting to make his parents proud of him. No matter the pain it causes him having to relive those memories, he will always visit his parents, as he only lives 5 minutes from the hospital to feel close to them. They would be so proud of the boy they once knew and loved so dearly. Neville was also interested in returning to Hogwarts one day, as a true and worthy Gryffindor he would make an excellent professor.

Molly and Arthur Weasley were the merriest of them all. The retired couple thrived off of seeing their children and friends in their new and very much safer lifestyles as they had experienced only years ago. They couldn't be happier, except the arrival of any grandchildren in the future perhaps! The pair organise weekly family meals where they bring all loved ones to a huge magical (of course) feast, they keep up to date with work and relationship news-and the odd bit of gossip! The couple however do struggle with the memory of their lost son, Fred. But by finding a way to channel their emotions into positive thoughts, Fred will always be remembered as a courageous and caring character never failing to make anyone laugh. It was George who struggled the most of course, staying alone in the upstairs bedroom of his shop. He still had Ron, and as co-business owners, it was nice for George to have company. But no one could fill the void of his twin, his other half.

Minerva Mcgonagall had been appointed headmistress of Hogwarts, and rightfully so. She had received a Merlin for her efforts in the 2nd wizarding war, which she still reflected remembering those who perished that awful day. She sprung flowers out each anniversary for those lost, and sat at the graves of Severus Snape and Albus Dumbledore as if waiting for her once friends to return. She was happy, in a lonely kind of way.

All of the remaining supporters of Voldemort had either perished or been sent to Askaban for their crimes. Except the Malfoys, of course, who managed to swindle their way out of their own customary cell. The trio hadn't seen or heard from them since that day 5 years ago, it was as if they didn't exist anymore. Maybe they liked it that way. Harry, Ron and Hermione sure did. Though they couldn't help but wonder what had happened to Draco, one could only feel sorry for the poor boy. He only wanted to be heard, and now no one could hear him, or see him for that matter. Even though the family had escaped the remains of life locked away, their current situation felt no different. Practically social rejects, as many former dark wizards that escaped custody had become. With no real leader most were forced into hiding.

Everyone's lives were as perfect as they could be, given their past experiences.

It was as if everything was a little too perfect...

This was just an introduction don't worry the chapters will be longer!

Can't wait to continue, I have so many ideas I want to portray into this story I hope someone enjoys it at least :))
