As the three of them walked out of the diner and started walking toward Isabella's car, the sound of bike engines was heard from an adjacent street.

"Looks like our guys are out for a stroll," said Adelita. "Maybe I can finally see Angel for the first time today."

"You should go to the club," retorted Letti.

"I'm not about to marry El Presidente," said Adelita teasing Bella, "Not sure my presence there is accepted."

"Don't say that. As long as they are not taking care of business or in meetings, Bishop has no problem with us being there," replied Isabella as she started to frown.

"Why are you frowning?" asked Letti picking up on it.

Isabella kept frowning as she focused on the bike engines. "They don't sound like the bikes from the club."

Just as she finished her sentence, a battalion of 15 armed bikers turned the bend, along with two jeeps carrying heavy artillery. The instant they were on Main Street, they opened fire. Even if they were halfway down the street, Letti, Adelita, and Isabella ducked and took cover between two parked cars.

The sound of bullet flying, people screaming, store windows being shattered was deafening. Isabella reached inside her bag and took out the gun and her phone. As she sped dialed Bishop's number, she removed the safety from the Glock.

Bishop sat at a table with Marcus as they smoked a cigar, Marcus's treat for his engagement, when his phone rang.

"Belita, Marcus says you're crazy to marry me."

He then heard a blaze of bullets fill the line. "Belita?"

"They're here."

He stood instantly and snapped his fingers to get the guy's attention as he put the call on speaker.

"Where are you?"

"Main Street with Adelita and Letti. We're halfway between the dinner and the beginning of the street."

"Do you know how many there are?" he asked as the guys started to get the guns from the artillery.

"Approximately 15 and two jeeps. They're heavily armed, Bishop."

"Get out of there, now!"

Isabella looked toward the opposite direction from where they were. If they could keep out of sight, they'd have enough time to reach the end of the street and run for cover until either they got there, or the cops did. Regardless, she didn't know what good the police would do with this kind of artillery. It was the army they needed.

"Shit!"

"What?" said Bishop as he packed up his bag with various rifles and grenades.

"More are coming in from the East. We're trapped."

An explosion was heard and then the line went dead. Bishop grabbed the phone. "Isabella!" Seeing he was getting no response, he shoved it inside his jeans and walked out.

"I want two groups. Coco, Creeper, EZ, use the tunnel to get into town from the South, it should bring you near Felipe's shop. Use the fire ladder to get to the top of the building and shoot those bastards down. Riz, Tranq, Taza and the prospect, you take the van and tow truck, put in as much heavy-duty artillery as possible and shoot those fuckers down."

They all nodded.

"Angel, Marcus, and I will use the tunnel but branch out to the East between the dry cleaners and the diner. We'll try to get as many people to safety as possible, including Letti, Adelita, and Isabella. Now let's go!"

"What do we do?" asked Adelita freaking out as they were slowly being vised by the two groups that weren't letting up their shooting.

"We stay here. They are shooting at everything and everyone that moves. For the time being they can't see us."

"What if they send another grenade in our direction. That explosion was massive and shook the whole block," said Letti.

Isabella closed her eyes and cursed herself. She knew there were tunnels as they were used to move the drugs and occasionally cross the border, but she had always refused to know where they were. Now, knowing their location would have come in handy.

The sounds of the bike engines stopped and all three looked at each other.

"Did they leave?" whispered Letti.

Isabella lifted her head slightly to look in the reflection of a car's side mirror, before quickly ducking back down. "No. Some of them are on foot."

Gunshots along with screaming and moans were heard resonating throughout the street.

"They're shooting people down," said Adelita franticly. "We're next! Where the fuck is Angel!" she voiced loudly before Isabella placed a hand over her mouth to silence her.

"Shh," said Isabella as she once again tried to look in the mirrors of the cars they were between. A few guys were walking the street while a guy walked down the sidewalk on each side. It was only a matter of time before the one walking on their side of the street or sidewalk, would reach them, if not both. She tightened her hold around the grip of the Glock.

Another explosion hit a shop close to them. Shattered glass flew everywhere, raining down on them as they hunched over. In panic, both Adelita and Letti stood and ran in opposite directions. Whereas Adelita threw herself inside a deserted shop, Letti found herself standing in the middle of the street.

"Well, well," Isabella heard a man's deep Hispanic voice say. "What do we have here?"

Letti froze and turned toward the guy who had his gun aimed at her. She raised her hands. "Please, please don't kill me."

The guy licked his lips as his eyes wandered over Letti's silhouette and curves that stood out in her crop top and mini shorts.

"Maybe I can keep you for later," said the guy as grinned and walked toward her. "Or I can take you somewhere more quiet and fuck your brains out, before I kill you" he said a vile laugh escaping from his big lips.

