A/N: This is my first new fanfic of 2023 lol I apologize for not posting new stories since last year, I decided that I was going to take a 7 month break (Starting in February of this year) from writing stories but now I'm back and ready to write more this month :)

Anyways, I absolutely LOVED the One Piece live action series and think it's one of the best live action adaptations I ever seen in a while! So I thought hey! Why not make a fanfic of it? lol

Remember, this is strictly based on the live action One Piece, not the anime. Just a reminder and heads up :) This is my first One Piece fic so I hope I did a good job at writing it.

Midnight Snack

"Zoro… Oh Zoro?" Luffy whispered into a sleeping Zoro's ear, but all Luffy got in response is Zoro's snores.

Luffy tried one last time and this final try was surely gonna wake him up for sure. He climbed on top of Zoro and shouted, "ZORO! ARE YOU AWAKE?!" and that did the trick, he jumped and sat straight up from his hammock, making Luffy hop off of him.

"Oh great! You're awake!" Luffy said, smiling.

"Luffy, what the hell did you just wake me up from my sleep for?" Zoro snapped at him, clearly not happy being woken up in the middle of the night. "It's in the middle of the night so you better have a good reason for waking me up" Not gonna lie, Zoro snapping and yelling at him caught Luffy since Zoro was always calm and quiet.

"Actually, I do, I was wondering if you know where that last piece of meat on the bone that we had earlier tonight for dinner" Luffy explained to him. "I woke up in the middle of the night because my stomach was growling and it woke me up"

Zoro sighed, "I get it now, you were looking for a midnight snack, can't say I'm surprised but no, Luffy, I didn't eat it, why would I anyway?"

"Because you loved it the most, almost more than I did if you ask me" Luffy shrugged.

"Well, I didn't eat that last piece now please let me sleep" Zoro turned over and tried to get back to sleep but Luffy just kept talking to him.

Luffy had a look of confusion on his face now, "Okay, so if you didn't do it, then who did?"

"I don't even know why you're asking me because I don't know, maybe Usopp or Nami ate it or something" Zoro shook his head. "It's gone now but I'm sure you'll find something else to eat in the kitchen. Look, if you want, I can help you find something for a midnight snack"

"That would be great, Zoro! Thanks! You're a true pal, you know that?" Luffy said to him, smiling.

Zoro sighed and gave Luffy a small smile, "It's no problem", he got up from his hammock and hopped down on the floor of the Going Merry ship.

With that, Luffy and a still tired Zoro went to the kitchen to find Luffy something to eat for his midnight snack.

"Okay, so what is it in particular do you have the stomach for? I mean, the last meat on the bone is gone, so you'll have to choose something else to eat"

Luffy yawned but he still thought about what he felt like eating. "Hmmm, I don't know. I kinda want you to surprise me with anything because I'm too tired to know what I wanna eat"

Zoro sighed and shook his head, "Alright then" he went into the fridge and decided to try his best to make Luffy the most delicious sandwich. Sanji should have been the one to make Luffy something to eat, not Zoro and yet here he is making him a chicken and ham sandwich on a long roll with lettuce, cheese, tomato, and pickles. He didn't have to, he could have declined and went back to sleep but something inside him told him to help his friend out and not leave him hanging.

He finally finished the sandwich and handed it to Luffy on a plate and gave him a drink of water so he can wash it down. "There, I made you a sandwich, is it to your liking?" He asked, yawning.

Luffy yawned again and smiled, "Yes, it is, thanks Zoro! This looks delicious"

"Good, glad you're satisfied. Now can I please go to bed now?"

"Wait, before you go back to bed, I just wanna say that you're a good friend. You know, you didn't have to do this for me but you did anyway, why? Because you care about me that's why" Luffy chuckled. "Just so you know, I appreciate you, Zoro"

Zoro's lips curled into a small smile and his cheeks lit up red, he looked down on the ground to hide that blush, "Uh… well, thank you, I guess, I…. feel the same way about you too. Goodnight"

"Goodnight to you too, Zoro! Bye the way, this sandwich is really good" Luffy complimented. "You don't usually make anything so this isn't bad for someone who doesn't cook"

"A sandwich isn't that challenging to make but thanks, I'm happy you enjoy it"

"You know what I'm gonna call this? The Zoro special! Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?" Luffy took another bite out of the sandwich.

Zoro sighed and did a slight shrug, he really didn't feel like stretching this conversation with Luffy any longer, he wanted to go catch his Z's, "I mean, I guess it's not that bad. Again, goodnight Luffy. I'll see you in the morning and please don't wake me up in the middle of the night like this again to make you something when you're hungry, next time, ask Sanji"

"Sure thing! Goodnight again, Zoro!"

With that, Zoro left the kitchen to go back to sleep and after Luffy ate his midnight snack, he went right back to sleep, everything turned out good because they both got what they wanted in the end.

As for that last meat on the bone, as it turns out, it was Usopp that was the one that ate that last piece hours earlier that night before Luffy woke up with an empty stomach, he had admitted it the next morning during breakfast when Luffy asked about it. He cared about his crew and their well-being, so Luffy didn't have any ill feelings towards him about it since it wasn't that big of a deal, he was just wondering who ate it.

However, he did give Usopp and his crew a friendly reminder though, next time they had meat on the bone for dinner and there was a last piece leftover, he told his crew straight up,

"That last piece is mine for a midnight snack so please don't try to eat it"
