A/N: CRed1988-
A fight in the middle of the wedding. How original. I wonder what will happened next?
Not gonna lie, dude, when I read this I thought you were being snarky. How original is a classic sarcastic line, after all. Then, I thought of it, and realized you were right. I was gonna reference the Red Wedding, but that was a slaughter, not a fight. Then, I thought of Sleeping Dogs, but that was more of an assassination and shoot-out instead of a straight-up fight. I honestly can't think of any time there was a true brawl at a wedding. Not even on YouTube fail videos. Weird. Now I have to know if anyone has any shows, movies, or games they can recommend that show a fight during the wedding. No guns. No assassinations. No poisoning the wedding cake (WHICH I SAW ON A FREAKIN' REDDIT POST! WHAT THE FUCK, YOU CRAZY EX?!). I'm talkin' full-on superhero brawl! Martial arts mayhem! Speaking of mayhem, ON WITH THE SHOW!
Bruce and Sandra looked around to see their friends taking on the League of Assassins. Bruce was proud to see how well his sons and Barbra were doing, especially since they had changed into their uniforms so quickly. Not even Jim could have noticed Barbra changing into her costume, the girl striking an Assassin that planned to attack him from behind, and Gordon nodding in appreciation before shooting another assassin.
Sandra saw Artemis and Onyx work perfectly together to take out an Assassin rather easily before they went after the next.
"It seems your little surprise is going rather well... for us, anyway," Sandra said as she looked down at Talia, her hands still covered in her dress's sleeves.
"I believe you are celebrating too soon, Lady Shiva."
"I doubt that, lady." Talia looked over her shoulder to see Hal floating down toward her. "You're gonna need more than a few Banes to take us down," he said as he brought down the Assassin that kicked him earlier, the massive man knocked out.
Talia just stared at Hal. "The Green Lantern. You have an interesting weapon. Capable of creating anything, with only your imagination being the limitation of your power, and of course the charge of your ring. However, the other, more important aspect of your power, is the need for Will. Without it, your power is useless."
"Look who did their homework. You want a sticker or something?"
"Another weakness you have is the color yellow. A quint, almost cute weakness. But a useful one, nonetheless." Talia then threw something at Green Lantern.
He tried to create a wall to block it, but it went right through, forcing Hal to catch it with his bare hands, which he was able to do. "A yellow knife? Really lady? That was your big trump card against me?"
"No."
The knife then opened up holes on the blade, a yellowish gas bursting out, making Hal cough.
"My Beloved has a foe that might as well have been tailor-made to be your Achilles Heel, Jordon."
Bruce's eyes widened. "No. HAL! WHATEVER YOU SEE, IT ISN'T REAL!"
"What are you-" Hal began before his eyes widened. "Carol? Carol, what's wrong? Why did you power do-"
Blood splattered all over Hal's face, making his eyes widen.
Carol looked at Hal with wide, horrified eyes. "H-Hal." She was impaled... by Parallax, the monster appearing behind the woman he loved. "I... love you." Parallax then bit Carol in half.
Hal screamed as he fell to the ground, powering down completely, in a fetal position as he clenched his head. "NO! NO! YOU'RE AFTER ME, DAMN YOU! LEAVE HER ALONE! CAROL! CAROL! DAMMIT, I PROMISED! I WOULDN'T HURT YOU ANYMORE! LEAVE HER ALONE! CAROL," he sobbed.
"So that is what you fear. An admirable weakness," Talia said as she looked down coldly at the now sobbing Hal.
"YOU BITCH!"
Talia looked up, only to be grabbed and slammed against the wall by Star Sapphire, Carol Jordon glaring furiously at Talia.
"What did you do to my husband?!"
"Only incapacitate one of the greatest threats in the building, Carol Ferris. Oh, wait, it's Carol Jordon, is it not?"
"You just messed with a Violet Lantern's love." Carol then created a massive boxing glove covered in spikes. "I'll show you a great threat, sister."
Talia smirked. "No. You won't."
Carol felt her construct being held back. She looked and was shocked to see a yellow hand grabbing it. "Is that-"
"Sinestro and my father had a business deal not too long ago. Access to a sample of Lazarus in exchange for a single Yellow Ring." She looked at the Assassin who was wielding the ring, his face still hidden by the Assassin uniform but was wearing the Sinestro Corp uniform over it. "Kill her."
The Assassin created a kanabo mace and smashed it into Carol, sending her flying before flying after her to fulfill his mission, the two lanterns now fighting in the sky.
Talia looked back toward the soon-to-be-wed couple, only to see Sandra on her own, the beauty still staring at Talia with her hands in her sleeves. "My Beloved certainly knows how to make an exit, does he not?"
"You won't be allowed to call him that ever again, Talia. As of today, he's MY husband, and I do not like to share."
"Then I'll just have to kill you to make him mine, now won't I," Talia asked with a smirk.
"Oh, you make it sound so easy. Well, you can try again after you awaken from your coma."
As soon as Sandra said that, Batman was about to strike Talia from above, the punch he would land having enough force to ABSOLUTELY render Talia unconscious.
However, Batman was instead drop kicked, the hero landing on his back before flipping back onto his feet, seeing who attacked him. "Orphan."
"Round 2, you flying rodent," Orphan said as he readied his sword.
"Do not forget, Cain." He turned toward Talia. "I want him ALIVE."
Cain stared at Talia. "If I kill him, wouldn't that mean I'M the superior of us two?"
"Mm, I suppose it does. Do try to impress me, Cain. You might be rewarded."
"Just what I wanted to hear," Cain said as stabbed a syringe into his neck, injecting himself with the Lazarus Venom. He then began to groan before roaring as he grew in size. Somehow, despite being the size of Bane, his clothes didn't tear. He instead took a breath to calm himself before pointing his sword at Batman. "I'm going to enjoy this, Wayne."
