On the streets of New York; the citizens were screaming in terror running away from the giant orange skinned monster that was named Gog; crushing buildings and screaming quite loud as authorities including police officers and Damage Control agents came to evacuate the area.
Debris was falling down and Peter web slinged in to catch the falling debris from falling onto civilians; they ran as Peter then threw it at Gog. Peter then swallowed any fear that he had has he then began using his webs to pull civilians to safety.
Felicia came forward and by impulse began using her whip to pull civilians to safety as well; as more debris came closing down and was about to come down on a screaming family; Peter jumped to catch it and Felicia used her whip to pull them to safety. The daughter of the family hugged Felicia's arm as they thanked her to her surprise.
She then decided to grapple up a lampost to get a better look on the area when a hidden drone short circuited; Peter then stopped and saw the foot of Gog glitching out. "Wait a minute..." Peter said realising why this looked familiar focused on his senses and brought down drones with projects that caused Gog to vanish along with the foot imprints on the ground that he was leaving.
"A fake! An illusion... Just like the Elementals!" Peter groaned but then the civilians looking at Peter and Felicia and started applauding and cheering.
"Yeah Spider-Man & Black Cat; yeah!" yelled a familiar guy as Felicia then went up to Peter.
"I guess your hero thing does get recognition..." Felicia said as a black police officer came up to them.
"Spider-Man; Black Cat... I must say thanks for your help and right now; I will totally ignore that there is an arrest warrant out for Black Cat right now... I'm Officer Wendy Conrad and I am such a huge fan of you and your Avenger friends Spidey; my friends in the LARPers society are basically superheroes ourselves... Teamed up with Hawkeye and the girl Hawkeye..." the officer greeted them with a smile.
"Wait... That incident at the Rockefeller Center?" Felicia asked and Wendy nodded enthusiastically. "Spider; I am curious but why weren't you there? From what I heard of the news; there was a whole army of Tracksuits there so plenty of faces to punch..." Felicia then asked Peter as he was studying the projector.
"Look; I was dealing with something else... On the other side of the city; I stumbled across a gang of drug dealers who were pretending to be mall Santas; by the time I heard about it and made it there... It was all dealt with..." Peter explained as he put it under his arm. "Well thanks for everything Wendy but I must be going..." Peter said as Wendy got out a notepad to write onto it and then passed it to Peter.
"My number... In case you want to meet up with the others; we could make you an honorary member like with the Hawkeyes... You would like Jack as he's a lot of fun to be around and is interested in becoming a swordsman type hero..." Wendy then explained.
"Thanks..." Peter finally said as he then web slinged away with Felicia following him and Wendy waving to them.
"Did you just let Spider-Man leave with evidence?" demanded a Damage Control agent coming up to Wendy who shrugged.
"When has trying to arrest him ever worked out for your organisation in the end?" Wendy retorted.
The headquarters of the Daily Bugle; "Make sure that we have our reporters down there to report on this alien monster and show how Spider-Man made things worse; get people ready to edit around all the cheering for him... Would make it harder to drill it into people's heads that he is a menace..." Jameson demanded to an assistant.
"Okay Mr Jameson sir but our lawyers are really insisting on seeing to you as soon as possible; about paying off the settlements to the lawsuits about our vitamins... The health department are closing in and we will need a new sponsor..." the assistant said as Jameson walked into his office to find Gargan sitting in his seat casually.
Gargan then turned into Venom and leaped to grab Jameson; "A portable camera to stream directly to your news site live; do it or else your boss' life ends and don't both calling the cops or Damage Control; I made sure that they are preoccupied far away with Gog..." Venom warned as Jameson was screaming in terror and without dignity and they ended up complying as Venom got it into his ooze. "Don't worry as you will have a front row seat to the biggest news story you have had in a long time..." Venom grinned as he then jumped out of the open window to a helicopter outside waiting for him as he stuck it holding Jameson and the camera.
Felicia followed Peter as he was web slinging with the projector; "Okay there was a locator tech inside and I managed to reverse it and it's brought us to here..." Peter said as they were in front of a pizza restaurant as Peter groaned. "Uh... Got fired from here a few weeks ago... Didn't take too kindly to too many late deliveries when I had to prioritise Spider-Man..." Peter groaned out.
