Emo Marinette sighed softly to herself as she closed her locker door. With her schoolbooks in hand, the goth girl started making her way to her science class.
As she passed by a few windows, she glances out one of the windows as she walked down the never-ending hallway. As she kept on making her way toward the very end of the hallway, Marinette noticed how dark the sky was and could hear the slight pitter-patter sound on the metal roofing of the school building as the rain continued to fall.
From what the pigtailed bluenett had heard circulating around the school lately, there was going to be a new student joining their class that day.
"I wonder who this new kid could be?" Marinette whispered to her kwami as she looked up at her charge with a curious stare.
"I dunno Nettie, I guess you'll find out when you get into the classroom." The little ladybug kwami giggled softly at the baffled look on her charges face. "Go on now, you'd better get to class."
Science wasn't her best subject nor her favorite class, but what else could she do? She sighed yet again as she entered the classroom.
As she took her seat next to her seat near the back of the classroom, the teacher cleared her throat to get everyone's attention.
"Attention class: we have a new transfer student joining our class today."
After that statement, whispers started to circulate around the classroom like swarm of Kamiko butterflies.
The teacher shouted for silence and every students shut their mouth and turned to face the front of the room.
"Anyway, as I was saying, we have a new transfer student. Her name is Akari Fei and she's from Tokyo Japan."
She then turned her attention to the classroom door and called for the girl to enter the room.
The girl slowly walked into the classroom, her violet eyes scanning the students each with a curious stare. Her long, silly jet-black hair flowed down her back in a tight french braid with a few pink streaks in her hair.
As Akari walked toward the back of the classroom, she caught the eye of Emo Marinette, who stared right back at her with wide eyes. "Hey, um, do you mind if I sit in this seat next to you?" Her voice was soft and made the goth girl think of chiming bells.
After a few moments of silence, Marinette finally regained her voice. "Uh sure, go ahead." Akari smiled brightly at her and plopped herself down right next to the bluenette.
Marinette just gives the young Japanese girll a wide-eyed look. "Most people don't like sitting with me." She tells the other girl softly. "But you are, why?"
Akari just gives the goth girl a raised eyebrows. "Lemme guess, people don't like you cause you're a sassy emo goth girl?" A nod from her seat-mate was the only answer she received.
"Yeah pretty much." Marinette murmured quietly as she looked up from her sketchbook. "Why are you so interested in me anyway?"
The ravenette just blinked and tilted her head in confusion. "Cause I want to be your friend silly! Why else would I be sitting next to you if I didn't want to be friends with you?" She gives the goth girl a cheeky grin that she slowly returns.
Marinette gave Akari a soft, kind little smile and held out her hand for the black-haired girl to shake.
"So does this means we're friends now?" Akari asked her with a wide grin forming on her face.
"Yup. You're my new bestie now Kari-chan." Marinette replied in return with a cheeky grin forming on her normally pale face.
