Ben 10 Ultimate Hero EP 3: Waterfilter
I don't own anything, except my OCs.
Intro:
A green glowing, steel pod was flying through space, hurtling towards Earth as it crashed, making a huge green flash.
The camera zooms out from the glowing symbol on the Ultimatrix as Ben looks up close at it.
He then activates it while smirking at the camera, raising his hand high and slapping it down on the core.
The background turns all green as Ben morphs into Four Arms, who pumps his upper fists while cracking his lower ones with a smirk.
A white number appears on the left side, starting at 1.
"Ben 10!"
2: Heatblast ignites 2 fireballs in his hands.
"Ben 10."
3: XLR8 zooms to the right.
4: Diamondhead swaps his right arm across as it turns into a blade.
"BEN 10!"
5: Cannonbolt uncurls and poses.
"Ben 10!"
"Ben 10."
6: Upgrade stretches out of his puddle form.
7: Grey Matter hops off the 7 and lands into a crouch, giving a thumbs up and a smile.
"BEN 10!"
8: Water Hazard slides in on his water blasts and raises his fists.
"Ben 10."
9: Wildvine extends his legs and stretches out his right fingers while holding seeds in his left one, chucking them offscreen.
10: Big Chill phases through the number and floats briefly before zooming near the camera.
"BEN 10!"
Big Chill's head turns back into Ben's as it rotates.
The camera zooms out to reveal Max and Gwen by his side.
Ben gives a low-five to his grandfather and Gwen crosses her arm and shakes her head playfully with a smile.
The 2 then ran off-screen, making Ben run toward the camera with a look of determination.
He then froze as the series logo appeared above along with his alien, 5 on each side.
Grandpa was busy driving the Rust Bucket at night as the kids were in the back, only to notice they had arrived at their next destination. "Here she is, kids: Niagara Falls!" "Whoa!" Gwen exclaims as she sees the majestic landmark pass by them out of the left side window. "Pfft... Niagara Falls? What's there do here?" Ben wonders in a bored tone as he reads a comic.
"Seriously? It's only the biggest waterfall in America and one of its greatest landmarks, ever!" "Wait... Did you say waterfall!?" Ben's eyes widened in glee at what Gwen said. Gwen then gained a worried expression at seeing her cousin's changed tone and expression. "I know that look… Ben! No!" "But-" "I said no, Ben!" She frowns with her hands on her hips as the kid shrugs. "What?" "Every time you get near a huge body of water, like a lake, pool, or the beach you embarrass yourself, cause a scene and splash everyone!" "No, I don't! Since when?" Gwen crosses her arms with a knowing look. "Like when we were 6 and you jumped off the roof of your house at the family BBQ?" Ben winches in response.
[Flashback] At Ben's house, a 6-year-old Gwen looks up at the roof and shouts out. "Ben! NO!" "CANNONBALL!" 6-year-old Ben cries out as he leaps off and cannonballs into the pool, splashing everyone. The young boy got out and chuckled, only to notice the unamused frowns of everyone else. "What?" [Flashback over]
"Or the time you leaped off that boat at the beach when you were both 8?" Max mentions as Ben looks away sheepishly.
[Flashback] At the bench, 8-year-old Gwen, wearing a one-piece blue swimsuit cries out Ben, who is now clad in a pair of green swim trunks as he stands on the deck of a rented boat. "Ben, no!" "CANNONBALL!" He cries out as he runs and leaps off and splashes into the water, sending a wave that sends a screaming Gwen away. [Flashback over]
Gwen grits her teeth in growing anger. "And let's not forget last year, when you ruined my best friend, Emily's Birthday Party?!" She growls out with crossed arms as Ben gets a troubled look as he rubs the back of his neck and looks away.
