Chapter 4 (Aunt Milky?)

Scene (Gremory Mansion, Underworld)

As Issei watched Rias run off into the hallway and out of his sight, he turned his head back at Venelana with a questioning expression. "Um, Okaasan?"

Looking back at Issei, Venelana smiles warmly. "Yes, sweetheart?"

Showing a sadder expression, Issei asks his question. "Can I see my mom and dad?"

Grayfia, Sirzechs and Venelana all showed individual glances at one another then looked back at the boy. Then, as if they weren't able to make up their mind, all three women began speaking at the same time and then stopped the moment they caught themselves.

"No, no, go ahead, mother." Sirzechs spoke softly.

"I apologize for talking over you." Grayfia politefully bowed her head.

"Oh my, looks like we are all on the same page this morning, fu fu fu." Venelana quietly giggled.

The sounds of footsteps running across the floor took everyone's attention back onto the dining room entranceway.

Rias was running along with another girl while another taller woman was walking behind them.

"Issei! I want you to meet Sona!" Rias was pulling along a girl who looked to be around the same age as her.

She was a bit shorter than Rias while having jet black hair, (which was styled in a bob cut). Wearing a very large pair of pink rimmed glasses, the girl had a pair of purple eyes. Issei thought she looked pretty, just like his new big sister.

Standing at the table, Rias released Sona's hand. The girl had a passive expression however she did give the boy eye contact.

"Gremory Issei, salutations, I am Sona Sitri. It's a pleasure." The woman coldly holds out her hand.

Issei didn't respond as he was processing what this new girl had just told him. Gremory Issei? No, that's not right. Issei knew full well that his last name was Hyoudou. Feeling a little angry at the notion, (not to mention this Sona person seemed to have an unfriendly demeanor), Issei simply ignored her and took a drink from his cup. Rias looked back at both her best friend and then her little brother with a puzzled expression. Sona lowered her arm while staring blankly at this brown haired child.

Sona then looked back at Rias while showing a hint of confusion and possibly agitation. "Well, what did you want to do today?"

Rias ignored her friend and looked back at Issei. "Are you okay, Issei?"

Nodding, the boy looks back at Rias and smiles. "Yup." He then turns his head back at Sona as his smile turns into a frown. "Hyoudou." Issei then takes another sip from his cup.

Raising an eyebrow, Sona looked at both Rias, then Issei once again. "What? Say again?"

Taking a deep breath, Issei replied. "My name isn't Issei Gremory, it's Issei Hyoudou."

The room got quiet suddenly, that was until the older redheaded sister cleared her throat.

"Oh my, our little Issei has some teeth!" Sirzechs exclaimed excitedly.

"Watch out, girls, he's going to be the proud type, for sure." Grayfia nodded.

"Ara ara, calm down now my little Musuko." Venelana sat down beside the boy while placing her arm on his shoulder.

Sona had mixed feelings regarding this new brother or Rias's. Sure, he was a cutey, (she couldn't argue that fact), but there was the fact he had another surname? Sona felt she needed to investigate.

Then suddenly. "Hello and good morning everybody! Everyone's favorite magical girl is here!"

As Issei was now being coddled by Venelana, he heard the voice of something that was extremely and eerily familiar.

Squirming out from the affectionate woman's grasp, Issei's eyes widened suddenly. Standing in the doorway, (while making a cute and familiar pose), there was none other than Milky Chan herself and in the flesh. Wearing her pink magical girl outfit, Issei's idol was casually twirling her heart shaped scepter around her fingers.

Instantly, Venalana, Sirzechs, Grayfia, Rias and Sona watched as Issei darted from the table while making a mad dash toward the seemingly magical girl. The woman with black hair (tied in twin tails), widened her blue eyes the moment she noticed a little boy running up toward her.

Stopping and standing in front of his Idol, many thoughts were running through the boy's head. "All of this feels like a strange dream. But she is here, Milky is here. Maybe she can help me with mommy and daddy? She does things like that in the show all of the time!"

Issei looked up at the happily smiling Milky Chan and spoke nervously. "Milky Chan? Is that really you?"

Rias chuckled quietly as Sona wanted to know what she thought was funny. Sona always felt embarrassed about her older sister's outward behavior.

Sirzechs was now looking at Venelana with a soft smile. The tall and brown haired woman simply nodded as the two had some kind of silent understanding between one another.