From where she was, Isabella could see Letti's entire body shake as fear and disgust filled her. She cared a lot about Letti and hadn't lied when she'd said they were a family. Letti had her whole life ahead of her, she wasn't going to let some low-life biker scumbag take it away from her. Her survival and maternal instincts took over and she stood, aiming the gun at the biker as she looked around furtively. If she was quick enough, she could shoot him down, then the one walking up the sidewalk toward her, grab Letti and run into the shop where Adelita had disappeared into.

She closed her eyes, took in a deep breath, then reopened them as she pulled the trigger. Letti screamed as blood splattered her, the bullet having lodged itself in the guy's neck. He grabbed his neck with his hand as he stared at Isabella before tumbling over and crashing at Letti's feet. She then turned and aimed at the other guy, shooting him in the head before running out into the street and grabbing hold of Letti.

"Letti! Come on!" yelled Isabella as she kept pulling her, but it was as if Letti was solidly fixed to the ground, staring agog at the dead body at her feet.

It was a few gunshots in their direction that spurred Letti back to life and she followed as Isabella pushed her toward the cars.

"Shit," said Coco as he prepared his sniper rifle and looked around. Down below, Los Cobras were in a shoot-out with the town police who had arrived. It looked like a war zone as shops were gutted, and lifeless or injured people laid out in the streets and sidewalk.

"Let's kill these mother fuckers," said Creeper as he aimed his rifle and started shooting.

As Marcus, Angel and Bishop climbed out through the latch, the guys in the van started to fire back from the other end of the street. As they progressed, Bishop and Angel took down a few of the Los Cobras who were venturing out toward the parallel streets. They stopped at the corner and stuck their heads out taking in the ongoing bloodbath that was going down as the injured cops tried their best to defend themselves, overpowered.

Usually, the club would never show civilians or cops the array of weapons they had at their disposal, but this was war and Bishop was certain that the mayor and town would close their eyes. They ran toward one of the police cars and exchanged nods with a few of the cops, some who they knew. He took out a few grenades and smoke bombs from the bag and handed them out to the cops as well as Angel and Marcus.

They first threw out the grenades trying to eliminate as many assailants as possible. When the dust cleared, the cops threw out the smoke bombs and moved forward with the Mayans and took out the remainder of Los Cobras. On the other end of the street, Tranq, Taza and the others continued to do the same.

When the last of them had been taken down, the cops and Mayans, from each end of the street, moved forward amongst the now more than audible screams of people realizing that someone they cared about was dead or injured. The moans and the smell of blood were hanging in the air.

"Anybody have eyes on Letti?" asked Coco through the radio.

"No," replied Bishop. "We're moving carefully to make sure we got the last of them. Don't worry, we'll find them."

"OK, we're on our way. EZ is going to check on Felipe."

As they moved onward, Bishop and Angel looked left and right in the hope of seeing Isabella, Adelita or Letti coming out of a shop. As they neared two of the many parked cars, they heard sobbing. When they reached where the uncontrolled sobbing was coming from, Angel saw Letti sitting on the tarmac, her back to the street.

"Letti!?" said Angel as he and the others walked over to her.

She looked over her shoulder upon hearing his voice. "It's my fault, it's all my fault."

Bishop took a step closer, allowing him to see over Letti's body. "No,no,no. NO!" he yelled as he saw a lifeless and bleeding Isabella resting on Letti's lap.

He stepped around Letti and fell to his knees. He placed his finger on the side of Isabella's neck, desperately praying that she had a pulse. He closed his eyes briefly as he felt a weak pulse beat through her carotid artery.

He removed his cut, lifted his button-down shirt off and lifted Isabella's shirt up to see where she had been hit. Her upper left abdomen was bleeding profusely, and he took his shirt, pressing it against where the bullet had penetrated.

Even though ambulances were starting to arrive on the scene, he knew that there wouldn't be enough for everyone. Isabella's time was counted, it didn't take a medic to know that. As the others converged around them, taking the bitterness of the aftermath, he lifted Isabella in her arms.

"Riz, get the van!"

Coco helped Letti off the ground and hugged her. "It's my fault. I panicked and fled out in the street. She killed two of them to save my life and then she got shot," she once again started to cry as Coco caressed her hair.

Bishop walked out into the street, carrying Isabella in his arms, Marcus by his side.

"Come on mi amor, hang in there."

Riz pulled up the van and Marcus opened the back doors before helping Bishop get in, Isabella still in his arms.

As Riz drove off in the direction of the hospital, Bishop caressed Isabella's hair with his free hand. "Don't you dare give up on me know. ¿Me oyes? Lucha, mi amor, por favor."
