"Sometimes life throws unexpected challenges at you, but you need to do it anyway because you've no other option!" He addressed everyone.
I put my hand on my forehead. I was pretty sure he was going to crack stupid jokes in the speech!
"Like, I need to say good things about Rosalie because it's her wedding! Like... It took me ages to come up with this speech! Rosalie and nice things? They just don't go hand in hand!"
Rosalie showed him the fist!
It had been three weeks since our 'first' date, and he was growing on me!
He made me smile, and laugh... a lot!
I was beginning to see that he wasn't too bad once you really know him!
"Anyway..." he said, "So... It was fun to have her as my twin sister. You know, a best friend who you can always play with and always bully! She was Dad's favorite though, and I didn't like that! "
"When we lost our Dad when we were fourteen... Well, I became the 'man' of the house, but believe me! I wasn't any help to anyone! I was completely lost, but my family was lucky to have Rosalie in our lives."
"I saw the complete transition in her. She was there for everyone. She was Mom's best friend... She became Alice's mentor... And for me? I don't think any words would be able to suffice for what she did for me. She trusted me when I didn't have any faith in me. She never judged me for any of my bullshit. She told me I was going to achieve everything I ever dreamed of, and even more than that. I'm not sure if I'd have been the same person if she wasn't in my life. She was and is my pillar of strength!"
"She is one of the strongest women I've ever known," he smiled, "You're very lucky to have her, Emmett."
That was just... too sweet!
I didn't know he was capable of saying such nice things!
Ugh! What was he doing to my heart!
"And... Then she met Emmett!" He said, "You know, the moment I met Emmett, and I just knew he was just the best! He is the only one who 'understands' my jokes. He is the only one who laughs out loud at my 'brilliant' jokes," he said, and Emmett laughed out loud.
"Whereas other people just want to kill me for my jokes!"
He threw a glance at me, before looking back at Emmett.
I smiled.
It's like I couldn't keep smiling around him!
"But you know, I kept waiting for some kind of altercation with him, where you know, I could go in the 'strong, protective brother' mode where I could say something like, 'How dare you hurt my sister'!" He said, "But he never gave me a chance! He's just... too nice!"
I laughed.
"And yeah, one more thing," he said, "It's always been my favorite hobby to make my sister cry, and looks like I've just achieved it one more time."
"I love you." Rosalie said as she blew him a kiss.
"One more thing," he said, "I've always told her how ugly she looks when she cries, but she never listens to me!"
"I hate you!" Rosalie said, and he laughed out loud.
