If you've made it to this chapter, then you're as ready to get started as I am. But before we do, we need to discuss the team we're working with here. We're really picking up anywhere between Seasons 3 and 5, so the team will be Hondo, Street, Chris, Luca, Deacon, and Tan, all backed up by Hicks in the control room. Now with that out of the way, let's get into this!
Dragon of Mystery Presents:
A Story of Crime and Corruption Exposed
Starring Spyro, Cynder, and the LAPD SWAT Team
City of Angels and Demons
(Enjoy the show...)
(The story opens up on a dark room, where the sound of people in tears can be heard, only they're trying to stifle them, as if something or someone will hear them if they make too much noise. But just as things get quiet, a door is ripped open, revealing someone in a suit with their face obscured by shadows. And now we realize exactly what's going on here: These people trying to keep from crying are in cages and now the person in the suit is revealed to have lackeys. They point out one of the cages, and despite the protests of the person within, a young woman, the cage is moved out of the room. And as the protests of the chosen prisoner become louder, the door is shut Saw style. But as that grim scene is made known, we transition to the headquarters of LAPD's SWAT Team, where their lead officer, Hondo, is gathering the team for a meeting)
Hondo: Alright everyone, I've just received word from Hicks that we're the team that's participating in the annual officer exchange with Avalar this year.
Chris: Well, this ought to be interesting.
Luka: Sure, if you don't mind screwing up the dynamics of a finely oiled team.
Tan: You think that every time a new officer joins the team.
Hondo: No need to worry about anything getting screwed up. We're just receiving them. The two officers they're getting left yesterday.
Deacon: That's... odd. Wouldn't you usually keep a team whole when they do this?
(At this point, Hicks enters the room, catching everyone slightly off guard, but since they're a SWAT team nobody flinches)
Hicks: Usually yes, but these two personally requested to be on Hondo's team. And given the duo you're getting, that was always going to happen.
Street: So, who're we getting?
Hicks: A pair of legends. (Gestures to the doorway) Everybody, meet your new recruits. The legends themselves, Spyro and Cynder.
(And just like that, a pair of dragons walk in, one violet and one ebony, but both very familiar.)
Hicks: These two will be with your team for the next two weeks.
Spyro: A pleasure to meet you Sergeant Harrelson.
Hondo: Please, just call me Hondo.
Hicks: Well, I'll leave you all to get acquainted.
(With that, Hicks is off and Hondo takes charge)
Hondo: Well, here's the rest of the team. This is Street, Chris, Deacon, Luka, and Tan. We'll be your comrades for the next two weeks.
Cynder: It's an absolute pleasure to meet all of you.
Tan: Hey, the feeling's mutual. Considering the feats you've pulled off.
Hondo: Which got me thinking, why did you personally request to be put on this team.
Spyro: We've heard great things about this unit. And if we're going to be the exchange subjects this year, why not try to train with the best?
Hondo: Well, that's kind of you.
Cynder: There is a little more to it, but we've got two weeks to get to them.
Luka: A little mysterious, don't you think?
Cynder: Yeah, I get that way sometimes.
Hondo: Regardless, it's going to be good having you here for the next few days. (Shakes both of their hands) Welcome to the team.
(As the new teammates get to know each other, our scene ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to wrap up our debut chapter. So, something dark is going on in the City of Angels. Will SWAT be able to stop it? With the help of two dragons, it shouldn't be that tough. But that just begs the question, what exactly is going on here? Tune in next time to start finding out! Same time... same channel!