[Flashback] At the local water park, Gwen, now 9 years old and wearing the same type of swimsuit as before, along with a blonde hair girl with pale blue eyes and wearing a two-piece red swimsuit stand by a table with a bunch of presents and a large cake. "BEN, NO!" Both girls cried out in dismay as the boy climbed to the top of a very tall high-dive board and began bouncing up and down with a smirk. "CANNONBALLLLLLLLLL!" He cried to the heavens as he reached the clouds and flew down, crashing into the large pool. The girls whimpered at the sight of the huge wave it caused and splashed down on all the people.
Ben climbs out of the empty pool as he chuckles. 'That was so cool! I bet it can be seen from space!" He then bumped into the soaked girls. "Oh, sup, Gwen? Hey, Emily! Having an awesome party!?" He grins out, totally unaware of the looks both girls were sending him as they felt their anger growing. "What?" Was all the boy could say as both girls roared and pounced on him, beating him up! "OW! HEY! NO! STOP! OW! OW! OW! SORRY! I'M SORRY! UNCLE! UNCLE! STOP! OW!" [Flashback over]
Ben rubs his arms, recalling the beating as Gwen finishes. "I had to do favors and apologize to Emily for a whole month before she could talk to me again! Not to mention, you got us kicked out of the water park for 6 months!"
"Okay, okay! I'm sorry about that last one! So, I like cannonballing! What else are you going to do with water?" Ben shrugs as his cousin looks at him with a deadpan expression. "See? This is why I'm worried! Especially now that you have got a group of super-powered aliens at your fingertips now! If we're going to survive this summer, maybe you need a little help?"
"Help? What are you talking about?" Ben questions as he gets out a pickle jar from a cupboard but struggles to open it. "You know, just sometimes, you need a filter." "A 'filter' What do you mean?" Ben was trying to pry the jar open with a screwdriver. Only for it to slip out as it hits something with a cat screeching.
"Someone that sits through all your ideas and tells when one of them is bad." Gwen explains "Really?" Ben questions as he tries a wrench, only to fall from the force. "Yeah. It can make you more likable, and less likely to tick someone off." "Why would I want that? And besides, I don't know what you're talking about." He then grabs a bat and gets ready to smash the jar. But Gwen was quicker and grabbed it. "Just trust me."
"Who needs a filter when I got 'Ben-tuition'! That small feeling in my gut that is never, ever wrong." Ben smugly points out. "Look, Ben. Your "Ben-tuition" is awesome! But would it be more awesome if I was there to pump the brakes, once in a whole? So, you won't accidentally destroy any national monuments, like at the time at the museum last week?" "Hey! I was trying to stop those thugs from robbing the place! Besides, that statue was asking for it!" Ben exclaims while pointing at his cousin.
"You know, Ben, that might not be a bad idea. With your powers and Gwen's intellect, you 2 would be an unbeatable team." Grandpa calls from the driver's seat. "Well?" "Uh... I guess so?" Ben answers his cousin while scratching the back of his head. Gwen then responded as she effortlessly opened the pickle jar. "Great! So, we agree that you'll run your ideas by me first! Pickle?" "Fine..." Ben answers in annoyance at both Gwen's plan and the fact she managed to open the stubborn jar while he couldn't and ate a pickle.
Later, when everyone is asleep in the parked RV, The Tennysons are sleeping soundly… Until Ben opens 1 eye and looks around at his family in deep sleep. He then quietly sneaks out of his bottom bunk. He opens the door as he chuckles to himself softly, wearing a white and black baggy shirt with green pajama bottoms and barefoot. "Time for some unfiltered fun!" Ben said to himself as he quietly slips out the door, closing it behind him as he slips away, stopping in front of the RV. "Let's see… Diamondhead? No. Heatblast? Nope. Cannonbolt? Yeah!" Ben said as he slams down the core after making his selection.
Ben felt his arms getting bigger as armor formed on his forearms and shoulders while the same thing happened to his back as he felt his feet become smaller and stump-like as he curled up, spun, and landed with a grin.