Batman looked as stoic as ever before he took his stance. "I knew it would be a good idea to bring these out again," he said as his shock gauntlets sparked back to life.
Sandra looked down at Talia as she approached the bride, neither one looking intimidated by the other.
"The last time we fought, it ended terribly for you, Talia," Sandra began as she took off her headdress and wrapped the sleeves around her arm. "What makes you think this time will be any different?"
Talia stared at Sandra before she reached behind her and took out a small vial.
"Let me guess, the Lazarus-Infused Venom?"
"Very astute, Lady Shiva. However, just a small sample compared to what the rest of my Assassins injected themselves with. However, this is more than enough." Talia then drank the concoction in one go.
Talia grunted before she began to pulse and groan. She then yelled out in pain as she began to grow. Her boots burst apart, her pants tearing here and there, and her sleeves began to rip. When her transformation was complete, the still beautiful Talia was tall enough to be at eye level with Lady Shiva, the beauty still at the top of the stairs.
"Mm. Impressive. Not by much, mind you, but not bad. Not bad at all."
"Yes, I quite like the results as well. Not bad for the first test."
"So this is your first time becoming like Bane?"
"And what better way to test this power than to kill you, Lady Shiva?"
"Lái ba (Bring it)."
Talia then lunged at Lady Shiva, beginning their battle.
Wonder Woman was taking on an entire squad of Venom Assassins on her own. Considering it was her, she wasn't even breaking a sweat. Still, they were a bit more challenging than even she expected. Their size didn't hinder their speed at all, and they were still incredibly skilled with their marital arts. They even landed a few hits on Diana, but she was able to hit back with ten-fold the force.
"Impressive as always, Diana."
Wonder Woman looked toward the voice. "Ares." Wonder Woman didn't hesitate to charge at Ares, trying to punch him. She was shocked when he easily caught her fist.
"Do you not see the conflict occurring in the building alone? This battle is comparable to war due to how powerful the warriors are. Even the mortals are fueling me. Truly, a fine feast and a worthy offering to me." Ares then punched Wonder Woman, sending her flying before chasing after her.
While she was in midair, Ares tried to slam her, but Diana was able to catch Ares's punch and spin him around before throwing him toward the room. Ares slammed onto the ground before Diana slammed onto him, jumping off and landing away from the War God before he jumped to his feet.
"This is the second time you interfered with Bruce's union, Ares. I understand preventing me from wedding him, but why interfere once more," Diana asked as she and Ares began to pace around the roof.
"Of course, I would wish to prevent the marriage of these mortals. It's quite convenient, to have an Oracle be loyal to you. My personal Oracle showed me what would happen should Elissa become a reality in this world."
"You prevented my daughter's creation. In my eyes, you might as well have MURDERED her."
"Flattery, Diana? I thought you were better," Ares said with an evil chuckle. His smirk went away. "I had thought preventing your union with that mortal would be the end of my woes. It seems I was wrong."
"What are you talking about?"
"The union between the two mortals beneath us is the beginning of my end."
Diana's eyes widened. "What?"
"The Oracle has shown it to me. The spawn between those two mortals will bring about a peace comparable to that which Elissa was destined to bring. Gotham would rise like a phoenix, and with its influence, peace would spread like a virus, killing war and diminishing my power to nothing. Through the acts and teachings of the mother and father, the children will create a realm comparable to the Elysian Fields themselves."
Diana smirked as she drew her sword. "I thank you, Ares. Before, I would have fought you over the simple fact of not liking you. Now, I have a greater reason to best you. Well, two reasons. The first: peace will finally be achievable through Bruce and Shiva's heir," she said as she took her stance.
Ares chuckled. "All the more reason to kill those two mortals. Truthfully, is it any different from Zeus devouring Metis to prevent her from birthing the son that would dethrone him?"
"It arguably isn't, but that is neither here nor there. I won't let you ruin this wedding. After all, reason number two is: You. Ruined. MY. Wedding. You took away my chance at happiness with a man I loved, and I will make you suffer for that."
"I am mightier now than I was ever before due to the conflict in this church. You cannot hope to best me in this state, little sister."
"We shall see about that, dear brother."
The two gods then charged at each other, Ares summoning a sword that clashed with Wonder Woman's, their clash actually making storm clouds appear.
Star Sapphire grunted after getting hit, the blow sending her spinning toward the sky. She groaned as she shook her head, looking up to see she was about to be eaten by a yellow snake.
She quickly created an apple, the snake's mouth stuck on the constructed fruit before a hawk chomped it in half.
When the constructs vanished, Star Sapphire was able to see her opponent, the Assassin just floating as he stared at her.
"I'm surprised Sinestro gave one of his rings to your boss."
"Never underestimate the Great Ra's Al Ghul, Woman." The Assassin raised his hand, creating a giant shuriken that spun like a saw before it flew at Carol.
Carol created a brick wall before creating a Mustang, the car speeding at the Assassin.
The Assassin created a giant yellow skeleton that easily caught the car and crushed it before it roared at Carol.
"Well, that's creepy. You're pretty scary, even for ninjas. Got a name?"
"I have no need for one. I am merely a blade in service to the Great Demon's Head. However, I may as well give you a name so that you may know who sent you to the afterlife." The Assassin looked at his yellow ring. "For simplicity's sake, you may address me as Kiiro."
"Meaning?"
"It's the Japanese word for Yellow."
"Of course," Star Sapphire sighed. "WHOA," she went after the skeleton tried to grab her. She flew around before she made a construct of a dog, the pooch biting the skeleton's arm off, destroying it.
Star Sapphire looked back to see the Kiiro was gone, only to notice a yellow glow above her.
She looked up and barely had the time to create a shield to block Kiiro's yellow katana, but the Assassin showed his superior strength by sending the beauty crashing to the ground.
Carol groaned as she sat back up, looking up at the Yellow Lantern looking down at her. 'How long has he had that ring,' she thought to herself. 'He's almost as good as Hal.'