"Spider-Man was a delivery boy?" Felicia smirked as Peter entered through the door after busting the lock with his strength with Felicia following.
"Odd jobs I have been doing and have trouble keeping; all to pay for supplies and rent..." Peter said as they saw the manager come into the empty area looking angry.
"We are closed... Spider-Man! Black Cat! Right this way..." the manager then said urgently showing them to the back room and a secret entrance down to the secret hideout where Mason and the remainder of Mysterio's team was.
"So... Gargan was using this as a hideout..." Peter said as the guards were gone and the henchmen looked more relieved than worried as Mason and Riva went up to them.
"Spider-Man... Thank god... We will cooperate and turn ourselves in... We can't handle working for Gargan anymore... He is becoming worse and more unhinged; he is ready to bring the city to flames and the full force of god onto us; all to try and make himself some sort of supervillain criminal mastermind!" Riva said kneeling down as Peter and Felicia were taken aback.
"He is bonded to what is an alien symbiote; possessing his body but it's only barely accepting him as a host... In time it could eat his organs but before that' it's influencing his darker impulses and he was already pretty bad as it is..." Mason explained as they thought that it sounded horrific. "Our analysis showed that the symbiote has a weakness to extremely loud noises and fire..." Mason then further explained and Peter had a realisation.
"It always seemed to react badly to loud noises and fire... We might be able to use fire weakness against it and maybe the loud noises; maybe if I had something like the Shocker's gauntlet but who knows what happened to that..." Peter muttered but Felicia smirked at him.
"The stuff I had taken from Techtronics; it included a sonar device and I could go back and get it!" Felicia said as Riva sighed as he brought up the Daily Bugle site live on his phone as they looked.
Their eyes widened as it showed Jameson's face right behind chaos at some sort of prison as he was stuck to a wall and holding a camera; "J. Jonah Jameson here against my will reporting at Ryker's Island where that monster Venom has kidnapped me to see a riot instigated by men in masks with weapons..." Jameson said as it was showing a full prison riot with Gargan's forces with their advanced weapons.
"Just like with the weapons that Vulture's gang provided..." Peter muttered as Mason looked scared.
"Which I helped build... I was Toomes' 'tinkerer' as it were..." Mason said as Peter glared at him.
"You made those weapons that were brought to my neighbourhood?" Peter was ready to start punching but knew that there were bigger fish to fry. "What about the illusion of the monster?" Peter then asked as Riva looked nervous along with the remainders of Mysterio's forces.
"That... Was to distract you and all the authorities while his army were sent out to start the riot; break out the prisoners and arm them to make them part of his army. He wants to take over the city and this is too much... I was alright with making our own hero with Mysterio to get back at Stark but..." Riva explained as Peter glared at him when he heard the news. "Yeah... We helped frame you but we will turn ourselves in..." Riva muttered as Peter shook his head.
"Cat... Can I count on your help in this... That's a full scale riot at a prison which is above your usual thing but if they get out with those weapons then..." Peter asked Felicia softly and she looked at him.
"Earlier helping you with that illusion of the monster... It felt nice to be able to help out and be appreciated... All this time I have been doing this for the thrills and in the name of a father who wanted to mould me into his weapon... Maybe I can use the power and skills I have to do something good for a change... Plus maybe; the ''goody good' from all this time spending with you has rub off onto me... I can get the sonar device and join you at the prison." Felicia then said and then smiled at Peter and he smiled back.
"Do they even remember that we are still here?" asked Riva to shakes of the head.
Peter and Felicia started heading up as Peter got out his phone and the piece of paper to call; it was picked up and said "Wendy... I know you must be busy with a prison riot but there is a lot of stuff down here at Murphy's Pizza that you would be interested in seeing as in a criminal hideout... Plus could I get a ride please?" Peter then called.
Yes as was shown earlier; Gog as just an illusion like the Elementals. You know that Sinister Six movie they tried to have made during the time of the Webb movies (and I am sure those in charge of the Sony Marvel Universe are still trying to set up for); they were going to have Gog in the Savage Land. Wonder if it ever crossed their mind that the rights to use the Savage Land would be in the X Men franchise so would their panic and fix it approach to have it be an unnamed land of dinosaurs?
