Chapter One
After the events of the Konoha Crush.
I was one of the few Jonin ranked individuals sent out of the village on continued missions.
Obviously we had to maintain our usual level of clearance.
Or risk losing our livelihood to the other competing Shinobi Villages.
I was however a little dismayed that said missions were being handed out by the Villages supposed Elders.
As such I treated every mission with a certain level of distrust.
I was just glad Danzo was still laying low right now.
Honestly I don't know how I would have reacted to him if he hadn't.
The reason being that the lack of his Shinobi's involvement in protecting Konoha infuriated me.
For a man who says everything he does is for Konoha, his actions certainly show a different mentality.
It had really only supported the opinion I had from my last life that it wasn't Konoha he cared about.
But his control over it that mattered to him.
He wanted desperately to be the Hokage.
While at the same time failing to realise why he was never chosen for it in the first place.
And while it's not a job I'm ever going to want.
Even I can see that the Hokage's job is about seeing Konoha into a better tomorrow.
A tomorrow for its citizens to actually enjoy peace in this war torn violent and hostile world.
That a goal I can get behind and one I hope Naruto achieves when it's his turn to become the Hokage.
I had all these thoughts and more going through my mind as I traversed across the country.
I went from bandit uprisings, to assassinating the aristocracy.
But every mission where I was required to kill, I made sure it was an actual villain I was sent to target.
I knew I couldn't avoid getting my hands bloody in this world.
But I damn sure wasn't going to stain my hands in the blood of the innocent.
I even told the Konoha elders that exact thing when one of the missions they sent me on would have had me kill a small child. And only for the reason being they were before them in the line of succession as the next Wind Daimyo.
The client using the failings of the Sands invasion as political reason why they should be the next Daimyo instead.
I also found out they personally contacted Koharu and Homura to set up the mission.
As such I quickly returned to the Leaf to have it out with them.
And have it out with them I did.
It resulted in quite the shouting match between us.
Koharu and Homura both demanded I follow their orders.
And that was simply something I refused to do.
They especially hated when I pointed out their roles were as advisors only.
And they had no right using Konoha Shinobi for personal missions.
At first they threatened me for my actions.
I was quite relieved when Shikaku Nara arrived.
He had apparently overheard our entire argument.
And as Jonin Commander decided it was his duty to step in.
And despite how troublesome he called the entire situation he agreed with me whole heartedly.
He then informed them that when the next Hokage takes up their role he was going to suggest they be stripped of their positions due to their actions in this case.
After that Shikaku suggested I remain in the village for the time being.
As he was worried should I leave the borders I would "mysteriously" disappear.
And so I experienced my longest period inside the Leaf since becoming a Chunin.
I also figured if I am forced to remain here then I might as well put this time to good use.
Thus I spent most of it continuing my studies in Fuinijutsu.
I had now moved onto the more Intermediate levels of the sealing arts.
These included Sealing Scrolls, and Explosive Tags.
I sadly couldn't use Shadow Clones to speed up my studies though due to still being in the midst of recharging the Nine Tails Chakra in my Strength Of One Hundred Seal.
And that was definitely a slow process.
It was definitely the downside of being a pseudo-Jinchuriki as opposed to the real thing.
Things continued along this vein until Naruto returned to the Leaf.
And with him and Jaraiya they had brought with them Shizune, and Tsunade.
It didn't take long for Tsunade to then be installed as the Fifth Hokage.
And as Shikaku said he suggested he remove Koharu and Homura from their roles.
She did the same with Danzo the moment he finally had the gall to show his face.
And if you thought the screaming match I had with the two elders was anything, it had nothing on the one between Danzo and Tsunade.
But Tsunade didn't back down an inch.
I kind of wished I could have been there to witness it but alas I am but a lowly Tokubetsu Jonin.
I did however eventually get called for a private meeting with Tsunade once she had settled into her role as Hokage.
I was summoned by Yamato in his role as an Anbu.
He informed me Tsunade wanted to see me.
And thus I dropped my studying and Body Flickered to the Hokages Office.
It felt odd being here if I was honest.
Under Hiruzen's tenure I think I was only in here a grand total of twice.
All out other dealings were handled in the Mission Distribution offices.
I followed Yamato into Tsunade's office.