Aquaman and Mera were fighting off Assassins side by side. They were fighting like the perfect duo, Mera using both Altantian Water Magic and her martial arts skills with Aquaman using his trident, superstrength, and his own Water powers.
While they were fighting, Aquaman was blasted into another room by a laser, far from his wife.
Ironically enough, Arthur fell into the baptism pool. He immediately jumped to his feet, seeing his assailant walk into the room. "Hello, Your Majesty."
"Black Manta."
"I hope you weren't expecting Ocean Master." Black Manta extended his blade and lunged at Aquaman.
The hero clashed with his foe, trident deflecting and parrying Atlantean steel before the two were pushing the other back.
"What are you even doing here, Manta? You've been pirating throughout the Pacific for months now. Kaldur has been tracking you all this time."
"And I thank you for that father-son bonding you've given us, Arthur." Manta then headbutted Aquaman before kicking him away. "Talia personally scouted me for this. That lady has enough money and enough tech to get us to this little party as fast as Thawne would have. The money was nice, and the Venom was tempting, but neither one is as satisfying as the chance of killing you."
"I'm surprised she didn't go to my brother."
Manta laughed. "You're kidding, right? Orm couldn't even handle Lady Shiva. Talia wants to win, so she went to find the best."
Aquaman spun his trident before taking his stance. "Let's make her regret that decision." The two then charged at each other, their clash pushing away most of the baptism pool's water.
Meanwhile, Flash was punching assassins unconscious. He was about to take out one trying to attack Black Canary from behind when he was punched in the face with enough force to send him flying.
"Hello, Barry."
He looked up. "Thawne."
Flash looked around, seeing the various villains and Assassins fighting his friends. From Oliver shooting down Merlyn's arrows to Bruce fighting a Venomized Oprhan to Lady Shiva avoiding Talia's attacks before landing powerful counterstrikes. That was before Talia's kick sent Shiva crashing through a wall.
"This was you. Talia hired you to collect some of our worst enemies."
"And bring them here to give Lady Shiva and Batman one hell of a surprise wedding gift."
"You ruined one of my best friend's weddings just to get at me? That's low, even for you," Flash said as he stood up.
"Oh, don't worry, Flash. You're involved in this, too."
"What?"
"Don't forget that I'm a living paradox. I have memories of every possible future. And I have to say, I HATE the one this wedding creates!"
"What?"
"The brat growing inside of Shiva. The brat that comes after. They will create one of the greatest histories in all the multiverse. They did what was supposed to be impossible! THEY CREATED PEACE!"
"Heh, proud of them already," Flash said with a smile.
"You would, considering YOU HELPED THEM!"
"What?"
"You helped the bat and the bitch teach those maggots! Along with every other League member! Your children and other children of the League. The history those two will create will make the world remember you as one of the greatest heroes history will ever know! I will be DAMNED before I let that happen! I'm going to kill you, Barry. Once I'm done with you, Shiva's next. Then Iris, Lois, Carol, Mera, and Canary so they don't give birth to their brats and in aiding bat and that bitch's brats"
"Well, aside from telling me Iris and I will have kids. You were better off keeping your mouth shut, Barb. Now I definitely have something worth fighting for now. There is no way I'm going to let you anywhere NEAR mine, Bruce's, or any of our families after this. If we weren't protective of each other before, you can be damn sure we are now."
"Then I'll just have to kill EACH AND EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!"
Flash and Reverse then charged at each other. Despite them being just a few feet apart, their speed made the clash of their fists cause a powerful explosion that sent many Assassins flying, the two running out of the building to have one of their most serious fights yet.
"That had to be Flash," Nightwing said as he was back-to-back with Robin.
"Think we should call Wally?"
"There's a reason most of the Titans couldn't make the wedding, Tim. They're on a mission in Europe. Cyborg doesn't even have an estimate as to when they'll be back. Kori and I are the only Titans that can be here."
"Guess we'll have to be enough."
"But can you be?" Dick and Tim looked toward the voice.
"Slade. Why am I not surprised," Nightwing asked before the assassin landed in front of them.
"Batman, Shiva, and Nightwing. It feels more like my birthday instead of a wedding. It's a shame that fool, Cain has the Bat, and Talia has her own grudge against Shiva, but you and I have far too much-unfinished business, to begin with."
"Yeah, we do," Nightwing said as he walked toward Deathstroke.
"Nightwing-"
"Keep out of this, Robin. If I lose, you'll need to pick up my slack. . . Take care of my family if it comes to that."
"Nightwing... I won't need to. You're going to win anyway," Robin said as he ran toward the fray.
"Hm, your 'brother' has quite a lot of confidence in you, Grayson."
"We're family, Slade. We trust each other," Dick said as he readied himself to fight his arch-enemy.
"The last time we fought, you had me thrown into Bludhaven's Penitentiary. Bad enough to suffer that kind of humiliation, but that evened our combat ratio. I do not like ties, boy."
"Then let's change it with another win for me."
"Heh. Brat," Slade said as he drew his sword. The two then charged at each other, the Escrima Stick clashing with a blade.
Starfire had just bolted an Assassin while Mar'i threw one into another when they heard the clash, looking toward it.
"MY LOVE!"
"FATHER!"
Both were about to fly toward Dick when they were blasted from behind. They looked to see who it was, their eyes widening in shock.
"Aw, what's wrong, you two? Is that any way to greet family," a sexy voice went in a dark tone as she flew toward them.
"Sister," Kori went as she glared at Blackfire.
"Aunt Komand'r," Mar'i went in a sad tone.
Starfire didn't hesitate to throw star bolts at her sister, who nonchalantly dodged them with a smile on her face before shooting her eye beams at her little sister. Starfire retaliated with her own beams before the two charged at each other, grappling the other, Blackfire with a feral smirk while Starfire glared at her.
