Deep within the Alaskan wilderness, a figure walked through the white terrain, the crunching of snow underneath boots echoed through the ice-cold forest. The slow trudge through thick snow soon turned into a sprint, as the figure ran towards a grey building in the distance. The figure approached the building, a lantern sitting on a crate near a door on the side of the building illuminated the mysterious person. It was a man wearing a thick winter coat, his most recognizable feature easily being his rather large ears.
The man pulled a small, cylindrical object from one of his coat pockets, and aimed it at the door. A blue light emitted from the tip of the object, and the door responded with a click. He grasped the door handle, and opened the door, only to be met with the barrel of a rifle aimed at his face. "Oi!" exclaimed the man wearing the winter coat, he spoke with a Northern English accent and his face was scrunched up from the rifle pressed against his face. "You one of them?" said the man holding the rifle, who was wearing military fatigues.
"One of who? I'm the Doctor." the Doctor said, starting to take off his coat before the man grabbed him, drug him inside, and slammed the door shut. The Doctor raised his hands defensively as the man patted him down, searching for something on the Doctor's body. "He's clear, no bumps." the soldier said, looking back to another, taller man in military fatigues who was leaned up against the wall. The soldier that was leaned against the wall walked towards the Doctor, "You mind telling us how you got in here? No way in hell you got past barbed wire and a seven foot tall fence."
The Doctor chuckled, "No way in hell? I'm here aren't I? So, which one of you sent the distress signal?"
"Distress signal?" The taller man queried as he approached the Doctor and examined the mans strange choice of clothing, a leather jacket such as the one the Doctor was wearing wasn't practical in such a cold environment, atleast in his opinion. "Yep. Distress signal. Powerful one too. Surprising considering it's nineteen forty-eight." The Doctor said, smiling, trying to alleviate the awkwardness of the situation.
The taller man turned to look at his shorter comrade, before turning back to the Doctor, "We didn't send a distress signal.". The man sighed, "Look, you don't know the full extent of what's going on here."
"Which is why I came here! Mysterious distress signal coming from the middle of nowhere, this is right up my alley. You also mentioned something about bumps? Call it a hunch, but I figure that has something to do with disease." The Doctor said, crossing his arms and eyeing the soldiers rifles.
"You'd be right. You here to help?" Said the shorter soldier.
"I always am." The Doctor said, walking past the two soldiers and towards a boarded up window. He peered through the boards, looking at the snowy landscape outside. He could see a much larger building in the distance. "What're we dealing with exactly?".
The taller soldier frowned and turned his gaze towards another boarded up window nearby. Through the boards, a figure could be seen approaching. "Why don't you see for yourself?" the soldier said, clenching his rifle tightly.
The Doctor walked over to the other window, just as the figure got closer. It was a person, somewhat. It resembled a human being, save for it's purple skin and corpse-like complexion. Once close enough to the building it began to bang on the boarded up window with all it's strength. Both soldiers raised their rifles, and without hesitation, fired upon the thing through the window. The Doctor could only watch in horror as the thing fell over, presumably dead.
Both soldiers lowered their rifles and turned to the Doctor, the taller one cleared his throat, "I'm Private First Class Jacob Crawford, and this here is Private First Class Harry Menendez" he said, pointing at the shorter soldier. "We're the only survivors." said Harry.
The Doctor peered through the cracks of the now bullet hole ridden boarded up window. He looked down at the corpse laying in the snow, black ichor poured out the thing on the ground. He grimaced and turned to the soldiers, "I need to examine the body. I'm going out."
Jacob sighed, "You go out there alone, and you're a dead man. We're coming with."
The Doctor smirked, "Fine by me. Shall we?"
The Doctor walked to the entrance/exit the building, and opened it. His nostrils were immediately assaulted with a terrible smell, from the corpse no doubt.
