"So tell me something..." he asked me, "Why do you think I'm a misogynist asshole?"

Well, we were officially on our first date! He said he had some extravagant plans, but I asked him to keep it simple, so he agreed for the upscale Italian restaurant. He said he had a feeling he'd get more chances to work on his 'extravagant' plans!

"I don't know..." I said, "I've always seen you acting like an asshole towards women."

"Then I think you're widely mistaken," he said, "I don't think you know me well enough to comment on such a thing. You're putting a serious accusation on me."

He seemed offended, but well, he might not be wrong. I didn't know him 'well enough' to comment!

"I know... I'm sorry..." I said, "I just said what I felt, but you're right. I don't know you well enough."

"I've never ever discriminated based on gender," he said, "Never."

Okay, why did he want to discuss this right now!

This didn't seem like something we should be discussing on the first date!

"Okay, I agree that I could be mistaken, but I don't think we should be discussing it right now," I said, "I..."

"Let me complete first," he interrupted me.

He was pissing me off now!

He was spoiling the mood!

"I've never ever discriminated based on gender," he said, "I'm an asshole towards everyone, irrespective of gender! So yes, you can say that I am an asshole, but I'm not a misogynist asshole," he laughed.

"You brought this topic just to crack this stupid joke, didn't you?" I shook my head.

"But it's not a joke. It's a fact!" He laughed, "I'm just an asshole!"

"That's not something to be proud of," I said.

"Well, what can I say? I'm proud of a lot of things I shouldn't really be proud of!" He winked.

"Why do you think it's a good idea to piss off people on the first day with such nonsense jokes? How many 'first' dates have you spoiled because of your fantastic sense of humor?" I asked.

"Zero." He said.

"Well, it's one now." I said.

"Well, there is something more you should know about me. I don't like pissing off everyone," he smiled, "I just like pissing off people I really lo... like!"
