Transformers Prime: A New Adventure.
Chapter 113: Shattered Glass Fortressimus.
(Forcescream's POV...)
A few days had passed since Carver's clone was captured by MECH, skinned, and divinely healed. And in addition to that, a few days had passed since Fortressimus and Paywind almost permanently lost their children and Fortressimus completely took the opportunity to get his revenge.
In addition to finding suitable vehicle modes for all of the new Autobots that had been brought online by usage of the protoforms found in the laboratory of the Harbinger and the Omen Signaler, nothing else had changed for the most part.
Victoryjump's trial had gone up a level, so to speak, and he had been granted the right to be outside of his room whenever he wanted to be out of his room as a reward for saving the Iron Legion in the fight against Doublecone and his teams, but he still wasn't allowed to be in the command center alone on the off chance he attempts to escape or if he tries to pull a fast one.
And in addition to that, he wasn't allowed outside of his room without his stasis cuffs.
Can't say I blame the other Autobots for wanting to be cautious around someone like one of Ironspan's lookalike clones.
Victoryjump's interrogations continued as normal, and thanks to his input combined with Fortressimus Prime's powers and arsenals, we were able to acquire vast amounts of Energon to manufacture and clone and duplicate in every manner possible.
However, something funny was also happening, and I'm pretty sure that the other Autobots began to notice this at the same time I noticed.
Ever since the day Victoryjump saved the Iron Legion, Fortressimus began to give some of us weird looks whenever we were in his sight.
It wasn't apparent at first, but we soon began to take notice.
Whenever we managed to ask Fortressimus about it, Fortressimus gave a clear answer: somehow, this Transformers Prime reality had a Shattered Glass equivalent, with every Autobot, Maximal, and human ally being in the same positions as the Decepticons, Beast Wars Predacons, and human villains and vice versa.
After we had explained the basics about the Transformers Shattered Glass microverse where everything about the mainstream Transformers continuities were all backwards to the Autobots, they were concerned, especially after Fortressimus revealed that his Shattered Glass counterpart had escaped his universe, a dark one where Shattered Glass Primus reigns supreme, the only Shattered Glass Autobot being alive is Shattered Glass Optimus Prime, the Shattered Glass Earth and human race are all destroyed, the Shattered Glass Decepticons, Predacons, and Unicron are all dead, and Fortressimus' counterpart had been abused so much by Optimus' doppelganger that he has fully embraced his dark side that occasionally gets amplified by Shattered Glass Primus due to his godlike ability to telepathically communicate messages to Fortressimus' counterpart on occasion despite that universe being totally destroyed to make room for a second Big Bang, especially whenever his counterpart indulges in ultimate dark thoughts and temptations like mass murder.
In the present day, we could see Fortressimus in the command center arming himself with his entire arsenal.
And we could also see that the life signal for Fortressimus' counterpart had appeared on the screen.
Oh, wait a minute. I know what's going on: Fortressimus detected his counterpart's life signal on the monitors, and he's preparing for an all-out battle the equivalent to many versions of the legendary death fight between Superman and Doomsday.
I mean, seriously, the parallels are right there, even though the only difference is that Superman wasn't fully prepared for his first death battle against Doomsday the first time around.
Optimus then asks first, "Fortressimus? Why are you equipping yourself with all of your weapons?"
Fortressimus answers in a clipped tone, "My counterpart is here, and he's gonna cause trouble for us in the future if he's not stopped today."
Optimus then says, "Autobots, we will help Fortressimus investigate his counterpart's signal, but we must maintain caution, for Fortressimus' counterpart will likely be his equal in every way, just like Shattered Glass style fictional supervillains being the equals to their mainstream superhero counterparts."
Blowwolf snorts as he remarks, "Genius reference, Optimus, but we have little time to waste."
Fortressimus locks in the coordinates and he activates the Space Bridge.
Even I had a feeling that what we're about to discover was gonna be ugly.
(Third person POV...)
In the area far from where the Harbinger was hidden, the Autobot army exited the portal.
However, there was a moderately light fog covering the Autobots' surroundings.
The Autobots kept their guard up, for they knew that they weren't entirely alone.
Fortressimus calls out, "Is anyone out here with us?!"
