….."Both phones going off at the same time, that isn't a good sign." Ace says worriedly.
"I guess we should answer them."
"They know I have a few speeches I need to make this week, and that you and I need some time away from everything," Ace grabs Graham's hand. "I want to have some private time with you. I know the call with Ryan upset you; like most of them do these days."
"How?"
"You love and miss him, and he for some reason is refusing to come home."
"It started while he was in Patagonia."
"Before you saw the Doctor again."
Graham smiles at Ace, "and met you." Their phones stop ringing and start again. "I don't want to answer."
"Me too. Though you know they will send somebody our way if we don't pick up."
"I know. Let's get it over with. If they want one of us, it will have to be me."
"Do you want to go?"
"No, I want to stay with you." Ace smiles at him.
"Hello."
"Thank god Ace, you finally answered."
"You know Tegan, I am supposed to have a week away for my other job, when was the last time I got time off from aliens."
"Last year."
"Exactly, I have been doing double duty lately with UNIT and A Charitable Earth. If it wasn't for Graham these past 6 months I would've burnt out by now."
"Graham is centering you isn't he?"
"He does, now Tegan why did you call?"
"Oh that, there is a ship that has entered earth's upper autosphere."
"Do you guys think it's?"
"I don't know, I hope not, we just wanted to make sure you and Graham are on high alert."
"We will be, someone should call Ryan."
"Yaz is taking care of that, just be careful you two wear protection."
"Tegan."
"What, I know you, and I know the two of you have been trying to do the horizontal mambo."
"Tegan just stop. Yes, Graham and I have been trying, but as you know with Nyssa there is more to a successful relationship than sex."
"I know that Ace, but you have to admit it, you are looking forward to it."
Ace looks at Graham who is also talking to someone on the phone, "I am, I think the wait has been beneficial to helping us grow closer emotionally."
"I bet, I will let you get on your vacation away from us."
"Thank you, keep you and your new family safe."
"I'll try my best." They make their goodbyes as Graham is also getting off the phone.
"So be on high alert according to Kate."
"And Tegan, so this sorta puts a bummer on things."
"We can still enjoy the time together, just need to keep an eye out for a ship that may not show up."
"It better not show up, I need my time with you."
"We need this time together, our first time away."
"We will have more Graham, a lot more. You, me, the world you watch us travel."
"I can't wait, we should go check in?" Graham says as he gets out of the car and heads to go get a luggage trolley. Ace gets out of the car and heads to the back to open it. She smiles as Graham comes back out, "I got a trolley, so it will be easier to bring our bags in."
"I had a feeling, you need my information to check in." They walk in with Graham pushing the trolley.
"Hello," the hotel receptionist says to the two as they walk up to the desk.
"I am here to check in for Dorothy McShane."
"Are you her?"
"I am."
"This is," she looks at Graham.
"My partner."
"Business?"
"Romantic," Ace's eyes narrow at her.
"So the same room?"
"Yes, the same room."
"I was just wondering, because we have a few open rooms."
"We only need one room."
"Sorry Ms. McShane."
Graham reads Ace's body language, "thank you though, we only need the one room. You know how it is when two people who love each other take their first trip together."
"I do," she winks at them.
After Ace and Graham make their way into the room, Graham stops and looks at the size of it, Ace grabs the bags from the cart, "what are you staring at?"
"This room, it's bigger than my last two flats put together."
"You can't even see the whole suit from where you are standing."
"I can see the general layout."
"You are shocked?"
"Yes, I have been in hotels before, but never in a room this big."
"It's a suite Dear, now help me put our clothes away."
"On it," they work in tandem putting away clothes. Ace feels arms come around as she stands away from the closet putting her second suit away. "I like the blue-striped one."
"Gee I wonder why, could it be because it was the one I was wearing when we met."
"You also had your jacket."
"Which is safely at home."
"I know." Ace turns around in his arms and circles her arms around his neck.
"Hungry?"
"For food or you?"
"I know you are hungry for me, I am for you too, but this time I am talking about food."
"I could eat."
"You can always eat Graham, why don't you order some room service."
"Why room service? Why don't we go and find a restaurant?"
"I want to rest now."
"Ok, I will call to see if they have any vegan options, love."
"You don't have to have vegan food, Graham."
"I know, but I want to." Graham detangles himself from Ace and heads over to the room phone. Ace smiles as he calls and his voice changes.
"What's wrong?"
"They don't have any vegan options beyond fruit. I asked if they knew anywhere I could go to pick you up something, they said the store."
"Graham, I will go."
"You sure?"
Ace walks to him, "trust me, and I can pick up a little something special, that you will greatly appreciate and will be comfortable for me to wear," Ace lightly brushes her lips against Graham's. Graham moans as Ace quickly gets out of his reach and heads out.
