Ace and Graham are at their prospective places packing for their week away. Graham is zipping up his bag when he gets a phone call. "Hello."

"What are you up to Grandad?"

"I am about to head out for a week in Oxford with Ace."

"You two are getting serious?"

"I told you that I loved her, Ryan. Your Nan will always have a place in my heart."

"Have you two moved in together?"

"No, though I did move closer to her, mostly to be closer to UNIT. It was a bonus that it was a 5 minute walk from her."

"I remember you telling me that you were moving."

"I did, and there is a room if you ever want to visit."

"Thanks, but I don't know if I can visit yet." Graham hears Ace enter his flat and turns to face her with a smile that doesn't reach his eyes.

"That's ok Ryan, as long as you are happy."

"Thanks Grandad, are you happy?"

Graham looks to Ace who is standing right next to his bedroom doorway. "I am, I can say I haven't been this happy in years."

"That is good, I promise you I will come home one day to meet Ace. Yaz has told me she is pretty cool."

"You have no idea, want to talk to her?"

"She's there?"

"For the last few minutes."

"Sure."

"Ace, want to meet Ryan over the phone?"

"Of course."

"Here she is Ryan." Graham hands the phone over to Ace and kisses her cheek and grabs his bag and takes it to Ace's car.

"Hello Ryan, I'm Ace."

"I know. You make my Grandad happy."

"I am glad, he makes me happy too. He also talks about you all the time."

"He talks about you a lot, and I mean a lot. He only talked a little bit about UNIT. It's mostly Ace this and Ace that."

"Oh," Graham walks in to see Ace blushing at Ryan's announcement.

"He loves you, I can tell."

"I love him too." Graham wraps his arms around Ace as she relaxes into his embrace.

"So Ace, Grandad has told me about your charity."

"He has?"

"Like I said he talks about you all the time."

"What has he said?"

"That you glow when you talk about it, and he is looking forward to being a date to whatever function you need one to."

"He will be my date as long as he wants to be."

"Good."

"Want to talk to him?"

"Put me on speaker."

"Ok," Ace takes the phone off her ear and presses a few buttons, "you're on speaker Ryan."

"Good, I just wanted to say to both of you, have fun on your mini vacation."

"We will son."

"Good, I will let you two go." They hang up, Ace turns in Graham's arms and slips his phone into his pocket.

"Are you ready Honeybear for the first week away."

"The first of many?"

"The first of many, speaking of being first of many, next month there is a fundraiser, and Ryan mentioned you wanted to be my date for any functions, how do you feel about it?"

"For as long as you will have me, I will love to be on your arm."

"My lips?" Taking the hint Graham leans in to kiss Ace. "Mmm." When they break, "you got my not so subtle hint."

"It was easy, we hadn't kissed yet today."

"We did have a nice one last night," Ace smiles at Graham. "Though we did get rudely interrupted before it got very good."

"We can always try again any day this week."

"Everynight." Ace starts to think of ways she can ignore the Doctor.

"We are horny aren't we?"

"6 months tomorrow and we haven't been able to make love."

"Can you believe it's 6 months?"

"The first 6 months of many, now we should head out." Ace and Graham grab each other's hand and walk out the door, and Graham locks it not knowing the next time he comes through this door everything will have changed not only for him and Ace, but for a handful of other people.

"Neither of us had many road trips growing up."

"My Nan did take me on a few of them, Mum was not an only child, though it seems it is only one child a generation gets Fenric and the possibility of being cursed by him. Mum and I won that lottery. If it wasn't for the Doctor and I being on that base in the early 40s and well you know the rest."

"I do, can you tell me more about some of your road trips with your Nan?"

"Nan would regularly take me to go see my Uncle and they both would take me to see a football match."

"Who was your favorite team?"

"Charlton Athletic."

"Haven't they done ok this year?"

"Not really."

"Sorry to hear that."

"It is what it is," Ace shrugs.

"Well you have been keeping me occupied during most of their games."

"So there is you and the monthly meetings. I am surprised they keep making meetings during footie matches."

"Want to go to a footie match one day?"

"I would love to, what is your favorite team?"

"I would like to see how you react when your team scores big."

"Really?"

"You will get excited."

"Oh Graham, you get me excited more than you realize."

"Come on Ace."

"Wait until tonight," she winks at him quickly before refocusing on the road.

"I hope we can be left alone tonight."

"Me too, and alone every night." As Ace pulls up both her and Graham's phones start to go off.