The moment we were there he Body Flickered away.
Thus it was just Tsunade and I (and the Anbu in the ceiling but we don't count them).
I dropped on one knee to Tsunade.
"Hokage Sama" I said politely while facing down.
It was standard procedure.
"So you're Naruto's big Brother" were the first words out of her mouth.
"Okay wasn't expecting that" I thought.
"You definitely have his ability to piss people off" she snorted.
I looked up to see her smiling.
"What can I say it's a gift" I replied causing her to laugh loudly.
It took her a while to calm down.
But once she did she began to tell me how she had read my file.
"So you're a medical Nin" she stated.
"Yes Hokage Sama" I said.
"I have been trained by Mizaki since I was but a small child" I said.
Tsunade grinned.
"I know Mizaki she is a talented Medical Nin" She said.
Which from her was no small amount of praise.
I was definitely not expecting her to then begin flinging question question at me judging mt medical Ninjutsu knowledge.
And I expected even less when she demanded a practical display of my skills.
Somehow in the hours that followed I seemed to have gained her approval.
Enough so that the things I didn't know she offered up her student Shizune up as my teacher.
Obviously I agreed right away.
The only down side of the deal is that I would have to become Shizune's Assistant during that time.
But it was a downside I was sure I could handle.
I had but one more Mission cycle to go on before I took on my role as Shizune's assistant.
And so I was told to get that sorted out as soon as possible.
Which is what I did.
Several months later I was on my final mission of the cycle.
It was supposed to be a A-rank Mission in the land of Waves.
I was quite amused as I traversed that place.
As it gave me the chance to cross "the Great Naruto Bridge".
The mission in itself wasn't all that difficult.
It involved filling the power Vacuum in the area before any other powers could do so.
Because of this there were no shortage of Missing Nin who tried to swoop down on the place.
As such it provided quite a lot of combat experience for me.
Experience where I got to use the Shisui special as I had come to call that version of the Body Flicker.
This combined with the Rasengan.
And my Kenjutsu was enough to handle most threats.
But imagine my surprise when one of the individuals I came across was Ao of the Hidden Mist.
Or should I say when he came across me.
"Damn Byakugan" I mentally complained.
"You're just a kid" he said as he glared down at me.
"And you're an old fart" I replied sarcastically.
"Run home to Konoha brat" he said.
"We of the Mist Rebellion need these lands" he said.
"Fuck off" I replied.
"My Brother saved these people from tyranny not long ago" I said confidently.
"And I'll be a monkeys uncle before I hand their land over to people in a Civil War" I stated.
"Unfortunate" he said and instantly he attacked.
His Byakugan activated and he proved how skilled of a Mist Shinobi he was.
His hands flew through the hand signs and a large Water Style Dragon Bullet Technique shot towards me.
Only a my hands moved just as fast matching him sign for sign.
His technique was met it with an identical one of my own.
"How?" he said in shock.
"You're not the only one with special eyes" I said as I activated my Sharingan.
The greed in his expression was palpable.
I could already see him imagining what he could accomplish with a Byakugan and a Sharingan.
"Looks like I'm taking you back with me kid" he said.
"Only if you're still alive" I replied.
I then began using the Shisui Special moving around him at incredible speed.
But with that damn Byakugan I couldn't take him by surprise.
Something he was incredibly cocky about.
"You can't hide from my eye" he said in a gloating tone.
I grinned back "looks like I will have to bring it up close and personal then" I said as I summoned my sword.
I used the Secret Sword:Moonlight and attacked with a vicious slash.
"Ha you missed!" Ao sneered.
"Did I?" I said.
At that moment the ear holding the talisman protecting his eye separated from his head.
It dropped to the ground.
Ao's face followed it to the ground in a look of shock and panic.
"What did you do?" I heard him say.
After all the thing protecting his eye is now no longer an issue.
I grinned knowing that it would only activate if I targeted his eye first.
Something I only knew because of the anime.
And it being something not many would know.
But without it his eye is now fair game.
And in his panicked state he was far more open to my attacks.
I rushed him again before his head lifted in my hand the Rasengan spinning furiously.
I was within mere millimetres from striking him with-it before he seemed to pull himself back together.
