Miguel went to his safe, entered the combination and opened it. He took a few piles of documents and cash until he pulled out an envelope written "Cornell" on it. He pulled out a pack of photographs and brought them back with him to the desk. He flipped through them looking at the pictures of him and Izzie, when they had been younger and free, before his father's dark world fell at his feet and changed everything. He had truly loved her, and she had been right along. His father had never seen Izzie as an equal to their family. His father had given him an ultimatum at the time, and Miguel had taken his father's side. He had never looked back, as there had never been any reason to, up until Izzie had stood in front of him at the casino. Regrets, and jealousy toward Bishop had started to take residence in him and, learning about Samuel had only accentuated them.

Bishop walked inside Miguel's house and followed Marcus, downstairs. "Do you know what this is about?"

Instead of answering, Marcus opened the study door and showed him inside.

Upon seeing Bishop walk into the study, Miguel put the photographs back in the envelope before closing it. In the end, he wasn't sure he wanted Bishop to know everything…at least not just yet.

"Take a seat," said Miguel pointing to the chair across from the desk. Once Bishop was settled, even if you could see he was on edge, which was normal, Miguel continued. "I know who has Isabella and Samuel."

Bishop narrowed his eyes. "How? Who has them?"

"After you left, I was contacted by a man who turns out to be a District Attorney. He's the one who has them in custody."

"What does the club have to do with a District Attorney?"

"Initially nothing."

"Then why did he take them?"

"It's about the cartel."

Bishop shook his head in disbelief. "Isabella and Samuel know nothing of what's going down between us and the cartel, aside from the fact that we do business together. So why take them?"

"My best bet is that they were more approachable than Emily and Cristobal."

"I'm sorry Miguel, but I still don't get any of this. If it's you they are after, what do they hope to get out of taking Isabella and Samuel?"

"They know that if it touches the club and the drugs, that I'll get desperate. They want, among other things, to get a cut from the drugs, it's the only way they'll ignore our side business."

"If you do that, they let Isabella and Samuel go?"

"Yes."

"Is that something you can do?"

Miguel sighed. "It would mean I'd have to lower your cut and that of the Hongs."

"Fine, do it. Isabella is worth much more to me than a decrease in our cut."

"I know you're President, but I believe that kind of decision needs a vote. And furthermore, I don't know how the Hongs are going to take it. They are not impacted by this kidnapping."

"Look, leave the club management and decisions to me. If the Hongs refuse, you can lower our cut even more."

"Discuss it with your crew, I'll talk to the Chinese, and I've also asked to meet up with the District Attorney again."

Bishop stood. "I don't know what to say. In the end, nothing forces you to do this. I appreciate it and I'm sure Isabella and Samuel will too."

"I'm partly responsible for them being in this situation. It's the very least I can do."

"Please, keep me in the loop," added Bishop as he headed for the door.

"I will."

When Bishop was gone, Marcus looked at Miguel. "Are you sure withholding information from him is wise?"

"Bishop only needs to know what I need for him to know."

"He will find out the truth one way or another. Don't you think it's best to hear it from you?"

"And what truth do you want me to tell him? That I knew his fiancée when we were in college and was in love with her. That she got pregnant with my child and that if I had known, Isabella would never have been with him because I would be married to her still to this day?"

"You still have feelings for her?" asked Marcus unsure he wanted to know the answer to the question even if it was pertinent.

"I tucked away all the feelings I had for her when I left college, because I didn't have a choice. Seeing her at the casino has brought them to the surface, Marcus. I know it shouldn't be the case, but it is. And right about now, along with those feelings, I don't want either of them to be in Bishop's life. She's better than a biker's club, she always has been."

"But she wasn't good enough for your father."

"No. She came from a middle-classed family and was there on a scholarship. My father hadn't put me at an Ivy League College to spend my time and fall in love with those who couldn't afford it full price."

"And today your father is no longer around."

"No. And I despise him for knowing Izzie was carrying my child and not telling me. He robbed me of Samuel's life. I missed so many things in his life and I won't get that time back."

"It's never too late, Miguel," said Marcus sincerely.

"I hope not."