"Why are you here, sister?! You were banished to the furthest reaches of the galaxy for your treasonous actions. In fact, I should have personally sent you to the Phantom Zone when you ATTACKED MY DAUGHTER!"
"Come on, sis! Can't an aunt have some quality time with her beautiful niece?!" Blackfire then kneed Starfire in the stomach with enough force to wind her before hammer striking to the ground.
Mar'i was able to catch her mother before she slammed into the ground.
"Nice catch, sweetie."
Mar'i looked up at her aunt.
"Come give your aunt a hug," she said with an evil smirk as she held out her arms.
Mar'i gently placed her mother on the ground before flying up to her aunt's level. "Aunt Komand'r, you don't need to do this."
"And why not, sweetie?"
"Because you're not as evil as you say you are!" Blackfire's smile went away. "You tried to kidnap me, yes, but in that short time, you taught me Tamaranian history that even my mother didn't know. You showed me our people's fighting styles, how to properly use our weapons, various ways to use our powers-"
"You don't get it, do you, niece?"
"Eh?"
"I was training you. Making you into a weapon to turn against your mother and that fool sitting on MY throne!"
"Uncle Galfore? He's a great man! I would never attack him!"
"That's why you failed, Bumgorf," Blackfire said as she cracked her knuckles. "How much did you learn after all these years? Are you a true Tamaranean, or did your parents make you into a worthless Troq?"
Nightstar's eyes widened, tearing up a bit before she shook her head and took her fighting stance.
"Good. You still remember my teachings. Let's see how far you've come, my little BUMGORF!"
Nightstar gave a battle cry as she flew at her aunt, their fists clashing with enough force to shake the building, damaging it severely.
Tigress took out one of the Assassins with a fatal pressure strike. She's not a hero, nor is she one of Batman's protegees, so she has no qualms about killing. Even if her mistress is getting married to Batman, that doesn't change the fact that she's still a member of the League of Shadows, as well as one of its most respected Lieutenants and Acting Commanders.
Tigress then heard a nearby fight and looked in time to see Talia send Shiva flying through a wall. "LADY SHIVA," she cried out as she tried to chase after her mistress.
Tigress then sensed danger and jumped back to avoid getting struck by kunai. She picked one up and saw it drip a purple liquid. "Jellyfish toxins. Hello, sister," Tigress said as she stood up, holding the kunai properly as Cheshire landed in front of her.
"Not excited to see your big sister?"
"About as excited as I would be to see our father."
"Aw, what a chilly reception. Not much of a family reunion, Artemis," she said as the two began to pace around.
"My family is with the League of Shadows and Lady Shiva."
"And your dear Lady Shiva is getting married to Batman. You sure that won't change her?"
"Possibly, but that doesn't matter. It won't change my loyalty to her or our League."
"Are you still holding a grudge?"
"Ra's ordered us to assassinate our own mother. It would have been easier to try and assassinate Sportsmaster."
"Are you sure about that, sis? You seem to hesitate when it comes to killing family. I'm sure you would have rejected the thought of killing Lawrence."
"Lawrence is a jackass. . ." Artemis sighed. "But he's still our dad. Lady Shiva wouldn't order us to kill family like Ra's did."
"And you know this how?"
"Because after you put Huntress in a wheelchair, Lady Shiva has been using her influence to take care of her. Our mother is now one of Wu-San Pharmaceutical's greatest physicians and scientists. We don't have to do this, Jade." Artemis took off her mask to look her sister in the eyes, despite Cheshire still wearing her mask. "You don't need to remain loyal to Ra's. You can come with us."
Artemis held out her hand. "Please. I don't want to fight my sister."
Cheshire looked at her sister's hand, getting out of her stance, giving hope to Artemis. Artemis actually smiled when Jade took off and threw away her mask.
Jade then sighed. "Oh, Artemis. You sweet summer child. It's not as easy as you make it out to be."
Artemis's eyes widened. "What?"
"Talia is only showing you the opening act. She's bound to be reprimanded for this. Still, that doesn't change the fact that this... is NOTHING compared to what Ra's Al Ghul has in store using the Lazarus-Venom. It's only going to get much worse. Shiva IS going to die, and I'm not about to join the losing side. I know for a fact I can't talk you out of this stupidity, so I won't," Jade said as she took out her sword. "Just know I take no joy in doing this. If you were our father, absolutely. I hated attacking our mother, and fighting you is even worse. . . but I have my loyalties, just as you have yours, little sister."
Artemis began to tear up before she wiped them off her eyes, drawing her own sword and taking her stance. "I love you, Jade."
"I love you, too, Artemis."
The two then charged at each other, their swords clashing, beginning the fight between sisters.
Hal was on the ground, clenching himself as he panted heavily. He kept seeing his wife getting killed over and over again for a while. Then, the corpses kept attacking him. Carol slapped him, punched him, choked him, and even bit him. The entire time, she was blaming him for her death.
"I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME!"
"WHY DIDN'T YOU SAVE ME?!"
"YOU JUST STOOD THERE AND LET ME DIE!"
"WHY DIDN'T YOU SAVE ME HAL?!"
"Do you... enjoy seeing me die?"
"No. No, I swear, Carol. I love you. I wanted to save you. I do. Why do I keep hurting you?"
As he was on the ground, an Assassin walked up to him, looking down at the poisoned Hal. The Assassin raised his foot, preparing to crush Hal's head into paste.
Then, the Assassin was shot. He was shot several more times, being pushed back. When he looked up, he received a strike to the head by the butt of a gun, the bottom covered in electrified spikes that knocked the Assassin out, the man falling to his back with a heavy thud.
Red Hood looked down at the Venomed Assassin, looking less than impressed. "That the best you can do with your Venom? Pathetic." Red Hood looked down at the canister on his belt. "Looks like I won't need mine after all."
