"Jacob and Riley mentioned they haven't talked to you since a long time," I said.
"I don't want to talk to them," he replied without taking his eyes off his laptop.
"Why? Did they beat you to some game or something? Did they hurt your ego, boy?" I joked.
"Ha-ha" he said.
I guess I should spend less time with him! My sense of humor was stooping to his level!
It had been five weeks since Rosalie's wedding, and we had been doing pretty well since then!
"I realized that they have hurt you a lot, and I had been accomplice quite a few times," I said, "There were times I should have said something, but I didn't, and I regret it. The more I think about everything, the more it makes me angry."
Huh!
I didn't expect to hear that!
"They are your friends! I don't want you to stop meeting them because of me," I said.
"As I said, I'm really mad at some of the things that you have had to go through in the past. Now that I revisited everything, I just... can't get that out of my head," he said, "And... You're my number one priority. Everyone can just go to hell."
"You're nice enough to give them a chance after chance," he continued, "If it were me, I wouldn't even want to see their faces," he said.
"I don't think I've ever forgiven them completely... " I said, "But sometimes I understand their point. They were a happy family. And then one day, I showed up, and their world was kind of shattered. I can imagine what Renee must have been through. I guess I should just be grateful that she didn't abandon me and at least I had a home."
"It was not your fault," he said, "Your parents had an affair. It was your Dad's responsibility to make sure you don't have to go through the bullying. He should have been a good father."
"I thought you liked him," I said.
"He's a fun guy to be around," he said, "He plays good Tennis, and he cracks good jokes, but that's about it!"
"Look who's talking?" I joked.
"And that's why I'm trying to change myself," he said, "And I want to be a better person. I want to be someone worthy of your love."
It still seemed absurd when he talked like this!
"Don't change too much," I smiled.
"Let's see," he said.
"So you don't plan to talk to them forever?" I asked.
"Ehh... One can't get rid of a girlfriend's family," he said, "I mean, look at this oldie!" He said as he shot a glance at my plush toy.
"Don't hate Pooh!" I chuckled.