Cannonbolt approached the railings and clapped his hands, very excitably. "Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy!" He then backs up from the railing and then rolls into a ball and shoots forward. Just as he was about to hit the railing, He leaps up into the air and into the bottom of the falls. "CANNONBOLT BAAALLLLL!" SPLASH The splashdown was so huge it can be seen from space briefly. A nearby fisherman was completely soaked and mumbled out at his soaked pick-up. "Darn it, I just washed that truck."
Cannonbolt was chucking to himself as he climbed out of the lake as the symbol beeps, timing him out to Ben. "Best Cannonball ever!" He yells out as he heads back to the Rust Bucket to sleep. But unbeknownst to him, the cannonball waves knock over a rock at the bottom of the lake, revealing an orange eye with a black silted pupil.
A giant green salamander-looking monster with tentacles on the sides of his head rose out of the lake. "MUST FEED!" It said in a menacing voice. It then opens its sharp teeth-filled mouth lashes out its long mint green tentacle-like tongue and grabs the fisher's truck. "Darn it, I just bought that truck." The monster then eats the truck and then heads into town to eat more things.
The next morning, The Tennysons were asleep, only waking up to the sound of screaming people. "What was that!?" Gwen called out with a surprised look as she sported a teal blue shirt and white sleeping shorts. Max, wearing blue with multiple yellow lightning bolts Pajamas spoke out. "I don't know!" The kids look out the window to see the tongue tentacle chasing after a group of people as Ben mumbles. "Giant tentacle rampaging through town? Not the weirdest thing I've ever seen." The tongue then grabs 2 people and starts pulling them in. Realizing that it's Hero time after he gets out of the RV and gets dressed, Ben turns towards the watch and starts dialing.
"Okay, who should I go with?" Just then, after dialing past Grey Matter, he saw an icon he had never seen before. It looked like a tall humanoid and had bumps on its shoulders and forearms with 4 claws on them. It also has a hood along with spikes on its feet and legs. "Whoa! I hadn't used this guy yet!" "Ben, No!" "Hey! No looking over my shoulder when I'm alien-picking!" He said to his cousin, who was right behind him. "Hello! Filter here! This is no time to test out a new alien! Just pick someone you know!" "I know you mean well. But my 'Ben-tuition' is telling me this new guy is perfect for this job!" Ben responds to his cousin.
"But-" "Sshhh. Trust me on this." Ben pulls his finger from his cousin's lips with a smirk as she growls in annoyance. Ben slams down on the gauntlet, creating a burst of green light.
He starts getting engulfed in barnacles as his eyes turn all watery. His right arm turns into the water before getting covered by a black sleeve that is connected to a forearm that is red and scaly with a single barnacle on it and one in its palm as it grew sharp claws that have small spikes on them and a grey spike on the elbow part. He then fired a blast of water from the hole in his hand. His back was facing the 4th wall as a red, smooth hood grew from his shoulders to over his head. His legs then grow long as they become red with black spots and barnacles on the side thighs with 2 spikes on the calves, 1 grey spike on the knees, and 2 grey segmented toes on the feet. "Let's do this!" An underwater-sounding voice was heard as the alien spun and then posed.
The new alien Ben turned into is a tall, red, mollusk-like-alien. He has 2 green eyes along with a mouth that does not move when he speaks, covered by a black mask-like growth with openings for the eyes. He has 2 more eyes on his chest with crab legs on his black stomach and has 2 toes the same style as his claws. He lastly has 1 barnacle on his shoulders, palm, wrist, thigh, and grey spikes on his knees, and a single small spike on his calves with the dial on his chest.
Ben lands on his feet and looks to see the tentacle is still pulling the screaming people in. "Okay, new guy, let's see what you can do!" He then points his palm at the slimy organ and fires 3 quick bursts of water. The water impacted with enough force to make the tentacle let go of the people, who then ran off to safety. "Cool! You're like the world's most powerful water gun! I can dig that!" He then noticed the tentacle shake and lunge at him, knocking him into a wall. Ben sat up and rubbed his hood and noticed something. "Huh… I barely felt that. Super tough exoskeleton armor can take a beating and keep on blasting! I give this alien 5 stars! Hey, get back here!" Ben called out to the retreating tentacle while firing his water blasts to the ground to propel himself, akin to Iron Man's flight.
