The next day...

After finding the egg, Ben went to train in the cave like usual. Wendy wasn't going to join him until the egg hatched, so he was on his own. But upon entering the cave, he found a egg there. This egg was similar to Wendy's, but it was orange with a black outline.

"Strange, there are no creatures living here but there is a egg. It's similar to the one we found yesterday. Could it be that these eggs are the same species? Or maybe their parents are the same too? But why were they found in different locations?" Ben questioned out loud.

"Forget it! I'll just take this egg with me later and ask Wendy to keep it too. Maybe it's a Griffon egg? That would be very cool." Ben rubbed his chin.

Ben cast his thoughts aside and began to train. He removed his shirt and wrapped it around the egg. He placed the egg on the side near the lacrima crystals with his bag. Then he left the egg alone and began training.

After he was done training, Ben returned to the village with the egg. He reported it to Roubaul and the old man agreed to let Wendy take care of it. Wendy was happy to keep another egg. She was like a mother hen who had fertile eggs.

Days passed and it went like normal, minus the fact that they had 2 eggs that needed to hatch. Wendy took care of the eggs and they placed the eggs on a nest made out of straw and cloth. Then after 3 weeks, the eggs finally hatched.

When they saw the eggs start to crack, everyone gathered around to look at them. Then sometime later the first egg they found hatched. But what emerged from the egg really surprised them.

"...A cat?" Ben was dumbfounded.

The thing that emerged from the egg was surprisingly a cat, a kitten. It was a white kitten with a big head and pink eyes. It's body was also bigger than a ordinary kitten's. It might be as big as an adult cat right now.

"Ben nii-san, it's a cat! Amazing!" Wendy exclaimed in joy.

"Y-yeah, I know. Then this must also be a cat egg." He realized.

After he said that, the other egg also cracked, then soon it hatched. To no one's surprise, what emerged was a cat. This cat was orange with black stripes like a tiger. It also had a kuudere face, especially the calm, yet sharp eyes.

"Are they male or female? I can't determine a cat's gender." Ben asked.

"Both of them are female, so you can choose female names for them." Roubaul answered.

"Ooh, as I thought from a fossil that's lived for millennia, you know every-" Ben was cut off.

BONK*

Roubaul hit Ben on the head because he was pissed.

"Differentiating a cat's sex isn't that hard. Go on, Wendy! Give her a name!" Roubaul yelled.

"Hmm, I'll name it Carla. What about yours Ben nii-san?" Wendy asked him.

"You can name it if you want." Ben got to his feet with a bump on his head.

"No, it's your partner, so you should be the one to name it." Wendy shook her head.

"Hmm, I'm not that good when it comes to naming something. How about Tigress?" Ben made a attempt to name the cat.

Ben remembered Tigress from Kung-Fu Panda and she resembled it's tiger-like appearance. But his choice of name made everyone look at him with stinky eyes, even his cat. The cat's expression didn't change, but Ben could feel it from her eyes.

"Come on, don't look at me like that! Hmm. How about Bella since we have the same initials." Ben finally decided on a name.

The cat nodded after a moment and Ben sighed in relief. But just when he was relieved, Ben was in for another surprise. A pair of white wings emerged from Bella's back and she flew toward his head. Then she landed on his head and ruffled his hair like she was making a nest.

"S-She can fly? Then Carla can fly too?" Wendy was stunned.

Carla seemed to notice Wendy's gaze and she also flew over to Wendy's head.

"Ho ho these cats can instantly use magic not long after birth. Marvelous!" Roubaul exclaimed.

"That means we can train them to use magic like mages?" Ben happily questioned.

"I don't know, you can try it later. But usually magical creatures will have their own magic that activates when they grow up." Roubaul reasoned.

"Hmm, well, we can try it in the future. For now I need to train. Wendy, can you take care of Bella while I do that?" Ben asked the blue-haired young girl.

"Okay. Now I can play with Carla and Bella. He he." Wendy giggled.