Kneeling down a bit, the ever mentioned Milky Chan placed her hand on little Issei's head. "I am the magical girl, Milky Chan! How can I help you, little boy?"

Issei was smiling brightly with a few tears in his eyes. "Wow, you are really here? Milky, I was just about to see your latest movie!"

"Oh yes, I see, I see. I am so glad to have a fan who really is excited about my work!" Milky winked.

"But um." Issei hesitated. "Um, well, I didn't end up watching the movie after all." The boy's smile was beginning to fade.

"Oh, boo, I'm sorry to hear that. Well, it will be showing in theaters for quite a while, I'm pretty sure about that." Milky playfully replied as she shuffled Issei's hair a bit with her hand.

"Um, yeah, I suppose." Issei spoke quieter this time.

Noticing something was off, Milky looked over at Venelana and then at Sirzechs with a questioning glance. Both women returned her look with frowns and silent head shaking. Sona noticed that Rias was also beginning to look a bit depressed.

Turning her attention back onto the boy, Milky placed a very encouraging smile on her face. "What's your name?"

"Issei." The boy blinked a few times.

"That's a good name. Well, my name is Serafall, but you can just keep calling me Milky, I'd prefer it in fact. Say, Issei kun, can I ask why you seem a bit sad? It's not just because you missed out on the opening night of my movie, right?" The now known Serafall waits for a reply while keeping her smile.

"Milky, um, can you?" Issei breaks down and hugs his idol.

Holding the crying boy, Serafall looks back at Sirzechs and Venelana once again. The lady of the house is now standing from the table as Sirzechs reaches for her wrist while shaking her head no.

Rias walks up toward Issei and Serafall as Sona has a very confused yet apathetic expression.

"Auntie, Issei's mom and dad are sleeping." Rias spoke in a matter of fact tone. "But he is my brother now. Also, he missed out on the movie because something made his parents fall asleep." Rias folded her arms and looked down at a crying Issei. "Also, just as I'd expect from my new brother, he is a worthy fan of all that is Milky Spiral. I tested him myself, he noticed this!" Rias points at her overly large Milky Spiral T-shirt that she wears as pajamas.

Serafall giggles a bit but suddenly turns serious afterwards. "Issei, hunny, it's gonna be okay!" She then looks back at Venelana and shrugs suddenly.

Sirzechs spoke quietly as Grayfia reached for her hand in support. "His parents shielded him from debris during a skirmish with an unknown faction of fallen angels and stray priests. They are both in a comatose state at our family clinic."

Serafall's large and blue eyes begin to water up as she looks back down. As her scepter drops to the floor, the magical girl pulls the crying Issei into a tight hug.

"This just happened?" Serafall asks quietly.

Grayfia spoke up with time. "Serafall sama, the incident took place last evening. To make matters even worse, one of those fallen angels was keen on killing the boy. However my wife and I stepped in before more could happen."

"She still managed to get her disgusting hands on him!" Sirzechs spoke angrily as she pushed a strand of her hair from her piercing blue eyes.

Issei pulled away and looked back up at Serafall while smiling very sadly. "Can you please help my parents? Can you use you magical girl powers to, to.." The boy was trying to hold back from breaking down once again, (though it was going to happen again, regardless). "Can you wake them?"

Serafall was now the one crying as she simply pulled Issei back into her. "Shhhh, it's going to be okay."

Rias was also crying. Seeing this, Sona walked toward her best friend and hugged her.

Looking back up and toward Sirzechs, Serafall uses a shrug as a silent question, one which any normal person might pick up on. Essentially the question was obvious. Will the kids' parents wake up?

With a sad frown, Sirzechs shrugs her shoulders as a reply, while she really didn't know, nor did the doctors.

Again, Serafall looked back down at the boy. "It's going to be alright, there there, Auntie Milky is here for you."

After some time went by, everyone eventually sat at the large dining table. Fresh coffee and tea was prepared as well as snack foods. Serafall and Venelana were sitting on either side of young Issei as he was munching away on a cracker. Sona and Rias were sitting across while watching Issei silently. Both girls were showing smiles yet there was sympathy behind those pairs of blue and purple eyes.

Sirzechs stood up suddenly while looking at a wrist watch. "Well, the work isn't going to do itself. Ugh, Grayfia, can't we just hire somebody to do this?" Sirzechs complained as Grayfia stood from the table.

