"Thanks for the Coffee date." He said as he was leaving.
Well, I hated that he had to leave, but he had dinner plans with his Mom.
"It was not a date!" I smiled.
"Oh, it was not?" he said, "I guess it puts more pressure on me to plan a perfect 'first' date! I always feel that first date planning is always difficult. Second, third, they're all just the same!"
"Who says I agreed to go on a date with you?" I joked.
"I've faith," he said.
"Faith in who?" I asked.
"In my 'plan'!" He said, "I know it's going to work out well! First step was to manipulate you so that you offer me coffee followed by a kiss. Second step is to go on a date. Third, get into your bed. Fourth, get married. Fifth, get my family's business stake back! It's a perfect plan!"
"Till when do you plan to drag this 'plan' thing?" I said as I shook my head.
"Until you stop getting annoyed with it, I guess!" He laughed.
"Bye!" I smiled.
"I swear I will kill you if you show me the same numbers again, Garrett," Edward's voice brought me back to the present.
God! I was so distracted today!
"You've been showing the same projections since ages! Come on! I want to see something new!" He said.
"We're getting impacted by the market condition," Garrett replied.
"C'mon... Market conditions will always change," he replied as he typed something in his laptop, "That's not an excuse!"
" I shouldn't have said I could kill him! Thank God nobody is recording the video, or I might be the prime suspect in case he gets killed tomorrow."
I couldn't control my chuckle as I received a message from him, and well... I noticed everyone's eyes were on me!
"Sorry... It's... Sorry! Please continue!" I said embarrassingly.
""C'mon... Please share with us if there's something funny. I think we all can use a good laugh. Garrett's numbers are too depressing anyway!" Edward said to me with a straight face.
"No... It's just... My Dad and... He... No... Sorry for the interruptions! Let's just proceed with the meeting," I said.
"Yeah, so I was saying that the market condition is impacting us badly. It is not an excuse," Garrett said.
"I swear, I will kill you!"
I sent a message to him.
"Just using a marketing condition is not enough," he replied while typing something again.
"Thank you."
I got a response from him.
Thank you? Like, what the hell did that mean?
"?"
I sent the text.
"Everyone is facing the 'market conditions'. Please elaborate what you mean by that," he said as he typed something again.
"Thank you for providing the written evidence that you do have an intention of killing me."
He was just... unbelievable!
I put my hand on my mouth so as not to laugh again!