Red Hood then walked over to Hal, knelt down, and roughly lifted him up. He then slapped Hal, the man now looking at Jason with shocked but frightened eyes. "What. The hell. Are you. Doing," Jason asked. "Bruce's intel says that you're considered the greatest Green Lantern ever. That you powered through some of the worst situations imaginable. Yet you're letting yourself lose to a bit of dust?"
"But... Carol... She's dead."
"Really? Because from where I'm standing, it looks like she's fighting her ass off," Jason said as he looked up.
Hal also looked up. He was still being affected by the Fear Toxin, but he was able to see a violet bird fight against a yellow dragon. Then, his eyes adjusted for just a moment, Hal seeing what he needed to see. "Carol."
"Batman was once injected with enough Fear Toxin to drive ten men insane. Are you saying that the great Green Lantern can't handle a little dust bunny's worth of the stuff? Pathetic."
Hal's eyes hardened as he clenched his fist. "Yeah, you're right. That is pretty pathetic." Hal then held out his hand, his ring flying back onto his finger, his uniform appearing as he and Red Hood stood back up. "You're one hell of a motivator, kid. Might be even tougher than your old man."
"Heh, no one's tougher than him. I've got enough bruises from just our sparring matches to prove that, let alone that time we were enemies. I got the antidote for Scarecrow's toxin, but doesn't look like you need it."
"No. I don't."
"Then go save your wife, jackass. I ain't gonna do it."
"Not your job, kid. It's mine. She's my wife, after all." Green Lantern then flew off.
Red Hood chuckled. "Nice exit. Now then, which one of you jackasses wanna join your friend for naptime," Jason asked as he turned around to see a squad of Venom Assassins walking toward him.
Jason switched out the cartridges in his guns before taking his stance. "Bring it."
Superman yelled out in pain after Metallo punched him, the Man of Steel slamming into a wall, coughing up blood.
"You have no idea how satisfying this is, Boyscout." Metallo grabbed Superman by his throat, lifting him up, the Kryptonite on his hands poisoning Superman even more. "Almost every time we fought, you kicked my ass. A Kryptonite heart is useful, but Kryptonite knuckles? Kryptonite palms? These freakin' upgrades make beating the crap out of you easy as snapping a cop's neck," he said before punching Superman through the same wall.
"I should have joined Ra's years ago," Metallo chuckled as he walked through the hole to get to the bloody Superman. He then kicked him in the face, making Superman land on his back, before stepping on his neck.
Superman's eyes then popped open before laser beaming the villain's face, Metallo yelling in pain and surprise as he stepped back, holding his smoking face. When the smoke cleared, Metallo looked to see Superman about to swing a beam at him, which landed point blank. It had enough force to send Metallo crashing through another wall.
"Note to self: get Kryptonite-laced feet next."
Metallo got out of the hole, shaking his head to clear it of the rubble, only to look up and get a face full of pillars.
Superman was using one of the beams of the building as a weapon, trying to keep his distance from Metallo. Unfortunately, the beam was made of wood, and Metallo wasn't an idiot.
Metallo punched the beam into splinters before lunging at Superman, ready to punch the hero into the ground.
However, Superman zipped out of the way of the villain's punch before shooting him with his lasers, making Metallo skid back.
Metallo retaliated by blasting a chest beam at Superman, the laser hitting the hero point-blank and crashing him through a wall. There was enough force to have him slam into Talia before he flew into another room.
"Hm, that was helpful," Shiva said as she put her hands behind her back, looking down at the dazed Talia as she sat up and shook her head.
"Well, if it isn't the blushing bride." Shiva looked toward Metallo. "The old man put one hell of a bounty on you. Though, for me, he promised me some more Kryptonite he had stashed, plus the upgrades to my body to handle it all. Killing Superman will be as easy as breaking your pretty little neck."
Shiva just turned toward him and used the classic "Bring it on" hand gesture.
"Oh, cheeky."
"Don't you dare! She's mine," Talia yelled as she got up.
"Sorry, sweetie. First come, FIRST PAY," Metallo roared as he lunged at Shiva, throwing a punch that would have killed her.
However, time seemed to slow down. As Metallo's fist rushed at Shiva, her hand redirected his punch. She then positioned herself for a shoulder throw. Then, with perfect ease, precision, and skill, she threw Metallo away from her, the villain slamming into a wall.
Metallo's eyes were wide. "W-WHAT THE FUCK?!"
"A wild bull has more coordination than you," Shiva said with her hands behind her back.
Metallo snarled as he ripped himself out of the wall. "Oh, now you're gonna die, gorgeous."
Shiva held up a finger and pointed to her left.
"Huh?" Metallo looked. "Oh, fu-" He was slammed into by a car.
"Isn't that Bruce's," Shiva asked.
"He can send me the repair bills," Superman said as he yanked the car out, seeing the massive hole he sent Metallo through, before flying into it to continue his fight.
"Right then." Shiva turned toward Talia. "Where were we?"
Talia growled before she jumped into the air, preparing her fist for a ground pound. Shiva side-stepped out of the way of the earth-shaking punch and used her fingers, specifically her long and sharpened nails, to slash Talia's exposed eye.
Talia yelled out in pain before trying to swat Shiva away, who was able to backflip away from the swing.
When Shiva landed, she was surprised when Talia grabbed her by the throat, easily lifting her. Talia then reeled back her fist, aiming at Shiva's stomach. "I will make sure this abomination never sees the light of day," Talia said in a deep and dark, growling voice.
Shiva's eyes widened in fear, knowing full well her child wouldn't be able to survive that punch. Shiva would absolutely miscarry her child.
Talia's eyes widened when she felt someone land on her shoulders. She then felt intense pain after her assailant began to slam their elbows on the top of her head in a vicious barrage before getting kicked in the face. When she stumbled back, holding her now bloody nose, she looked up with a glare and a growl.
Shiva coughed violently before rubbing her neck, feeling better. "Well timed, Onyx."
"I'm only sorry I wasn't here sooner, Grand Master."