Ben landed near a bunch of bushes, only to his surprise at the tentacle was part of the giant monster. "What the heck is that!?" Ben questions out loud as Gwen and Max hide with him in the bushes as Grandpa Max watches through a pair of binoculars. The monster keeps grabbing and eating things. "And why is it so hungry?" The alien ponders out. "There's a legend about a creature called the 'Hydromander'. It lives under these falls and hibernates for thousands of years. It only wakes up to do important things, like eating." Gwen answers as she looks up info on her iPhone, which is black and has a decal of a snow-white lion on it.
"Wow! That's some rotten luck for this to happen when we arrived here." Max mumbles as Gwen states. "Luck? Or someone must have woken it up." "Uhh... yeah! Someone else did that! But not me, I've been sleeping all night. Really!" Ben replies nervously as he glances away.
Just as the humans glanced away, they noticed Cannonbolt's marks near them. "Where have we seen those tracks before? And it looks like it leads to..." Putting all the pieces together, Gwen realizes what is happening as she glares at her transformed cousin, who nervously taps his claws. Gwen kept glaring as Max caught on. "Ben... Did you have something to do with this, young man?"
"Okay! Okay! My 'Ben-tuition' may or may not have led me to sneak off last night and cannonball a hungry tentacle monster out of his sleep. But in my defense on 2 things, one: You should have seen that cannonball! It was awesome and can even be seen from space! And second, how was I supposed to know there was a monster under these falls?! At worst, I thought we get kicked out." "What have we just talked about?! You run everything by me! Your filter! I can't believe you did this, doofus!" Gwen facepalms as she groans out.
"This is no time to argue, kids! This thing looks like it's about to eat the whole town!" Max said to get his kids to focus as the monster was about to eat a tourist boat filled with screaming people. Ben sees this and leaps into action. He landed on top of the boat and faced the tongue coiling it. "Next up on the tour: SUSHI!" He created water blades from his palms and sliced the tentacle, cutting it into 3 and releasing the boat as the monster roared in pain.
Ben then jumped on the Monster's head and fought off more tentacles, using water blades and blasts. The Hydromander screeched in pain as his tentacles got chopped off and blasted. Ben then leaps up holding his arms crossed in front as he prepares to fire a 360 blast. But just then, water starts forming into something in his palms as he did not notice. But as Ben lets loose, he is surprised that instead of streams of water, the water has formed into some sort of shuriken, much like the ones a ninja uses. The throwing stars slice through all the tentacles as the monster cries out in agony and pain. "Whoa! How did I do that?" Ben ponders as he looks at his hands. Ben then starts to focus his water as it hardens and forms into a kunai knife made out of aqua! "I can make ninja weapons?!" But as he is distracted, one of the small tentacles grabs Ben's leg, rising and slamming him underwater while diving down as well.
"Hey, let go! Can't breathe... Wait a minute! This new alien can breathe underwater? You are so in for it now!" Ben exclaims and then fires his palms at the beast. Suddenly, he was blasted backward out of the creature's grasp and slammed into the oven floor. "Okay, so much for that. What if I…" Ben then floated up and fired a curved blast, only for it to go around him and hit him in the side as the Hydromander just stared.
"All right, let's try this!" Ben, finally getting the hang of fighting underwater, propels himself at the monster. He then spins around him, creating an underwater whirlpool. "Ha! Let's see you try to escape that whirlpool!" Ben taunts the monster while floating away from it. Suddenly, The Hydromander's tadpole-like tail grabs him by surprise and starts carrying him to the bottom. The beast slams Ben down on the floor, making him groan in pain. And to add insult to injury, The Hydromander scraps rocks on him like a dog. It then took back up to the surface.
