Monday October 5th at the hospital after a weekend of strange electronic malfunctions
"well at least figured out one of the problems, I'm sorry we're causing so much trouble Auntie Becca" says Selena
"luckily this isn't all your girls fault, there have been solar flare related issues all across America" says Rebecca
"Cally was thrown five feet at Gateway on Wednesday evening aunt Becca, that's definitely not caused by solar flares, that's something I'm intimately interested in so I'd know, it looked like an explosion except no explosion was heard and Cally doesn't remember even approaching the computers, the thing about Cally is she doesn't trust technology, it stems from a scammer who managed to get a few thousand dollars from our adoptive parents, she blames it on the technology not the scammer and she's hard headed, you can't convince her that the cell phone wasn't the reason why our adoptive parents got scammed" says Selena
"has she ever approached the computers before" asks Rebecca waiting for all the evidence before telling Selena the truth
"no, well maybe when we first arrived at Gateway but she will literally avoid them, you see how she reacts when the vitals monitor blips, she growls at it" says Selena
"I'll admit I've met friendlier patients, there's a history between the Vega family and the Valentine's though, back in Europe a century or so ago a Vega killed a Valentine simply for their daughters being friends, our families have been rivals ever since, our family back in Europe still doesn't get along and people in both families believe that our ancestors still fight, even in heaven, there's a belief that they visit us and try and influence our world to try and keep the feud going, now I'm not saying it's all real but if it is, a romantic situation involving not one but two members of each family, that would definitely set them off and could definitely explain Cally getting thrown by an invisible force the moment Tori and Cat kissed" says Rebecca
"would it explain why Cally can't remember the event, she doesn't believe it actually happened" asks Selena
" If it's all real yes, it would be them messing with her memory of their interference, likely because either she saw them, which could mean she can see the dead or its them intentionally putting a wedge between the two families once again" says Rebecca
"Tori said your feud with her dad was because you told him our issues could be cured, the big issue we have right now is if someone moans, even in a non sexual manner, Cally and I drop to the ground and start playing with ourselves, it doesn't matter where it happens, in public or in private, any videos or movies have to be pre screened before we can watch them, that's not living, that's being at the complete mercy of your brain and its very embarrassing" says Selena
"that's what I thought might show up later in life, both you and Cally were the smaller twins during both pregnancies, I knew that if you guys didn't gain weight to match a healthy average in time the brain would do something, brain inflammation can happen and be triggered by certain frequencies, at least in our families its common" says Rebecca
"so this isn't a new thing with our families" asks Selena
"no, my sister and I had a similar problem, for us it was mallard duck calls" says Rebecca
"and you and your sister began playing with yourself uncontrollably" asks Selena
"no, that's a pretty unique reaction, my sister and I, we'd sneeze until someone nudged us, Cat and Cally's aunt June had a similar reaction to seagulls, I think you girls reacting the way you do is because of the implications your brains make to the sound, even at a young age" says Rebecca
"can it be fixed, Cally, Jade and I looking at a house to share with Cat and Tori, apparently money is still very tight with our families still and if we're sharing a place with them Cally and I want to make absolutely certain that we don't attempt to jump Jade if we hear Tori or Cat moan" asks Selena
"is Cat on that new insurance, I heard that sometimes it takes a week and yes your issue can be resolved, there is a medication that can target certain impulse events, it takes about a week to do its job, basically it rewire the impulsive urge to immediately follow through with an impulsive thought, because that's basically what it is, anyway it makes it something that's controllable, you girls may still find yourselves catching your hands heading down there when you hear a moan but you can stop it, however it works better if you reinforce your reaction to the sound with something else" says Rebecca
"are you encouraging Cally and I to have sex with Jade if we get turned on by a moan while on this medication" asks Selena
"trust me Jade will be more than willing to help, however since you're back to Selena Vega and Cally Valentine there is nothing stopping you from being sexual with Cally as well, it wouldn't have to be just Jade" says Rebecca
"isn't it a legal issue, Cat is Cally's twin and I'm Tori's twin, couldn't we be arrested" asks Selena
"not if the relationship is separate from Cat and Tori's, the legal theory has never thought to be applied to two female twins dating two female twins, so long as you don't all engage in a polyamorous relationship in whatever house you choose there is no legal obligation for cops to arrest you girls, the only way it could be a legal issue is if one of either twin relationship was a guy, people will claim its amoral but that doesn't hold water here" says Rebecca as Selena breaths a sigh of relief
"Cat started yes, they created a tailored insurance policy for us but it's in Cat's name, Tori, Cally, Jade and I are just sub policy users, Jade makes enough residual income from her play going across the country now to pay for us to use it and Cat pays for her and Tori's part, Cat had told them she needed to know by this morning if she was approved or not because she needed a refill of her meds and needed to know if she had to pay for it or if insurance would cover it, apparently the insurance people didn't need long, apparently getting someone like Cat, as popular as she is was more important than making money selling her an equivalent but way more expensive insurance policy, today Cat moved in with Tori and rent won't continue with Cat's parents but she will still help them out if they need it, today her bank account is in the tens of thousands instead of the hundreds and she just got back the twenty grand she sunk into her meds yesterday, you can just tell Cat's breathing easier" says Selena
