[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]
Knight Captain Belius was flabbergasted.
He was wondering where the group of knights had gotten, and their whereabouts.
They couldn't have lost the two girls, right?!
And soon enough, several people had returned. One of which he didn't expect, the man who carried 4 knights on his shoulders and, well, dropped them nonchalantly.
"Who in the name of the Six Gods is that man?" He asked, sneering towards Ragna.
"Oh, me? Just a wandering merchant seeking for the commander of the knights to talk!"
The Administration replied, casually marching towards Belius and glancing at him with a brighter sneer.
He knew there were villagers who were perplexed at seeing this strange man in strange clothing, but...
"Tsk! Kill him!"
The knights who were near Ragna immediately tried to charge towards him, only for them to stop.
" [NPC Remocon (Remote Control) - Activate] "
With a mere gesture and some willpower, the knights who originally wanted to attack him suddenly ran towards Belius and surrounded him.
Seeing this, the captain of these knights, suddenly was restrained by his own men.
"What is the meaning of this?! Let me go, you fools!" Belius yelled out, trying to struggle.
Yet his men were actually stronger than him, and the villagers were all observing this event began to chatter within themselves, wondering what was going to happen soon.
"Hmph. Mere weaklings." Ragna stated, dropping his facade immediately the moment he is close enough. "Enri, you may tend to the villagers, I'll handle all this."
Silently, Enri moved towards the villagers to untie them from their bindings and due to this, Ragna stared down at Belius who began to feel smaller towards the man who suddenly took control over the knights.
"This is your Captain? Golly, that armor looks expensive, sadly it won't protect you for longer..."
The tone of Ragna's voice was completely out of mockery, which made Belius almost want to spout bloody murder while fear began to fill his very being.
"W-Wait! Sorcerer, make these knights let me go, and I... I will pay you anything you want!"
Only the clicking of his mouth was heard, and once he shook his head, he glanced towards the knights.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. I don't want to dirty my hands on filth like you, strangely enough this line feels edgy... heh, whatever. Shout out your heart, let your rage out and betray this filth!"
Once the command had been given, the knights immediately began to be enraged to the point of brutally beating up Belius, and only a few had began watching.
"Ow! Stop! Stop, please! Urk! No!!!! Nooooooo!!!!"
Ragna turned his back towards the knights, not intending to spare one of them because soon enough, once Belius was dead, the knights eventually fought against each other like berserkers drowned in rage.
All of this, just for a mere experiment.
"Music to my ears..."
Ragna let the knights fight against each other, before he walked towards the villagers calmly.
"You're all safe now, thankfully. Now, may we exchange greetings and get to know each other? I seem to be lost in this foreign land."
[ ~ Line • Break ~ ]
The Knight Captain, Gazef Stronoff, hasn't been in a good mood for a short while. No, he has been in a very, very bad mood for a long while.
Villages were being destroyed, the people of Re-Estize are being slaughtered, and he knew he was sent to be killed off by the Nobility Faction of his Kingdom.
He knew this was a trap, and even the knights loyal to him were even worried about him. But he didn't care, if it is for the people and his friend, King Ramposa then he needs to take care of the threat as soon as possible.
He couldn't let any more people die.
And then he arrived on a village that had several corpses of knights from Baharuth Empire, and 4 unconscious bodies which had already been damaged.
There were also a few villagers that were present, though right now they were burying bodies of their fellow.
Acting swiftly, Gazef pointed at the tied up knights.
"Search for anything they have, I think they aren't truly from Baharuth. Then, interrogate them once they are awake." He commanded, and several of his soldiers approached and investigated the enemy knights.
Due to his concern to this village, he wanted to search around it for survivors, starting with the house where the most chattering was heard.
He knocked on the door thrice before entering the house.
"So the first kingdom I'll be travelling should possibly be at Re-Estize Kingdom or Baharuth Empire, which will I pick, though?"
"I suggest marching to Baharuth first, dear merchant, Re-Estize is a dangerous place to make merchandise."
There was the village chief, engaging with light chatter with Ragna, who to Gazef was a strange person not seen in any village and town and even in the Kingdom.
But because he was talking to the chief in a friendly manner, then Gazef knew Ragna was sociable enough, and quite possibly the one who defeated and killed the knights attacking the villages.
"Oh, here's our visitor. Good afternoon, dear Sir Knight."
Ragna began to speak in a casual manner, as if greeting a friend, which didn't surprise Gazef much as he was used to being around nobility.
And Gazef even realized that he was someone of an incredibly high rank, maybe a Duke due to his clothing that was far more expensive than it looked.
Immediately, he bowed his head in respect, due to the suspicion that he might be a son of a Blue Blood of Re-Estize.
"Hm? What are you doing, Sir Knight? Raise your head, you embarrass yourself."
Silently, Gazef returned to his natural posture, and they began to engage in little chatter, allowing for Ragna to gain some interest in going to Re-Estize "to do business".
By that he meant also exploring the kingdom for a long while, preferably 4 months just to establish solid, high quality merchandise that will definitely attract some attention.
Then he would leave.
... It was still pretty possible. The "Wandering Merchant" thing feels pretty boring, so there is an idea deep inside him that would feel much better than being a merchant...
... Wonder what could that be...
But, he was still wondering where he really should go first, so later he planned to decide it on a coin flip.
Anyway, while he and Gazef exchanged some information about themselves, nothing important with that, Ragna was offered a reward from Gazef, though declined it, saying he has enough wealth.
By "enough wealth" he meant literal infinite amount of money, and Data Crystals, items, artifacts, and even World Items (he literally has all of them, not surprising as he was the GM with the most knowledge of how to use his abilities to their full extent).
And then, he went silent. For a reason that will be revealed... later.
"Sir Gazef, it is a nice afternoon to be with you, but I must take my temporary leave. The call of nature is here." Ragna spoke as he stood up to glance at a certain direction outside the village.
"I understand, Sir Ragna. I'll be waiting for your return." Gazef nodded in response, and once the Administrator left, Gazef immediately began doing what he needed to do.
Simply gather information from the knights, who truly weren't from the Baharuth Empire. A question remained inside the head of Gazef, however.
'... Why does the Theocracy want Baharuth and Re-Estixe to go to war? Aren't they supposed to be the ones protecting humanity?'
Gazef also saw Ragna walk casually towards the deeper part of the forest, though his figure was beginning to vanish due to his distance.
He glanced behind him, and saw his men set up camp nearby the village, before noticing something off that was in the direction of Ragna.
There was... a monster, no, a few of them flying above, towards Ragna's direction.
"Is he in danger? If so, he needs my help!" Gazef asked to himself, before going out for a quick sprint towarda Ragna's location.
Meanwhile...
"Why are YGGDRASIL's angels here? And they're all pretty weak Tier 4 mobs, even so, it arouses curiosity... Strange..." Ragna spoke as he momentarily glanced at his minimap.
Once he exited a part of the forest, he was greeted with several spears piercing his body.
Or, trying to even pierce his incredibly sturdy body, only to be revealed that it was very ineffective.
"Yeah, these guys are definitely low tier mobs." He spoke, showing his curiosity and even some pity towards the ones who summoned these angels.
And then, a furious voice reached his ears.
"That man isn't Gazef!! Who the fuck is he?!"