The monster broke through the surface of the water and grabbed the tour boat again with a regenerated tongue. All the tourists quickly abandoned the ship, just as the organ lifted the ship. The Hydromander ate the tour boat and let out a loud burp, satisfied. "FEEDING COMPLETE!" It then heads off to who knows where.
Ben was starting to come to when he noticed a hook to a cable near him, making him grab it as it started pulling him out of the water. "Ben!" Gwen calls out as she runs towards him. Max uses the front tow cable on the Rust Bucket to pull Ben out, who is coughing and questions his cousin. "Where did it go?!" "It's heading up the stream, Let's Go!" Max called out after seeing the monster heading up a river.
Later, as the Rust Bucket was chasing after the beast, Ben was pacing back and forth, grumbling to himself as his cousin was looking up info on her laptop. "I can't believe this! I got schooled by that frog-monster thing! A peaceful little town is now ruined by a reawakened ancient monster! All because of my stupid 'Ben-tuition'!" "Well, I'm just glad you're okay, cousin." "Well, no one's safe yet! Looks like this thing heading out to Lake Erie!" Max calls out at seeing the monster swimming in the lake as they pass the sign for the lake. "You were right. I do need a filter! Will you help me?" Gwen nods her head at Ben's question.
The Tennysons approached the shore of the lake to see the Hydromander lying on its back as it floated on the surface. "Look! I think it's hurt." Gwen calls out as she points at the beast, which is shaking as its skin starts to grow bubble as it closes its eyes and starts sinking. "I don't believe it! It's going down!" The boy exclaims in glee. "It's history! You did it, Ben!" "Oh yeah! Woooo-hooo! Yes! I'm the best! You can't stop this! Cause I bring it!" Ben responds to his cousin's comment as he starts dancing in victory at defeating the beast while his cousin watches in amusement.
Just then, bubbles start to rise from the surface, getting Max's attention as he looks through his binoculars and frowns at what he is seeing. "I wouldn't start victory dancing so soon, Ben." "Why not? It's not every day I destroy a Hydromander! Put that on my hero resume!" "It's not destroyed, it's multiplying." "…Say what?" Ben asked in dread at Max's grim answer.
A Smaller version of the Hydromancer appeared in the bubble as it opened its eyes. "This must be the other thing it does when it wakes up: It replicates!" Gwen answers. "Uh-oh..." Ben said in worriment, realizing he was going to have to deal with a whole bunch of Hydromanders when he already had trouble with just one. Suddenly, a whole bunch of small Hydromanders reached the surface, all snarling and growling.
"Who should I go with?!" "Use someone you know, inside and out! Like Heatblast!" Gwen answers her cousin's question as he activates the Gauntlet and twists it to his flame guy. "Okay, Heatblast!" He then slaps down on the core, creating a blast of green light. When the light died down, Heatblast stood, ready to roast some Hydromanders!
"Hope you guys like the classics, 'cause here's a trusty standby I like to call: Fireball!" He called out as he held an orb of fire in his right hand. He then threw it at a Hydromander, knocking it back into the water. Just then 2 more were raised to take its place. "Here's another one called: Flaming Discs!" Heatblast then throws discs made of fire and nailed both, only for more to keep coming. "Okay then! Let's see you guys try my Fire Moon barrage!" Heatblast then leaps up into the air and starts tossing Crescent moon-shaped blasts at them, blasting beast after beast. "And for the finale: Dragon's breath!" He took a deep breath and spewed out a flame stream like a dragon, taking out even more Hydromanders.
"Well, that takes care of-gah!" Heatblast is surprised to see many more Hydromanders in the lake. "Gwen! There are too many of them! What do I do now?!" Just when things couldn't get worse, a few of the small monsters lashed out with their tongues, coiling around Heatblast's legs and dragging him towards the lake. "Ben!" Gwen calls out in shock. As soon as Heatblast hit the water, steam started emerging from him.
