The Desire Grand Prix, otherwise known as the DGP does not exist. Run by outside forces from another world, and organized by beings wanting for personal entertainment, the games are founded.
Every time the games begin new, the Game Master recruits those of the current world to become a part of it. Through the Games Navigator, Tsumuri, everyday citizens of the world are welcomed into the DGP as players, known as Kamen Riders. Every Kamen Rider takes part in a series of games, and trials, all for the ultimate prize on the line, to rewrite the world as they wish. To obtain what they otherwise couldn't. Get back what was lost. Or undo what was wrong. All according to the desires of the victor.
The current game cycle is coming to an end with the final boss having arrived to act as the final challenge for the Kamen Riders. When the cycle started, there were exactly twenty-five players, all with their own set desires and ambitions. As the games went on, those numbers dwindled rapidly. For the final game, there are only four that remain.
When a game starts, a barrier is put around a piece of a city, and made into a zone. This is created by the Jyamato. The enemies the Kamen Riders face as part of the games. Through playing these games, the Riders are able to save those trapped inside the barrier. If the Riders fail, the zone is lost.
The current game is Defend the Castle, with the Kamen Riders being the invaders. The Jyamato have a castle. The Kamen Riders have to destroy it within the given time to end the game. Should they fail, the zone and those lost during the game will vanish. The castle is located in the center of the zone, its location known to all the remaining Riders. However, protecting the castle is a horde of Jyamato. They come in various types. Pawns are the most common, mostly fighting unarmed. For this game, there are strong Jyamato. Armed with bladed weapons, they range in strength, becoming a greater challenge for the remaining Kamen Riders.
The remaining Kamen Riders fight their way through the hordes while on-route to the castle. Every Jyamato cut down by them adds to their score. Regardless of who destroys the castle, the player with the highest score is the overall winner. Destroying the castle does reward the destroyer with a jackpot of points.
With the castle in eye-sight, the Riders advance forward. Leading the charge through the horde is player Kamen Rider Obsidian. Currently second place on the leaderboard in terms of points, Obsidian rampages through the horde, swinging their armed mace on a chain like it was his personal wrecking ball.
Last on the leaderboard, and following after Obsidian, player Kamen Rider Emperor uses an armed crossbow to snipe at the horde of Jyamato before they even get close to him. Every common Jyamato he takes down adds to his steadily growing score.
Using the Desire Driver, the players are able to achieve their Kamen Rider forms. By default, they all share the same entry form. A black undersuit, with armoured padding around the torso, arms, and legs, with some Riders having an additional component to their design.
What sets them apart is their ID Cores and motifs. Acting as their right to play, the ID Core is unique to every Rider, containing everything about them, including their name. Each ID Core has a different colour and animal design on the front to dictate the Rider's motif.
Obsidian's motif is that of a rhino, giving him a grey mask with armour around the back, and a horn in the front. He also has a single white cloth wrapped around his thigh. Emperor is based on a dragonfly, giving him a purple and green colour scheme, and two large, buggy eyes, larger than the average player.
DUAL ON! ARMED SWORD! ARMED SHIELD! READY, FIGHT!
Using two Armed Buckles in the Desire Driver at once, player Kamen Rider Garuru crashes through the horde. Using the armed shield as a battering ram, he hacks and slashes the Jyamato that gets pushed aside. His motif is based on a wolf, with his main colour being dark blue. His mask reflects the animal with a pair of sharp ears and a desert scarf around his neck. Garuru's headstrong approach has put him third on the leaderboard and is slowly closing in on Obsidian.
There's a lull moment in the fighting for the Riders to catch their breath. Even still, the ivory tower of the Jyamato castle taunts them in the distance.
"Where's Scarlet?" Garuru calls out from behind the other two. Breathing heavily, he uses his sword to keep himself up.
"I haven't seen him since the round began," Emperor takes to a higher vantage point as he replies to Garuru's question. Using the crossbow, he snipes the few Jyamato that emerge from behind the street corners. "Maybe he decided to give us all a chance to win for a change. You know, be a good sport."