Just then, Fortressimus' counterpart spoke up as he replies, "So, it appears that the rumors about this universe are true."
Heavy footsteps sounded in front of the Autobots, and they were shocked to see Fortressimus' counterpart stepping out of the fog, looking exactly like the real Fortressimus, but with a color-inverted appearance.
And if that wasn't enough, Fortressimus' counterpart was decked out in his full knight armor.
Fortressimus asks, "I presume you are me?"
Fortressimus 2 answers with an evil smirk, "Yes, Peter, I am you."
Fortressimus questions, "But how? Is there really a way to use the Dimensional Scissors to open portals that lead to other universes?"
Fortressimus 2 answers, "Yes, there is. All you have to do is cut open the paper door."
Fortressimus 2 tries to shove Fortressimus 1, but he teleports out of the way and fires thirteen rockets at his counterpart, sending him flying into a wall.
Everyone looked to see that this other Fortressimus wasn't invulnerable like his counterpart.
Optimus then says, "Shattered Glass Fortressimus, stand down and surrender!"
Fortressimus 2 snarls back, "Stay the (bleep!) out of this, Prime; this is between me and my counterpart!"
Fortressimus 2 prepares to fire his Corrosive Slime Cannon, but Fortressimus 1 puts up a force field around himself and his counterparts similar to the Transformers Prime video game force fields for the playable characters.
Fortressimus questions, "Why do you want me gone anyway?"
Fortressimus 2 deploys his own Dimensional Scissors and answers, "Because there can only be one!"
Fortressimus 1 scoffs before saying, "That's what all supervillains from other universes said whenever they encountered their heroic counterparts, and every single time, they wound up failing to kill their counterparts."
Fortressimus 2 sneers as he replies, "Well, this time, the rules are changing."
Forcescream tries to exit the force field, but he gets shocked with a volt of electricity.
Fortressimus and his counterpart immediately engaged in a super-heavy martial arts fight to the death, but because the mainstream Fortressimus was invulnerable and because the Shattered Glass Fortressimus didn't have the powers that his counterpart had, it was only a matter of time before Shattered Glass Fortressimus was out for the count.
Fortressimus charges up his weaponry and prepares to fire at full power, while saying, "You were good, kid, but as long as I'm around, you'll always be second-best, especially since you will be judged accordingly by Primus and God."
Just then, Forcescream, somehow having escaped the force field, steps in front of Fortressimus' line of fire.
Fortressimus questions, "What do you think you're doing?"
Forcescream answers, "Please don't kill him; you'll only be as bad as he is. Please, let me help him."
Fortressimus saw red in that instant and opened fire on Forcescream, moderately damaging him and blowing him back, much to everyone else's surprise.
Fortressimus snarls, "This is a war, Forcescream! Do you hear me?! This is a f(bleep!) gold-dern war! There is no room for pacifists or attempting to convince those like him to change for the better! My counterpart is irredeemable because of the Shattered Glass Autobots and the Shattered Glass Primus! I'll put him out of his misery so that he can not only rest slightly easier, but also so that he doesn't impede our goals in the future!"
Forcescream weakly gets up while saying in response, "No, Fortressimus! There is always another way!"
Fortressimus angrily deploys his Energon Axe and charges with a Predacon roar, looking to kill Forcescream.
Having enough, Optimus steps in and punches Fortressimus' lights out despite him being invulnerable.
But unexpectedly, Fortressimus does a kick-up, catching Optimus off-guard as he warily steps back.
Just then, Fortressimus' counterpart gets up and snarls, "You will embrace the darkness in your soul, Peter, whether you like it or not! It's only a matter of time!"
Fortressimus' counterpart transforms to his jet mode and flees before any of the Autobots can give chase or try to shoot him down.
Fortressimus roars, "WELL THAT'S JUST F(bleep!) GREAT!"
In no time, Fortressimus was imprisoned for 3 weeks that was the equivalent to 30 years in frozen time in the Evil Zone, the Autobot replica of the DC Comics Phantom Zone.
But when Fortressimus returned, he had now started to hate Forcescream for stopping him from killing his counterpart.
And now, only time will tell if Fortressimus will let go of this grudge and only time will tell if Fortressimus' counterpart can be convinced to change and embrace the light.
The End.
