The following morning, everyone had gathered at the hall for an urgent meeting that Batman had called in.
"What is this urgent meeting about?" asked Green Lantern as they all sat around the table.
"Just an hour ago, the U.N. was taken hostage by The Liberation from Capes and all of the world leaders were there for a major signing," said Batman.
"Why would they go after them?" asked Black Canary.
"Today the U.N. was to sign a global bill to allow the new league power to operate in every country, that way we wouldn't have to worry about working across borders or anything like that," said Supergirl.
"Makes sense that the group that's against heroes would not want them operating globally," said Firestorm.
"Since we know where they are, why don't we go right in?" asked Blue Beetle.
"Firstly we have to worry about the hostages who are being held in the main room of the building," said Batman as he pulled up a video feed that the enemy was sending out across the internet.
"And secondly, our enemies have access to all kinds of Lexcorp weapons," said Catwoman as she entered with Question.
"How is that possible?" asked Cyborg.
"All of the people who know about Luthor's weapon stashes are dead so who would have been able to get access to them?" asked Red Hood.
"Every person in this reality you mean," said Question before sliding a folder across the table.
"Alex Luthor, who is he and what does he have to do with any of this?" asked Supergirl while looking at the young man's picture on the cover.
"I was finally able to find video of him accessing one of the weapon stashes where he then gave them out to members of the Liberation group," said Question.
"And I was able to find video from the Star City docks that show him giving even more weapons over to members of the group again last night," said Batman as the video played on the computer behind his head.
"Still, this doesn't make sense," said The Flash.
"Alex is supposed to be with the Moderater, why would he be giving terrorists weapons?" he asked.
"I don't know, but we have to go and stop them," said Batman before standing.