"You arrived soon enough," Shiva said with a smile before looking at Talia. "You do realize you could have ended this whole ordeal by breaking my neck, don't you?"
"I wanted to make you suffer like you made me. I won't make that mistake a second time."
"Marrying the man you BELIEVED you loved was making you suffer," Shiva asked with a raised eyebrow. "Be honest, Talia, you only want Bruce because of how powerful he is. He is practically the perfect man, after all," Shiva said with a shrug.
"SILENCE," Talia roared.
"Try and make me," Shiva said as she and Onyx took their stances. "I won't make the same mistake twice, either."
Talia roared as she charged at Shiva and Onyx, the two Shadows charging at the Demon Head's Venom-Infused daughter.
Star Sapphire was flying around, avoiding being eaten by the eight-headed snake Kiiro created. She tried shooting one of the heads, only to barely avoid being eaten by another.
After she flew into the air, she looked down to see the construct was gone. She looked around, trying to find Kiiro, only to be shot from behind.
Kiiro had created a cannon, hitting his foe point-blank, the beauty slamming onto a roof. She groaned before opening her eyes to see Kiiro float down toward her. "You were an interesting opponent. Not what I expected, but enough to allow me to master my new power." Kiiro then created a katana, the blade hovering above the downed Carol. "I shall thank you by giving you a quick death."
Kiiro then yelled out in surprise pain after a jet slammed into him, the Assassin looked in time to see it was green in color before it slammed him into the ground. Kiiro flew out of the crater, glaring at who attacked him.
"Get the hell away from my wife," Hal growled before creating a boxing glove that flew at Kiiro too quickly for him to react, the punch sending him flying.
Hal then flew over to Carol and gently lifted her. "Carol. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let that damn gas get to me."
Carol chuckled, groaning in pain afterward. "It's alright, Hal. Still, you owe me after this."
Hal chuckled. "Mind if we name it Martin if it's a boy?"
"Only if we get to name it Reese if it's a girl."
"Deal." The two then kissed, Carol glowing before the two floated in mid-air, the two staring into each other's eyes when they parted.
"Really convenient how our rings heal us when charged, huh," Hal asked.
"That it is. Now, can I have my payback against this yellow prick?"
"By all means," Hal said as he and Carol looked toward Kiiro as he flew toward the couple.
He stopped right in front of the pair. "The mighty Green Lantern. The Great One had that powder synthesized especially for you. It seems more research is required."
"You really think I'm going to let you use that on my husband ever again," Carol asked with a glare.
"You have no choice in the matter, Star Sapphire."
"Watch yourself, buddy. What the wife says goes in this marriage."
"That is the right response."
"Except when it comes to choosing what's for dinner."
"Ah! You LOVE my cooking!"
"Except when you make Brussels sprouts and liver."
"Okay, that was one bad meal! ONE!"
Hal and Carol both created a wall to block Kiiro's arrow.
"Seriously, pal? You're supposed to let the heroes have their marital banter. Isn't it entertaining?"
"What I find entertaining is completing my mission and slaying the enemies of the Great One."
"It's two against one, Kiiro. You might wanna fly back to your 'Great One'. Of course, Green Lantern promised me I could beat you up on my own, sooo..." Carol created a hissing and yowling violet cat. "I'm going to turn you into a scratching post now."
"Hm, you overestimate yourself, woman." Kiiro's ring then created a massive construct. One bigger than the skeleton he made before. It was large enough to shadow the Lanterns, both looking up at the demonic construct with wide eyes.
"What... is that," Hal asked.
"Behold, Shuten Dōji, the Oni King."
The construct roared before it swung down its spiked Kanabo, Hal creating a wall to try and block it, only for the brick wall it immediately shatter, the Lanterns flying away just in time.
They looked to see the construct's club slam onto the street, creating an earthquake.
The quake was so powerful, the entire city shook. Barry almost tripped because of it but regained his balance in time to block Bard's punch and counter with his own. Green Arrow was able to shoot his arrow, despite the rumbling terrain, but so was his foe. Plastic Man was shaking like a bobblehead, making Black Canary have to save him from the Assassin about to stab him with a poison-dripping blade. She drop-kicked the blade out of his hand before screaming him into a wall, knocking him out. Red Hood stumbled but was able to roll forward and shoot an Assassin in the face. Nightwing was having trouble with his balance but backflipped in time to avoid Slade's jab with his staff before using his sticks to block the next swing.
Batman seemed unbothered by it, mostly avoiding Orphan's swings before he saw the opening he needed to stun the Assassin with his cape before performing a beatdown that sent Orphan skidding away, his mask falling off, letting Bruce see David's bloody, snarling face. Shiva, Onyx, Tigress, Cheshire, and Talia were all fighting like nothing was going on. Metallo used the rumbling building to jump toward the crumbling ceiling and slam it onto Superman. The man of steel retaliated by bursting out of the rubble and punching Metallo through the hole he made.
"Okay, that was impressive," Hal said.
"You overestimate yourself, Green Lantern." Hal looked toward Kiiro. "Allow me to show you the true might that fear possesses." Kiiro then flew back into his own construct. When he did, the creation seemed more alive than before, the Oni actually roaring with enough force to shatter windows and make the buildings around him begin to crack.
Shuten Dōji then swung his Kanabo, creating more damage, before resting it on his shoulder, ready to continue the fight.
"Alright, then..." Hal then began to concentrate before his eyes shot open. In mere moments, Hal created a battle robot the same size as Shuten Dōji himself, two building-size constructs glaring at each other, with Hal in the cockpit looking at Kiiro in Shuten Dōji's head. "Let's do this."
"AHEM!"
Kiiro looked toward the voice, raising his Kanabo in time to block a missile.
Carol was smirking... as she sat inside a construct of a rocket artillery vehicle. "Don't forget about me, boys."
Diana and Ares clashed, their swords sparking as the beautiful hero looked into the burning eyes of the God of War, the villain smirking evilly down at her.