As Heatblast floated underwater, as he was now all grey with steam coming from his head, he saw a bunch of Hydromanders heading towards him. He tried to throw a fireball, but couldn't because he was in water, his enemy element. He kicks off a few of them and heads towards the surface. He broke through just as he changed back and called out. "Gwen, Grandpa!"
"Oh no! Why did I suggest Heatblast near a lake?!" Gwen bangs her fist on her forehead, forgetting Heatblast's weakness. Just then, she noticed a bunch of tentacles swarming her and Grandpa. Luckily, Max went back to the RV earlier and got a bat and a crowbar to defend themselves as they swung at the tentacles. "Guys! Quick! Use the cable!" Ben calls out from the water. "We can't get to it! They're all over us!" Max cries out "Ben! Use your 'Ben-tuition'!" Gwen calls out while whacking some tongues away with her bat. "But that's what got me in trouble!" "No, it isn't! I got you in trouble by making you doubt yourself! Your 'Ben-tuition' is okay for you!"
Suddenly, Ben was dragged screaming below the water by some Hydromanders who slammed them onto the floor. He is coming around when he widens his eyes at seeing the Hydromanders hurling a large rock to crush him. Thinking quickly, he rolls to the side just as the rock lands near him. He then heard a beeping sound from the watch, signaling him that it was recharged and ready to go! He pushed the button and then slapped down on it, creating a flash of green light that destroyed the rock, revealing the new alien.
"Somebody orders an underwater beatdown? Courtesy of Water Hazard?!" The Hydromanders just look at each other while the newly named Water Hazard deadpans. "I hate it when they don't answer. Let's do this!" He then rose to float at level with the Hydromanders. The creatures lashed out with their tongues. But Water Hazard made his water knives and sliced through them. The Hydromanders charged at him, making Water Hazard spin and create a shockwave that knocked them all back. "Yeah!" But as he spots more coming from behind, his body starts shimmering until he is camouflaged with the sea as the Hydromanders are confused. "Whoa! Camouflage while underwater?! This dude is a total ocean ninja!" He exclaims as he starts punching and kicking Hyrdromanders while invisible, leaving the monsters confused and unsure of what to do as they can't find Water Hazard!
Back on the surface, Grandpa was fighting to pry his crowbar away from a Hydromander when he yanks it out of the water and onto the land. The Hydromander suddenly dried up and moaned weakly as Gwen looked at it as she gasps out. "They get weaker and dry up on land! That means…" "Hold still you little…" Water Hazard said as he held a wiggling Hydromander up while on the surface as his invisibility was gone. "BEN! Get them onto land!" "What!?" Water Hazard calls out to his cousin. "Just do what you would usually do with water!"
Water Hazard punches the Hydromander away and excitably asks. "Really!? Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy!" He then uses his propulsion to back up away from the lake and then starts running towards it, rocketing up at the sky at the last second. He then curls into a ball and shouts as he starts falling. "CANNONBALL!" SPLASH The wave Water Hazard made was so huge, that it sent all the Hydromanders flying in different directions. They landed on the surface, all dried up and weak. One even landed where a couple was having a picnic, surprising them.
Water Hazard grabs one off a tree breach and holds it up high as it wiggles around. "Lame… Lame…" The creature moans out as Water Hazard commits. "Huh… They are kind of cute when they're out of water."
Later, Grandpa finished putting the cage filled with dried-up Hydromanders on the back of the RV while wrapping chains around it for good measure. Gwen was watching when she looked back to see her cousin looking at the fall while leaning on the railing. "Ben, I want to say I'm sorry. If I hadn't gotten in the way, your 'Ben-tuition' would be just fine." "It's okay, Believe it or not, your filter is kind of helpful." "We just have different ways to handle things: Mine is to play it safe. While your way is fast and loose, by the seat of your pants, kind of thing."
FLASH "CANNONBOLT BALL!" Gwen opens her eyes in surprise to see Cannonbolt flying and landing in the lake, splashing Max and Gwen as they both are annoyed with what he did. "Did he seriously just do that?" "Yes, he did..." Max sighs out as they both dripped water.