He jumped backwards to avoid me only to be struck in the back of the neck with a flying Kunai.
Little did he know the me with the Ransegan was a simple ruse.
One that drew his attention while a Shadow Clone used the Byakugans Blind spot and a copied Shurikenjutsu from Sasuke to strike him in the top of his neck paralyzing him from there downwards
"Tell me did you do this for my eye?" he asked as he lay motionless on the ground.
"No" I replied.
"Then why?" He asked.
"Because you were a villain in that abomination Boruto" I said as I plunged my sword through his chest killing him instantly.
I then stored his body in a scroll to pick up the bounty from him later.
I did however pluck out his now defenceless eye despite what I said to him.
Which I would hand over to the Hyuga for their own bounty.
Of course I did take a sample from it first.
That way I should be able to cultivate my own Byakugan if the mood so strikes me.
Thankfully my time in the Land of Waves was over not long after that.
Tsunade had sent a squad to set out a base on the side bordering the Land Of Fire.
And thus I was free to travel back to Konoha.
There I reported to Tsunade the goings on of the mission.
She was impressed and worried that the Mist Rebels were trying to take over those lands.
"I'll keep an eye on it" she said.
I shrugged as my job protecting them was now done.
And as expected I was paid handsomely.
Not only for the mission that but the bounty.
The Hyuga's were also glad to have the eye back also.
But that excitement I was feeling was soon brought to an end.
The reason being Naruto and Sasuke had apparently gotten into it on the roof of the Hospital.
"Ah we are at around that point" I thought upon being told it by a still shell shocked Naruto.
I was however worried that if he was this upset now, what was he going to be like when Sasuke eventually Leaves the Leaf.
I sighed thinking not to worry about that right now.
Instead I did what any big brother does best and tries to be there for his sibling.
Even if it involved treating him to copious amounts of Ichiraku.
Thus burning through a large portion of the bounty I just received.
Chapter Two
Only a few weeks later and the event I expected to take place happens.
Sasuke leaves the Leaf to join up with Orochimaru.
But what I certainly wasn't expected was for me to be summoned to Tsunade's office.
In this time I had been helping Shizune co-ordinate with the hospital staff.
People like my Mother were quite accepting.
Yet others were more distrustful.
Something which boiled down to their fear of losing their jobs or change.
Those were the harder ones to deal with.
Especially when Shizune and Tsunade began discussing changes to the Hospital system to make it more efficient.
It was honestly quite stressful and something I'd gladly swap fighting one on one against a A-rank Shinobi for.
Due to that the moment an Anbu came to inform me Tsunade wanted to speak to me quickly I was out of the hospital like a bolt of lightning.
I arrived to Tsunade's office to find a small group of Genin's and one Chunin waiting there also.
"Ah Atsui" Tsunade said.
Her tone deadly serious.
"Big Bro" Naruto said eyes brimmed with a mix of sadness and righteous indignation.
"Wait this is your Big Brother" the one I recognise as Neji said.
Naruto simply nods.
"He was in my class at the Academy" Neji says.
I nod in agreement.
"I graduated early" was my reply.
"See I told you he is an awesome Ninja. He'll help us get Sasuke back no problem" Naruto said in his ever optimistic tone.
I then turned to Tsunade who confirmed that was exactly why I was there.
And as it was I would take the lead in this Mission.
Shikamaru would be second in command.
Something I noticed him sighing in relief over.
I got a brief run down of my missions goals.
They basically summed down to Retrieve Sasuke, and Defeat any enemies present while keeping these shinobi as safe as possible.
As was the burden of a Jonin Leader.
Thus I made my first decision as the Jonin in charge.
I stated that we were against unknown numbers of foes.
And thus I needed Shino and Lee to also join us.
While that was partially true as I couldn't expect events to play out as they did in Canon.
I actually also thought it would be a shame to leave the guys out despite knowing Lee would make an appearance anyway..
And thus we all quickly set out.
We met up with Shino and Lee by the gates where the first problem being when we were stopped by Sakura who was also waiting there for us.
Like in Canon she wanted Naruto to promise he would bring Sasuke back no matter what.
But as his Big Brother I wasn't having any of that.
"Of all the selfish Cuntish things you could have asked you had to ask that!" I responded shocking her.