"This is magnificent, Diana. Every second, the combat below makes me stronger than before. Even the day we met can't compare to this," he said as he began to transform, donning the armor he wore when he and Diana first fought. "If that missile fed me the psychic energy of a thousand wars, then the battle in that church is comparable to TEN thousand! Gods and monsters fought below, and each strike fuels me! You cannot hope to win, Diana!"
"I have beaten you before, Ares, and I will do it AGAIN," Wonder Woman yelled as she kicked Ares away.
Diana gave a battle cry as she jumped toward Ares, sword raised over her head.
The gods then began to duel, clashing once more just as Hal's robot fist clashed with Kiiro's club, the Oni using his other hand to block Carol's missiles.
"Yes! YES! THE BATTLE BETWEEN THOSE THREE ALONE FUELS ME! THE ONLY THING MISSING FROM THIS FEAST IS THE SWEET NECTAR OF A FOE'S SPILLED BLOOD! OF BEAUTIFUL DEATH! OH, HOW UNCLE WOULD AGREE!"
"I'm surprised you do not despise Hades for making you his servant for a decade, Ares!"
"Our uncle had his fun with me until my resurrection, yes, but you are still to blame for my imprisonment, sister! Just as it is thanks to your allies I walk the Earth again! Their never-ending battles revitalized me, hastening the process of rebirth for gods! In a way, I live thanks to you!"
"I will receive no gratitude from you!"
"ACCEPTABLE, FOR I HAVE NONE TO GIVE!" The two continued their duel, their next clash sounding like thunder. More than that, storm clouds formed over them, showing how great the battle between gods, children of Zeus at that, truly was.
Then, Ares grunted in pained surprise. Diana noticed this and kicked Ares away.
When Ares skidded to a halt, he fell to one knee. "What? What is this? Why am I weakening?"
"Is it not obvious, brother?" He looked up at Diana as she looked down coldly at him. "The battle is ending. Our foes are falling."
"WHAT?!"
As Diana said, the Venom Assassins were being bested. What's more, Green Arrow had beaten Meryle. One of Ollie's arrows cut his foe's bowstring. When the villain was caught off guard by this, Green Arrow ran up and socked him in the face. He then used his bow to smack Meryle in the chin, grabbed his head to knee it, then finished his combo with a mean right straight. Meryle landed right on his face. He tried to get up, only to fall back on the ground, unconscious.
Red Hood, Batgirl, and Jim had worked together well enough to take down a squad of Assassins, with Black Canary using her Bird Cry to take out even more.
When Cheshire and Tigress skidded away from each other after their last clash, Cheshire looked around. "Hm, numbers are thinning. That's not good."
"Do you want to retreat, sister? I won't stop you."
Cheshire looked at her little sister before looking down to see she was conveniently close to her mask. She kicked it up and put it on. "Looks like our family reunion will have to be put on hold again." Cheshire then turned, looking ready to leave, but was still for a bit. "Tell the old lady. . . Tell mom it wasn't anything personal. I just made the choice I thought was right."
"She knows Jade. She forgave you a long time ago."
Cheshire sighed. "Of course, she did."
"But she would rather hear that from you. And you know it."
". . . Yeah. Yeah, I know. . . You know, I'm honestly surprised THEY'RE not here."
". . . I'm watching them. Like I knew you would want me, too. Roy isn't a hero anymore, but he's a damn good father. Lian needs her mother, Jade."
"Then be-"
"Don't even think about finishing that. Lady Shiva WILL beat Ra's Al Ghul. When she does, I want you to be the mom Lian deserves."
Cheshire laughed. "IF Lady Shiva can beat Ra's Al Ghul and take down the League of Assassins, I'll make you my Maid-of-Honor and have Lian be the cutest flower girl the world has ever seen."
Artemis smiled. "Deal."
"Never going to happen. Shiva can't handle what The League of Assassins has in store. You can still join me, little sister."
"Don't underestimate us, sis. We'll be a family. A REAL one this time. You, me, Mom, Roy, and Lian. That's a promise. No. A prophecy."
Cheshire giggled. "You sweet summer child." Cheshire then threw down a smoke bomb, the Assassin long gone when the smoke cleared.
Artemis looked around to find her own mask, picking it up before looking up at the hole in the ceiling where she knew Cheshire escaped from. "I'll keep them safe until you come back to us. I promise."
Superman grunted in pain after Metallo punched him into a rental limo. He groaned from the green glow of the Kryptonite, looking in time to see the beam blast onto him, causing the limo to explode.
Superman was now groaning on the ground as Metallo walked up to him through the flames. He then grabbed Superman by what was left of his outfit, lifting him up in the air, the Kryptonite in his hand hurting Superman even more. Metallo then reeled back his arm, pointing his fingers out. They then fused together and formed a glowing Kryptonite-green blade aimed at Clark's heart. "Let's finish this."
SHINK.
"Huh?" Metallo looked to see a Birdarang beeping on his arm.
It exploded with enough force to send Clark flying away from Metallo.
"NO! MY KRYPTONITE," Metallo roared as he looked at his destroyed arm, Kryptonite shards falling out of it.
"Whoops. That looked AND sounded important." Metallo glared at Robin as he walked toward the villain with his staff resting on his shoulder. "Don't worry. Batman has plenty to spare, though I don't think he would give you any."
"I'M GOING TO ROAST YOU ALIVE FOR THAT, BIRD BOY!"
Robin looked down at the bomb-shaped item on his belt before looking at Superman behind the approaching Metallo. 'You got one shot at this, Tim,' he thought to himself as he took his stance. 'If you screw up, you'll be torn apart by one of the few villains in the world who can beat up Superman in a fistfight. No pressure.'
Mar'i grunted as she flew back, panting as blood dripped down her nose.
"Not bad, Bumgorf," Blackfire said, wiping the bruise on her face off. "I taught you well."
"Yes. You did. Which is why I know there's still good in you."