"you should know the medication is considered risky, not because it won't work but because on a single occasion a patient was left temporarily blind, the doctor that allowed the patient to take it demanded that the pharmaceutical company that makes it put a warning or waiver in place and that all doctors be told of all the possible issues the medication can have on an individual once the regime is done so you and Cally will have to sign waivers saying we informed you of the potential risks of the medication but otherwise you'll be released tonight once the waiver is signed" says Rebecca
"we won't have those issues though right, because Cally won't sign the waiver if there's any possibility she could get one of them" asks Selena, knowing Cally is afraid of every medications possible side effects
"you don't have any of the issues that caused any of the potential side effects, the patient that lost her vision temporarily, she had eye cancer in her left eye, the doctor foolishly thought that not treating the cancer first was a good idea, the patients trigger was visual so the medication affected he optical nerve, that's the nerve that connects the eye to the brain, she fully recovered though" says Rebecca as she rolls Selena's hospital bed back into the room
"when do we get the meds that fix us, you promised we'd get them today, every time this thing beeps I'm afraid I'm going to have a heart attack or a nurse is going to check up on me that has a sigh that sounds like a moan and that it'll set me off and we'll have to be here all week, this place scares me" says Cally quickly
"is the machine too loud" asks Rebecca stalling for time as the waivers get printed
"very, it sounds like it's in my ear, I tried moving it away even just a little and a nurse came in and yelled at me not to touch it, I even told her how loud it was to me and she still told me I can't move it" says Cally as the machine beeps and she jumps
"ok that is loud, someone must have turned that up, here let me turn that down for you" says Rebecca as she turns the audio level down on the vital monitor and it beeps quieter
"oh that's better, I thought my ears were going to fall off" says Cally
"I'm surprised there aren't any damage marks on it" says Selena
"you know very well that you taught me what technology can kill me and which ones can't do so by design without malice designed into it, you told me it was safe, that's the only reason I let the doctors take me for that big scary loud test and also why I let them take you for it when I came back here, I was scared to hell because of that machine but I knew that it wouldn't kill me unless it scared me enough and that would be a me problem, I actually like watching it change, is there a home version…. Wait we were talking about the meds" says Cally getting herself back on track as a nurse arrives with the meds and waivers
"you have to sign these waivers first, then after a 'watch and wait' period Jade will come pick you up assuming nothing that requires a longer period here happens" says Rebecca
"I won't sign any waiver until you tell me why, I refuse to blindly sign anything and I will not take any responsibility for any meds you give me, you're the doctor but I will not let myself suffer from a mistake you may make" says Cally firmly
"it's merely a formality, a few years ago a doctor who was treating a patient with eye cancer in their left eye, their action trigger was of the visual variety and the doctor decided to treat the impulse actions before the cancer, which is a big problem, you always treat cancer first unless it's inoperable because this medication literally says it interacts with any and all cancer cells, that doctors error caused her to cover her tracks and demand things from the medication company like a waiver and explicit warnings about anything the medication may even slightly interact with" says Rebecca
"is that what the tests were for all weekend" asks Cally
"yes, we did extensive research and tests to make sure that you girls wouldn't have any negative interactions and the medication only needs a week to work but you will have to do some sort of physical activity, sex or otherwise to further help you associate the sound with the proper action and before you say anything your legal last names now match the ones you would have had had you not been adopted, the judge approved the motion this morning, your last names are no longer Jones so you can legally have sex with both Jade and Selena if you want" says Rebecca as Cally blushes
"ok ok give me that paper, I'm signing it" says Cally as Rebecca hands over the waivers
Later that day as Jade comes to pick them up
"all go well ever the weekend" asks Jade
"Cat predicted a psychic phenomenon that causes electricity to shutoff and turn back on, we experienced it all weekend but they're all good now, if anything a lot has calmed down, about an hour after they took the medication there were no more electrical issues" says Rebecca
"so you're saying Cally and Selena could have psychic abilities" asks Jade
"I had a psychic here to answer that exact question, the psychic said they're more conduits than anything, the dead work through them, there's a long feud between the Vega's and Valentine's, long story but one fam murdered someone on the other family, it's not certain who was with what family but the theory is they want the feud to continue and Cally and Selena being sensitive and a conduit are allowing it to continue, without them realizing it" says Rebecca
"is that what happened at Gateway, people said Cally was flung and Cally doesn't remember anything about it, she says one minute she was huddling to Selena and the next she was in bed and everyone looked terrified" says Jade
"it's likely yes, though the entire western coast of North America, yes even Canada and Mexico, we've all had electricity issues since September, it's not every city but the city's that do experience it get it way more often than those that aren't epicentres of activity" says Rebecca