"B...But" She stammered before I cut her off.
"No!" I yelled making her step back in shock.
"We are on our way to retrieve him right now. But you as a Shinobi know that sometimes missions don't go to plan. And sometimes the worst happens" I lectured her.
"And it is our job to minimise losses in those situation. And sometimes that involves cutting our losses when the time comes" I stated.
"But you wanting Naruto to bring back Sasuke no matter the cost is short sighted and ridiculous on your part. After all we have an entire team we also have to bring back but your focus is only on your pathetic little crush" I rebuked her.
"And that's not even mentioning the manipulative bitch you're being knowing that if Naruto promises something he never goes back on his word. The guy would then see his life as a willing cost if it meant keeping a promise" I finished before stomping past her.
The Rookie Ninja's under my command all stared at my back as I marched towards the gates.
Seeing I wasn't stopping they all rushed to catch up.
We then quickly left the Leaf and began tracking down Sasuke and his accomplisses.
Something made much easier with an Aburame, Inuzuka and a Hyuga on our team.
And with Shino and I there we were able to fill holes in our formations.
Thus we didn't need to move like the Shinobi version of a Conga Line.
Eventually we met our first enemy.
And like in the anime/manga we were forced to break off to take on our foes.
Only I also left behind a Shadow Clone at every battle as an insurance policy to the Rookie who was best to face that specific foe.
The fights pretty much lines up as they did in cannon.
Only instead of Kiba and Akamaru facing Sakon and Yukon by themselves they had Shino their to cover their backs.
As well as leaving Lee to work with Neji against their opponent.
Thus resulting in a much better result on that front but I wouldn't know that until later when my Shadow Clones memories would return to me.
Then when Kimimaro showed up I decided to take on that fight by myself leaving Naruto to rush on ahead.
At first Kimimaro tried to stop Naruto but I prevented him from doing so.
The moment he realised I wasn't going to allow him to prevent Naruto from stopping Sasuke Kimimaro turned his attacks towards me.
And wow was he an incredibly powerful individual.
No wonder Orochimaru once wanted him to act as his vessel.
But it was clear the attacks back and forth were for the most part nothing more than foreplay.
And after one exchange we jumped back from each other.
The grass planes spread all around us and the wind flowing through our hair.
"So you are the one Orochimaru is upset with" Kimimaro
I grinned.
"And what made Voldemaru so upset?" I asked despite knowing the answer.
"The notes you gave him were indecipherable" he scowled.
"Of course he would think that. The important information is in English" I replied.
"English?" Kimimaro asked.
"It's the language that philistines watch the anime in" I replied confusing him even more.
"Is there something wrong with your head?" Kimimaro asked.
To which I shrugged.
"Honestly there are times since I have been in this world that I have found myself that very same question" I replied playing along.
Sometimes the best way to get under these serious individuals skin is to be a little goofy.
It was something I had picked up over my time in this world.
The more off balance you make them the easier it is to defeat them.
Unfortunately there are always the rare individual it has no effect on.
Kimimaro as it appears is one such individual.
Seeming uninterested in what else I have to say he began to attack once again.
He used his bones expertly.
And was definitely Jonin level.
I even had to activate my Sharingan to be able to predict his movements and thus dodge them with the least amount of effort available.
Unfortunately for me he definitely had the momentum on his side.
I was barely able to get in even the slightest of counter attacks.
We then began battling in Kenjustu when he produced a sword of bone from out of his own thigh.
I began fighting him using a combination of Hayate's style and the style I copied from Zabuza.
And it soon became clear I had the advantage in such a fight.
And it was clear he knew that too.
As such he hurtled projectiles made of bones towards me to gain some distance.
I barely dodged by tilting my head to the side while following him trying to press the attack.
I tried to finish him quickly with the Dance of The Crescent Moon but had to abort at the last second when large amount of bones erupted from his body and that Piccolo voice once more yelled "Dodge!".
A substitution Jutsu enabled me to avoid being skewered like a kebab Deadpool style.
The poor innocent log being sacrificed for the greater good.
Upon safety avoiding the near death experience I realised he had activated the first stage of his Cursed Seal.
"Taking this up a notch are we" I said with a grin as my body erupted into the Initial stage of the Jinchuriki Transformation.
