"Bishop sent out a message to say that they are one hour out," said Riz as he walked inside the clubhouse where the guys were drinking beers and messing around with the girls.

"Is he coming back to the club?" asked Tranq.

"I don't know, he did say. Regardless, we better have this place in tip top shape if he does."

"Alright, everybody start cleaning up," said Tranq setting all the guys and chicas into action.

"I'm going to stop by and see Bella after this," said Angel to EZ as he started to grab a few empty bottles of beer.

"She's been on the road for hours, are you sure it's the right thing to do?" replied EZ as he followed him to the bar. "She'll be exhausted."

"If she is, then I'll leave. I can't pass up this opportunity to talk to her and tell her, I'm not giving up on us being together again."

"You're heading for disaster," said EZ, "she's going to hate you for this."

"Maybe that will be easier."

EZ shook his head as Angel walked away.

"You're right," he heard Chucky say from the behind the counter, "it would be a disaster."

EZ eyed him. "Chucky?"

"I don't know anything. I'm just basing it on your conversation."

EZ narrowed his eyes as Chucky ushered away. He then turned around and looked around the room trying to make sense of the vibe he was getting. If any of the guys had made a move on Bella, they would have said something, then again knowing how they all knew how Angel felt about her, maybe it wouldn't be the case. Maybe Chucky had seen Bella with someone, but it could have been anyone from Santo Padre.

"Mama, I'm home," said Isabella as she walked inside the house.

"Mija, how was the trip? Is Samuel settled in properly?"

"Trip was good. And yes, he's all settled in."

"Oh, I'm glad. Bishop and the others followed you home?"

"Just Bishop. Taza went directly back to the club and Marcus went home."

"Where is he now?"

"I think he was heading back to the club. Why?"

"Well, it would have been nice to invite him in for empanadas, don't you think? I raised you better than that."

"I'm sorry mama, I didn't want to impose anyone, you need your rest."

"My chemo is in two days, which is why I'm trying to do as much as I can before I go back to the hospital."

Isabella frowned. "Why would you go back to the hospital?"

"Doctor Brenneman called and feels it's better I do the chemo at the hospital and stay there for a few days seeing how badly I was after the first session."

"I guess it would be safer."

"And this time mija, I don't want you to stay with me during the night."

"Why not? Samuel is not here, and I can focus on you."

Her mother waved her over to the sofa. "Come sit with me."

"I don't like it when you look at me like that," said Isabella as she sat down next to her mom and took her hand in hers.

"Isabel, you've spent the past 18 years of your life caring for Samuel and now me. You've put your life on hold and it's time you took care of you."

"I am," replied Isabella.

"No, you're not. I know how hurt you were after Angel and I'm sure you're one-night thingy with Samuel's father didn't help your view on men or relationships. You've been using Samuel as an excuse to protect that heart of yours and I refuse for you to do the same with me."

"Mama…"

Maggie put her hand up to hush her daughter. "Isabel don't argue with me on this. Trust me you don't want to get to my age and realize that you are alone."

"Just because I take care of you doesn't mean I can't open my heart up to someone."

"I didn't say I didn't need you, mija. All I'm saying is that while I'm at the hospital, no more sleeping on that uncomfortable cot. You'll come home and sleep here…" Maggie paused for a second and tilted her head to the side, "…or at Bishop's."

Isabella stared at her mom agog.

"What? I wasn't born yesterday, Isabel. I still recognize when a man looks at a woman a certain way and vice-versa and I've seen that between the both of you."

"When?"

"When he came to pick you up to go to Flagstaff."

"And this is the part when you tell me he's a biker and I could do better."

"What he is doesn't matter. You could be with a king and the only thing that would matter is how he treats you. If he has all the gold in the world and disrespects you or belittles you, he's not worthy of you. So, Bishop is a biker, has tattoos and wears leather better than I ever have…"

Isabella couldn't help but laugh at her comment.

"…but I sense that he respects you. I only want your happiness. Something your grandparents never wanted for me, mija."

Isabella knew that her grandparents had never accepted the fact that her father was Mexican and a simple merchant. But her mother chose her father over her own family because she loved him, regardless of who he was.

"El amor es algo hermoso, si lo abrazas," added Maggie. "So, embrace it."

"Si, mama, lo abrazaré."

"Bien, now I need to get ready."

"Ready for what?"

"Felipe has invited me to his house for dinner."

"That is nice of him."

"He's making lamb chops."

"You're favorite."

"Yes. Now, I suggest you write Bishop a message and tell him you're bringing him dinner."

"I haven't cooked anything."

"I prepared a Mexican beef pie."

"You're incorrigible. What am I going to do with you?"

"You'll thank me later," said Maggie as she leaned in and kissed her daughter before standing and heading to her room to get ready.

Bishop's phone beeped and he picked it off the table where the crew were seated. He tried not to smile at Isabella's message, but it was hard.

"I assume the transfer of the stash was uneventful?" he asked putting his phone down.

"Went like a breeze," replied Riz. "How were things with Lorenzo in Flagstaff?"

"Good, they have a new contact with a direct line into the Northern part of Arizona for the drugs."

"Galindo will be happy with that," said Tranq.

"Yes, it means we're going to be able to increase the ongoing traffic. Marcus will let him know tomorrow and Lorenzo and the guys will come down in a couple of weeks to discuss things with Galindo."

"Sounds like everything is going perfectly," said Taza.

"Maybe, but we need to be careful," added Riz. "One of my contacts on the border says that things are heating up. Rebellion is on the uprise and it's pushing other gangs north of the border."

Bishop frowned. "Los Cobras?"

"Among others, yeah."

"You think they'd be crazy enough to come here?" asked Angel.

"Crazy, I don't know but desperate? Yeah, it's possible."

"Then we keep our ears and eyes open. Riz you liaise with your contact and keep us posted on the chatter."

Riz nodded.

Bishop lifted the gavel and slammed it down indicating that the meeting was over.

All the men walked outside and headed for their bikes.

"Hey Bishop. We're going to Vicki's, you coming for a good time?"

"Nah, I have other plans. Have fun."

Angel looked at EZ. "Since when does Bishop refuse a good time at the brothel?"

"Maybe he's got a meeting with Marcus."

"I'm going over to see Bella. I'll meet you at Vicki's later," said Angel as he set out on his bike.

Isabella stopped the car as she reached Felipe's house. As she helped Maggie out, he joined them.

"I'll drop her off after dinner," he said to Isabella.

"OK."

"And I'll see you in the morning," said Maggie as she winked at her.

Isabella shook her head as she went back to the car.

Maggie looked at Felipe. "She's got a suitor."

"I still see them as kids, but they don't need a curfew anymore," he said jokingly.

"But they aren't any more," replied Maggie. "Felipe, our babies are all grown-up. What does that make us."

"Old, Maggie, old."
