"I don't see why that's a problem," he said.

No, he was not going to understand it.

"Probably I don't care about people as much as I care about getting involved much and losing you later because we didn't think this through," I said, "I'm afraid of the heartbreak."

I couldn't believe I was saying all this out loud!

Since when had I become so comfortable sharing everything with someone?

I was really surprised with myself!

"And why do you think there is going to be a heartbreak?" He said, "I'm not interested in getting my heart broken either. I love you. And let me tell you that I'm never going to break your heart."

It felt surreal to hear this kind of thing from him!

Did he really love me?

It was crazy!

"But you're right. We need to think this through before our relationship takes a serious turn," he said.

"Yeah." I said.

"I really have very high respect for your intelligence, but something from this conversation makes me really question it," he said.

I shouldn't have told him the truth about Carlisle and my marriage! He was going to judge me forever for that!

"Did you really think that I'd get married to Jane if I don't find anyone else by thirty?" He said.

I put my hand on my face. I shouldn't have said that either!

"No, I didn't believe that," I said, "But I still think you both would make a lovely couple."

Yeah, even if I hated that, that was the fact.

"Well, then let me tell you something. Matchmaking is not a profession you should ever consider taking up!" he said.

"Thank you for your suggestion," I said.

"There is one more thing," he said.

"Yes?" I asked.

"You said you want to play Tennis with me. Well, I don't want to play with you! I hate losing, and I doubt I can ever win if you're my partner," he said.

I rolled my eyes.

"You really want me to change my mind about you, don't you?" I said.

"You sound mad," he said.

"No, I'm not mad," I said.

"Damn! Let me try harder," he said.

What?

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You see..." He said, "I'm just trying to fight with you."

What?

"And why are you trying to fight with me?" I asked.

"Because you said you want to fight with me... And then you want to make up with me by kissing me." He said, "Just getting ready for the makeup kiss! I'm already excited!"

I shook my head.

How could he come up with these kinds of stupid jokes all the time!

Like, we just had one of the most serious conversations ever, but he had to give it a funny twist with his stupid jokes!

"I really, really hate you!" I said.

"But I love you." He laughed.