Kimimaro however refused to fall for my bait.
Instead he once more went on the attack.
Only this time his strength speed and power were on a whole new level.
"God dam Senjutsu" I complained as my Sharingan and body however keeping up due to the boost the initial transformation offered.
We were once more evenly matched as we switched between offence and defence.
Neither one of us managing to hold the upper hand for long enough to really take advantage of it.
That was until Kimimaro's bone sword managed to actually destroy the sword that was given to me by Hayate Sensei.
It was safe to say that left me infuriated.
So much so that my Chakra erupted wildly.
My eyes began to spin as I roared with anger.
"How dare you!" I yelled.
Tears began to fill my eyes before they began to flow freely.
It was with this tear filled expression I stared down at Hayate Sensei's legacy.
The broken sword lay in my hand, blade snapped in a clean break.
I then rose my eyes to meet Kimimaro.
Only as I did so he stepped back in shock.
"What eyes are these?" I heard him say.
My hand rose towards my face.
Only when I removed it did I notice blood.
It was in that moment I realised I had awakened my Mangekyo Sharingan.
And with that realisation came knowledge.
Almost instinctively I knew how these eyes worked and it was almost enough to snap me out of my rage.
After all they gave me access to of all things an Item Box.
My left eye allowed me to store things inside.
While my right allowed me to actually enter it personally.
It was a very Gamer version of Kamui if I did say so myself.
Unfortunately it didn't allow me to become intangible or travel like Kamui did.
But what it did allow me to do was absorb and redirect all of Kimimaro's bone projectiles right back at him.
This took out his long distance attacks thus forcing us back to a closer distance.
There I once again used the Shisui special to devastating effect.
It was clear now that I finally got the upper hand.
As such Kimimaro was forced to activate his cursed seal in it's final form once more swinging the balance of the fight.
And if his strength speed and power were impressive previously they were on a whole new level now.
It was no wonder it required Garaa who was on in my opinion at that point an S-rank level to defeat him.
But I too was not without tricks up my sleeves.
The red Chakra that cloaked me in the initial stage then began to thicken and mutate.
A single red tail and fox like characteristics formed around me.
"Jinchuriki" Kimimaro whispered.
But my senses now heightened picked up on that.
I shot off like a bullet.
I attacked Kimimaro with so much speed that I was practically a blur to the naked eye.
I moved at impossible angles.
But most striking of all was the fact I could use the air itself to hurl myself in another direction.
I had basically recreated Moon step from One Piece.
Sure it is a technique I can only use in this form.
But it gave me the ability to move in three dimensions.
That combined with my speed was simply too much for Kimimaro to follow.
And as such began resorting to area of attack techniques.
The green field that began our duel was soon replaced by pure white bones for almost as far as the eye can see.
His defence was also impeccable.
But I had grown tired of this game.
And I had no desire to wait until his illness killed him off for me.
As such I made one final approach
My chakra claws shot him into the air to which I was ready and waiting above him due to the Moon Step.
Only in my hand was a large Big Ball Rasengan.
I used the Chakra Cloak to hurtle myself towards him and struck him with the Jutsu.
We hit in mid air and hurtled towards the ground like a missile.
The Big Ball Rasengan chipping away at his bone defences.
And we struck the ground with incredible force.
What once looked like a world of bones was now one giant crater.
And in the centre of it was a very dead Kimimaro.
I stood up victoriously over his prone form.
Happy my efforts bore fruit.
But before I could reflect too much on my victory I felt something in the distance.
My Nine Tails Chakra Cloak reacting to the true Jinchuriki Naruto.
"It must be the stage of the fight where he used the version One Transformation" I thought to myself.
No longer needing to rely on my own Transformation I cut off the flow of Nine Tails Chakra.
I stored Kimmimaro's body within my Mangekyo Sharingan before I also reverted that to its normal state.
I had no intention of over using those eyes knowing what the consequences were.
And I exhaustedly made my way to the Valley Of the End.
Where I knew Naruto's fight with Sasuke would take place.
You can imagine my surprise when I arrived there and it was to find Naruto injured from his fight with Sasuke.
Gaara was there along with Kakashi.
When I asked what happened it turned out that Jugo was also sent.
