At the Karman Line, after the end of the Doctor's match with Sandy, a meteor-like spaceship got a signal from Earth. In the bridge, a Prahaite came into the room to inform the captain. "Captain Marbuk!" he said.

"What is it, Officer Porphyr?" Marbuk replied.

"The reinforcement signal from Officer Sidion had gone off! He's probably been killed!"

"We shall mourn him later. At least we know where the defect is." Marbuk turned to his right side. "Lieutenant Granidos, prepare the Nibiru ships. The mission had turned from capturing the defect to hunting her down."

"On it, captain!" Granidos said before leaving to initiate the launching process of the Nibiru ships. They disconnected from the main ship and began to accelerate towards Earth, more specifically towards Sunderland, England. To the citizens of the United Kingdom, it looked like a meteor shower was occurring, causing mass panic, only when it seemed like an impact was about to happen, the ships slowed down and landed as softly as they could, mostly around the Point.

It was around this time that the Doctor and Sandy got outside and ended up accidentally meeting Jessica. "Jessica!" the Doctor said as she ran towards her.

"Doctor!" Jessica replied as the Doctor got beside her, "There's meteorites that landed like spaceships?"

"They are spaceships." The Doctor looked at Sandy. "Sandy, this is Jessica. Jessica, this is the woman that the people on these spaceships are tracking down to kill." The Doctor looked back at Jessica. "Jessica..."

"Yeah. I'll be at the TAR-"

"Are you ready to fight?"

Jessica was surprised. First she was talked down by the Doctor and now she has been requested to fight? It seemed peculiar to her. "I mean, I'm not particularly strong nor skilled at fighting."

"Try sweeping them. They're made of stone."

"So these guys are emotionless?"

"No." Sandy replied before showing and hiding her underskin to Jessica's shock, "They're literally people made of stone like me."

"Right, so I'm facing off against actual golems. Ah crap."

The doors of the Nibiru ships began to open. "Just one Hail Mary."

"I told you that talking to them wouldn't work."

"It's not going to be just a talk." The doors fully opened and Granidos came out. "Greetings, stone man."

"Refer to me as that again and your skull will be reduced to dust." Granidos replied, "We are looking for Sandastro. Where is she?"

"Oh. I should tell you my name first. Hi, I'm Sandastro, though you can call me Doctor."

Granidos smiled. "Get her."

The Doctor was grabbed and taken to the Nibiru ship. "Doctor!" Jessica yelled as the ship was taking off.

Back on the Karman Line, the Doctor was taken to the bridge of the spaceship, where Marbuk was sitting. He turned around and saw her. "Ah," he said, "the defect."

"Hmmmm..." the Doctor replied, "Not actually all that true."

Marbuk dropped his smile. "Kill her and trawl the planet for the real defect."

"The real defect whose only flaw is that some of her teeth are chipped?"

"How do you know?"

"I know her. In fact, I wrestled with her in a match and everyone cheered her. Literally nothing wrong with her other than having chipped teeth. Seriously, you guys are carved by someone else and then animated. How many of you are there in the entire universe?"

"Around four-hundred thousand."

"Not that much considering the size of the planet of Prague. One big disaster and you're all gone."

"We are built perfectly. We can handle a disaster."

"Really? Then why did one of the "perfectly built" ones get their head pounded in by the woman you call a defect? All these perfect standards are stifling any sort of progress you may have. I'm here to offer you a deal. I'll give you the defect you are looking for in exchange for not just a guarantee that she won't be reduced to rubble, but less punishing standards for the creation of your species."

"Even if they lose an arm in the middle of carving?"

"Especially. There's plenty of super glue in the universe. All this deal will do in insure that you won't be extinct. Deal?"

Marbuk thought about it for a moment. "Deal."

"Captain..." Porphyr said.

"Officer Porphyr, she is right. Our numbers are low and one of our finest officers died to the one we were hunting down. Besides, give her some new teeth and barely anyone will notice. Granidos, put her back."

The Doctor was escorted back down to Earth and both Sandy and Jessica were waiting. "Doctor?" Sandy said, "How are you back?"

"The Hail Mary worked." the Doctor replied, "You have to go into the ship, however."

"No thank you!"

"I made the deal so that they're not going to reduce you to rubble. They've been convinced that their standards were too ridiculous to keep up. You'll be safe."

Sandy reluctantly got on board while passing the Doctor, who bumped into her and placed a small chip on her. "This is to make sure they keep their end of the bargain."

The Doctor and Sandy split off, with Sandy being in the Nibiru ship. The ship closed its doors and took off along with the rest of the Nibiru ships that landed. "Doctor," Jessica began, "why did you do that?"

"Because if I didn't, the timeline would collapse. Follow me."

Jessica followed the Doctor into the TARDIS and saw her input commands onto the computer. "What is this?"

"The timeline of the Prahaites. It's at this specific point where Sandastro was taken back to Prague and ended up setting an example of a member of that species who didn't need to be carved completely perfectly. Their numbers are going to grow and they will end up bringing their planet to a golden age. Sandy being taken was a fixed point in time, you see."

"So you traded someone away in the hope that something good came out of it?"

"Jessica, these are the decisions I have to make almost every waking moment of my life. Not everyone likes what I need to do. I have long since accepted that. However, every single thing I have done or have tried to do was only for the benefit of the universe as a whole. You've travelled with me. You've seen firsthand what I'm like." Jessica still seemed rather unhappy. "If it makes you feel any better, I didn't mean anything of what I said about you back in the ring."

"That's not what I'm annoyed about. You were right, I did waste my talents by being in a menial job in a village that took the council over five months to fully clean after it was covered in isomalt. I should be working in a big city like London or New York or Tokyo, making a better life for me and my family, and maybe I can even have enough money to buy my own house. None of what you said in the ring is what's pissing me off. It's that an innocent woman was sent to potentially die by your hand! You like to say you're doing good, but if doing good is stuff like this, then what is good?"

The Doctor stared at the computer. "Honestly, at this point, I don't know. Every decision has consequences, not all of them good." the Doctor looked back at Jessica "If you don't want to come with me anymore, that's fine. For what I've done, I'm sorry."

Jessica was beginning to understand what the Doctor was saying. She knew now that it was better to send Sandy away rather than try and possibly fail to defend her. "Apology accepted. Want to have Christmas dinner with my family?"

The Doctor smiled. "I don't know. They didn't seem too happy about my comments about you."

"Eh. They don't remain angry for long."

"Then I will go. Just let me change back to normal first."

The Doctor changed back to her normal attire and went to Jessica's home, where she enjoyed a dinner with the rest of the Burgess family. At the end of the dinner, Jessica gave the Doctor a small present. "A gift for you." she said.

"Thank you." the Doctor replied, "I'll open this in the TARDIS later."

"Maybe you could come into my room later?" Phineas chimed in.

"I knew what the looks you gave me meant when I was wrestling earlier today." The Doctor showed off her wedding ring. "I'm not going into your room anytime soon." The Doctor got up. "Merry Christmas to you all."

The Doctor and Jessica walked all the way from her house back to the TARDIS, still parked at the Point. They got inside and Jessica was tired from all the walking. "Doctor..." she said.

"There's a bedroom right next to this console room." the Doctor replied, "You can sleep there."

"Thanks, Doctor."

Jessica went to the bedroom and began to sleep. While Jessica was sleeping, the Doctor stayed in the console room, eyeing the gift she was given. She opened it up to reveal a little box. In that box was a metal pin badge designed like a police box, the exact kind that the TARDIS got her look after. She put the badge on her satchel and took a deep breath before saying two words to herself: "Merry Christmas."
