Omnitrickery: Was the chapter supposed to be written in Bold and Italic…?

That should just be the top few messages? I think its fine after that.

Elijah Martin1: Noooooooooooooooooo

Don't mind me, just killing some characters lol.

Clara lay in bed, pondering over things. She kept opening and closing her status, looking through weapons and levels. The bonuses on the boning knife were finally unlocked, raising her attack and giving her potion recipes so she swapped to the fang knife. She noticed that its stats kept rising and falling when she exposed it to the moonlight. The pot and skewer from the crescent wolf reacted the same way. Their stats would rapidly rise by a bit when exposed to moonlight, to around an extra 5%. That was after the level link bonus, so it seems that the more she upgraded the form, the more stats the lunar blessing would give, even if it was only 5%.

Clara looked at the fur pot. It had a much higher defense stat than the beak pot. Honestly, the fang knife and the fur pot replaced her top four weapons for attack, agility, defense, and magic defense. The only weapon that was still in the top 5 stats was the golem core knife, with the highest magic attack rating. But it's not like she really needed it, since she still couldn't use any offensive spells.

Clara looked at the unmastered knife again, then raised it to the moonlight right above her head. The blade began to glow again, with the crescent patterns lightning up. Clara lowered it and watched the glow slowly fade, and the stat boost returned back to normal. She took one glance at her level when a skill caught her eye.

I can't believe I'm doing this.

Clara grumbled as she walked through the forest. She had the lunar wolf pot equipped for the night vision effect. Even if it was a weak one, it was still a great help in traversing the forest at night, and it gave her decent defense, which she definitely needed. She also had Sherone's old shield and her magic robes and monster scale armor. With all of these things, her defense was pretty decent at the moment.

Clara jerked her head to the side as something began to move through the bushes. She raised both of her shields and summoned her floating knife and then summoned the Erst Throw knife. She found out that if she had a pot or some other weapon form equipped that wasn't a knife, a small green knife would appear in her hand that she could throw instead. The material looked the same as the one that made up the Erst Lid, which made sense since both were an erst skill.

A dark, shapeless figure popped out of the bush and began to crawl and squirm its way towards Clara.

Oh, it's just a slime.

Clara sighed and threw her summoned knife at the slime, slicing it in half. When the two halves tried to approach her, she equipped her burning knife and evaporated them both.

Clara quickly sucked up the gooey mess into her knife and swapped back to the pot, continuing forward in the forest.

*Creak*

The girl turned around and peered into the darkness. She saw several Drevos moving together in between the other trees, their wooden branches creaking and cracking as they traversed through the forest.

Clara changed her weapon to the old bandage knife and willed the special effect to wrap itself around a branch of a nearby tree. As soon as she felt the bandages tighten, she began to slowly climb the tree, trying to peer into the darkness without her special effect.

A few seconds later, she finally made it up and changed her knife back to the fur pot. She looked around and counted up the Drevos.

They are pretty close, but if I can just get them a bit closer together. Well, I guess I should try out this skill.

As the group began to walk in front of the tree she was at, Clara desummoned the float knife and raised her hand.

"Heated Grounds," she whispered, covering the path in front of the group with a bright red aura. She turned down the intensity as soon as she saw her SP depleting, but the skill achieved the effect she wanted.

The front Drevo monsters looked in confusion at the change of color and took a step back, bumping into the Drevos behind them. The whole group soon came to a halt, bunched up together just where Clara wanted.

"Knife Rain!"

Clara showered the group with knives and looked around to see who was left. A single Drevo looked in panic at the sight in front of him and quickly began to waddle away, but Clara ran after him.

"Chain Bind, Crescent Slash," Clara muttered, binding the creature and changing to her fang knife before releasing her new skill.

The crescent slash she saw before might have looked weak, but this one burst out of her knife and flew towards the Drevo at incredible speeds. The attack hit, and Clara swapped back to the pot just in time to see the Drevo monster get cut in half, its top half flying to the side.

"Nice! That went well better than I expe-ACK!" Clara screamed as she was hit by something from behind. She turned around just in time to see another Drevo getting a branch ready to hit Clara with.

"Ow! Where did you come from? Erst Throw!" Clara exclaimed, throwing a knife at its head. The attack hit, but it barely penetrated the monster's bark.

Right, I had a pot equipped.

Clara swapped back to her fang knife and rushed at the monster. Both her and the Drevo looked surprised as Clara easily ran under the whip branch and swung her knife at the monster.

"Second Slash!"

And just like that the monster was cut in half. Clara looked down at the corpse and then at her legs in surprise.

Wow, so this is what having good agility is like! I have to master this form quickly for this bonus.