I rebuked myself for not predicting Orochimaru ight have sent other individual.
"Moron you shouldn't have expected things to stay too close to the anime" I mentally berated myself.
And Jugo in his crazed state was Gaara's opponent.
Which by all rights was quite the sight as Shukaku influenced Gaara and they were both roaring animalistically during their fight according to Kakashi who arrived towards the end.
My focus however wasn't on them.
It was instead towards Naruto.
He was injured and thus needed Medical Attention.
Something I promptly provided.
I quickly passed out after doing so however.
My natural Chakra reserves were now running on fumes due to having awoken my Mangekyo Sharingan.
Part One Epilogue
When next I woke up I was in the Konoha hospital.
I felt all the tell tale signs of Chakra exhaustion.
My Chakra System was also struggling to cope with the burden I had placed on it.
"It seems I'm not yet ready for the Mangekyo and Nine Tails Chakra combined" I thought as my body twitched and spasmed.
I was soon visited by Tsunade.
She wanted a report on the mission.
To which I did so to the best of my abilities.
I detailed every fight that occurred due to having the memories of my Shadow Clones present in every battle.
I praised my men for their abilities and how they handled their respective situations.
She then informed me of the things I would have been unaware of due to being unconscious.
Apparantly Sasuke had still got away, which I honestly didn't care all that much about.
The thing I was mostly bothered by was that the Rookies I took out into the field had all come back in better shape than they did in the anime/manga.
For which Tsunade praised my leadership as being the major reason behind that despite this being the first mission I had actually failed to accomplish.
Once talk of the mission was out of the way Tsunade then asked what the deal was with the Strength Of One Hundred Seal I had.
I sighed that, that specific secret was now out of the bag.
I told her how on a mission once I came across a boy named Sora.
How his Father had sealed unstable Nine Tails Chakra into him that was slowly mutating him.
I played it up like I extracted the Chakra to help the boy.
As I didn't think she would be pleased if I said I simply took it for my own benefit.
Thankfully as a Shinobi I have developed quite the skill in lying over the years.
"So you are a Pseudo-Jinchuriki" was her response to which I nodded.
"Good" she responded shocking me.
She then explained that Jaraiya planned on taking Naruto out of the village for two years to train him.
Something I expected from my past life's knowledge.
She then said that being without a Jinchuriki would put the village at risk somewhat.
And while she can mitigate it, having me present to pick up the role as deterrent to other villages would aid the village immensely.
I had no choice but to accept that.
But had her agree to keep my status an S-rank secret between only herself and I.
"I can do that" she said before ordering me to rest.
"I can do that" was my cocky response that made her grin.
I slowly recovered during my stay in the hospital.
In that time I was visited by numerous individuals.
The Rookies I had led into battle, my old team mates, and Mizaki being chief amongst them.
The one that shocked me most was Sakura.
She came to apologise for trying to manipulate Naruto into accepting a promise he couldn't possibly fulfil.
Her eyes were red from tears and she looked honestly quite depressed.
And while I didn't regret what I said to her, I could have probably handled it a lot better.
Thus I tried to extend to her an olive branch.
I knew she was going to be studying under Tsunade.
And as such I offered my services if she ever had difficulty understanding any Medical Ninjutsu.
She gratefully accepted and left me to my own devices.
Something that infuriated me as I hated being inactive.
Doing nothing was definitely not in my nature.
As such I was incredibly thankful when I got discharged.
It was not long after that point when Naruto told me he was leaving the village to train with Jaraiya..
I thus saw him off at the main gates when he was due to leave.
I pulled him into a tight hug and said "I'm going to miss you little bro"
A sentiment he reciprocated.
He tightened the hug and said "I'll miss you too"
We separated to see a smiling Jaraiya observing our interactions.
I then saw them off as he and the Toad Sannin left the village.
Thus came to an end what I knew to have been the first part of the Naruto series.
I stared at the bright blue sky seeing the metaphorical storm clouds on the horizon.
"It's only going to get harder from here" I thought.
And as such I was going to need to be prepared for it.
I have roughly two and a half years to do just that.
And I was determined to use every second of it.
Thus I turned my back to Konoha's gates and with my head held high and squared shoulders I returned home.
