Bishop stared at the meeting room table where Isabella's hand had been the night before, replaying in his mind their fucking session.
"Bishop?"
He looked up at Tranq, snapping out of his trance.
"Yeah?"
"I have the list of possible new locations for the stash," he replied walking toward him, a paper in hand.
Bishop took it and read through what he had written down.
"Good. I think it's wise that we do it," said Bishop as he stood and walked out of the meeting room Tranq behind him.
He looked around the clubhouse at the crew that was there, which consisted of most of its main players. "Alright listen up, Tranq made a list of locations where we could transfer the goods. We have three possibilities."
He handed Taza the paper. "Have a look and let me know which one you think is best. Then we'll transfer the goods tonight and I'll let Marcus know."
Taza looked at it then passed it on as Riz walked inside.
"Riz," said Chucky smiling and pointing at the tin boxes on the bar counter, "Isabella come over last night to bring you these. She said it was for the car."
"Isabella was here last night?" asked Angel.
"Yeah," replied Chucky.
"You should have called me if she stuck around."
Chucky's eyes connected with Bishop's and in that one instant, Bishop knew that there was a big chance that Chucky had heard or seen them together. Bishop casually shook his head at Chucky.
Chucky looked back at Angel. "She didn't stay around, she just dropped them off as no one was here."
"Thought you were here jefe," said EZ.
"I was but was working in the meeting room. I didn't see her," replied Bishop.
"Well, it was nice of her to stop by," said Riz as he took a bite out of a churro. "These are delicious."
Coco reached his hand over to take one and Riz swatter it away. "Does this have your name on it? No, so hands off!"
"I think the best one is the dry cleaner's," said Taza once everyone around the room had looked at the list.
"Agree," said Angel, "it's not too far out and we can trust Santiago to keep things quiet."
The others nodded in agreement.
"We'll make sure Santiago gets financial contribution for his help," stated Bishop as he took out his pack of cigarettes, took one and lit it. "We move the goods tonight when it's dark. Riz, you'll keep an ear out on the police channels just to make sure we don't hit a snag."
"Sure thing, jefe."
When Bishop saw Chucky head outside and to the office, he walked out and headed over, closing the door behind him.
"You saw us last night, didn't you?" asked Bishop as Chucky sat behind the desk.
"Heard, then saw."
"Keep this to yourself for the time being, alright?"
"Sure. Although if you like her that much, why keep it a secret? Is it because of Angel?"
Bishop eyed him.
"I hear things," said Chucky shrugging.
"What do you know?" asked Bishop.
Chucky looked out the window. "She pushed him away."
"Did she tell him why?"
"She said it would never work. He's not thrilled but he's accepted it, somewhat. If you want my opinion, not telling the truth will only make things more complicated when you do."
Bishop shook his head. "Great advice, Chucky."
"Glad I could help," said Chucky smiling. "Angel will hate you whether it's tomorrow or in three weeks. I guess what you need to ask yourself is what's more important… Angel or Isabella? When you have the answer, you'll know what to do."
"Thanks Chucky. In the meantime, not a word or it won't just be your fingers that need prosthetics, but your dick too."
Chucky swallowed. "I'd like to hang on to that."
"Good," said Bishop as he walked out.
Mid-morning, the gang drove around town and inevitably through Maggie's street. They all stopped upon seeing Isabella pack up the car. Seeing them, she put in one of the boxes in the trunk and walked over to them.
"Isobel," said Riz, "thanks for the good stuff."
"Any time," she replied smiling.
"You're leaving?" asked Angel.
"Only for a few days. I'm taking Samuel up to Arizona to help him settle in."
"I thought you didn't need to do that until end of August," he replied.
"We've agreed it's best for him to go early and enroll into their summer program. He'll get acquainted with the campus and make friends before the semester starts."
"Where in Arizona?" asked Bishop.
"Flagstaff."
"That's a long drive," said Taza.
"Shorter than Corpus Christi," replied Isabella laughing.
"Maybe I can go with you,".
Bishop shot a glance at Angel. Angel going with her for a couple of days to Arizona? That was out of the question.
"Lorenzo has been asking me to stop by when I got the chance," said Bishop. "I could drive up with Isabella and Samuel and kill two birds with one stone."
"Who is Lorenzo?" asked Isabella.
"President of the Flagstaff faction," replied Angel. He then looked at Bishop. "Why don't a few of us go?"
"Because you have other business to tend to, and as President, I still call the shots when it comes to how this club operates" replied Bishop. "Taza will come with me, best I'm not alone on the road. We'll escort Isabella and Samuel then head over to the club until Isabella is ready to come back to Santo Padre."
He turned to Isabella. "That is of course if you don't mind us tagging along?"
Isabella smiled at him then at Taza. "No. Although it's not necessary, I don't want any of you to feel obligated to come with us."
"My visit there is way overdue. I'll let Marcus know, I'm sure he'll join us. When were you planning on driving out?"
"I was thinking of leaving early afternoon, that way even with a few stops, we don't get there too late."
Bishop looked at his watch. "Sounds good," he replied, "gives Taza and I time to pack up our things. We'll meet you back here?"
Isabella nodded and shot a quick glance at Angel who either looked mad or sorry that she had to put up with Marcus and Taza instead of him…she couldn't read him when usually she could.
She headed back to the trunk of the car as they drove off. She was happy that Bishop had volunteered to go with her but hated the fact that they were lying to Angel. She didn't owe him anything, but regardless preferred transparency to hidden agendas.
In the afternoon, once Taza and Bishop had arrived, Isabella and Samuel set out on the road with them. She promised her mom she'd call her when they got there and not to worry. Luckily, Felipe had offered to keep her company that evening and even if it had been years, Maggie had been delighted.
EZ was sitting in his trailer when Angel opened the door, walked in, and plopped down on the sofa.
"Bishop came on a bit strong earlier, don't you think?"
"Whenever Isabella is around, you seem to forget he's president and start making decisions on your own," stated EZ putting away the book he was reading.
"It wasn't a decision just for me, I said some of us could go."
"Still you're making calls when it's not your job to. If Bishop had asked some of us to go with her, you included, it would have been different."
"I'd rather do that than move the goods."
"Again, not your call, Angel."
"Why did Bella even agree?"
"Maybe because, unlike you, she's smart enough not to go against what Bishop says?"
Angel grabbed a pillow and threw it at his brother.
"Besides," added EZ, "you still need to give Bella some space."
EZ eyes grew wide as Angel shook his head.
"I can't," replied Angel, "It's driving me crazy. I can't get her out of my mind, EZ. I know she said it was impossible, but I've got to try. I didn't go after her when she left, I'm not going to make the same mistake."
"You are making a mistake."
"Fine," said Angel raising his hands up in the air, "then it'll be my mistake and I'll face the consequences, but at least I won't have any regrets."
"God, you can be so stubborn when you want to be," said EZ. "It won't end well and don't say I didn't warn you."
"Then, consider me warned," said Angel as he stood and walked out of the trailer.