"Tch," Blackfire went with a roll of her eyes. "Still going on with that?"
"YES! You could have killed me when you kidnapped me! You could have tortured me, hurt me, or thrown me into a black hole. Instead, you taught me the ways of Tamaranean combat, our history, and how to wield our weapons. You were my aunt!"
"Didn't I say I was grooming you to be my weapon against your mother? My key back onto my rightful throne?"
"THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST BRAINWASH ME?!" Blackfire twitched. "You could have broken my mind and used technology to turn me into a puppet. Infect me with a Starro parasite. You didn't do anything. You... tried to make me love you more than my own mother."
"That's enough, girl."
"You may not have a great relationship with my mother, but you're still my aunt."
"Enough!"
"No! I know you're still good! You're my aunt! You're family! You're my K'norfka!"
Blackfire basically teleported in front of Mar'i, grabbing her by the throat. "I SAID ENOUGH, YOU LITTLE ZARBNOF!"
Mar'i was choking, feeling the full force of her aunt's power. However, she was able to see her aunt's eyes. More importantly... the tears welling in them. "Aunt... Komand'r."
"Not another-"
"I love you," Mar'i choked out.
Blackfire's eyes widened in rage, her tears flying out of them before they began to glow purple. "YOU LITTLE-" Blackfire roared as she reeled back her fist, making it glow with a star bolt. "DAMN YOU," Blackfire roared as she threw her punch.
It exploded after Starfire caught her fist, shocking Blackfire.
"YOU WILL NOT HARM MY DAUGHTER!" Starfire then landed a vicious gut punch, Blackfire coughing up a small bit of blood before she was sent flying, through the roof into the darkened sky.
Starfire caught her daughter and gently placed her on her feet. "Stay here, my little Bumgorf," Starfire says sweetly before kissing her daughter's forehead. She then stood up, glaring toward the sky, her eyes glowing before she sped toward the sky.
Mar'i looked up in sadness. "Mother. K'norfka." An Assassin silently appeared behind Mar'i, about to grab her. Without even looking at him, Mar'i sent him crashing into a wall with a single punch.
Starfire flew toward the sky, Blackfire falling toward her. The two clashed with a grapple, the force of their collision creating a shockwave that shook many of the buildings around them.
"This is growing tiresome, sister," Starfire said.
"I couldn't agree more," Blackfire said before she tried to blast Starfire with her eyes. Starfire countered with her own eye beams.
"Blackfire, Mar'i seems to have faith in you! There was a time I did as well!"
"You were a fool back then!"
"That may be, but my daughter is no such thing! If she has faith in you, then I only ask you to prove her right!"
"SHUT UP," Blackfire said as she roundhoused Starfire away from her before sending star bolts her way.
Starfire dodged the bolts, blasting some of them away before flying toward her sister and landing a punch to her cheek.
Blackfire retaliated by using the momentum of the punch to land an elbow to the side of Starfire's head before pulling her hands behind her back. "Don't you get it, little sister? I'm only interested in the throne that is rightfully mine! The throne you took from me and gave to that overgrown oaf, Galfore!"
"YOU WERE MAD WITH POWER, SISTER! YOU WERE A CRIMINAL! YOU STILL ARE! YOU WERE NOT FIT TO BE THE GRAND RULER! BUT IF THERE IS ONE THING I HAVE LEARNED FROM MY YEARS OF MARRIAGE TO DICK, TO BEING A MEMBER OF THE FAMILY OF THE BAT, IT'S THAT NO ONE, NOT EVEN YOU, IS EXEMPT FROM REDEMPTION! IF MY DAUGHTER SEES THE GOOD IN YOU, THEN SO SHALL I!"
"MARRIAGE TO A HUMAN HAS MADE YOU INTO A FOOL, SISTER!"
"A FOOL WHO WANTS TO HAVE HER SISTER BACK! YOU MAY HAVE NOT BEEN THE KINDEST ELDER SIBLING, BUT YOU WERE STILL PROTECTIVE OF ME WHEN WE WERE CHILDREN! WHO SAVED ME FROM THE RABBID PORTKIN?!"
"DON'T YOU START!"
"WHO WAS THE ONE WHO TAUGHT ME HOW TO PROPERLY FLY?!"
"ENOUGH!"
"WHO WAS THE ONE WHO THOROUGHLY BEAT THAT ZARBNOF PRINCE WHEN HE CALLED ME A TROQ?!"
Blackfire's eyes widened in rage as they glowed once more. " DAMN YOU," Blackfire roared as she reeled back her head, Starfire doing the same. The two of them headbutted each other, both struggling for supremacy in their vicious battle.
The two kept blasting star bolts and lasers at each other, both landing quite a few hits until they eventually just went into close-quarters combat. At first, it seemed Blackfire had the combat advantage until Starfire used some of the Bat Family's martial arts on her, her palm strike, in particular, sending Blackfire flying back.
Blackfire coughed a bit before spitting out blood, looking at her sister with an intense gaze. "Looks like your human hubby taught you some moves."
Starfire took a martial arts stance. "It was very educational and enjoyable. It is also quite useful against skilled opponents such as you, Blackfire."
"Flattery? Don't think that will save you, little sister," Blackfire said as she took her stance.
Blackfire then looked down when she heard gunshots, seeing Red Hood take out more Assassins. "Looks like I'm on the losing side."
"I never did ask you, sister." Blackfire looked up at Starfire. "Why did you join Talia's attack?"
Blackfire sighed. "Do you honestly think I'm going to pass up on the Lazarus Pit?"
"Yes. Immortality isn't something you're interested in, sister. Power is."
"Mm, you know me so well. Thawne has knowledge of all future events due to being a living paradox. He told me something interesting. He told me the name of Tamaran's greatest Grand Ruler ever."
"Huh?"
"Mar'i Grayson."
Starfire's eyes widened at the revelation her sister bestowed upon her.