Clara quickly absorbed all of the monsters into her pot and continued to walk around the forest carefully.

After walking for about an hour and killing more slimes and trees, Clara decided to climb a tree and take a quick break.

Clara dug through her monster drops, spotting a bunch of herbs and a wooden helmet. She took it out and put it on her head.

Huh, my defense rose a bit, but it's pretty uncomfortable. Plus, the branches on the top of the helmet would get stuck on things so… pass.

As Clara brought it up to her knife, the gem on it began to glow, signaling a new possible unlockable weapon form. Shrugging, she let the knife absorb it and looked at the new weapon form.

Wooden Cutting Board

abilities locked equip bonus: woodworking skill 1

Huh… Why didn't I get a wood form earlier though? Was it because I didn't absorb enough normal wood, and Drevos don't count? I probably won't use this for anything, but I guess I'll master it if I ever finish mastering everything else.

Clara continued to scroll down. There were several food related items like a loaf of bread, or a tomato. Clara also noticed a recipe tab in her menu.

Did I unlock this with the coffee brewer? What does this do?

She opened it and a list of things popped up in her status. There were things you would expect from 'simple drinks recipe 1' list like tea and coffee. Some juices were there too as well as a basic healing potion, sp potion, mana potion, and a few others she got from the basic potion recipes. However, more things like lasagna, sandwiches, mac and cheese and a few other things Clara had made in this world popped up as well.

So you can shove things in my brain, read my mind, and record me. Why am I not surprised? Alright, make me this sandwich here please.

Clara pressed on one of the options and a menu with the ingredients needed popped up and the amount Clara had, as well as an option to change the amount of sandwiches she can make. Clara fiddled with the settings and pressed 'craft'.

A timer appeared next to the sandwich and Clara saw that one of three tabs above the craft menu began to glow.

I guess I can craft 3 things at a time?

While she waited for the auto craft to finish, Clara continued to survey the area. What surprised her most about being in the forest was that there weren't a lot of birds making noise. She wondered why, since she knew vultures existed. Yet there wasn't a single nest in any of the trees she saw so far.

Weird. I expected at least a few birds to be… is this branch moving?

Clara looked at the branch she was holding on and froze. Two small beady eyes were looking right at her from the edge of the branch, with a thick long body wrapped around the tree.

A small red tongue popped out of its mouth and a hiss followed.

Oh n-

Before Clara could react, the snake bit down on her arm. Clara jumped back in fear, however she ended up tumbling from the tree instead.

Damn it! Why is a snake there?!

Clara looked up and raised her pot just in time for the snake to ram face first into it, pushing her back. She grabbed the body and summoned her float knife, trying to stab the monster. However, it slipped out of her hand and slithered back into the bushes.

"Knife Rain! Heated Grounds!" Clara called out her skills, cutting down and burning the bush in front of her. The snake hissed in pain and thrashed around, quickly putting out the flames on its body. Just as Clara was about to advance forward, she tripped over her own foot and fell onto the ground.

Clara tried to get up, but the whole world began to spin and Clara felt her eyelids getting heavy.

No no NO! Don't fall asleep! If I do that, it's gonna eat me!

Clara grit her teeth and tried to get up again. She barely got to her knees before she heard the snake hiss, and a sharp pain shot through her leg. Acting as fast as her body would let her, she grabbed the snake with her left arm and equipped her fang knife. Instantly, the pain in her leg got worse as her defense dropped, but Clara's vision became clearer, the pain keeping her awake.

Clara screamed and stabbed her knife into the snake as hard as she could, ripping through its scales. She felt it thrash around, its fangs cutting up her leg even more, but she just stabbed it again, screaming from the pain.

The pain didn't ease, but the snake's movements started to slow. Clara stabbed it again and again and again, trying her best not to fall asleep.

With one final hit, Clara felt the snake's movements cease. She let out a sigh of relief and slumped to the ground.

"Phohl… phoh… phf," Clara tried to say portal shield, but her mouth started to become numb. Whatever venom that snake injected, Clara was begging to succumb to its effects. She tried to lift her arm, but her entire body felt so heavy that she knew she wouldn't be able to swing up to the nearby tree and wait it out. Panicking, her eyes darted around for anything that could help. She was already hearing some noises from the forest, and she didn't want to collapse here and become someone's dinner.

Clara's eyes fell on the snake and she got an idea. She slumped to her side and pushed her knife against the snake's body. In an instant, the snake body disappeared, and Clara swapped to the new form in hopes that it would give her what she needed.