Ben grabbed Bella and put her down in front of Wendy. But Bella held his hand tightly and didn't want to let go.

"It seems she wants to follow you." Wendy noted.

"It won't be interesting to see me train you know." Ben sighed.

Bella didn't care and climbed his hand until she reached his hair again.

"Fine. Don't say I didn't warn you."

Ben then left and headed to the cave to train. Before leaving, he grabbed some bottles of milk for Bella to drink later. When he reached the cave containing the crystals, Ben placed Bella down near one.

She didn't object now and just sat there while looking at the crystals. Ben started to train like usual and Bella played with the crystals. She seemed to be interested in the lacrima crystals.

"You like it? I found you here, so that must be the reason you like it, huh?" Ben guessed.

Bella took a piece of crystal that Ben and Wendy harvested in the past. She played with it like it was a rubber ball. She became excited as Ben noticed it from her glittering eyes. Ben let her play and train while talking to her.

"I guess you're Carla's little sister now because you hatched not long after her. But I don't know if you have the same parents. Heck, I don't even know what your species is, even gramps doesn't know what it is." Ben said out loud.

Growl.

Ben suddenly heard Bella's stomach growl, so he stopped training and took a bottle of milk. He wanted to pour it into a bowl, but Bella took the bottle and drank it directly. She looked excited even if her expression didn't change, only her eyes were glittering.

"Well, I guess I don't need a pacifier now." Ben sweat dropped.

He continued training and Bella played some more. She was hungry again after an hour, but now she took the milk bottle herself. When he finished training, Bella drank all 10 bottles that Ben brought with him and she was going to drink more tonight.

"I don't know if you're really hungry or you just like the milk." Ben said.

He returned to the village and just like he thought, Bella drank 12 more bottles of milk that night. Now Ben was certain Bella really liked milk, because Carla only drank 3 bottles yesterday.

"We really need to raise cows to produce milk." Ben said.

"You want to buy them?" Roubaul asked him.

"Yeah, that's the most likely scenario. We haven't found any cows in the forest. It's not their habitat anyway. Besides, wild animals aren't easy to tame." Ben pointed out.

"Can't we just buy the milk like before?" Wendy asked.

"If we keep doing that, it will be tiring going to that village everyday. That village is far away and we only go there on Sunday." He reminded her.

Ben and Wendy went to the nearby village last week to buy milk. It's a small village with a big cow farm. But even if it's the closest village, it's still far away. The distance was about 20 km, and it took a hour for them to reach it by walking and running through the forest.

"Raising a farm takes time too, and it's not that easy boy. Rather than buying the cows, how about you buy a vehicle to carry more milk? We can preserve it in a cold room so it will last for a week. That way you can just buy the milk on your day off." Roubaul suggested.

"Vehicle?" Ben asked.

"Yeah, a magic vehicle. I could help you build it, but we don't have the materials. So why not just buy one that's already constructed?" Roubaul advised.

"It will be very expensive, right? Can we afford it?" Ben asked out loud.

"Don't worry, I have some friends who can help us." Roubaul reassured him.

"Ooh, you have such a connection? That's good then. Just tell your friends I'll pay the debt with interest in the future after I can take outside jobs." Ben remarked.

"Alright." Roubaul nodded.

That problem was solved, so they can relax now. Ben then left to hunt with Bella while Wendy stayed in the village to play with Carla.

"Alright baby girl, let's get a lot of meat!" He cheered.

Bella responded by patting his head with her paw, then they went hunting. There wasn't a problem with the hunt, and Ben got a big kill today. He killed a large boar during his hunt. Ben wasn't able to lift it without Wendy's enchantment, so he dragged it along by the tusk.

That evening, they used the boar to celebrate the birth of Carla and Bella as it wasn't celebrated yesterday. The party went merrily, with Bella dancing randomly like Ben. Her expression didn't change, but her happiness could be seen by everyone. On the other hand, Carla just calmly sat with Wendy.

"It seems their pairings are not wrong." Roubaul smiled.

All in all, today was a happy day.