"Sirzechs sama, most of the paperwork that you are seemingly referring to, all of it requires your signatures and initials. We cannot hire somebody to forge your handwriting. We've discussed this before. Now, come along, dearest." Grayfia instantly took hold of her wife's ear and pulled her along.

"Ouch! Ouch! Stop that! Ima Mao, you know?!" Sirzechs protested.

Before the odd couple left the room completely, they both looked over toward Issei, (who smiled back at them warmly).

Shortly after, Sirzechs looks back at Rias and quietly speaks. "Be a good onee-san, sister of mine." The older redhead then winks.

Rias nods very seriously as Sona watches inquisitively.

After Grayfia and Sirzechs leave the room, Venelana claps her hands together in a playful manner. "Well then, Rias and Sona chan, how about the two of you show our Issei here the backyard and play for a bit?"

Rias brightens up as Sona's expression turns somewhat stoic. Issei looks toward the window and at the purple sky puzzlingly. Before he can ask his question, Rias takes hold of his arm and pulls him gently.

"Come on, it's a nice day outside!" Rias exclaimed.

Serafall giggled. "Hehehe, well, maybe I'll join the three of you a bit later." She then looks back at Venelana. "I suppose your mother and I've gotta talk about some stuff, Rias and Issei."

Before he could utter a word, Issei was continuously being pulled along by an excited Rias as Sona gloomily followed behind.

Scene (Gremory Estate South Gardens)

Issei walked out through a pair of twin doors along with Rias and Sona. Issei found the "backyard" very large and full of painstakingly manicured plants, bushes, flowers, trees and shrubs. What got the boy's attention the most was a large and very well made tree house in the distance. It was easily the size of his own bedroom, back in Kuoh. Not feeling too surprised considering his company, the treehouse was painted a hot pink color along with navy blue trim that ended in ribbon designs. Issei thought it looked like a doll house suspended in a tree, (though this happened to be a very large and pink cherry blossom tree).

Rias was watching Issei's reaction to everything and noticed what he was staring at. "Hey, Sona chan, I think Issei here likes the tree fort we built last year!"

Sona nods seriously. "It was indeed a monumental achievement."

Issei glances back at both girls with amazement. "Really, you both made that? Wow!"

Sona blushes slightly but keeps her composure. "I handled the logistics and physics."

Rias proudly speaks up. "I designed the fort! I wanted to make sure it looked intimidating and impenetrable!"

Issei glances back at Rias while tilting his head. "Intimidating?" Issei looks back over at the "doll house" looking structure. "It looks more like something from Milky's show. It's cute."

Sona slightly smirked. "Cute, heh."

Rias puffed her cheeks out in a cute-angry fashion. "No no no! That's not right, brother, you're supposed to say it's "scary or cool" looking!"

Issei nods while looking back toward Rias. "I won't argue that it's not cool, because it is cool. But I don't think it's scary looking." Issei then glanced at the purple sky above them. "But that is kind of scary, not gonna lie." Issei then points up.

Rias's eyes widen while feeling as though he is going to start asking questions.

Sona adjusts her glasses and tilts her head in confusion. "What are you talking about, "Hyoudou", the sky looks completely normal this time of year. Seriously, you're acting like a human or something." Sona then giggles a bit.

Issei puts his arm back to his side as his expression shows a hint of worry. Rias feels very stupid for not talking to her friend ahead of time regarding Issei's predicament.

"What do you mean? The sky is most definitely not purple, not any time of the year! And what's this stuff about human's?" Issei now turned his attention back onto Rias with a small scowl.

Sona was trying to do the math, (trying to fit the pieces together with the limited information she has been provided with). "Wait, wait, hold on. Your parent's are in the Gremory clinic and you…" Sona removes her glasses and stares Issei up and down. "You're indeed a human."

Issei begins to grind his teeth as memories of that fallen angel begin to manifest. The words, "human mut" continued to play over and over in his thoughts.

Sona placed an index finger to her lips while showing an enlightened expression. "Issei."

Turning his attention back from Rias to now Sona once more, Issei all but nodded in response.

"Do you know where you are? Do you know what we are?" Sona spoke matter of factly.

Rias finally said something abruptly. "Sona, SHUT UP!" The redhead then grabbed hold of Issei's arm. "Issei, it's okay. Big sis will explain everything."