"is there a way to close the door" asks Jade
"not entirely, Selena and Cally have experienced it their entire lives, Tori and Cat have had brushes with it but they've got the assistance of an ancestor that wants the feud over for good, that's why their first kiss was so violent Tori described it like their lips were their own beings and were attracted to each other, the spirits will leave Cally and Selena alone while they recover but expect them to be sexually active, with you or each other" says Rebecca
"will being sexually active help" asks Jade
"this medication resets the impulse control in the brain, it would help them transition, their brain needs an alternative" says Rebecca
"I'm just afraid that I won't live up to their expectations" says Jade
"trust me Jade, it won't matter, they're majorly loyal, besides I asked them about what they'd do if you didn't meet their expectations in bed and they said 'what expectations', they then went on to say that they love you and that's all that matters, when I asked if they care about endurance in bed they said 'we don't often last long against ourselves, we don't expect anyone to last long the first dozen times', anyway I can tell you're concerned about the paranormal activity that surrounds them" says Rebecca
"yeah is there any way to get it to stop" asks Jade
"an offering, an object they might put above the relationship, all four have to make an offering, it can be as simple as a clipping of hair to something like a specific pair of jeans, money won't be accepted as it has to be an offering by fire" says Rebecca
"did the psychic figure out any preferred items from the four of them" asks Jade
"Cat should give a clipping of hair, Cally needs to offer her favorite skirt, Selena her favorite pair of socks and Tori needs to offer half of her favorite foundation" says Rebecca
"wait half of all Tori's favourite foundation, that's at least a hundred dollars in product" says Jade
"no no, half of a single item, she needs to empty it out so she is left with half, whether it's powder or liquid, as long as its half" says Rebecca
"ok" says Jade
"have you found a house yet" asks Rebecca
"I have a walk through scheduled for tomorrow after school for one house, it has a pool and is close to Venice Beach, the owners daughters are big Cat Valentine fans and would die for a chance to sell their house to her" says Jade
"is it a big house" asks Rebecca
"it's on the larger side yeah but Cat also wants a vacation home in British Columbia Canada for some reason" says Jade
"we have family there in Vancouver that would sell her a house, she used to visit them all the time when she was little and they always made an effort to come visit but when money got extremely tight for both families five years ago the visits had to stop, nobody could afford to host and plane tickets skyrocketed, Cat's aunt June moved here from Vancouver to work with me, June is one of the best pharmacists in California for figuring out dosage for patients, I'm glad to work with her, anyway you should get them home" says Rebecca
At the West home an hour later after another ice-cream date
"you were really eating that ice-cream pretty fast, do you want to have fun or just watch a movie to end yet another amazing date" says Jade
"we'd honestly prefer you initiate but we want to watch the movie first, we didn't get to watch many movies growing up, our adoptive parents were very nervous about accidentally setting us off that they always watched movies first and if they found anything could even remotely set us off we never got to watch it, we ended up watching kid shows and movies, which we didn't mind but we have been waiting to watch this movie since it came out" says Cally as Jade frowns
"that's not to say if you were to interrupt the movie that we'd be mad, we're just not interested in initiating" says Selena
"ok that's fair I guess" says Jade
Meanwhile With Cat and Tori
"Jade said she found a house and we have a walkthrough after school, it's quite large, it has a pool and it's close to Venice Beach" says Tori as Cat's jaw drops
"Big, a Pool AND close to Venice Beach, if I like the house then I'm buying it, no question, it'll just be a matter of if everyone else agrees" says Cat excited to see this house
"oh but you should know, the current owners kids are massive fans, they'll want an autograph" says Tori as Cat giggles in excitement
"ooh more fans, awesome, I can give away some merch" says Cat
"I didn't know you could give away merch, I thought the label would stop you, also you're not much of a people person when it comes to people you don't know" asks Tori
"I'm allowed to give five of each item away to fans every month and one of each at every meet and greet for the fans with less money" says Cat
"have you actually ever done that" asks Tori
"twice, a girl from Nova Scotia in Canada, her family made the trip for that week long meet and greet I had and they couldn't afford to stay the whole week, they could barely afford the plane trip down even though my manager got them discounted tickets, she was really excited to meet me, she nearly fainted three times but when she saw the prices she cried because her parents couldn't afford it, she got in line about a dozen times the first day hoping the prices would drop, I approached them at the start of the second day and asked for help working the merch, her eyes got real wide, her parents were hesitant but I told them there was a merch reward in play, in the end she ended up with a sweater for her and her older sister who is battling cancer, a cd for both of them and extra stuff, they're both about the same size as me so I gave them both skirts I wore at my first mini concert the label had me do, I never really liked them, too long but they seemed to love them" says Cat
"why give away something you wore to your first big sold out event and are they allowed to sell it" asks Tori
"I asked them not to sell the skirts because they're actually worth quite a bit and I can give them away if I find a fan I feel is worthy, those girls have worn them basically non-stop since, they love the skirts" says Cat
"we'll see how it goes tomorrow, we should really go for that date, we spent all day studying and not enough time kissing" says Tori
"hey grades matter too Tor" says Cat