Slithering Branch Cleaver

abilities locked equip bonus: poison resistance (small)

Clara gasped as she felt her body get a bit lighter. Her mind cleared a bit, and she was able to start moving. It was still very hard to move but she wasn't falling asleep anymore. However, this was mostly because her arm and leg hurt so much. She looked down to inspect her injuries and saw that she was bleeding quite a lot where the snake bit her in the leg. All of that thrashing around really cut up the skin.

Clara stumbled her way to the nearest tree and used her uninjured arm to pull herself into the tree with the bandage knife. However, she quickly swapped back to the snake cleaver as her head began to spin again. And to top it off, she started to hear monsters approach her.

This is bad, I can't see a thing and I can't swap weapon forms until I get the bonus from this one! Well, one thing I can do.

"Portal Knife!" Clara called out, teleporting away. She opened her eyes and looked around to find herself in the center of the clearing she and Sherone were at earlier. As far as she knew, they cleared out the area, and whatever they missed was probably taken care of by the wolf from earlier. Clara pulled out some bandages from her knife and wrapped them tightly around her leg to try and stop the bleeding. She opened up her status and selected the auto crafting for a health potion. A timer appeared, and Clara winced as she pulled tightly on the bandages she held.

After the bleeding in her leg finally stopped, Clara began to wrap the bitten arm. It was a bit hard to do with only one hand so she ended up holding one of the ends with her teeth as she used her other hand to wrap it and tie the knot. Relieved that she wasn't bleeding out, Clara leaned back against the tree behind her and sighed.

Oh my god, I almost died. To a random snake! The weapon form isn't very strong so the snake was probably weak too, and yet I was almost poisoned to death. How am I gonna beat the wave if a snake gives me trouble?!

Clara shot up as the auto craft menu pinged her about the health potion being complete. She set three more health potions to auto craft and pulled out the completed one.

Clara looked at the small vial full of red liquid and pulled out the cork with her teeth. Carefully, she poured the liquid onto her leg and winced as she felt the wound start to close up. After she poured the entire potion on her leg, she sighed and dropped the vial to the side.

Her leg was beginning to become numb since she tied the bandages around her leg way too tightly, so she cut off the bandages and sighed in relief. The bite on her arm still hurt, but with the leg finally healed, she could stand up onto her feet again. She still felt a little light headed and dizzy from all the blood loss and poison so she leaned on the trees for support, waiting for the potions to autocraft.

Well, I got some decent exp from the snake, but it isn't enough to level up yet. I still need 15 levels and I almost died to a snake! Maybe I should just call it a day?

Clara looked at the portal menu and contemplated on just teleporting back. She grit her teeth and instead summoned the three other portal knives and threw them into a nearby tree.

Alright, let's keep grinding. I'm not coming out of the forest until I'm at level 70.

With a goal in her mind Clara gripped her knife tightly and stumbled back into the forest.

Reiya woke up as the first rays of sunlight hit her in the face. She sat up on her bed, shivering a bit under her blanket. The air itself wasn't cold, she was used to a lot more than this. It was a different kind of heat she needed, however Clara didn't feel comfortable with Reiya's method of obtaining it.

Reiya yawned and rubbed her arms, quickly heating herself up. She glanced to the side and smiled. "Good morning, Miss Clara!"

She turned back and began to put on her clothes when she suddenly looked back in a panic, adrenaline running through her soul. Clara didn't reply because she wasn't in bed. In fact, when Reiya touched the covers, it seems that Clara wasn't in bed for at least several hours. She looked around the room for any hint of her, and even tried to sense Clara's presence when her eyes fell upon a note on the desk.

Reiya could read this world's language, and her knowledge of the vocabulary and grammar was decent enough, but the note she read didn't seem to share that level of grammar.

[I'll out be a while to level. May be late too, don't worry.]

Grammar bad/cold/improvement needed/alone?/she go where?/hungry!

I think she means she would be out for a bit, to level up. She is really worried about this wave thing. But I don't get it, she seems really strong already. Are the waves really that bad?

"And she didn't bring me! Do I have to go to Mean Chef Guy alone then?" Reiya huffed, pouting and crossing her arms. "That guy is so mean!"

Reiya grumbled and looked back at the note.

I hope she is ok.

Left?/frozen/off duty./abandoned!/tasteless/hungry!

"She didn't abandon me! She's my friend!" Reiya yelled at the air and huffed again.

She lied/cold/not stated/won't return again/rotten/hungry

"Stop! She didn't leave us! She said she would be back!" Reiya cried out, slamming the note onto the table. "Go away!"

/cold/very well/alone/…/stomach… burns!

Reiya's stomach grumbled and she sighed.

I should get something to eat. I think Miss Clara left me something, it smells so good… wasn't the kitchen far away?

Shrugging, Reiya walked off into the direction of the kitchen, humming a catchy tune.
