Angel frowned upon seeing that Isabella's car wasn't parked in the driveway and that no one was opening the door. He drove down the street and saw afar, her car turn into the street that led into town. He followed her until he lost her when a car placed itself in his lane and he was obliged to stop at the red light while she had already gone through the intersection.
"Shit."
He tried to keep his eyes on where she was going and when the light turned green, he set out after her again. He made the possible turns he thought she had made, no longer seeing her car as he reached residential streets again. Just when he was about to give up, he noticed her car parked up further ahead in front of a house, but there was no sign of her. He parked his bike not too close the house and looked around.
He had been sitting idly for a half an hour when his phone rang, seeing it was EZ, he took the call.
"Are you with Isabella?"
"Not quite."
"Where are you?"
"No idea. She's at someone's house."
"You followed her!"
"I thought she was going into town."
"And when she didn't, that didn't spark something in your head that maybe you should stop following her?"
"She's bound to leave at some point in time."
"You've completely lost it, Angel. Get your ass over here now!"
Angel got off his bike and walked slowly toward the house, then stopped dead in his tracks and frowned.
"Fuck!"
"What?" asked EZ worriedly.
"She's at Bishop's house."
"How do you know? We've never been to his house."
"Because his bike is parked in the driveway on the side of the house."
EZ looked around the room nervously as he remembered what Chucky had said. "Angel, listen to me, get out of there now and come to Vicki's."
"Why?"
"Because that is our President's house, and you can't go snooping around, even if you think that is where Bella is."
"What could she be doing at Bishop's house?"
"Maybe she dropped off some churros to thank him for going with her to Flagstaff. Now leave, before Bishop sees you."
Angel moved closer to the house, still his phone to his ear.
"Angel?" said EZ as he walked out of Vicki's brothel. "Angel?!"
Angel reached the front of the house and peeked inside the window. His eyes squinted trying to focus on what he saw. After a few seconds he saw Bishop naked, sitting on the sofa kissing a woman that was straddling him, naked too. Seeing she had a tattoo down her back, he gave a sigh of relief; it wasn't Bella. He removed his attention from the window and looked around the other houses, wondering where Bella could be. Smiling at the thought that Bishop was getting his own kind of action away from the brothel, he shot another quick glance through the window and felt the life being sucked out of him. Bishop and the girl had shifted from the sofa to the wall where he was ramming into her, and that was when he saw the woman's face, filled with pleasure, …Bella.
He stumbled away from the window; the impression he had been stabbed in the gut. He cut the call with EZ who was still trying to get his attention. He walked back to his bike in a state of torment. Bishop was fucking his girl…and she was letting him, she was enjoying it. He drove off in the direction of Vicki's unable to remove from his mind what he had seen.
EZ paced the floor of Vicki's as Taza eyed him. "Would you quit doing that? It's more disturbing than the bedframes hitting the walls upstairs."
"Sorry, I'm worried about Angel."
"Ah, he'll get over it. There are plenty of girls to fuck here."
EZ stopped pacing and eyed him. "You know."
Taza shrugged. "I spent four days and three nights in Flagstaff with Bishop. He never slept at the clubhouse, there was only one place he could have been."
EZ sat down in the armchair. "Shit. You think she's with him now and that's why he's not here?"
"If I had a woman like Isabella in my bed, I wouldn't come here, either."
"Fuck, Angel is there."
"Where?"
"At Bishop's house."
"What the hell is he doing over there?!"
"He was following Bella so that they could talk."
"Bishop isn't going to like that. He may be with Angel's ex but that doesn't give Angel the right to violate his privacy; club or no club."
"You think I don't know that. Why do you think I was pacing?"
The door flung open, and Angel walked inside partly enraged and spaced out.
"Angel?" asked EZ.
"I need to get drunk and fuck every girl in this place," Angel answered, "maybe then I can get the picture of Bishop fucking my ex, out of my head!"
Neither Taza nor EZ said anything as Angel grabbed a bottle of Cuervo, took a long swig, then headed upstairs where he was bound to find the first girl of the night.
Taza took a cigarette and lit it as he stood and headed for the front door to go smoke it outside. "Well, at least now he knows. Bishop won't have to hide anymore."
EZ stood and followed him outside. "How long do you think this has been going on?"
"My take on it is that it's been a couple of weeks."
"She's been here only a couple of weeks."
Taza laughed. "Bishop may be a biker, but he ain't like us. He's more cultured, he just wasn't dealt the best of cards in his life. I knew someone like Isabella would spark his interest both physically and intellectually. After that, it was a question of days before Bishop would make a move. You can't blame him, most of us would have done the same, even you if she hadn't been your brother's ex."
Angel threw him a glare.
"You don't need to look at me like that, you know I'm right. At least I know that Bishop respects her. I wouldn't be able to say the same for the rest of us, maybe except you."
"So now what do we do about Angel?"
"Nothing. He'll get over it."
"He's going to confront Bishop about it, and you know it just as well as I do."
"When it comes to club business, I know exactly how Bishop handles things. Here, we're talking about matters of the heart and it's personal, I don't know what Bishop will do. Only piece of advice I can give you, is convince Angel that it's in his best interest to let it slide."
"He's an idiot. She told him to drop it most probably because she was already with Bishop. She tried to tell him, and he wouldn't listen." He took in a deep breath and exhaled. "You're right, I love Bella, in my own way. I won't let him put the blame on her again because he doesn't listen, and I won't let him compromise what we have with the club."
Taza put out his cigarette. "Then brother, you know what you've got to do. Just make sure you do it before we head back to the clubhouse in the morning, otherwise all hell is going to break loose, and I personally don't want to see that go down."
EZ nodded as Taza returned inside. He needed to get some sense into Angel, it was best for everyone. If it wasn't the case, Bella would hate him and so would Bishop and Angel would never recover from that.
