An addicting scent... That was the first thing Kaito felt the moment he touched Merlin's hands.
It was a scent he was unfamiliar with, nor it is something normal to this world. It's fragrance is something only hread of in fiction yet it felt real at the same time.
Kaito opened his eyes and looked at where the scent came from and he immediately saw where it came from.
Flowers... Multiple of them... As a matter of fact you can see flowers everywhere; pink, gorgeis flowers that's fragrance can make any perfume store fight to the death if they discovered something amazing like these.
Kaito looked beside him and saw five other people, the other three were hiding their faces whereas there were two people thag Kaito knew of that were not hiding theirs.
It was the two Masters he heard from Haru's report. The man with white hair and a cut on his eyes was the Master of North America Jake Tobias.
Seeing him made Kaito look at him in anger, Jake noticed Kaito looking at him aggressively respond with a smug smile. He took out a sunglasses from his pockets and wore him as he gave the middle finger to Kaito.
He wanted to punch Jake right now, but Kaito knew that he needs to maintain his compolsure and act professionally. After looking away from Jake, Kaito saw the next Master he was saw from Haru's report.
Next to him was the 14-year-old prodigy Colette De La Fontaine. She was on the ground seatinf elegantly, she has short blonde hair and was wearing a ribbon on her head. Her clothes is like that of a princess, not only that but she was also wearing white gloves to match her dress.
She was smiling happily as she read the book she was reading, looking at the book Kaito saw that it was the original Hans Christian Andersen novel titled the Little Mermaid.
"So this is the young genius... Looking at the way she acts, she looks more like a spoiled brat to me..." Kaito whispered to himself.
"Good morning, Masters!" Merlin appeared in front of the Masters in thin air, he was holding his staff and laughing in joy out loud. "Now, I know you're all excited for this epic war! First, I'm gonna introduce myself."
Merlin showed his hand to the Masters, and on it were multiple command spells. "I, the amazing Merlin is appointed as the overseer of this war! Thus, I'm gonna tell you all today the main difference of this war from the original one!"
Everyone else looked at him in awe, whereas the Master of Europe Colette was looking at him with nothing but an emotionless smile.
"First difference: As you have all theorized, the o lt servants you can summon are heroes only found in each of your respective continents!"
Colette closed her book and smiled proudly as soon as she heard what Merlin said.
Kaito and along with the rest of the Masters could only look at her tensely, after all now that they have confirmed that their theory of only summoning servants located in their continents is true then that puts them at a disadvantage.
Europe out of all the rest of the continents has histories that far exceeds the fame of the rest.
One of the main factor of strengthening a servant is their fame in history, and if she managed to summon a servant that's incredibily known then she has the highest chsnce of victory already.
"Second difference: Masters have seven servants then can command from each class."
Everyome went in shock of what they heard, hearing that they can summon seven servants made everyone question the effects of this war.
"Excuse me, Mister Merlin." Colette raised her hand as her smile disappeared and her face turend to a more serious look.
"Oh, what is it Master of Europe?"
"If we're gonna command seven servants on our own, how is that even going to be possible? From the looks of it, majority of the Masters here are not magi, so asking them to command one servant is draining, especially if its seven."
Magical energy, depending on the Masters they can have high or low amount of magical energy, and these magical energy are used by servants to fight.
If the Masters are not magi then it's naturally that they have no magical energy, and if a master came from a prestigius family line of maguses then naturally their magical energy is high.
Upon looking at it, it's normal to see that the Masters who are not born from with magical energy like Kaito is at a disadvantage, whereas Masters like Colette whose family are maguses
then she is already winning at this point.
"Don't worry that won't be a problem." Merlin clapped his hands as he smiled at Colette. "Someone and I made a deal so that this war would be fair for everybody. After all it would be cheating if you– Master of Europe have the biggest chance of winning at the war."
Merlin looked at everyone with a sadistic gaze. "So it's only natural that I, the greatest mage of all time is gonna give everyone a blessing." Merlin went closer to Kaito and smiled at him in joy. "What is that blessing? It is to make the servants not use any of the Masters magical energy, thus only the grail can provide the magical energy for the servants."
Colette responded with a dissatisfied look and continued to went back to reading her book.
"Hahahah!" The Master of North America: Jake Tobias started laughing out loud upon seeing Colette getting bitter at Merlin's statement. "You think you're all smug you damn brat? Now I can finally beat that stupid look on your face."
Colette continued reading her book without a care of the insults that Jake said.
Jake seeing this looked pissed off, he clenched his fist in rage. "You damn brat, don't you fucking ignore me." Jake readied his fist and went for a punch.
As he was about to punch he felt something stopped his fist, and also a sharp object was near his throat.
He looked at what the two things stopping him could be and saw Kaito pointing a katana at his neck and also one of the mysterious hooded Master pulled a wooden staff and used that to block his fist.
"What do you guys think you're doing?" Jake looked at the two angrily.
"I won't let you hurt that child." The hooded Master said.
Kaito looked at the hooded Master who assisted him, just from the Master's voice you can easily tell that this Master is a girl.
"I have personal reasons in why I won't let you hurt her." Kaito said to Jake in a deadpan voice.
Jake could only glare at them, he knew that fighting these two Masters is suicide. "Whatever."
Jake walked away from the three Masters and looked at Merlin still in anger. "Hoy, you damn Mage. Have you finished explaining everything?"
"Yep, those two difference are the only things you all need to know." Merlin replied with a mischievous grin.
"I'm leaving then." Jake disappeared as soon as he said he was leaving.
Kaito looked at the other Masters and saw that they were already gone, the only people left here were him, Colette, the other Master who helped, and Merlin.
"Ok, I guess I'll leave this conversation to the three of you." Merlin stood up and strerched. "Ciao." Then he disappears, which makes only the three of them left.
"I, give you my thanks for saving me from that foul beast." Colette stood up elegantly and looked at Kaito and the other Master. "You two may have already know me, but let me introduce myself properly. I am the youngest daughter of the De La Fontaine family, Colette De La Fontaine. It is an honor to meet you two. I apologize, but I don't have any information concerning you two."
The mysterious Master removed her hood and revealed her identity. She was an African-teen about 16 years old, she has long black hair that is tied into a ponytail, and her eyes were green-like emerald.
