"How do you come up with such random nonsensical things all the time?" She laughed.
Finally!
Damn!
How could someone's laughter make me grin like an idiot?
Why would it feel like music to my ears?
Why would it want to make me dance with joy!
It was just a laugh, for God's sake!
How could it hold so much power!
"It's called talent," I joked.
"Talent! Yeah, right!" She chuckled, "But seriously! You've ruined this song for me now! I doubt if I'd be able to listen to it without remembering this."
"That's a good thing, I guess? For me, I mean!" I said.
She shook her head.
"What's wrong with you?" she smiled.
At least she was smiling while asking this question now!
"Nothing." I smiled back.
"Then why are you behaving like this? Why are you... Why are you bringing up such a thing?" she said, "I really don't get it."
"I've already told you. I really like you. I didn't take my chances earlier, and I've some serious regrets about that. I'm just giving it a try. You need to believe me when I say that I'm really serious about this," I said.
I doubted if I had been this sincere about anything in my whole life!
"Edward... I can't. I'm sorry, but I can't." She said, "I don't want to make this awkward, so I hope we can put an end to this. Please! It's my humble request to you."
"Okay," I said.
As if I had any other option other than agreeing with her!
I mean, I couldn't possibly force her to like me!
I guess I just had to live with the fact that she was never going to like me back!