"I wouldn't say that," Obsidian looks over his shoulder back at his fellow Riders. Holding up his Spiderphone, he shows them the scoreboard. "He's in the lead. I'm 20,000 points behind him. I haven't seen any gold-level enemies. Maybe he's picking them off for the score value, leaving the rest to us."
Garuru scoffs, "That arrogant bastard." He's interrupted by a sudden Jyamato bursting from behind some rubble. Quick with his shield he blocks them before shoving them back. "Sod off!" He slashes the Jyamato up into the air with his sword. Making a combo off the attack, Obsidian uses their mace to slam it back down into the ground, rewarding them both with points.
"We can't deal with that now. We're running out of time," Obsidian shows the timer displayed on his phone screen. A digital clock counts down from ten minutes. "If we can at least survive, there will be a next time." Leading the charge, they follow after Obsidian towards the castle.
Garuru is quick to catch up after Obsidian, while Emperor chooses to stay back and take pop shots of the Jyamato on the buildings for extra points. "I'm just saying. Maybe this might be the game we beat him. And what's more? If we win this, we're getting that wish."
"Easy," Obsidian rebuts him. "Only one of us can get this wish. I mean you two no ill will, but I'm in this to win. Nothing else. Remember that."
With less than eight minutes left on the clock, they arrive within walking distance of the castle, a large, tall white stone pillar. A few common Jyamato patrol around the castle grounds, as well as a few wearing chainmail, and a bronze medal around their necks.
"Bronze!" Emperor calls out upon seeing these Jyamato. He quickly fires upon them with his arrows, taking down some of the common ones, while only slightly damaging the bronze-level Jyamato. He activates the buckle on his Desire Driver, triggering a finisher.
ARROW STRIKE!
Charging up his attack, he fires a bolt of green energy at the Jyamato, destroying the three remaining bronze-level Jyamato. Taking his Spiderphone out, he checks the score. He smiles under his mask as he overtakes Garuru in the rankings.
Emperor turns to Garuru and shrugs, "No hard feelings, right? It's just a game after all." Garuru just shakes their head in response to Emperor's banter.
The wall behind Emperor explodes into dust as a silver-level Jyamato bursts out. Wielding dual axes, it slashes Emperor in the back while he has yet to react. He is knocked down but is fast enough to roll out of the way of them swinging downwards.
Getting back on his feet, he tries to counterattack but the Jyamato slashes him twice across the chest. Each swing builds up power in the axe blades. With one last swing of both blades, they ignite upon meeting against his chest and explode.
Obsidian and Garuru can only watch as their comrade is sent flying until his body becomes embedded in the wall of a nearby building.
"It was...a game...," Emperor lets out one last breath before his body dissolves into a black mist, leaving behind only the Armed Arrows buckle where he once was.
MISSION FAILED
"You...you...you bastard!" Shaking with rage, Garuru comes running straight for the silver-level Jyamato.
The Jyamato tosses a near-endless barrage of throwing axes at Garuru. Using his sword, he parries and knocks back any that comes his way, letting them explode behind him. With the focus on Garuru, Obsidian takes his chance to try and destroy the castle.
Inches away from each other, the Jyamato combines its two axes into one battle axe and swings it. Garuru blocks the attack with his shield, however, the axe still slices through the guard, cutting it down while the edge scratches his mask. Apart of his plan, Garuru triggers the Sword Buckle on his Driver.
SWORD STRIKE!
With the sword charging him, he throws it into the Jyamato at point-blank. The power behind the swing throws them back as the finisher's attack sets them off, exploding away from him. The combination of defeating a higher-class enemy, and getting revenge for a Rider earns him enough points to be at second place.
Obsidian makes it to the castle with only five minutes to spare. He triggers the finisher of his weapon and starts swinging it around in the air.
CHAIN ARRAY STRIKE!
He brings it down, hoping the attack will at least do some damage to the castle, however, the attack is intercepted by another Jyamato. A gold-level Jyamato with dual swords. It parries the attack midair, sending it back to the ground, and blasting Obsidian back.
While unharmed, he is pushed back and blocked from another attempt. Garuru fairs no better. Getting back on his feet, his buckles turn to dust after being destroyed fighting the silver-level. It gets worse as the remaining Jyamato converges on the two. The gold-level keeps to the castle to guard it, while the rest swarm the pair.
They go out swinging, Obsidian uses his mace to brute force them away from him. Garuru goes raw, using simple punches and kicks to knock them back, even going as far as to use debris on the ground as a weapon as he's unable to reach Emperor's fallen buckle.
They become overcrowded. Obsidian barely has the room to swing his mace, while Garuru is grabbed and held down, keeping him in place. While struggling to cover them off of him, he hears a sudden cry of a motorbike echoing in the zone.
Arriving in a blazing torrent, a red-hot fireball crashes through the horde, igniting all caught in their pair. The flames spread, catching the Jyamato that surround Garuru and Obsidian. The ball of flames circles the field, making sure to catch every last common Jyamato within range of the castle. Obsidian pulls out his phone and watches as the name at the top of the leaderboard just increases with points.
The ball of flames stops between the two Riders as the flames die out, revealing a red Kamen Rider. Top of the leaderboard, this is Kamen Rider Scarlet. With a griffin motif, his mask reflects that of a bird's head. The rest of his form is different, he is using two large Raise Buckles attached to his Driver, Pheonix, and Boost. In place of the regular black padding, his torso and arms are covered in a special red armour with spike-like wings, while his legs have exhausts attached to them.
He looks around at the remains of the Jyamato, and then at the remaining two Riders. "It seems I arrived just in time. If I was off with my time, then well...," he looks over to the crater in the wall where Emperor landed, "Then you would have both joined him."
"Smug git...," Garuru tries to get back up, but he's too weak to stand after being overpowered. Obsidian keeps down, preserving himself, knowing full well what's about to happen.
Coming off their bike, Scarlet slowly approached the last remaining obstacle, the gold-level Jyamato.
"Listen. You may believe you're a match for someone as great as me, but I'm going to have to debunk that myth, you're not. I'm one of a kind, and I've taken moots like you down all day. So with that in mind...," Scarlet starts to monologue while the timer slowly decreases.
The Jyamato becomes impatient. While they can't understand what he's saying, they recognize that they're looking for a fight. Gripping their swords tight, they start charging ahead.
"So it's with a heavy heart, that I am the one to end your non-existence," Scarlet quickly triggers the finisher on his Driver.
PHEONIX STRIKE!
His fist gets engulfed in flames before he counter-punches the Jyamato in the face. He knocks them off course before giving them an uppercut into the sky. Once airborne, Scarlet grabs the Boost buckle and revs it up repeatedly before leaping into the sky. His bike transforms into a robotic Griffin and joins him in the air.
BOOST TIME!
Meeting with the Griffin in the sky, he hops on their back before both before another ball of flames. It comes crashing down as it turns into a burning Phoenix.
PHEONIX BOOST GRAND VICTORY!
Catching the Jyamato in the air, they carry it along the way as they crash land into the castle. On impact, the castle explodes. The world goes mute before it goes up in flames.
MISSION CLEARED
With the announcement, the game has been finished with just three minutes to spare. Scarlet stands on the remains of the castle. The scoreboard above him, declaring him to be the winner of the game, and this grand prix.
The other two Riders start to glitch out, in a similar manner to Emperor. This is not their death, however. Before Garuru can get out one last insult, both he and Obsidian disappear. Leaving their Desire Drivers on the ground.
RETIRED
Watching from their private room, the Game Master has seen the game to its conclusion. With Scarlet the victor, he holds up a piece of card with the DGP logo on the back and Scarlet's desired wish on the front.
"Scarlet...with this, your desired world shall be fulfilled," they hold out the card as a printed red, 'GRANTED' appears over the text. The world gets caught up in a blinding white wave, as it gets rewritten to suit Scarlet's desire.
